The Smallest Sunburn Ever! (GAME 10)
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Ooh,
this is something else. So, the name of
this map is something I'm very familiar
with where I live. Uh, it's Sunburn.
Okay, make sure you're wearing your your
suntan lotion if you go out in the hot
sun. Uh, we have Doubt in the Blue D
looking for a big comeback here and it
is uh Vikings for him. And then it is
Burgundians
for Tatau.
Uh, now usually there's more distance
between the players, but this is the
smallest Sunburn ever. [snorts] So, uh,
yeah. Um, naturally there's not a lot of
space, but compared to some of the other
maps we've seen, it feels a little bit
larger.
And so, you've got, um, this woodline
between the players,
and that's kind of a separator.
Makes it tough to move over to the
opponent. And there's tons of stone and
gold. But the idea is is you have stone
and gold on both sides. So if you get
like tower rushed or pushed on one side,
you can shift to the other.
You can wall off one side, push the
other. It's kind of tricky to decide on
where you go.
Oh, the other thing is there's also lots
of food. So there's three rhinos or
elephants. And with that and the
berries,
>> maybe a fast castle is doable.
Now, previously I didn't think a fast
castle was very viable, but there's at
least space to build things here,
>> but I would I would almost expect this
to be there is a meta forming here.
Maybe they use this food to go feudal
age for archers. I mean, Doubt Doubt
wants to win. There's money on the line.
He cares about your entertainment. But
>> what about you, Chad? If you were
playing, would you rather have
>> $15, an extra $15, and people be
slightly less entertained?
Or would you take uh I don't know 10
bucks lose
>> lose your pride and then have people
slightly more entertained.
>> Honestly, a $5 diff. It's technically a
$5 difference between winning each game.
It's not that much, but hey, $5 is $5.
Sir Gavin says money is greater than
your audience.
>> Damn. Sir Gavin's a sellout.
Sir Gavin would, I don't know, like go
to Facebook for two years for money or
something. Oh, sounds horrible.
>> Who would ever do that?
>> Just to be clear, I did not think money
was greater than my audience. I just
thought two years in the grand scheme of
things, in the grand scheme of life, in
the grand scheme of a 15-year career, I
didn't I I didn't mean it like that. I
wasn't trying to say I meant it like
that. It was I mean, I freaking cried,
okay? It was It was a lot going into it.
Anyways, we focused on the game. We
focus on the game. [clears throat]
Feel like this is a very important hill
here,
right directly between the two players.
It's actually less important than the
north in terms of the gold and stone
around though. This [snorts] is also an
important hill.
So,
Tata was double bit already. Only the
Burgundians can have that in dark age.
Honestly, Tat's got this tidy little
back area with stone, golds, berries.
He doesn't need to take any risks.
I guess Stout's stone is in his safe.
Hey, Hardy, can you please edit in a
treadmill for this zebra? [snorts]
YouTube will enjoy this. YouTube, if you
see this, please respect Hardy that he
actually did this instead of saying,
"No, that's ridiculous." We will have
this zebra on a treadmill. I hope. I
don't know where he's going. He's
getting his steps in for the day. Um,
tattoo walls this way. I wonder if Hardy
hates me sometimes. [laughter]
Cuz like I don't think he's here at the
moment cuz he didn't he didn't say
anything in chat,
but like he goes to the he goes to the
video, he goes to the to the workload,
and then he sees the edit button. and
he's like, "Oh, this is going to be a
really important addition." And then
it's like, "Put a treadmill there,
please."
It's fun. I enjoy it anyways. I think
Chad enjoys it.
Oh, hey, hey, hey. Oh, you ruined it,
Tat. What the Okay, well, he he's a big
Tata's close friend of Hardies. I think
Hardy paid him to do this.
I think Tat genuinely wants the extra
food, but he does have some food to work
with still.
But no military buildings for him yet.
We do have the barracks for doubt.
Barracks for doubt. He shifted most of
his villagers off of food and a lot
under wood.
So it does fall in line with my initial
prediction of maybe some range units.
And there goes the zebra.
But Tatau, no barracks yet. So this is a
fast castle.
I love this. I think if Tatau was
losing, he wouldn't do this, but this is
like a high-risk, highreward type
approach
and Tatau cares about you guys and and
having a fun series here. Tattoo knows
what a show match is. Tatau wants to be
invited back.
He wants us to be close.
It's risky.
I actually think he could maybe go fast
castle Flemish militia.
Tat sees the scout. Tatau will drop a
blacksmith.
Doubt will know what that means if he
sees the market.
There's the archery range from doubt.
But I mean, what does he actually
accomplish now that this is blocked off
and all of most of Tat's resources are
on the back?
It's an amazing map for Tat.
So, he is building a mining camp there.
We'll see if it's on stone and gold.
This might just be a bit of stone for
some defensive towers, but Tata will
probably click up. Doubt is Viking, so
he has wheelbarrow for free. Very
efficient eco, plenty of food. So,
castle age could still be pretty quick
for him, too.
But yeah, he's going to need to probably
do something here to to feel as though
he's not just behind.
>> We thought about an outpost over there.
Tat saw that and deleted his walls.
And now Tat will rewall that. And now
there's an outpost there from death.
Just to to get a peak at what's going on
back there.
>> He's doing the math. He's looking at the
stones. He's like, I have two.
There's one here and there's one here.
He might not know about the other one.
To be fair though, Tata's not taking it.
Uh, we're saying he says, "Hey T90, I
watched a YouTube video with Matzah." He
says, "I don't want to spoil you, but
there was a Hera Matza game yesterday
and something similar happened." We're
saying, "I don't want to spoil you, but
if you go to my YouTube channel right
now, there's a video called The Great
Stalemate Part Two,
and that very well may be the exact game
that you're telling me about.
Beat you to the punch, buddy. [laughter]
Don't worry, I'm already on it. It's
already on the channel.
>> [laughter]
>> It's a good game. Thanks for letting me
know.
>> Uh the the turnaround was pretty fast on
that compared to usual. So So
I I like what Doubt has done. He's he's
now shifting over this way to pressure
because going through the market would
take a lot of time.
Is there space for Tatau to build the
siege workshop?
Oh, he's going to go monastery. Okay.
I I mean monks have been really strong.
Oh, he can also fit a siege workshop.
He also saves the scout so he can heal
that up.
Doubt
>> we'll see the monastery. He'll see the
siege workshop. He'll place a tower
there.
Archers are actually stuck there. Can he
escape with those archers?
Dot eventually needs to get out of here
once the manganel is here, but I think
he has time to complete the tower. I
just need to know. Yeah. You see, his
archers were he was trying to bring them
in, but they're stuck right now.
There we go. That should fix it,
guys. This is what Tat sees. This is
freaking ridiculous. [laughter]
This is hilarious that this is the
scenario we're in. What in the world?
But hey, he kills two archers, easy.
And monks and manganels outrange
everything here, right? So that manganel
can just park itself right there. It
can't be hit by the towers cuz towers
are half range with the mod.
Both those towers will go down very
quickly. This monk can grab a relic.
That's going to hit that's going to feel
great because you get some food income
from relics with burgundians and he
needs food.
and doubt
is in a scenario where we might see a
rare stable switch
because castle is gonna it feels a
lifetime away.
I would like to see scouts here actually
but it feels so awkward. Oh man, he
loses an archer to the conversion. That
archer then shoots one of his friends.
Tat's value here is just insane as
Meganel's exposed.
Tat's even saving the scout. Oh my god.
T Oh my god,
the value T's getting from his units
right now is nuts. He got perfect Mangan
Elliots. He got perfect conversions,
perfect kills with the units he
converted. He only ended up losing one.
The only unit he lost was the archer he
converted.
That will be another Deadville.
This will be another dead tower. And now
Doubt's on the way to Castle Age. But
like 800 food invested into castle age
instead of 800 food maybe into like a
bunch of scouts
feels a little risky. Then again,
the second Tat sees that Tat could maybe
add spears. It's never
never that simple.
Ninja in chat says, "Why do I get a
feeling that T90 is so biased against
doubt?" Bro, I know you're not trying to
tilt me right now, but let me rant. Look
at the KD. What am I as a caster
supposed to do? Okay. If if it's not
looking good for a player, I have to
cast the game because it's not looking
good for that player. Would you like me
to then be like, "Oh, things are very
rosy here for Doubt. Things are looking
good." When they're not. Sorry, we
continue. I [clears throat] got one
guide.
I love Doubt. Doubt's one of my favorite
players. Come on, man.
Sorry, that was not that individual's
comment. That was an accumulation of a
hundred comments I've heard over my
career just like that, you know.
So, as I was saying, guys, things are
looking amazing for doubt. I don't think
town centers are important
and honestly, castage isn't really that
valuable anyways. I would say it's
overrated.
So, uh, he loses another archer,
but archers are overrated, too. He does
get a kill there. That's nice.
again. He might not make it to Castle H,
but Oh, he does have the scouts here.
Okay, genuinely serious mode now. He
does have the scouts. Could maybe
engage.
Maybe.
I really like the market in the north
from doubt. To be able to use that
and not lose it is sick.
That was smart thinking. That was maybe
one of the be better things he's done.
Okay, makes it to castle. Moment of
truth.
He went to castle age for lyav. He has
the upgrade on the way.
What the
the z It's so bad for doubt the zebras
are trying to get out of here. Scorpion
edition for tat. He hasn't actually
added spears though,
but he does have that monk locked in
before light cav. He gets the conversion
and he gets the kill, bro.
Tat's value has been crazy
and scorpions are are not bad because
they do pass through damage
and Viking light cav
bloodlines so they're pretty squishy.
T's micro has been unbelievable. He
understands the assignment and honestly
he hasn't produced vills really at all
in castle age. So, it has been full
focus, full micro,
but even still, like to to have it be
this good, [screaming]
even if you're doing nothing else is
impressive. Things start to get a little
weird for him. He loses some monks there
to the light cave.
That's okay. That's that's okay for
doubt,
but it's definitely an at what cost
situation because he does have to lose
his vills for this.
Tato has the villager lead now. Like Cap
for Doubt are weak, but they'll kill
some monks.
Um
well,
I mean, Tatau doesn't have much army
anymore. Doubt doesn't have a town
center,
but they're both in really bad positions
now.
And this is actually a game.
Damn. I mean, doubt is 20 bills.
He's He's buying all his food income.
Tau has 28 bills,
I guess. Like monks doesn't feel great
for him. He still probably do some maybe
some scorpions
could be good.
Okay, there's there's the um there's the
castle now for Tattoo.
Also, zebras. This is uh the viewers who
thought I was biased against out
leaving.
They're still they're still not happy
with me, but they're still like right on
the brink of leaving, but they still got
to keep their eye on the stream right
now. Um,
I mean, I love the idea Tat needs a unit
other than Monk and Scorpion,
but if Doubt adds monks,
again, Viking monks are not great, but
the Viking monks can actually convert
the custilier, and that's a pretty big
swing. Remember, castles have half
range, so I mean it is extra protection
for Tatau, but
it's not a huge amount of protection.
And yeah, scary times for the for the
unit. Doubt when I'll dive. He's not
scared of the castle. He doesn't get the
conversion. And
his units are really weak.
Really weak. Oh no. Oh, that was so good
for Tatau.
And doubt is no way to produce more
villagers, guys. His eco is very weak
and he quicks up here. But the monk
going for the conversion will be found
by the scorpion and it will die.
The light cav here do kill a villager
and GG's called.
Um sorry about the rant. I was I I was
only partially real. Um we still have
more games. We still have one more game.
Kata does officially win the show match.
That was a fun one though.
That is one of the rare times Fast
Castle has actually worked in these tiny
maps between these two. Uh the
difference was probably the map. Um I
think like having the res on the back
certainly played a role, but Doubt also
had res on the back and Doubt could have
maybe used that. I think Doubt just
realized that the last couple winners
has been the players who played archers
and and played feudal so he tried to to
go for that. Um,
I love Tat's micro. Tat got some crazy
value around the time that I went off uh
and got one guide. It was a 7 to1 KD,
which you never know how much of that is
calculated and how much of that is luck
cuz it's monks. But there was a a fair
dose of that. Like this is the one
that's luck. He we'll give him credit.
Say he realizes the one is weak and
doesn't convert that. But he gets this
conversion
and then immediately that archer fires.
He's like, "These guys have been pals
for years." And then later just one
shots him. And not only that, remember
this scout was on 2 HP before and he
healed it up like 3 minutes ago. So then
the scout's attacking.
Scout ends up attacking the archer. He
actually heals this scout. Then watch
this. He heals the scout last second,
saves it again.
I think the only unit he ended up losing
here was this archer. He also is then
attack rounding these vills.
Yeah. And then someone said I was biased
against
I don't know why it annoys me so much.
It's not that big a deal. Um, GG
