VAN REPAIRS IN MOROCCO - Is it really cheaper than the UK?

My brakes went.

So, I had an absolutely incredible stay

at this olive grove. I will put some

details in if you ever want to go here

cuz the hospitality was absolutely

incredible. The food was incredible.

Such a great vibe there. Absolutely

loved it. just come down the dirt track

to leave and my brakes sound horrific.

There's a lot of noise going on down

there and I actually don't know what it

is. It's very crunchy and very loud,

like grinding just sounds bad. So, we're

going to go to a deer now, which is

4hour drive away. I'm going to take it

pretty easy and get my van booked in at

a garage ASAP. And we also need to go

and get some cards as well. So, that's

the plan for today.

>> We've just gone and filled up and

another 3/4 of a tank for £42 and that's

premium fuel as well. So, really happy

with that. An update on the ABS issue.

My light usually resets when I go over

10 mph after I've turned the engine off

or it's just got a bind of its own at

the moment. I'm just leaving the petrol

station. Then the traction control came

on again and I heard the like the noise

again. So, we've got 2 hours to go on

this drive. We're driving through proper

desert land now. It looks like we're in

Africa. It's looking absolutely amazing.

Even though we've got a little issue

with the van, vibes are going to be good

today. We're not going to let it bother

us. We're going to get things sorted.

Everything will be okay in the end cuz

it always is.

Turns out it's daytime parking only.

Now, we're going to head 10 minutes down

the road to another one, which

apparently you can stay for for the

night.

I've had another light come on now on my

dashboard and I'm pretty sure it's the

handbrake light. My handbrake's not on.

But yeah, we're moving on to another

park up now because the first two we've

gone to can't park there anymore

overnight. So, we're going to go to

Tagazoot now and try out something

there.

You're not going to believe this. We've

just paid for a park up where we can

stay overnight. And then somebody's just

come over who knows me from Instagram. I

didn't even recognize him, but they

stopped to tell Andy that the police

have come and moved them on. [music] And

then, yeah, we bumped into Ke and he's

going to show us a park up. This is

going to be the fourth one now. And

hopefully [music] we can stay here for

the night.

This is such a good park up.

It's such a cool surfer vibe here. So,

me and Andy are definitely going to

touch up on our surfing skills. We'll be

pros by the time we leave Morocco.

>> Good morning. I'm in Tagazoo now and I

actually did take a few days off just to

recover from all the driving. I did get

a little bit ill as well after about 24

hours where I had a really high fever,

blinding headache and stomach ache, but

it only lasted 24 hours and I'm back to

it. Let me show you around the park up

and I'll let you know what our plans are

going forward. Now, we do have a really

big RV blocking our beautiful seascape

view, but that's okay. Got a little

Bluey down here. Andy's parked next to

me. See me in the reflection?

got a new member of the crew, which is

Chris. Um, we'll go find him in a bit.

is somewhere. But let me just show you

around the park up. So, here's the park

up that we've been at for the last few

days. Got a lot of vans coming and

going. And uh we've got this absolutely

huge van here. Let's just come on.

Blocked our view, but yeah, we'll allow

it. It's 30 dirhams a night here. We've

got Ke here as well. Ke doesn't get up

till about 11:00. Bless him. So, we

won't wake him up yet. But yeah, it's um

it's cheap and cheerful here. We've got

Muhammad who kind of patrols the area

for us and make sure that we're all

safe.

We've got Tagazoot down there.

Absolutely love it here. It's got such a

beautiful surfer vibe. Everything down

there is super colorful as well. I can't

wait to show you the town. It's

absolutely beautiful. On the drive here,

as you know, I had some problems with

the van and the ABS system. It's been a

bit of an ongoing issue with the van

since I've owned it. But so far, up

until now, it has been fine. I've had a

lot of messages off a lot of lovely

people that I really appreciate all of

the help that you've sent over and

things to try. So, we've got a few

things to try this morning. I'm going to

do some simple checks, which is check

the fuses and also I'm going to check

some grounding points as well on the

van. There he is. He's coming over now.

and he's been really kind as well to get

his toolbox out to help um look at this

van and yeah, see if we can figure out

anything easy that needs fixing.

Oh, my arms aren't long enough.

I think we may have located the earth

points. Um if I can get the camera in.

So, can you see that? Is it going to

focus?

Oh, there we go. just there. They do

look very corroded. So, I reckon we're

going to try our best to get to it cuz

it's quite far down there and see if we

can give it a good clean up.

Um, so let's unplug this. Go on. I might

need a screwdriver cuz my nails are too

soft. Oh, for God's sake. There we go.

Woo! Thank god for that. Ah, got a runny

nose now. Right in the air.

go. We've got a little bit of easier

access now that we've popped the

headlight out. And we're going to see if

we can get those bolts off and clean

them up.

Oh, that one does work.

That'll do.

No, it's

there's a lot of play in this and it's

not helping.

So, these bolts are on extremely tight.

So, tried tapping them with a hammer,

sprayed a load of WD40 on him. Um, I

think we've just got to wait for this WD

to like actually penetrate through. So,

I'm just going to keep spraying it every

now and then and we'll come back to it.

But, they look super corroded. So, I'm

just mindful that I don't want to round

them off or cause more damage,

basically.

So, we've put the headlight back on now.

Um, a lovely local has come over and

tried to get these bolts off, but we've

decided we're going to leave it because

we could just be making it worse trying

to get it off. It really isn't budging.

We'll wait until we get to uh the

mechanics and see what they say for

that. But what I can do while I'm here

is check the fuses. So that's what I'm

going to do next.
