The Modern PERFECT TDS Loadout.
FULL TRANSCRIPT
The perfect loadout. Since last July, we have been getting so many comments about
when this video will return. And yet…it has. There are now 52 wonderful towers of TDS,
and each player can only bring a maximum of 5 of them individually,
which is called a loadout. Sorry, you already knew that? Too BAD, I wanted to say it again! Anyway,
for many, many months, players have been searching for THE best loadout to use..and
the real question is…does it even exist? Well, yes, yes it does indeed! Today, I’m
going to prove that no matter what level you are at the game, there is a perfect loadout for YOU.
Before we even chuck any towers into a loadout and call it a day, what would a perfect loadout
even look like? Definitely not you, I mean look at y-. Just kidding, you’re beautiful! Well,
there are many factors that we need to consider. How difficult will the gamemode be? What map are
we going to choose? Are we playing solo or with other players? That is why we need to
separate the BEST loadouts in such categories. One for survival gamemodes, one for Hardcore,
and one for some Special gamemodes. But even besides that, we can start to rule out
some towers that don’t have a chance of making the cut of the best loadouts. So, we’re going to split
this video into two sections: The Loadout-Guide Section, meaning we cover how to create the BEST
loadout based on specific conditions. And the section you’ve all been waiting for,
the current, PERFECT loadouts you can instantly chuck into your loadout,
that provide you the BEST performance ever. Make sure to comment below your
prediction of what YOU think is the PERFECT loadout of TDS! And also leave a like and
subscribe, please, it helps us out a ton! Before we actually see the perfect loadouts,
we need to actually create a guide based on specific conditions like player count, maps,
and gamemodes to figure out how we can create the perfect loadout, with the best towers, for YOU! By
the way, I originally wrote a section covering the top meta towers in the game currently,
but since it took up a lot of time and is somewhat irrelevant to the topic of this video,
I recommend you just check out our Google Document below with the current list.
Anyways, let’s start off with our solo loadouts, because those are the easiest to control,
as you’re just one player playing in the round. For a gamemode like Easy, you’re probably a Newbie
at the game, which is completely alright by the way! Or, you’re just one of those Level
500s coming to obliterate the Level 10s zone. You really don’t need anything special here,
and neither do you want to bring any towers that are too expensive, because you’re NOT going to get
enough cash to max ‘em out. So I would only bring one early-damage tower and one damage tower here,
because, again, you won’t get much opportunity to do anything more.
For Casual Mode, it’s kinda the same deal, but you actually get a fair amount of cash in this
gamemode, especially in solo. I’d recommend this gamemode for players that are starting
to obtain intermediate towers and want to gain more coins per win, so you’re probably just a
Beginner. You can manage to bring a full loadout here, so I would choose one early-damage tower,
two damage-towers, and one support tower. You could opt to do one more damage-tower
and two support-towers, just make sure your support towers are able to fill in
enough damage output to kill the Grave Digger. Intermediate Mode is mainly special just for
the amount of spam of enemies you see, so using crowd-control towers is your best bet here. You’re
probably still a Beginner if you’re taking on this gamemode, but I can see Intermediate Players play
this gamemode alone, as well. I would start off with one or two early-damage towers to ensure you
can keep up with the mode’s pacing, and then bring a crowd-control tower, if those two early-damage
towers aren’t enough to deal with the hordes of enemies. Lastly, leave that last slot for
a support-tower, and you can also optionally swap an early-damage tower for another support
tower. If you can deal with the enemy spam, you’re basically good here, so don’t worry.
Molten Mode is similar to Intermediate mode, just harder and has a few more enemy gimmicks,
and generally feels like an easier Fallen. I’d go with the same advice as intermediate mode here,
you just may need more advanced towers (since you’re close to being an Advanced Player)
there are better options at early-defending or support than others, like how Brawler outclasses
Warden in early-damage, and how Minigunner outclasses Militant in terms of solid damage.
For Fallen, like I just mentioned, it’s basically a harder Molten Mode, so I’d recommend you’d get
two early-defense towers, one that you can place a few of in the beginning, and another
that can defend the Early-to-Middle game. You’d likely need one or two support towers, and I’d
definitely recommend one of them to be Farm, as you’ll also be able to tell that Farm will be used
in a lot of our preset loadouts. Lastly, bring a heavy crowd-control damage tower like Mortar,
Rocketeer, or even Pursuit to ensure that the Fallen enemy-spam doesn’t catch you lacking.
Now, Hardcore isn’t typically a mode you’d solo, but it’s still very possible to triumph solo
Hardcore, due to the fact that it still isn’t reworked…developers, we need that rework really
soon. Because even a dumbo like me was able to solo Hardcore recently with the meta towers.
From what I’ve learned about Hardcore, though, is this: If you want to be able to solo it,
you need to focus on getting past Wave 25 in order to even get a shot at killing the Void Reaver at
Wave 50. Waves 1 through 25 are arguably the most strategically difficult part of solo’ing Hardcore.
You’ll need a good source of Hidden Detection by Wave 10 for the invisibles, Flying Detection
by Wave 12 for the balloons, Lead Detection by Wave 14 for the Leads and STUPID Lead Bosses,
a good source of damage/DPS by Wave 18 for the Mega Slow, and yet another sufficient source
of Hidden Detection for the nasty 3 Shadow Bosses that appear on Wave 25. There is a
combination of towers that we will go over that can deal with these no problem, now you’d just
need to worry about getting two good sources of DPS to deal with the bosses and Void Reaver. If
you already have a bunch of good DPS Towers, then I’d recommend bringing Commander, that way you can
constantly give your troops a 50% fire-rate buff, amplifying your DPS by multitudes.
Onto the Special Gamemodes, we’re not going to cover Badlands II, because although it has
been solo’d, I’d recommend you just check out the Quad-Silly Quickdraw Document Strategy instead.
But as for Pizza Party, that is a mode that is relatively easy to solo on your own. The only
issues you’ll really have to deal with in this gamemode is the buffed amount of health that the
different enemies have. After that, it’s really just the Balloon Boys requiring Flying Detection,
and a lot of needed DPS in order to deal with other bosses like the Commander that comes at
Wave 25. I’d recommend Ranger to deal with the damage and the Flying Detection, Commander to
boost your DPS, and 2 more damage towers that you can use as fast as possible, DJ Booth for economy
and extra buffs would also be significantly advantageous when solo’ing this gamemode.
Lastly, as for Polluted Wastelands II, it has received many tweaks and reworks,
but now, even Polluted Wastelands II is able to be solo’d, even with No Special Towers! It is a very
quick-paced gamemode, as it only has 25 waves, compared to other gamemodes with over 30. Anyway,
this gamemode’s gimmick isn’t needing to utilize all detections (like Hardcore),
but rather attempting to deal with as much enemy spam and high-health enemies as possible.
So, now that the solo loadout-guides are in place, what about playing with other players? Well,
for the survival gamemodes, it doesn’t matter what level you’re at in the game,
it is most likely you can handle Easy and Casual Mode on your own. For modes beyond that,
it is nice to have other players to play with you to ensure that you can clear the rounds quicker
and efficiently. A general rule of thumb is that you don’t want to bring the same Support Towers,
unless it’s for personal benefit, like Farms. So far as damage towers go, it doesn’t really
matter how many players participate per round, you all can bring similar damage towers. It is also
definitely nice to have variety, such as plenty of towers that cover Hidden Detection, plenty that
cover Flying Detection, and so on, and so forth. With that, before we go onto the final section,
take a look at these two maps’ entrance areas. Which map seems like it has more efficient space,
meaning lots of towers can be placed in an efficient spot? If you chose Wrecked Battlefield,
you’re absolutely right! Not only does Wrecked Battlefield offer a lot of great placement spots,
but it also features lots of cliff spots and a long path, meaning towers like
Ranger can entirely thrive in this map. Alright. Enough with the yappity-yap,
although I do hope you sat through that, because it can help you with
your choices regarding towers, maps, gamemodes, and teammates, based on your skill level of TDS,
and what gamemode you plan to play. But here is what we’ve all been waiting for. What are the
PERFECT loadouts in each respective gamemode? Let’s get a-move on and figure that out NOW!
Starting off with our Solo loadouts, we’ve got the Newbie one already! This one is suited for beating
Easy Mode no problem, and is for all players that have literally just begun playing! However,
I just bamboozled y’all, because the Scout & Hunter duo is BACK again from the previous Perfect
Loadout to debut again! And you may be thinking, but it’s been almost an entire year, why is the
loadout still the same?! Well, they barely changed this mode at all, and a lot of the beginning parts
of TDS have been balanced for a while. Moving forward, we’ve got the Beginners
Perfect Loadout, AKA players that are basically between the Levels of 25 and 50. On your own,
you’re probably able to conquer Casual and even Intermediate mode, which is why you’re in luck,
here is what we got. We’ve got Rocketeer, Military Base, Ace Pilot, Freezer,
and Farm. There are already 2 meta-towers within this loadout, Rocketeer and Freezer,
alongside Farm. This loadout also offers Military Base & Ace Pilot, two GREAT options for damage
at this level. Hidden Detection doesn’t even become an issue for any of your towers that
may not unlock Hidden Detection because Ace Pilot grants this detection to all towers past Level 4!
But if that loadout is NOT enough for you, because you just want MORE and MORE power within your
loadout, you’re probably past Level 50, now being quite the ADVANCED player yourself! At this skill
level, you’re capable of solo’ing Molten or even FALLEN, all you need is a good loadout to get ‘ya
there! In this loadout, we’ve got Rocketeer again, Ranger, the W-Tier Tower of Advanced
Towers (GO CHECK THE VIDEO OUT), a Support-Slot, an Early-Damage Slot, and Farm again. The 3 preset
ones are self-explanatory, and the 3 of them are meta-towers as of right now. For the support-slot,
we’ve got a hierarchy of which Support Tower should be better than the other at this level,
and same for the Early-Damage. So, ideally, you’d fill the Support Slot with Commander or Freezer,
depending on if you want buffs or stunning. But we all know there are just a few more towers
you can unlock past the Advanced Level. These players that have unlocked all of the towers
are called the Super Advanced Players. The players that have ascended to the maximum,
having every tower they need to create the most PERFECT loadout for survival gamemodes anyone
has ever seen. This includes unlocking all of the level troops, yes, that also means spending over
35,000 coins on a tower like Gatling Gun just for the sake of owning it. All of the Hardcore Towers,
despite costing roughly 13,750 gems in total. But the PERFECT loadout that we’ve came up with, that
can defeat survival gamemodes as tough as Fallen, and probably one of the most versatile solo
loadouts out there, we’ve got…Rocketeer…Mercenary Base…Engineer/Commander…Brawler…and Farm. And
pay attention, here, because although being VERY similar to our last one,
there is plenty to go over with this new one. For the first few waves of a mode like Fallen,
you’re going to want the best Early-Damage tower, which is Brawler. Their cheap cost efficiency
alongside melee capabilities, repositioning, make them such a versatile tower to use. While you’re
using the Brawlers to fend off the first few waves, you’re able to sneak in a bit of farming to
get your economy up, because a tower like DJ Booth or Cowboy isn’t in a loadout like this one. Once
you get close to the Fallen Giant, you’re gonna want to start placing down Rocketeers. [Now] you
can start working toward your Mercenary Bases. What I didn’t mention is that Mercenary Base CAN
be interchangeable with other damage towers. By using THIS hierarchy of damage towers,
you can determine which one you feel is best for you. But Mercenary Base sits at the top of the
hierarchy since we’ve already got Rocketeer in our loadout. Anyway, this is the guide I’d recommend
you level them up in, and here is also an ideal unit-layout to use for each one to get instant
Flying Detection from the Riflemen, and a bit of splash from the Grenadiers. Now you can start to
max out your Rocketeers and then your Brawlers to ensure that you’ve maximized your current tower's
damage output before placing down Engineers or Commanders to increase your overall damage
output. I prefer Engineer in this loadout because Engineers alone deal sheer amounts of damage, at a
total of over 2,400 Damage Per Second, however, this slot is also similar to Mercenary Bases’
meaning you can either choose to bring another Damage Tower with you in this slot, like Ranger,
or you can choose to bring a Support Tower in this slot, like Commander or Electroshocker. I
recommend Engineer overall because it provides you with the extra DPS and Flying Detection
you’ll need to successfully kill the Fallen King and his annoying little flying minions.
Here is the summary of our best survival gamemode loadouts based on your disposition in the game.
But let’s check out some cool Hardcore and Special Gamemode best loadouts to end off this video!
For Hardcore, I already went over what’s needed in a loadout to clear Wave 25, and if you haven’t
figured it out already, the best combination of dealing with that is Medics and Mortar.
This loadout we’re about to show originates from this document strategy, so please check it out
and support the creators. Anyway, Medics are an extremely cheap way to get Early-Damage in while
covering Hidden and Lead Detection. Once you place a Mortar to Level 2 as soon as possible,
you’re able to deal with Flying Detection. Now is when we introduce Swarmer & Commander
into the mix, getting a Level 3 Swarmer instantly after getting six of these Medics to Level 4. You
can then get more Swarmers to max for the DPS, get the rest of your Mortars and max ‘em out,
max out your Commanders, and now we have room for Turrets, placing them around Commanders to
deal the most DPS possible, while only using up 3 placement slots. You’re now able to fill
the rest of the map with Swarmers, and with enough micro’ing medic, using Call of Arms,
and Swarmer’s Grenade abilities, you should narrowly beat the Void Reaver.
For a mode like Pizza Party, even bringing towers as simple as these, which are all non-special,
by the way, are capable of defeating this special gamemode on your own. Cowboys can efficiently
deal with the beginning waves & your economy, DJ Booth can be placed early for knockback,
more economy, or damage buffs, Rocketeer & Ranger are our sheer sources of damage,
and you can even throw in another Support Tower to aid the rest of your damage towers.
And lastly, so we can conclude the return of this video, we’ve got Polluted Wastelands
II. I’m not really sure why you’d want to solo this special gamemode,
unless you’re really looking for a challenge, but I hope you have access to some Special Towers,
because if not, then you’d probably need a beefy Skill Tree to do this without Special
Towers. According to this document strategy, so please credit them for this, this is the perfect
loadout that you can utilize to solo Polluted Wastelands 2. This strategy makes total sense,
because like I mentioned earlier, *Flashback: Anyway, this gamemode’s gimmick isn’t needing
to utilize all detections (like Hardcore), but rather attempting to deal with as much enemy
spam and high-health enemies as possible.*, rather than something like Badlands II that
features three entrances and triple the enemies. And with that, we’ve covered all of the preset
solo loadouts you’ll ever need, regardless of what skill level you’re at and regardless of
what gamemode you play. Just remember a perfect loadout DOES NOT guarantee an easy triumph,
you need to make sure you utilize the loadout accurately based on the game modes and goals
you’re trying to achieve in the game. But we hope this video was helpful for you. I had a ton of fun
recreating this video in a new and more efficient manner than last time. Please do leave a like and
subscribe, it helps us continue creating awesome TDS videos for you all. Have a wonderful day,
and let me know in the comments how well the loadout works for you!
