0:00

hey everyone me Kevin here I just

0:02

realized a massive Paradox on my YouTube

0:05

channel and it's something I want to

0:07

share with you because it's created

0:10

quite a bit of a struggle for me but I I

0:12

think I have the solution I want to know

0:15

your opinion on it after I explain this

0:17

Paradox and it's wild it's something I

0:19

would have never expected so

0:21

back in the day people would always

0:24

leave comments to be like CAD then you

0:27

post like five videos a day you should

0:31

focus on quality over quantity and so

0:36

people regularly say that when they see

0:39

a lot of quantity and maybe don't

0:41

necessarily consider that it is possible

0:44

to have quality and quantity but forget

0:47

that for a moment instead consider this

0:50

what I realized over the last few weeks

0:53

of trying this thing out where I make

0:56

one video that has a good amount of

0:59

information but then has some nice

1:01

visual editing to it where it's got some

1:03

more b-roll or it's got some nice

1:04

overlays where we spend more time

1:06

editing it and then presenting maybe a

1:09

better uh put together video what I

1:12

actually found is the more time we spent

1:15

in editing the lower the

1:19

sort of newsiness of the video was which

1:23

to some extent actually lowered some of

1:25

the quality because the information was

1:27

delayed but it wasn't just that I

1:30

noticed when I was posting less videos I

1:33

actually would have to choose what

1:36

information to put in the video so I'm

1:38

putting out net less information

1:42

and on top of that what I'm putting out

1:45

less information I'm spending more time

1:47

explaining information to sort of a

1:50

broader audience to catch people up to

1:52

the same level of understanding where

1:54

maybe us regular viewers already are and

1:56

then that's redundant to the regular

1:58

viewers so there's this really weird

2:00

Paradox that I discovered on my para on

2:03

my channel where essentially if I post

2:05

fewer videos the visual quality might be

2:10

higher but the actual quality I think is

2:14

lower because you're getting less depth

2:16

and you're getting less timeliness so

2:20

you're getting later information with

2:22

less depth but it is more visually

2:25

appealing and then I realized what kind

2:28

of drove me in that direction was well

2:30

first of all those people leaving

2:31

comments like oh my gosh you post five

2:33

videos a day

2:34

quality over quantity but then also that

2:39

same sort of level of simplicity

2:43

finding myself affected by it seeing

2:45

these other YouTube content creators who

2:48

could make a video and kind of do the

2:50

the sit down

2:52

guys

2:53

you need to hustle

2:56

yeah and then all of a sudden they get

2:58

like a million views and it's like what

3:00

what did I just watch you spent like 10

3:02

minutes watching a video you're like

3:03

what the hell I learned absolutely

3:05

nothing except oh yeah man that guy's

3:08

cool and I'm gonna be a you know top G

3:11

what the hell so

3:15

I gotta realize I I'm I'm not gonna

3:17

cater to that audience I've I've got to

3:20

cater to people in my opinion who are

3:22

doctors attorneys and people who value

3:25

their time more so than somebody who has

3:28

a lot of time and every video they watch

3:31

they want in-depth new information I and

3:34

I think I'm resonating with my audience

3:37

and saying that most of you like Kevin I

3:40

want the Deep dive perspective I'm not

3:42

getting on CNBC or Bloomberg or fox or

3:45

CNN whatever we don't have to agree all

3:47

the time but I want

3:48

as quickly as possible the most valuable

3:51

information and if I choose to watch

3:54

more of your content then give me that

3:57

option

3:58

so I think I've

4:00

at the same time as discovering this

4:03

sort of meet Kevin Paradox I'm going to

4:04

call it which the meet Kevin Paradox is

4:07

the less I post

4:09

the less quality which is weird right so

4:12

in other words the more I post

4:15

it and if there's a limit to this

4:16

obviously if I post 100 videos a day the

4:18

quality is going to suffer again I think

4:20

it's like a bell curve right so the bell

4:22

curve is probably like three or four

4:24

videos a day is probably like top

4:26

quality and Top Value and then if I post

4:28

you know 10 videos a day that that

4:30

quality starts suffering again right

4:31

whereas I post one video a day or one

4:33

video every two days it's it's too

4:35

little so that's probably the meet Kevin

4:37

Paradox curve we're discovering this

4:39

together but the second thing is uh well

4:42

of course I have to respect my audience

4:44

as well and I I think I have a grasp so

4:46

correct me if I'm wrong but the other

4:47

thing that I've realized is I've

4:49

actually felt anxious again and this is

4:52

really weird because

4:54

when I've been doing the meet Kevin

4:56

report I had no anxiety it was great it

4:59

was like 90 days of no anxiety and now

5:01

that was really hard because it was

5:03

waking up at three or four a.m every

5:06

single day to provide for a one to two

5:09

hour live stream in the morning and and

5:11

try to get that content out uh and while

5:13

providing high quality value I'm always

5:15

thinking value per minute I've got to

5:17

respect the people who are watching you

5:18

know these aren't high schoolers with a

5:20

lot of time nothing against high

5:21

schoolers but these are people with

5:22

lives and children like get to the point

5:24

and so what's weird is when I was doing

5:26

the me Kevin report no anxiety before me

5:29

Kevin report anxiety after me Kevin

5:31

report anxiety so in other words I got I

5:34

I gotta flip-flop again I gotta go back

5:37

to the meet Kevin report and now I I

5:38

know that and I apologize for this you

5:41

know I I I know that I may it may seem

5:44

like I changed my mind a lot on the

5:46

channel because well I do and it may

5:48

seem like I'm inconsistent because well

5:49

lately I have been but it's because I'm

5:51

constantly trying to figure out

5:53

what's the right answer and there's

5:55

really no role model for me I'm trying

5:59

to figure this all out alone there's no

6:00

role model for house hack there's no

6:02

role model for a YouTuber with an ETF

6:05

there's no role model for somebody

6:06

making a an AI productivity course

6:09

rather than here are 10 tools to use

6:11

that'll make you more productive and

6:13

then you're like no they don't right so

6:16

like there's no there's no precedent for

6:18

this but there's also no precedent for

6:20

live streaming content and bringing this

6:23

deep dive financial analysis to YouTube

6:25

on a regular basis multiple times a day

6:28

and providing value that I I feel like

6:31

is as neutral as we possibly can be so

6:34

it's hard and I'm not trying to say like

6:36

woe is me like we all have hardships in

6:38

our lives but I think what we find is

6:41

the higher the level of uncertainty the

6:44

more we're likely to flip-flop and

6:46

change our minds right like when when

6:48

things are going great we're like

6:50

we got this on luck this is what we do

6:53

all day every day duh cause things are

6:56

going great but when things are fluid

6:59

and it and it flocks then of course

7:01

that's where change is required I think

7:04

as Kevin O'Leary told everyone in the

7:07

Kevin O'Leary interview it is a

7:09

requirement of someone in business to be

7:12

able to change your mind it's not an

7:13

option to be a flip-flopper it's a

7:15

requirement you have to be able to

7:17

change so this this me Kevin Paradox

7:19

that I realized just over the last few

7:21

days of sort of thinking and planning

7:23

for the AI course and starting to film

7:24

for the AI course which again is free

7:26

for the existing course members and you

7:28

can lock that in as well before June 1st

7:30

that's when we're going to release the

7:31

content we'll have another price

7:32

increase but all that side

7:34

I I think the best thing to do is go

7:37

back to the regular me Kevin report so

7:40

I'm going to try something and again I

7:42

might change my mind again but again

7:44

we're going to try it I'm gonna stop

7:46

worrying about

7:48

individual video views I'm going to

7:51

focus heavily on what can I do to make

7:53

sure I'm providing the best value

7:55

possible at the same time if I can maybe

7:58

minimize some of the drama in in the

8:00

titles I'm going to do that as well see

8:03

when you make one video the title's got

8:05

to be really dramatic because you want

8:07

all of the world to watch it because you

8:08

think you're providing the best value

8:09

but maybe if I post more videos maybe

8:12

they don't all need really exciting

8:14

titles so maybe we can scale that back a

8:15

little bit because I I want to be very

8:18

transparent with my audience it's not

8:20

easy figuring out exactly how to provide

8:22

the best value because I'll tell you if

8:23

I do a YouTube video title that's like a

8:25

fundamental analysis on palantir

8:28

nobody's going to click on it whereas

8:30

it's like penalty or two thirty dollars

8:32

oh

8:34

why right palantir two zero dollars why

8:38

and I hate you

8:40

right right so uh there is a balance

8:43

I'm going to try to balance all of these

8:45

things together in addition to balancing

8:47

all of this what I'd like to do is start

8:50

with the meet Kevin report again so

8:52

we'll bring it back to me Kevin report

8:53

for as long as I can I want to start

8:55

again 4 20 in the morning is when I'll

8:58

start and I'll stop around 6 15 so we'll

9:01

get about an hour 15 or sorry hour 50

9:03

hour to about two hours in and then

9:06

after the meet Kevin report we'll go to

9:08

the course member live stream so course

9:09

member live streams had a very

9:10

consistent start time but whether or not

9:12

we do this meet Kevin report has not

9:13

been very consistent so I'd like to do

9:15

that I'm going to bring it back this is

9:17

why we'll go back to some more videos

9:19

and I think this will be a fair

9:20

explanation for why because of the meet

9:22

Kevin Paradox I I don't know let me know

9:25

what you think and if you've got advice

9:26

on this I'd love to hear it I'm always

9:28

happy to share advice with you like

9:29

stream yard you should check out stream

9:31

yard by going to metcaven.com streamer

9:33

and it's a fantastic way to record

9:35

videos and also throw up overlays over

9:38

the screen whether you want to put

9:39

banners along the bottom or you want to

9:41

put yourself into a little box like this

9:43

it's kind of cool stream yard lets you

9:45

do all of this scrolling banners

9:46

highlight comments you name it it's a

9:48

phenomenal platform you should be using

9:50

it if you're not already to record

9:51

meetings record offline content live

9:54

stream multi-stream you name it it's

9:56

fantastic met kevin.com streamyard it is

9:58

a paid promotion check it out but uh

10:00

thanks so much for watching this video

10:02

and folks

10:03

we'll see in the next one good luck now

10:05

I want you to know this when it comes to

10:06

AI time is what's going to make you

10:09

money and if you can prove that value to

10:12

an employer you'll always be able to be

10:15

employed so this is another way of

10:17

making sure that you don't get replaced

10:22
