my name is Jay. Today I'm going to take

you shopping with me as a foreigner in

Korea. I used to think that I had a lot

of clothes, but after looking at my

closet, I realized that I actually don't

have as many clothes as I thought I did.

Right now, uh, I'm on my way to

the department store. I'm going to go to

Yongan. No, no, no, not Yongan. It's

Soul Station. Oh my god. So, right now

I'm going to head to Soul Station. Going

to see uh what they have in the

department store. Hopefully, they have

some good stuff. And yeah, let's go.

recording the subway. It's one of the

most uncomfortable things that I've ever

done in my entire life.

now we're at Soul Station. I really want

to buy some clothes. I guess it's like a

good chance for,

you know, you guys to see what it's like

for a foreigner to shop for clothes in

Korea. One of the biggest concerns that

a lot of people have by shopping for

clothes here is that they won't have the

right size for them. A medium here feels

like a small in the US and like a large

here feels like a medium. So, this has

kind of been like the biggest difficulty

when trying to buy clothes, especially

online, because when you buy things

online, you can't try them on. You just

got to kind of hope and pray that

whatever you get is the right size.

Oh my goodness.

So, I really like Soul Station just

because it has a lot of uh people and a

lot of different places to shop, but I

also don't like Soul Station because it

has a lot of people because there are

many places to shop. That's just

something you kind of have to deal with

whenever you want to come to a place

that's busy. Okay,

we're in Zara.

Let me just show you what it looks like.

We've got to go upstairs

just because that's where the men's

clothes are at. All right, let's go

upstairs.

Okay, so on this floor they have a bunch

of kids clothes and then they have the

men's clothes like over here.

You know, one thing that I noticed

whenever shopping with my sister or my

mom is that whenever they would look at

clothes, they would always kind of just

like just go through like this. Like

they go very fast. You know what I mean?

And I never really understood why cuz I

was like I wasn't interested in

shopping. So I was like why why are you

shopping if you're barely going to look

at the clothes? But then I realized

after I got interested in shopping that

this is actually the most efficient way

to to shop because you got to look at as

many clothes as possible within a short

period of time. One of the biggest

factors when making my decision to buy

is the price. Uh I don't want to pay too

much money for clothes that I think are

not worth it. Obviously, if it looks

really nice, I'm willing to pay a lot of

money.

This doesn't look bad, but I would never

pay 80,000 for this. Oh, I like that.

Yo, this looks fire.

I think this looks kind of good. But I

have a feeling it's going to be too

expensive or something.

kind of cool, right? Because for people

who like aren't from Korea, we really

like hunger. And so on the back of this

shirt, they have hunger on it. What does

this say though?

I have no idea what that says. I I don't

know. I've studied Korean for eight

years and I still can't read a shirt. So
