A competitor teardown swipe file
Your competitors explain their strategy on YouTube all the time: launch keynotes, founder podcasts, webinars, "how we grew" talks. Most teams watch one, nod, and forget it.
A swipe file fixes that. Each video becomes a short case study with the positioning, the hook, the funnel, and the moves worth copying, all linked to the exact second it was said.

What you'll end up with
- One slideshow per video in the marketing or growth teardown style
- A "What to steal" slide with 3 to 5 moves you can test this week
- Timestamp links on every claim, so anyone can check the source
- A folder of decks your team can browse before every campaign
How to do it
- 1
Pick 5 videos
Choose launch videos, webinars, or founder interviews from 2 or 3 competitors. Talks where they explain decisions work best.
- 2
Make one case study per video
Ask for a marketing case study or a growth teardown. Name your audience (your team) so the deck ends with what to steal.
- 3
Save them in one place
Put the HTML files in a shared folder or Notion page named by competitor and date.
- 4
Review them as a team
Spend 20 minutes per deck in your weekly meeting and pick one idea to test.

Tips
- Founder interviews often reveal more strategy than polished launch videos.
- Keep the AI's interpretation separate: slides marked "Analysis" are opinions, not quotes.
- Re-cut the same video for a different audience, for example "for our sales team".

FAQ
Is it okay to study competitors' public videos?+
Yes. You're summarizing public talks for internal learning, and every slide credits the original video and creator.
Can I share the decks outside my company?+
Keep them internal unless you add your own commentary and credit the creator. Quotes are short and linked to the source.
