Buff Kit - How to Buff & Polish with the Deluxe Buffing Kit from Eastwood
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Hi I'm mark roe group product manager here at Eastwood you've seen my shop
typical pilot you guys got now we're back here at Eastwood and I'm going to show you one of our hot new
products here
what is it's our new
all components buff kit
now this kit here we have is utilized
to either use a cordless drill
or a pneumatic die grinder
these kits here you have your five different compounds for your steels aluminum's and
plastics
small felt bob's here in different shapes get you in and out of a lot of nooks and crannies especially
intake manifolds polishing up carbs getting corrosion off of them
two different size mushroom buffs
uh... large around, tapered
and your traditional wheels, two spiral sewn and a loose sewn
what I want to show you here is some of the stuff that you can do it this kit itself
what I got here is a
typical small block chevy aluminum head but what I want to do is add some detail to this so
this front accessory mount pad right here
area that's machined to a
beautiful polished luster which will work real nice again
some fabricate aluminum valve covers that are going to go on here
taillight bezel
This is aluminum has some anodizing on it that we removed were removed but it's it's
corroded it's got some
nicks and scratches on it we can show you how you can quickly transform this into uh... back
to day one
cast iron water neck here believe it or not you can take pretty much any
metal
smooth it and bring up to a high lester shine also
something to do once you are done with the project
compress the other one in the house there this is all just a
corroded brass
uh... door pull from the kitchen
one other thing i want to tell you of the tips
and tricks that
we got here
this is an old hacksaw blade
we would do is keep your buffs clean uh... so what to do with this is a
I take it simply clamp it into a bench vise
and then with your buff turning 0:01:59.100,0:02:03.120 simply spin it over to blade here and then it'll pull the compound and metal
contaminants off of the wheel keeping it nice and clean
Alright, now what I want to do is show you how easy it is to use this kit
uh... we're gonna start off on doing
front part of the aluminum cylinder head here here
that we take a spiral song buff
chuck it into any
cordless trail or corded drill
the compound comes in these cardboard tubes
to use it simply take the car board
peel it off
And when you're not using the compounds to store them just put them in some ziplock bags
always clean
before changing compounds
and you can see the difference there
so in summary here what we want to show you is that
just a little bit of effort
and the Eastwood buff kit you can take even a piece of trim like this
bring it back to what it was day one
this took about a couple minutes on that cast iron water mac
you see right up here
with a little more effort you bring that to a mirror shine
I showed you earlier
the
kitchen piece of hardware here
what you can do there is just polish a little bit of the center section here
And bring that up into a brilliant luster very quickly
