Your Morning Will Decide Your Life | Powerful Islamic Motivation | Mufti Menk Style
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Alhamdulillah.
Peace and blessings be upon him. My
beloved brothers and sisters, let me
begin with a simple but life-changing
truth. Your mornings decide the
direction of your life. The way you
rise, the way you start your day, the
choices you make in those early hours,
they set the tone for everything that
follows. If your morning is filled with
light, your day will shine. But if your
morning is filled with heedlessness, the
whole day becomes heavy and
unproductive. Think about it for a
moment. Why is it that Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala made salah the very first act
of worship in our daily schedule? Why
did he choose to begin our day with
prayer, with submission, with humility?
It is because the morning is the
foundation of everything that comes
after it. Just as a building cannot
stand strong without a solid foundation,
your life cannot stand firm without a
strong morning. When the believer begins
the morning with the call of the adhan
when they rise from their sleep for
fudger when they wash themselves with
wudoo stand before Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala and place their forehead on the
ground in sujud that is not just prayer
that is a declaration for the entire day
it is a statement that says ya Allah my
day belongs to you my time belongs to
you my life belongs to you and subhan
allah the prophet Muhammad peace and
blessings be upon him taught us that the
baraka blessing of the ummah is placed
in the early morning hours. If you want
productivity, if you want success, if
you want peace of heart, start with the
morning. But many of us, my beloved
brothers and sisters, we fall into a
trap. We begin our mornings with our
phones. The very first thing we do is
scroll through messages, emails or
social media, before we even say
alhamdulillah for waking up alive, we
are already filling our hearts with
comparison, anxiety, and distraction.
And then we wonder why am I not at
peace? Why do I feel empty? Why is my
day so heavy? The answer is simple.
Because you gave your morning to the
dunya instead of giving it to Allah. Now
imagine another scenario. You rise
before sunrise. The world is quiet.
Everyone else is still asleep. You raise
your hands in dua and whisper to your
creator, "Ya Allah, thank you for
granting me life again after death. I
begin this day with you." You pray
fudger. You open the Quran. You read
even a few verses and you allow Allah's
words to touch your heart. That morning
is not ordinary. That morning is filled
with angels with tranquility with light
that will carry you throughout the day.
The Quran itself tells us indeed the
recitation of the Quran at fud is ever
witnessed. Surah al-I is 1778. Who
witnesses it? The angels of Allah. They
record it. They surround you. They pray
for you. So when you begin with Quran at
fudger time, you are not alone. The
heavens themselves are connected to your
day. Think of it like planting a seed.
The morning is the soil. If you plant
the seed of salah, Quran and remembrance
of Allah, you will harvest peace,
success, and guidance throughout the
day. But if you plant the seed of
negligence, sleeping past faj, rushing
through your morning, chasing the dunya,
then your harvest will be stress,
regret, and emptiness. And brothers and
sisters, let us also remember that our
mornings are not just about salah, but
about focus. The prophet Muhammad, peace
and blessings be upon him, would make
dua in the morning asking Allah to bless
his time, his family and his sustenance.
He taught us the morning, simple phrases
like subhan Allah, alhamdulillah,
Allah abar that protect us, shield us
and strengthen our hearts for the entire
day. If only we understood their value,
we will would never neglect them. But
here is the sad reality. Many of us are
losing our mornings. We stay up late
into the night wasting hours on
entertainment, gossip or endless
distractions. Then when fajger arrives,
we are too tired, too weak, too lazy to
rise. We tell ourselves, "Tomorrow I'll
do better, but tomorrow comes and the
cycle repeats." And slowly the baraka of
our lives is taken away. My beloved
brothers and sisters, I say this with
love. If you want to change your life,
change your mornings. Make it a habit to
sleep early. Make it a priority to rise
for fudger. Even if it's difficult in
the beginning, push yourself because the
sweetness of a morning spent with Allah
cannot be compared to the emptiness of a
morning spent with the dunya. Remember,
success in this world and the next does
not come by accident. It comes through
discipline, through consistency, and
through connecting your heart with Allah
at the very start of the day. Wake up
with purpose. Wake up with Quran. Wake
up with salah. And you will see your
mornings will shape your destiny. My
beloved brothers and sisters, after
understanding the importance of starting
your day with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
let us now talk about the habits that
make your mornings full of baraka. It is
not enough to simply know that the
morning is powerful. You must live it,
practice it, and protect it. Because if
you lose your mornings, you lose your
peace. And if you guard your mornings,
you will guard your life. Let us reflect
on a few habits that every believer
should embrace. Discipline and order.
One of the most important habits in the
morning is discipline. Islam is a faith
built upon discipline. Think about it.
The five daily prayers are fixed at
specific times, not whenever we feel
like it. Fasting has its start and end
times. Even Hajj is performed in
specific days. Why? Because discipline
trains the soul to obey even when I it
is inconvenient. Waking up for fudger is
perhaps the first act of discipline in
your day. When the alarm rings, your
soul whispers, stay in bed. sleep a
little longer. But your iman calls you
rise because Allah is calling you. And
in that moment, you choose discipline
over comfort. That choice sets the tone
for your entire day. If you can win the
battle of your bed in the morning, you
can win the battles of your life.
Gratitude at sunrise. Another beautiful
habit is to begin your day with shuk
gratitude. When you open your eyes after
sleep, the first words on your tongue
should be alhamdulillah.
All praise is due to Allah who gave us
life after he caused us to die and to
him is the return. Why gratitude?
Because it shifts your heart. It reminds
you that life itself is a gift. That
breath you just took, you did not earn
it. Allah gave it to you. And when you
start your day by recognizing his favor,
he increases your blessings. The prophet
Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon
him said, "Whoever wakes up safe in his
home, healthy in his body and with food
for his day, it is as if he owns the
whole world." Subhan Allah. Many of us
chase the world. But every morning,
Allah already gives us the treasures of
life, safety, health, and sustenance. If
only we realized it. Quran in the
morning. My beloved brothers and
sisters, one of the greatest secrets of
a blessed morning is Quran. Allah
himself says, "Indeed, the recitation of
Quran at fud is ever witnessed. ayah
17:78.
This is why scholars, saints, and
righteous people throughout history gave
special attention to the Quran in the
morning. Even if you read only a single
page or a few verses, do it consistently
because what you feed your soul in the
morning will echo through your entire
day. Imagine two people. One begins his
morning with social media, news, gossip,
and endless distractions. His heart is
filled with noise. The other begins with
Quran. His heart is filled with light.
Who do you think will have more peace,
more clarity, more baraka, time
management? The morning hours are
golden. They are when your mind is
fresh, your body is rested and your
heart is still soft. If you waste these
hours, you are wasting the best part of
your day. Our beloved prophet peace and
blessings be upon him used to make dua.
Oh Allah, bless my ummah in the early
mornings. That means your work, your
studies, your projects, your family
tasks. Do them early. Don't delay until
the day is gone. Unfortunately, many of
us invert the natural order. We stay up
late, waste the night, and then sleep
through the morning. But the most
successful people in Dunya and Akira
were those who cherish the morning. They
worked, planned, and achieved during
those blessed hours. So, one of the
greatest habits you can adopt is to
organize your life around your salah,
especially fudge. Plan your tasks after
it. Make a to-do list. Focus on what
matters and you will see Allah put
baraka in your time. Morning and dua.
Another priceless habit is to engage
inkar remembrance of Allah in the
morning. The prophet Muhammad peace and
blessings be upon him taught us the
adkar sabah. Morning remembrances. These
are not just words. They are shields.
They protect you from harm, bring peace
to your heart and invite blessings into
your life. Phrases like
If you make it a habit to recite these
every morning, you will walk through
your day with an armor that protects you
from despair, stress, and even harm from
shaitan. My beloved brothers and
sisters, mourning are sacred. They are
gifts. If you discipline yourself, if
you fill them with Quran, gratitude,
dikur, and purposeful action, your life
will transform. You will notice more
peace, more energy, more clarity and
more blessings. But if you waste your
mornings, you waste your life. That is
the reality. So guard them, protect
them, make them the most beautiful part
of your day. Because in truth, your
mornings decide your life. My beloved
brothers and sisters, if mornings are
such a treasure, then the greatest
tragedy is to neglect them. Many of us
do not realize it, but the way we treat
our mornings is a reflection of our
priorities. Think for a moment. How
often do we stay awake late into the
night wasting hours on meaningless
things and then sleep through fudger?
How often do we wake up with the sun
already high, rushing through the day
with no peace, no focus, no blessing.
This neglect is not just about missing a
prayer. It is about missing life itself.
The loss of salah. The greatest loss of
neglecting the morning is losing salat
al fajar. This is the prayer that the
prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be
upon him described as better than the
world and all it contains. Subhan Allah.
And yet how many people trade this
treasure for an extra hour of sleep.
When you miss fudger, you are not just
missing a prayer. You are missing
protection, light, and guidance. The
prophet peace and blessings be upon him
said, "Whoever prays fudger is under the
protection of Allah." Imagine beginning
your day shielded by Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala himself. And imagine the
opposite. Walking into the world without
his protection simply because you chose
sleep over salah. My beloved brothers
and sisters, fudger is not just a duty.
It is a gift. And neglecting it is like
throwing away a treasure chest given to
you every six morning. The loss of
baraka in time. Neglecting mornings also
robs you of baraka in time. Have you
noticed that when you wake up late, your
entire day feels short, rushed and
unproductive. You try to do many things
but achieve very little. But when you
rise early, even if you have the same
hours, you achieve more with less stress
and with greater peace. That is baraka.
It is not about how many hours you have,
but how much blessing Allah places in
those hours. The prophet, peace and
blessings be upon him made dua for his
ummah. Oh Allah, bless my nation in
their early mornings. Yet sadly, many of
us abandon that blessing by sleeping
through it. The loss of mental and
spiritual peace. Neglecting the morning
also affects your heart and your mind.
When you start the day late, you begin
with guilt, stress, and rush. You feel
behind, your mind is scattered, and your
heart is heavy. Compare this to the
peace of someone who prays fajger,
recites Quran, makes and then begins
their tasks. Their mind is clear, their
heart is light, their body is energized.
One person begins their day chasing the
world. The other begins their day with
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. The
difference between them is the
difference between peace and chaos. The
loss of opportunities. My beloved
brothers and sisters, life is made up of
opportunities. Every morning is a door
to new chances, new blessings, new
beginnings. But when you waste the
morning, you shut those doors before
they even open. How many business ideas,
study goals, acts of worship or family
moments have been lost simply because
the morning was wasted? How many
opportunities slipped away because the
person was asleep when Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala had written something
beautiful for them? Time does not wait.
Opportunities do not knock twice. If you
neglect the morning, you may lose
treasures that will never return. When
you neglect mornings, you train your
soul to love laziness. And laziness is
the enemy of faith. The prophet Muhammad
peace and blessings be upon him used to
seek refuge from laziness saying, "Oh
Allah, I seek refuge in you from
incapacity and laziness." Why? Because
laziness destroys both your dunya and
your aka. A believer is meant to live
with purpose, energy, and drive. But if
your morning begins with neglect, the
rest of your day often follows the same
pattern.
Soon it becomes a lifestyle. Days turn
into weeks, weeks into months, and
months into years of wasted potential.
And then one day you look back and
realize that your entire life was lost.
Not because you didn't have time, but
because you didn't value your mornings.
A wakeup call. My beloved brothers and
sisters, neglecting mornings is like a
silent thief. It steals your salah, your
time, your peace, your opportunities,
and your discipline. And the worst part
is it does it quietly. You may not even
notice until years have passed. That is
why the scholars would say, "Whoever
loses the morning has lost the day and
whoever loses the day has lost the
life." So ask yourself sincerely, how
are you treating your mornings? Are you
guarding them as treasures or are you
throwing them away carelessly? The good
news is it is never too late. Even if
you have been neglecting your mornings
for years, you can begin today. Rise for
recite Quran. Make a dick. Plan your
tasks. Guard your mornings. And you will
see how your life transforms.
My beloved brothers and sisters, do not
let mornings slip away unnoticed.
Protect them, value them, and treat them
as the most precious part of your day.
Because truly your morning will decide
your life. My beloved brothers and
sisters, we have spoken about the value
of mornings, the habits that bring
baraka and the dangers of neglect. But
now let us imagine the beauty, the power
and the transformation that comes when
your morning is connected to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala. This connection is
not just about one prayer or one act. It
is about starting your day on the
foundation of faith, gratitude and
purpose. And when you do this, the
effects ripple across your dunya and
your a morning that brings light to your
day. When you begin your morning with
Allah, your entire day shines with
light. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in
the Quran is the one who was dead and we
gave him life and made for him a light
by which he walks among the people like
one who is in darkness never to emerge
from it. Six Psalm 122.
This light is not just physical. It is
the light of clarity in your mind, peace
in your heart and guidance in your
choices. Have you noticed how some
people face the same struggles as
everyone else? Yet they remain calm,
patient and hopeful. That is the light
of a morning connected to Allah. They
may have challenges but they walk with
light. While others panic, they remain
steady. While others complain, they
remain grateful. This is the difference
of starting the day with Allah. A
morning that multiplies your baraka. My
beloved brothers and sisters, when your
morning is connected to Allah, you will
see blessings in places you never
expected. Your health improves because
your body is aligned with the natural
rhythm Allah designed. Your work becomes
easier because Allah places baraka in
your time. Your relationships improve
because your heart is calmer and more
patient. And even your wealth increases
because you start your day with honesty,
integrity and gratitude. Early hours
that baraka is real. It means you may
achieve in one hour of the morning what
others cannot achieve in an entire day.
A morning that strengthens your iman.
Every morning you have a choice to feed
your soul or to starve it. When you wake
up and immediately reach for the Quran
or bow your head in dua or recite, you
are feeding your soul. You are
strengthening your iman and that iman
becomes your shield throughout the day.
But if you wake up and the first thing
you do is scroll on your phone, check
messages or worry about dunya, then your
heart becomes restless before the day
even begins. My beloved brothers and
sisters, a morning connected to Allah is
like charging your heart with faith.
Just as your phone cannot last the day
without being charged, your iman cannot
last the struggles of life without being
recharged every morning. A morning that
prepares you for the Akira, this dunya
is temporary. Every morning you wake up
is a reminder that one day you will not.
One day your eyes will close for the
last time. One day your mourning will be
in the grave. That is why a morning
connected to Allah is so powerful. It
reminds you of your purpose. It trains
you to live not only for today but for
eternity. The prophet Muhammad peace and
blessings be upon him said, "Remember
often the destroyer of pleasures,
death." Each morning you wake up, you
have another chance to prepare, another
chance to repent, another chance to do
good, another chance to plant seeds for
Jenna. So when you begin your morning
with salah, Quran and you are not only
preparing for your dunya, you are
investing in your a morning that
transforms your perspective. A morning
with Allah changes how you see life
itself. Suddenly your problems appear
smaller because you have placed them in
front of Allah who is greater than them
all because you know he's the one
carrying your burdens. Your goals feel
clearer because you align them with his
pleasure. Imagine a person who wakes up
prays fer makes dua reads Quran and
steps into the day saying ya Allah guide
me protect me bless me. Now imagine
another person who wakes up late, misses
Salah, rushes through the morning and
begins with stress, guilt, and chaos.
Who do you think will live with more
peace, success, and contentment?
My beloved brothers and sisters, a
morning connected to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala is the secret to a life of peace,
clarity, and blessing. It transforms
your dunya by making you productive,
focused, and grateful. And it transforms
your by filling your book of deeds with
salah, Quran and sincerity. So ask
yourself, what kind of morning do I want
to live with? And remember the answer to
that question is the answer to how you
will live your life.
