My Campaign is Over.

hey everyone meet kevin paffreck here

tomorrow is election day and i will be

voting in person

yes to recall governor newsom and yes

i'm kevin paffrath that's me

in this video i want to thank you

sincerely and share a strong message

with you

seriously thank you to the millions of

you who support me we've been through so

much together and no matter what happens

win or lose i will never leave youtube

in fact i got a mug

it says it right here

i'm not effing leaving

that's true

because i would be a hypocrite to

forsake what has been good to me whether

that's an exception to the norm or not i

think i would be a hypocrite to not

fight

for california and to not continue to

fight

for youtube financial education

transparency

trying to make sense of the world around

us congress the news what's happening

with with economic data or macro or

micro economic changes or opportunities

to to build our wealth and to get better

together it would be wrong of me

to leave anything behind so i'm not

leaving it's the same is true in

california as it is on youtube so no

matter what i'm not going anywhere

but i want to say

we've been through a whole lot together

a lot i was not expecting this what i'm

about to say i don't know that anybody

could have predicted

when i first announced my candidacy to

run against gavin newsom here on youtube

and on instagram my announcement post

was deleted by facebook for quote

a mistake

yet facebook has also donated over 30

million dollars to or on behalf of

governor newsom over the last three

years

but that nonsense didn't stop me from

fighting

when i applied to go on the ballot as

kevin meet kevin paffrath to include my

nickname in the middle of my name

i was banned by a democratic judge

the right to use my nickname

despite a sumo wrestler getting to use

their stage name on the ballot in 2003

and the law the law giving me the right

to have my nickname on the ballot

yet when i fought in court

in sacramento's

democratic california courtroom

i still lost

but that didn't stop me from fighting

some people said i'm running this

campaign for views or more money

apparently those people haven't looked

at the publicly available statistics of

socialblade.com to see my views decline

my average posts per month decline my

course or affiliate or revenue sales

decline revenue numbers and general

decline or the nasty or extreme comments

i get in the political minefield that

we've now opened up because i've

announced a candidacy to help serve the

community

the subscriber growth stalling

after

entering the nasty world of politics

that didn't stop me from fighting none

of that stopped me from fighting

neither did the fact that out of over

200 interviews that i did in this

campaign

often at least 30 minutes long each

my uh

explaining my transparent common sense

and bold plans

but then ending up having those plans

summarized in

one-line mentions and articles

calling my visions quote too extreme or

too bold to solve california's problems

as if california doesn't need extreme

help as if people dying on the streets

is remotely acceptable or not having

affordable housing or having schools in

the bottom 20 of our country not having

enough water in the state and not being

able to manage our forests

to where our forests are burning up

not just our forests but our land our

homeland where our homes are people are

losing their lives

but hey the media didn't stop me from

fighting

when the governor called this and

branded this election as a republican

recall despite me fighting as a jfk

style centrist democrat

i didn't get discouraged

that didn't stop me from fighting either

three weeks ago

cnn boldly lied about my existence

saying quote no democrat is challenging

the governor

even though at the time i was neck and

neck with larry elder running against

gavin newsom in the polls

that didn't stop me from fighting either

i've been kicked out of democratic party

events and blacklisted by democratic

attorneys fundraisers campaign managers

all because the dictator party i mean

the democratic party

didn't want somebody challenging the

existing governor because oh my gosh how

dare someone challenge

the failure of a governor california has

had

oh no

wouldn't want free and fair elections

where people have the opportunity to uh

compete and voters can vote on policy

not on fear or

misleading advertising

or advertisements

but that didn't stop me from fighting

i've raised one percent as much money as

governor newsom

he's raised about 80 million dollars

three million dollars directly from the

co-ceo of netflix who was exempted from

covert lockdown rules

surprise surprise

businesses that didn't donate to

governor newsom they were left uh facing

lockdowns and potential bankruptcy since

one third of california's restaurants

went bankrupt during the pandemic

but hey money didn't stop me from

fighting either

i've matched

almost all donations in fact i think by

the latest count all

donations to my campaign

dollar for dollar with my own personal

money

it's not a campaign for money

it's a campaign for change

but having less money than governor

newsom didn't stop me from fighting

twitter has twice refused to verify me

as a candidate

despite meeting all the requirements and

more

but hey

that didn't stop me from fighting

my tire getting slashed and car getting

keyed after i announced my candidacy or

creepy people coming to my house

also didn't stop me from fighting

look

i'm not fighting for the sake of

fighting i'm not fighting to fight i'm

fighting because if i don't who will

some politician who's going to repay all

of his or her lobbyist friends

it's time for a fresh start

restoring politics to what it should be

not extreme fighting of the left

fear-mongering the right or extreme

fighting of the right making fun of the

left

but common sense

common sense policies better schools

teaching financial education mental

health ending homelessness building more

homes getting enough water to california

dealing with our fires collaboration

instead of cynicism transparency instead

of backdoor deals bringing the

transparency of youtube to government

big bold efforts instead of tiny pet

projects to get politicians through the

next election cycle they're too fearful

of change they fear change

i don't want to be a career politician

i just want to make california a great

place for my children and hopefully my

ideas can be shared and implemented in

california by either me

or someone else

because what helps california doesn't

just help california it's the largest

state by population in the country it

helps all

of those in our country

now we might not agree on everything
