0:07

hello and welcome to episode 7 of our

0:09

partner portal series my name is

0:11

Christopher and today we will be going

0:13

over the software setup for your life

0:14

print event before we begin there are

0:17

some equipment you're going to need most

0:19

importantly you'll need some printers

0:20

for this video we will be using our own

0:23

Pro x1 printer but our software is also

0:25

compatible with other printers such as

0:27

the primary Alex 500 °c and the Epson C

0:31

3500 our software doesn't require

0:33

internet but you will need a router to

0:36

allow communication between the laptop

0:37

and your camera if you plan on using our

0:40

mosaic capped rat in the event you're

0:42

collecting hashtags are sending takeaway

0:43

emails you will need internet access and

0:46

we'll go over how to do that later in

0:48

this video if you don't plan to use our

0:50

iOS Photo Booth app

0:53

you can use your own photobooth system

0:56

and have the photos copied to the hot

0:58

folder in the case of our software it's

1:01

called the watch folder here we have our

1:03

mission control screen I know it may

1:05

look like a lot but you're mainly going

1:07

to be using these top three applications

1:09

and we're going to go over what all this

1:11

stuff is first I want to point out the

1:14

setup guide and the troubleshooting

1:15

guide feel free to follow along using

1:17

the setup guide and don't be afraid to

1:20

reference the troubleshooting guide if

1:22

you run into an error or an issue that

1:26

we don't cover in this video the first

1:28

thing you're going to do is extract your

1:30

project zip file that we downloaded off

1:32

the partner portal you can find a link

1:34

to the partner portal in the description

1:35

below so you're gonna open up a file

1:38

explorer and navigate to your downloads

1:41

and there it is now your zip file will

1:45

probably have a different name the name

1:46

of the zip file is always your project

1:48

name dot zip so for our example we did

1:51

tutorial as our project name so that's

1:52

why it's named tutorial that's it I'm

1:54

gonna click this and you're gonna drag

1:57

it over here to the project extractor so

2:00

that has now extracted your zip file and

2:03

automatically put its contents of the

2:06

folder into the appropriate locations so

2:08

we can go ahead and close out of this

2:10

to find all the files that were just

2:13

unzipped by the project extractor you're

2:15

going to navigate to your M Drive and

2:18

then to your project folder and you'll

2:20

see all of your files here you'll also

2:22

notice that your watch folder is right

2:25

here and that's the hot folder that all

2:26

of your photos are going to go into

2:28

you're going to connect your printer to

2:31

your laptop afterwards you're going to

2:33

open up the LX 500 status monitor

2:35

program this program will work for both

2:38

the pro x1 and Alex 500c printers this

2:43

is where you'll align your printer and

2:44

manage your ink levels you won't have to

2:47

change your ink unless prompted by this

2:49

application and you can see here that we

2:51

need an alignment so we'll hit a line

2:53

and then next so if you're using an

2:57

Epson C 3500 printer the steps to align

3:00

the prints may vary so you might want to

3:02

follow the instructions associated with

3:04

that printer model if you're using our

3:06

pro x1 printers then your default

3:08

printer settings will be shown here you

3:10

can also find those in the setup guide

3:12

with our printer setup let's go ahead

3:15

and get all of our equipment on the same

3:16

network we're gonna go ahead and do this

3:18

by adding a router to the system if

3:20

you're using your own photo booth or

3:22

camera software you can disregard having

3:24

to set up a router if you're using our

3:26

mosaic app strap then you will need a

3:28

router to connect the iPad camera to the

3:30

laptop so here I went ahead and

3:33

connected us to my router my routers

3:35

name is live print 1 t - 5 g so my

3:38

laptop is hooked up to get all of our

3:41

devices on the same network we're gonna

3:43

have to run the web server this allows

3:46

your devices to communicate with the

3:47

laptop so we're gonna go ahead and click

3:49

on after running the server you probably

3:57

noticed that a window briefly appeared

3:59

and then disappeared so to make sure

4:01

that the web server is actually running

4:03

you can just check the bottom right-hand

4:05

screen and you'll see that we have this

4:07

green W down here that indicates that

4:09

the web server is on and all the devices

4:12

connected to the router are talking to

4:15

each other with our network online and

4:17

our project file extracted let's go

4:19

ahead and open up the live print mosaics

4:20

app

4:22

which is right here here is the program

4:27

that we're gonna load our mosaic file

4:30

into so you're gonna navigate to file

4:32

load project tutorial and you're gonna

4:40

load in the mosaic configuration file

4:42

right down here if you have an overlay

4:45

associated with your project you'll have

4:47

two of these files one of which will be

4:49

specific to your overlay please

4:51

reference our advanced software setup

4:53

video for a more in-depth explanation of

4:56

how to configure your system when

4:58

dealing with to config dot and CF files

5:01

we're gonna load in this one because we

5:06

don't have an overlay on this project

5:07

anymore now that we've loaded in our

5:10

project you'll notice all these

5:12

pre-configured settings here in the SEL

5:15

options these are determined based on

5:18

how we configured our mosaic back in the

5:21

live print portal all of those details

5:24

will match the details you find here in

5:26

the SEL options so we're gonna go ahead

5:29

and click start mosaic and what you're

5:32

seeing here is the mosaic preview it's a

5:35

white screen right now because we

5:37

haven't taken any pictures and we don't

5:39

have any seed photos to start the mosaic

5:42

off with that will have to come after we

5:44

setup the camera

5:45

well let's focus on the mosaic preview

5:47

first so there are a couple different

5:48

things going on in this screen the first

5:51

thing I want to point out or your

5:52

primary settings located in the top

5:54

left-hand corner of the program these

5:58

settings like the color enhance and the

6:00

source overlay can be changed during

6:02

your event to adjust the color and the

6:04

overlay of your source image for the

6:07

pictures as your event goes on the top

6:09

right corner however tile size brand

6:11

size these are additional settings that

6:13

were pre-configured so you do not alter

6:16

these in the bottom right-hand corner

6:18

you'll see a lookup cell area typing the

6:21

column and row of a picture here we'll

6:23

find and highlight that photo in the

6:24

mosaic preview application these bottom

6:28

bars will show you information on how

6:30

many cells you have left in your mosaic

6:32

versus how many cells you've already

6:33

filled so now we have the mosaic

6:36

you going let's go ahead and open up the

6:38

printer manager using this icon here to

6:43

load an our project we're going to click

6:46

this file and then tutorial loading in

6:50

our project on both applications has now

6:52

synced the programs together the file

6:55

explorer here in the top right-hand

6:57

corner of the application is what you'll

6:59

click on and navigate to the project

7:00

that you want to upload if you have

7:03

multiple projects you would just

7:04

navigate to the one matching whatever is

7:07

in your mosaic preview application so

7:09

the first thing we're gonna do in the

7:10

print manager is we're going to add the

7:12

printer that we set up earlier so you

7:14

can click Add printer and then the only

7:16

printer we have hooked up is the one

7:17

printer so that's our only option so now

7:20

that we've connected the printer we will

7:22

enable it here using this drop down menu

7:27

we can check the settings of our printer

7:29

the status toggle here can temporarily

7:33

turn off or on a printer without

7:35

affecting any other printers on our list

7:38

if this dot is red it indicates there's

7:40

an issue with the printer for our

7:41

settings we'll be printing two inch

7:43

tiles and brands tiles and brands refer

7:46

to our cell size and our takeaway

7:48

options these can be printed from the

7:51

same printer or different printers if

7:53

you'd like and that is indicated by the

7:55

blue check box here we will be printing

7:59

two inch tiles but not two inch brands

8:02

so once you enable a printer the

8:05

settings in the print manager will be

8:06

saved this will allow you to close down

8:08

and reopen the print manager and

8:09

whenever you choose and it will bring

8:11

you back exactly where you left off so

8:13

if you need to adjust the printer

8:14

settings after viewing your test print

8:16

tile you'll do that by going back to the

8:20

status monitor app go to settings and

8:22

you'll just those numbers here on the

8:26

screen you'll see what a correct tile

8:28

print should look like and you can find

8:30

a reference for this in your setup guide

8:32

as well let's go through what the print

8:35

manager is so let's close this drop down

8:38

menu you're on site photos are gonna be

8:41

generated from images taken during your

8:43

event this window will fill in in the

8:46

order that the photos are taken right

8:48

now it's empty we haven't taken

8:49

photos yet the refresh button here will

8:53

refresh the on site photo windows or the

8:56

seed photo windows when new photos are

8:58

taken on site seed photos are images

9:02

taken in addition to your on site photos

9:04

that you would want your mosaic

9:05

these will be images that are not taken

9:07

during your event but images that you

9:09

would like to include in your final

9:10

mosaic I have a small seed folder here

9:12

that we'll be using as an example photos

9:20

taken will be placed here in the waiting

9:22

tab photos taken on site in real time

9:26

we'll move into the queue automatically

9:27

while seed photos have to be added in

9:30

manually after the waiting queue photos

9:33

going to the printing queue on site

9:36

photos will always take priority over

9:37

seed photos let's go ahead and click on

9:41

these four and you can see that those

9:43

have all been added to the waiting queue

9:44

as these go to print these will then

9:47

transfer over into the printing queue

9:49

now that we have our print manager set

9:51

up in our live print mosaics app running

9:54

we're gonna connect our camera to the

9:55

system we're using an iPad and while

9:58

using that all you have to do is connect

10:00

that iPad to the router to hook it up to

10:03

the system if you don't have our mosaic

10:05

capture app you can get that for free in

10:07

the iTunes App Store you will need that

10:09

if you're doing any any type of data

10:11

capture or if you don't have your own

10:13

photo taking system so connecting your

10:15

camera to the router will allow the

10:17

camera to communicate with the laptop so

10:19

the photos you take are received in the

10:21

print manager application it's also

10:22

important to note that if you're using

10:23

more than one laptop to make your M

10:26

Drive a shareable drive this way all the

10:28

laptops in your system will be able to

10:30

access the M Drive no matter if you're

10:31

using one two three or ten when

10:34

connecting to the router you won't need

10:35

to enter the camera code you just need

10:37

to hit the enter button because you're

10:38

working locally once the camera is

10:40

connected you will select your project

10:42

name from the list on the left hand side

10:44

of the page after doing that you will

10:46

see a take photo screen from this point

10:47

it's just rinse and repeat for taking

10:49

pictures of guests having the pictures

10:52

printed and having the guests put those

10:54

pictures up if you're using your own

10:55

camera system or photo booth then you

10:57

need to make sure that those photos you

10:59

take end up in the hot folder in order

11:01

for the system to process this the hot

11:02

folder

11:03

our software is called the watch folder

11:05

which we discussed in the intro if you'd

11:09

like to walk around and take photos

11:10

outside of your router's range you can

11:13

you just need to switch to offline mode

11:15

first by taking your camera off the

11:16

Wi-Fi connection offline mode will allow

11:19

you to take as many pictures as you like

11:20

outside of the routers range however

11:22

these photos are not automatically added

11:25

to the mosaic you'll have to re-enter

11:27

the routers range and reconnect your

11:29

camera to the router once your cameras

11:32

connect to the router you can upload all

11:34

the pictures you took at once or you can

11:36

go in and individually upload them as

11:38

you like in the event you're seeing a

11:39

white take photo screen or you were

11:42

unable to locate your project on the

11:44

scanning list those are just common

11:47

troubleshooting problems my advice would

11:49

be to first double check to make sure

11:50

your WAMP server is running and that

11:52

both your camera and your laptop are

11:54

connected to your router with the camera

11:56

connected you can go ahead and take some

11:57

test pictures you'll see that I've

11:59

already taken some test pictures here

12:01

and they've been counted as our on-site

12:03

photos you'll also notice in the mosaic

12:05

preview that this window is starting to

12:07

fill in with pictures this indicates

12:09

that the setup is working properly and

12:11

all your devices are communicating

12:12

together through the webserver by

12:15

printing a picture here you know that

12:16

your setup has been completed you'll

12:18

also see this new context window come up

12:20

giving you the option to reprint your

12:22

cell reprint the brand which is your

12:24

takeaway option or remove the photo

12:26

completely it'll also tell you a column

12:29

and row number you can find that image

12:30

at you'll also need to go into the

12:32

mosaic preview and remove cells that are

12:35

test pictures so they don't end up on

12:36

your mosaic

12:37

you'll just right click and remove photo

12:40

by doing this this will free up the slot

12:43

for the column and row number that these

12:45

test pictures have taken up if you go

12:47

back into your print manager you'll

12:50

notice that the photos that you deleted

12:52

in your mosaic preview are not deleted

12:55

here and that's because this will log

12:58

all of the photos that you've taken a

13:00

couple things to point out on this page

13:02

in the bottom right hand corner of each

13:04

photo you'll see a number that number

13:06

indicates how many times this photo has

13:08

been printed so if I always click on

13:11

this one it'll throw it into the waiting

13:13

queue and then when it's ready to print

13:15

it'll drop down to

13:17

printing cue using this you can

13:19

duplicate photos that are already in

13:22

your mosaic all duplicated photos will

13:25

get a new column and row number so they

13:27

don't land on the same spot in the

13:29

mosaic pictures duplicated through the

13:32

print manager will be assigned a new

13:34

column and row and will count as a new

13:36

picture entirely pictures reprinted

13:39

through the mosaic preview will just be

13:41

copies of ones you already have they

13:43

will not receive a new column or new Row

13:45

assignment the last part of the software

13:47

will be applicable to you if you're

13:49

collecting hash tags or sending takeaway

13:51

emails this part will also require an

13:53

internet connection so we're gonna go

13:55

through that to get that internet

13:57

connection we'll be using a Wi-Fi

13:58

adapter so that we've hooked up our

14:01

Wi-Fi adapter if you go to your Wi-Fi

14:04

menu you'll notice that you have a drop

14:06

down menu Wi-Fi and then Wi-Fi to your

14:11

Wi-Fi option is the one that's built

14:14

into your laptop and is gonna be the one

14:16

that's connected to your router Wi-Fi 2

14:18

is your Wi-Fi adapter and this is the

14:21

one that you're gonna use to connect to

14:22

the internet so we're gonna connect to

14:24

the internet here and now our computer

14:26

is both connected to the router and the

14:28

offline system as well as the Internet

14:31

if you have any questions regarding the

14:33

Wi-Fi adapter you can always go back to

14:36

page 11 of the setup guide for more

14:38

detailed instructions I want to take you

14:41

back to the desktop background real

14:42

quick so we're gonna exit out of all

14:43

this just a reminder all that stuff

14:48

auto-saves so now that we closed out

14:50

it'll save our progress where we just

14:53

were so if we open up the print manager

14:56

click this eyeball on set photos you'll

15:00

see all the photos that we have I'm

15:04

gonna close out of this I'm going to

15:06

minimize this in the bottom right-hand

15:08

corner you have your hashtag downloader

15:10

and your email now that we have internet

15:12

access if we had these options for our

15:16

project they would be available to us

15:20

clicking on these just opens up a script

15:23

the script will run in the background as

15:25

your event goes on so it's not something

15:27

you need to consistently monitor or look

15:29

after

15:30

the takeaway script will copy your

15:32

photos into the DNP printers ha folder

15:35

this script will run in the background

15:36

during your event now that we've gone

15:39

through all the applications on our live

15:42

print software that'll conclude our

15:43

demonstration if you come across any

15:45

troubleshooting items that were not

15:46

directly addressed please don't hesitate

15:48

to reference the troubleshooting guide

15:50

for further information thanks for

15:52
