Biden Student Debt Forgiveness BLOCKED | Full Details!
FULL TRANSCRIPT
student debt cancellations could have
started as soon as next week however now
as stay has been granted and that's
probably gonna get delayed boy oh boy
things with the government are always a
frustrating and if you haven't yet had
the chance to update your life insurance
which you could get in as little as five
minutes you may as well now go to
metcaven.com life Apple pay or Android
pay for it so what's going on look a US
court of appeals for the eighth circuit
granted a stay in response to an appeal
filed by Six States all Republican after
their case was thrown out by a district
court for a lack of standing on Thursday
saying that student debt relief needs to
be passed by Congress and not by a sole
Act of Joe Biden okay this is basically
a Republican versus Democrat move
Republicans going dude you should have
gone to Congress Biden going nah bro I
got this okay this decision again comes
after like literally here Friday
afternoon a day after the district court
tossed out the lawsuit from those Six
States
now millions of borrowers are going to
get delayed in their forgiveness there
was also some precedent in this okay an
entire other case went before The
Supreme Court and the Supreme Court
denied blocking Joe Biden's program so
it's like you have the Supreme Court is
like no no we're not going to block this
debt forgiveness you've got six states
that that just had their lawsuit thrown
out and so what is this this stay like
what happens now all right so here's
what this is a stay is basically just a
pause it's a delay in the process and
the stay gives the Biden Administration
until 6 pm on Monday to respond in
opposition which obviously they will
this is mostly a political stunt a stay
is really a hold until the court can
fully rule on the injunction request
which is just basically kind of like
here's the way it works it's okay like
dang it we we tried to block the debt
cancellation and they denied us let's
appeal it and then the appeal score is
like
dude it's Friday we want to go home we
haven't researched or ascertained all of
the facts of the cases yet we got to
understand the law and ultimately we
gotta write an opinion on this because
people are going to look at our
reputations as judges in the future and
they'll you know determine whether or
not to appoint or elect us in the future
to positions based on how we write
opinions and we sure as hell ain't gonna
do it on a Friday afternoon so let's
just put all this on hold you'll buy an
admin sorry y'all got until 6 P.M Monday
to have some kind of response for us but
honestly we're probably just going to
rule in favor of the Biden admin anyway
but dude it's Friday let's just pause
this crap the problem is now in the
meantime you get a bunch of clickbaity
headlines that are creating all fear for
the 22 million people who've already
applied which is like half of the like
nearly 44 million people who were
eligible for student debt forgiveness
and now those people have stress over
the entire weekend about are they
actually going to get their money
because the headlines are like oh no you
know student debt forgiveness on hold
everything he's gonna get delayed there
may be delays
things may get delayed probably not more
than a week or two I I can't say with
certain Tammy court systems or sometimes
slow but I I really don't expect this
delay to last and so I would encourage
that if you're eligible make sure you go
to studentaid.gov that's the government
system that opened up last week to get
your student debt forgiveness uh
remember that Biden's plan cancels up to
ten thousand dollars in federal student
alone adapt for those making up to 125
000 a year or two hundred fifty thousand
dollars per household and up to twenty
thousand dollars of Pell Grants for
low-income families personally I expect
this to all be A-Okay when the merits
are reviewed and this appeals court is
able to respond there'll be some kicking
in political screaming because this is
right before an election we're less than
a month away we're less than a few weeks
away from an election here so they're
going to be frustrations there's going
to be kicking and screaming but in my
opinion this whole like delay thing is
just going to create unnecessary stress
for millions of Americans over the
weekend and all it is is
quite frankly politics so even though
you should still go to metcaven.com life
if you're expecting this student debt
forgiveness I would say honestly this
day it has like a one percent chance of
not getting lifted and this case is
probably just gonna get thrown away with
like a 99 degree of certainty I could be
wrong okay I've been wrong with fourth
but this is not something that really
stresses me out this is very very normal
this is the way the court system works
again it's a Friday you think the judges
are taking off their beer time or Pizza
Time with kids to go deal with something
the Supreme Court's already rolled on
this is ridiculous don't worry about it
hopefully if I'm a source of calm for
you you can subscribe to the channel
and check out the content that I've
linked down below thanks so much and
goodbye and good weekend or have a good
weekend bye
