Dr Petra De La Rey: Biblical Studies
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Thank you, Roario. Thank you for that
blessing and welcome, Holy Spirit. I'm
so excited about today. It's going to be
a long teaching, but um let's hope we
get through it. And if we don't, we're
going to continue next week because the
theme of today is what is our standing
as Christians
in relation to the law?
Are we under the law? Are we above the
law? Or what is our standing? So, we're
going to read from scripture, and it was
scripture that came up uh
uh the verse of the day, and that was
Matthew 13, where the Lord spoke in
parables about the kingdom
and um and what it's like. He likened it
to a few things. And uh one of the
things that he likened to um was
uh the sewer sewing seed.
So, we're going to proceed in scripture
and um and a few times in scripture
here, the Lord says, "For those who have
spiritual ears,
she listen, it's a it's a word that
maybe you are familiar with in Hebrew,
the shema that um where the Lord says
she is, the Lord your God is one." And a
few times here the Lord refers to that.
So we got to read from
uh let's read from let's not read the
first few things where the Lord says why
he speaks in parables and we're going to
read from verse 16.
He says, "Blessed are the ones." Let me
just go to the amplified before you have
all this Hebrew. Um
where the Lord starts explaining the
parables.
I see in in verse 11, to you it has been
granted to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven, but to them it has
not been granted. For whoever has
spiritual wisdom because he's receptive
to God's word, to him more will be
given, and he will be richly and
abundantly supplied. But whoever does
not have this, even what he w has will
be taken away from him. This is the
reason I speak to the crowds in parables
because while seeing they do not see,
and while hearing they do not hear, nor
do they understand and grasp. In them,
the prophecy of Isaiah is being
fulfilled, which says, "You will hear
and keep on hearing, but never
understand. And you will look and keep
on looking, but never comprehend. For
this nation's heart has grown hard, and
with their ears they hardly hear, and
they have closed their eyes. Otherwise,
they would see with their eyes, and hear
with their ears, and understand with
their hearts, and turn, and I would heal
them. But blessed are your eyes, because
they see, and your ears because they
hear. I assure you and most solemnly say
to you, many prophets and righteous men
longed to see what you see and did not
see and to hear what you hear and did
not hear. And then he explains the swer.
Listen then to the parable of the swer.
When anyone hears the word of the
kingdom and I want to focus on that that
is the darut and it's going to change in
the next um few verses. The darut, the
word of the kingdom, and does not
understand and grasp it. The evil one,
which is Satan, comes and snatches away
what was sown in their hearts.
This is the one on whom the seed was
sown beside the road. The one on whom
seed was sown on rocky ground. This is
the one who hears the word, the davar
hashem, and at once welcomes it with
joy. Yet he has no root in himself, but
is only temporary. And when pressure or
persecution comes because of the word,
immediately he stumbles and falls away.
And the one on whom seed was sown among
thorns. This is the one who hears the
word again the word of Hashem.
Davarashem.
But the worries and distractions of the
world and deceitfulness of riches
choke the word and it yields no fruit.
And the one on whom seed was sown on the
good soil. This is the one who hears the
word, the davarashim,
understands and grasps it. He indeed
bears fruit and yields some 100 times,
some 60 and some 13.
Then Jesus came with another parable,
saying, "The kingdom of heaven is like a
man who sowed good seed in his field.
But while his men were sleeping, his
enemy came and sowed weeds among the
wheat and went away. So when the plant
sprouted and formed grain, the weeds
appeared also. The servants of the owner
came to him and said, "Sir, did you not
sow good seed in your field? Then how
does it have weeds in it?" And he
replied to them, "An enemy has done
this." And the servants asked him, "Then
do you want us to go and pull them out?"
But he said, "No, because as you pull
out the weeds, you may uproot the wheat
with them. Let them grow together until
the harvest. And at harvest time, I will
tell the reapers, first gather the weeds
and tie them in bundles to be burnt, but
gather the wheat into my barn."
And then the Lord gave another parable
saying, "The kingdom of heaven is like a
mustard seed which a man took and swed
in his field. And of all the seeds, it
is the smallest, but when it has grown,
it is the largest of the garden herbs
and becomes a tree so that the birds of
the air find shelter in its branches."
He told them another parable. The
kingdom of heaven is like leavenven
which a woman took and worked into three
measures of flour until all of it was
leven.
All of these things Jesus said to the
crowd in parables and he said nothing to
them without a parable.
This was to fulfill what was spoken by
the prophet. I will open my mouth in
parables. I will utter things that have
been hidden since the foundation
of the world.
Then he left the crowds and went into
the house. And his disciples came to
him, saying, "Explain to us the parable
of the weeds in the field." And he
answered, "The one who sws the good seed
is the Son of Man, the Lord, and the
field is the world. And as for the good
seed, these are the sons of the kingdom.
And the weeds are the sons of the evil
one. And the enemy who sowed them is the
devil. And the harvest is the end of
age. And the reapers are the angels.
So just as the weeds are gathered up and
burned in the fire, so will it be at the
end of the age. The Son of Man will send
out his angels and they will gather out
of his kingdom all things that offend.
And all who practice evil and will throw
them into the furnace of fire. In that
place there will be weeping and grinding
of teeth. Then the righteous will shine
forth like the sun in the kingdom of
their father. He who has ears, let him
hear and heed my words.
So this is a beautiful piece and so
familiar that sometimes
>> Yeah,
>> we cannot see you.
>> Yay. Okay. At least you could hear me.
>> There you go again.
Daniel, am I way?
>> Yes, we can hear you.
>> Fantastic.
Okay, let's go. It's such a familiar
piece that sometimes we read over this
um in such a hurry because it's so
familiar that we miss certain parts. So,
I want to go right back where we started
and it was verse 11 if I'm right. And um
and let's go slowly this time. Um, I'm
going to skip over some parts, not
because they're not important, but
because I want to get to a certain part.
So, let's go right back to verse 11
where the Lord starts explaining. And I
just want to highlight um is then
another scripture that sounds familiar
to this
to those who have ears. Listen,
does somebody know where in scripture
they say this words continuously quite a
few times after each
piece it is said
>> I think revelation
>> revelation where the Lord says to each
um kaya each of the commanders what is
it in English Now um he says to those
who have ears listen. Okay. So it's
quite important when we get to that
verses to remember it. I say to you have
been granted to know the mysteries of
the kingdom of heaven. So first of all
we thank the Lord for that that we can
live post
with the Holy Spirit to to open our ears
and open our hearts. And I really want
to pray to the Lord because it's a
difficult teaching.
It's been preached many times in in
churches that we are no longer under the
law. And um I really want to um go to
scripture and let's um clear our
standing as Christians in relation to
the law.
Um, so let's move to
where the Lord says in verse 12,
"Whoever has spiritual wisdom, to him
more will be given and he will be richly
and abundantly supplies, but whoever
does not have even that what he has will
be taken away." That also sounds like
another parable that the Lord spoke
about and that is the talents. The
parable of the talents where the Lord
multiplied the talents where the servant
was using them and the one that buried
that talent, it was even even that one
was taken away from him in the end.
So let's see what the Lord says about
the parable of the sewer.
So we jump right to scripture
where he says
verse 18. Listen then to the parable of
the swer.
When anyone hears the word of the
kingdom.
So it's a different word that goes out.
It's a different seed that's being sown
and does not understand and grasp it.
the evil one comes and snatch it away
immediately. It does not even sprout.
Nothing happens to that seed. That seed
is immediately destroyed in that
person's life. And so what is this word
of the kingdom that the Lord is talking
about?
This word of the kingdom is about the
second the first coming but also the
second coming of the Lord. And many many
people um doesn't want to hear
that the Lord is coming back because the
second coming
is
about judgment.
The Lord says he's not coming back to
make peace the second time. He's coming
to bring his judgment. He's coming as
the lion of Judah. The first time he
appeared as the lamb of God, the perfect
sacrificial lamb that was sacrificed on
the cross for redemption and salvation.
The second time is coming as the lion of
Judah to bring judgment.
Then the Lord talks about the seed that
was sown on rocky ground, the davar
hashe, and that is the whole complete
scripture. It's not only about the
coming of the Lord. It's the whole
scripture coming from from heaven.
He says sometimes it will sprout,
but pressure and persecution
will make it stumble and fall away.
And sometimes we meet people that
needs a lot of encouragement and a lot
of nursing to sustain their faith. their
faith is not sustainable by themselves.
And it's really really sad to see
because if there's no root, even the
smallest drop of water or the smallest
kulki of um
nitrogen
cannot feed them because there's no root
that can uptake
that encouragement so that they can
sustain themselves. And in the end
when persecution comes those people also
fall away. And we see it in scripture in
two sensor two where they talk about the
great apostasy
that comes from the church. It doesn't
come from unbelievers.
It comes from inside the church. So
there's people inside the church that
believes, that has faith, but the faith
will not sustain them because there's no
root. It's sewn on a rocky road, on a
rocky um surface.
And then the Lord talks about the seed
sown among the thorns which also hear
the words.
But the worries and distractions of the
world and the deceitfulness of riches
choke the world.
And that is mixed doctrine.
That is doctrine that's not sound,
that's not um pure um davar hashim.
There's all there's a mixed doctrine in
there. So, Mun appears here as well.
He's not named, but he's here. And that
was Matthew 6 that we started off. And
it chokes the word out of them so that
they cannot bear fruit.
And then the one that's sewn on the good
soil that bears fruit.
And that takes us right back to the
trees that we talked about last time.
Um, and the fruit that the two trees
bear. And we will see that that is where
I'm I'm trying to head now with this
teaching that we're going to get um at a
place where there will be fruit.
And then another parable. And I want to
jump to verse 41. And now we're going to
do Hebrew. And the verse says,
he explains the parable. The son of man
sews the good seed. Then Satan comes and
he sws the evil seed. Both of them
springs up.
And then the Lord says to his angels,
start gathering at the end of times.
So just as the wheat are gathered up and
burnt in the fire, so will it be at the
end of age. The Son of Man will send out
his angels, and they will gather out of
his kingdom all things that offend,
and all who practice evil
will be thrown into the furnace of fire.
Okay. Now I'm going to read to you what
is written in the OJ in and it sounds
completely different. Different the same
but different. So the son of man will
send forth his angels and they will pull
up and gather out of Messiah's mhood the
kingdom all the things that make
apostate
and the ones who are are without
the law
and are anti nomian.
Let me read it again. He will pull up
and gather out of Messiah's mood because
that kingdom is coming to earth. So he
will pull out
all the things out of Messiah's mood.
The kingdom that's coming
that's making
apostate
and the ones who are without the law and
anti-nomian.
Now, I just want to clear this was a
parable that was
brought by Jesus
before he was crucified.
So, I did my homework and I looked in
the Oxford dictionary the meaning of
anti-nomian
and it says the following. a person who
believes that Christians are released by
grace from the obligation of observing
the moral law.
I just want to say again this was Jesus
speaking. It was his words before he was
crucified.
So what is our standing as Christians in
relation to the law? Are we still under
the law or or are we under grace?
And I want to answer quickly, we are
under grace, but what is our standing?
Are we Christians that are released by
grace from the obligation of observing
the moral law? And then I went and
looked what is moral law. Moral law
refers to a system of universal
objective
ethical principles that define right and
wrong conduct. Often believed to be
inherent in human nature, conscience or
divine will.
Unlike enacted positive law, moral law
law guides human behavior independently
of government legislation
focusing on core values like justice and
respect. So we see that this word
antinomian refers to something that was
created inside of you.
But before he uses this word antinomia,
he uses the word
law and that was the Jewish law. And
that
the Jewish law is compiled of different
parts. And I'm just going to do the
first three because there's actually
five, but I just want to focus on the
first three. It's the Torah. The Torah,
the first five books written by Moses.
Hawk
is a decree that goes out of a kingdom,
a specific, often binding statue or
regulation of a kingdom.
And mitzvah,
commandments of which the most common
that we know is the ten commandments. So
if we look at the word Hebrew,
it compile is compiled up of the TA
the G and the mitzvah and two other that
I'm not going to look into now because
the one is haka that means you walk with
God and the other one is um the grease
that the rabies give. I just want to
focus on the first three.
So it's the Torah, the first five books,
hook, which is the Greece, which was
made in the kingdom, and mitzvah, the
commandments. Now, there's actually 613
commandments in the word of God.
But the ten commandments that we read
about in scripture forms the core or the
spine of these 613
commandments because they will take say
maybe do not steal and then they will
um amplify that further with a few other
commandments that's in line of not
stealing and um or
do not commit adultery and then they
will just have a few commandments under
that. So the core of the 613 commands
that is in the law of Moses.
The ten commandments forms the core of
that.
And those ten commandments, the first
time that Moses descended from Mount Si
was written on sapphire tablets
and they were engraved by the finger of
God.
and all the Hebrew letters was on those
two tablets
of which we're going to look at one
Hebrew letter. We're just going to look
at the letter today
um which is called the summit
that is
like a round circle but with a flat
piece. So it's completely
closed. You can see it's like a round
circle, which is quite important. Um,
because we're also going to look at it a
little bit later in scripture.
I want you to remember that this was a
closed circle. And when the finger of
God engraved on the sapphire tablets,
because the sapphire tablets is the
foundation of the throne of God in
heaven,
the letters went right through. So if
you engrave on a on a stone and the
letter is like this
and you
so let's say it's like this then there's
still a connection here and here. So and
here and here. So it will not fall
through. um because it's still connected
in a few pieces if it's engraved right
through the thickness of the tablet. But
what makes the s a miracle is if you cut
a round circle through a piece of
wood or something that's thick, that
thing is going to fall out.
Does it make sense? physics.
The summit was suspended in air. It did
not fall out. It was completely
suspended in the tablets
which was a miracle in itself. Okay? So
remember that when we talk further about
the summit.
Now the word that is being used
um when the Lord says
he will gather out of Messiah's mood all
things that make
I hope that creates the apostasy the
Hebrew word is
which means destroy annihilate
exterminate
so it's not a small things that it's not
a small thing that happens. The apostasy
is a complete destruction,
extermination, and annihilation of
something.
And now we're going to go to
uh scripture
2 Thessalonians
2
because he explains it so beautifully
there
what this apostasy is. Now you um I'm in
the amplified
and the the
it says man of lawlessness.
Now in regard to the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ and the gathering together
to meet him,
this is the parable of seer.
It's the second coming when the Lord
will send his angels to start gathering.
We ask you, brothers and sisters, not to
be quickly unsettled or alarmed
either by a spirit or a message or a
letter from us to the effect that the
day of the Lord has already come.
Nope, it has not come. Why not? Let no
one in any way deceive or ent trap you,
for that day will not come unless the
apostasy comes first.
Right,
everybody with me? And the man of
lawlessness is revealed.
The son of destruction. You see that
word action here now being used. Schmat,
the antichrist, the one who is destined
to be destroyed.
And he refers to Daniel
chapter 7 and 8 who opposes and exalts
himself so proudly and so insolently
above every so-called god or object of
worship so that he takes his seat in the
temple of God publicly proclaiming that
he himself is God.
Do you not remember that when I was
still with you, I was telling you these
things, and you know what restrains you
now? It is so that he will be real
revealed at his own appointed time. For
the mystery of lawlessness,
and it's also a spirit of rebellion, is
already at work.
But it is restrained
only until he who now restrains it is
taken out of the way.
Then the lawless one, the antichrist,
will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will
slay him with the breath of his mouth
and bring him to an end by the
appearance of his coming.
The coming of the antichrist.
One is through the activity of Satan
with great power and deceptive signs and
false wonders and by unlimited seduction
to evil and with all the deception of
wickedness for those who are perishing
because they did not welcome the love of
truth.
Focus on those words, the love of truth.
so as to be saved.
Because of this, God will send upon them
a misleading influence
so they will believe the lie in order
that all may be judged and condemned who
did not believe the truth. The Lord is
coming back to judge, but instead to
pleasure in unrighteousness.
that we should
and morally obligated
as debtors always to give thanks to God
for you believers beloved by the Lord
because God has chosen you from the
beginning for salvation through the
sanctifying work of the spirit and by
your faith in the truth by your faith in
the truth.
I'm saying it again. By your faith in
the truth, it was to this end that he
called you through our gospel
so that you may obtain and share in the
glory of our Lord Jesus.
Therefore, brothers and sisters, stand
firm and hold
firmly to the traditions which you were
taught, whether by word or mouth or by
letter.
And then he greets them
by his grace and comfort and encourage
and strengthen your hearts in every good
work and word.
So we see that the great apostasy is
coming and it's coming from believers.
It's coming from inside the church
because you cannot
fall away from something
if you were not there. So if you fall
away it means you were a believer
because you cannot fall away from
something that you did not believe in.
And um and I I've again going to say
because of the love and because of the
grace. And now I want somebody to read
for me John 14. And we're going to go
from verse 15. Sir David of David.
Please read John 14.
Good morning Dr. Petra. I shall say
Let not your heart be troubled. You
believe in God, believe also in me. In
my father's house are many mansions. If
it were not so, I would have told you. I
go to prepare a place for you. And if I
go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again and receive you to myself.
But where I am, there you may also be.
And where I go, you know, and the way
you know.
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not
know where you are going, and how can we
know the way?"
Jesus said to them, "I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through me.
If you had known me, you would have
known my Father also. and from now on
you know him and have seen him.
Philip said to him, "Lord, show us a
father and it is sufficient for us."
Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you
so long and yet you have not known me,
Philillip.
You have seen me have seen the father.
How can you say, "Show us the father."
Do you not believe that I am in the
father and the father in me? The words
that I speak to you, I do not speak on
my own authority.
But the Father who dwells in me does the
works. Believe me that I am in the
Father and the Father in me. or else
believe me for sake of the works
themselves.
Most assuredly I say to you, he who
believes in me, the works that I do, he
will do also and greater works. And
these he will do because I go to my
father. And whatever you ask in my name
that I will do. The father may be
glorified the son. If you ask anything
in my name, I will do it.
If you love me, keep my commandments,
and I will pay the Father, and he will
give you another helper, that he may
abide with you forever.
The Spirit of truth, whom the world
cannot receive, because it neither sees
him nor knows him, but you know him, for
he dwells with you and will be in you. I
will not leave you orphans. I will come
to you.
and a lot longer. And the world will see
me no more, but you will see me. Because
I live, you will live also. At that day,
you will know that I am in my father and
you in me and I in you. He who is my
commandments and keep them. It is he who
loves me. And he who loves me will be
loved by my father and I will love him
and manifest myself to him.
Judas, not his scariot, said to him,
"Lord, how is it that you will manifest
yourself to us, not to the world?"
Jesus answered and said to him, "If
anyone loves me, you will keep my word,
and my father will love him, and we will
come to him and make a home with him.
He who does not love me does not keep my
words and the word which you hear is not
mine but the fathers who sent me.
These things I have spoken to you while
being present with you.
But the helper the Holy Spirit whom the
Father will send in my name. He will
teach you all things and bring to your
remembrance all things that I said to
you. Peace I leave with you.
My peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled. Never
let it be afraid. You heard me say to
you, I am going away and coming back to
you.
If you loved me, you would rejoice
because I said, I am going to the
father. For my father is greater than I.
And now I have told you before it comes
that when it does come to pass you may
believe.
I will no longer be told much of you.
The ruler of this world is coming and he
has nothing in me but that the world may
know that I love the father and as the
father gave me commandment so I do
otherwise let us go from here.
>> Thank you so much. is the most beautiful
piece of scripture in the word. And we
see that multiple times. And the Lord
uses the Hebrew words in there. Those
who keep my mitzvah love me. Those are
the ones that love me. Those who keep
the Torah, those are the ones that love
me. So he uses the words for the Hebrew
pieces of the law.
He says, "If you really love me, you
will keep them.
You will be shmer is the Hebrew word for
that. You will not only be shimmer, you
will not only be hearers of the words,
but you will be doers of the word.
Does that mean we need to wash our hands
like the Hebrews 60 times, turn three
times
around, and then start eating? No. No.
Paul and Peter actually sat for five
days and they could not agree on this.
That's why I say if we do not finish
this teaching today, we will carry on
next week. Because if it took those two
men five days to get at a point where
they could agree,
then we might as well spend a few days
on this. Are we still under the law? If
the Lord says clearly in his own words,
don't become
apostate. Don't fall into that trap of
the great apostasy that's coming.
Keep my commandments
because you love me. And if you love me,
you are in my love and in the father's
love. So we do not want to fall from
that from the love of God. I promise you
you don't do not want to fall from that.
So what is it that Paul understood about
this that took him five days to sat with
Peter and tell him this is what the Lord
says. We are no longer under the law.
We cannot go to the Gentiles and
proclaim to them the complete 613
commandments
of Moses
because there's something else. And then
we read the book of Romans,
most difficult book in scripture ever
written. And in there somewhere Paul
says to them, I talk to you in easy
terms because you are spiritually
immature. And I I'm like, oh my
goodness, if he had to talk with us in
2026 and he thought they were
spiritually immature
and I read scripture, Romans, and I'm
like, what are you trying to say here?
Um, it is a difficult book, but we're
going to try and see what Paul says
there. So he starts in Romans 2 and he
says 13 do not only shea
and the Lord comes first and he says
open your ears she now open your ears.
Then Paul comes and he says, "Yeah, she
is good. But now I also want you to be
shmer. I also want you to be doers, not
only listeners."
Romans 2 verse 13.
Barbara,
will you read that beautiful verse to
us? Only Romans 2 verse 13.
Okay. Uh the amplified version,
>> any version.
>> Okay.
>> All of them are beautiful.
>> So I'm going to go to verse 13.
For it is not those who merely hear the
law who are just or righteous before
God, but it's those who actually obey
the law who will be justified,
pronounced free of the guilt of sin and
declare it acceptable to him.
>> Isn't that beautiful? Let's read it
again, Barbara, so that it can really
fall into our hearts.
For is it not those who merely hear the
law as it is read aloud, who are just or
righteous before God, but it is those
who actually obey the law, who will be
justified, pronounced free of the guilt
of sin and declared acceptable to him.
Wow. So there again we hear Paul say you
are not here to nullify the law
and then he goes to
Maron. Can you please read for us Romans
3 the very very last verse
31.
Yeah.
Speaker key.
>> Switch on your speaker.
>> Okay.
>> Thank you.
>> 3 verse 31.
>> Yes.
>> Just get it here.
Do we then make void the law through
faith? Certainly not. On the contrary,
we establish the law.
>> And now I want to tell you what that
word establish means. In another
um I think in the amplified he says we
uphold the law.
Um and the Hebrew word
for uphold
is sonic.
So not only is it a letter
s
it is also a word and it means to
uphold to support
and that's something
and that's why John 14 is so important
because if you really really love
someone and we are looking forward to
the coming of Christ.
We are looking forward to the
We as the bride and the Holy Spirit
calls out to our bridegroom,
come Lord Jesus, come
because the sonic
is the wedding band.
So as the bride,
we uphold scripture. We uphold the
commands of our bridegroom
because we are in love. We love him with
our whole heart, body, mind, and soul.
And we are crying out for our bride, our
bridegroom to come. The stoic is the
wedding band.
Um, the Hebrews believe that at Mount Si
when Moses received the Ten
Commandments, it was a marriage that
took place between Yave and the
Israelites.
You can go and read up on that. It was a
marriage and that's why the summit was
suspended in those first two tablets
that Moses destroyed after he saw the
golden calf.
So
the word for to uphold the law
is summit.
We are married. So if you know your
husband
um like you can ask me anything and I
will answer you and then you can go and
lock me up in a room and then you can
ask my husband the same question and we
will sound the same. We will give you
the same answer.
that we are married for 30 years now and
um that's how much we love each other
and how well we know each other. So when
Abraham and if you look at the first
seven chapters of Romans
before there was a rule before Moses
Abraham walked the earth
and on the basis of his faith that's why
I highlighted that in scripture because
of his faith
God appointed righteousness to him. He
was in right standing. It was before the
cross. It was before the cross. We are
very very fortunate to live post cross.
I cannot
make that more clear. We are very very
fortunate to live post cross. This was
before the cross. Because of his faith,
God appointed to him righteousness. he
could be in right standing with the Lord
so that the Lord could walk with him
again and what the Lord did at Mount Si
and Moses because Moses wrote the Torah.
Even if there were things in there about
Adam and Eve and Cion and Arble and
Abraham,
it's Moses wrote the first five books.
And it was because of the oral Torah
that was like um you know folk tales
that he could wrote about Adam and Eve
and the Garden of Eden and what but
Moses wrote the first five books, the
Torah.
He also wrote all the mitzvah.
And that's why the Israelites
put such a high stature to Moses. You um
and why they sometimes distort the image
of Moses and puts him above the Lord
Jesus Christ because he was the most he
he was the one that led them out of
Egypt.
who was the most powerful prophet that
walked the earth except for the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Most of them are still Orthodox Jews.
They do not believe that Jesus was the
Messiah. They are still waiting for
their Messiah. But there's also a group
that's called the Messianic Jews.
Messianic means Messiah that converted
to Christian belief, sorry, which
believes that Jesus was the Messiah. And
that is the Messianic Jews. But there's
still a lot of secular Jews and there's
still a lot of Orthodox Jews that do not
believe. They are not Christians. But
there is a group of Messianic Jews in in
Israel,
the remnant of the Israelites.
So
what Paul tried to explain in chapter 1
to 7 is
because of the cross
we are no longer in fear of judgment
because where there is a law if you
transgress that law, there is
punishment. And we've seen a few times
now in scripture that the Lord is coming
back to judge.
So what grace came and perfected for us
when we believed in the cross and the
Lord redeemed us and he gave us his
salvation.
There was also grace that was poured
out. Not only did he restore our
righteousness because of our faith and
believing in him like Abraham believed,
grace was poured out.
And because of that grace,
we no longer stand in fear of the law.
We can uphold it because it's written in
our hearts. The Holy Spirit that wrote
it on the tablets wrote it on the
tablets of our hearts. So we w we are
not above it. We do not nullify it. We
do not come apostate from it. We uphold
it because it's inherent in us.
all the good things that the Lord
intended for the Lord to be. Not all the
small human rituals that was um the far
and the sicers added in there. Not all
the small rituals, all the
beautiful
foundations of our kingdom that's
coming, the laws of our kingdom that's
coming
was written in there. And that is
written in our hearts now because of
grace.
So we have that inherent moral law that
comes from the Holy Spirit that makes us
want to listen to the commands of the
Lord because the commands is still
coming. There's still coming commands
from heaven.
Even if it's only for you in your
personal life to adhere to the commands
is ongoing.
The Lord, he did not stop being the
rabbi. He did not stop breaking open the
word as he did with the parables. He did
not stop being your chief commander in
the spirit world. He is your rabbi. And
that is what the word rabbi means. is
your teacher. He's giving you commands,
but he's also your chief commander in
the army of heaven.
He's the chief commander of the angels
and he's the chief commander of his
ministers on earth who is the
Christians. He still gives commands.
He is the chief commander.
Um, so if you look in every single book
in the New Testament, it's a little bit
difficult in the gospel books because
it's all over when they talk about
Messiah. But if you go to scripture and
I can quickly run you through it and you
look at all the books that Paul wrote
and let's sum jump to Romans while we're
there and you go to the first book
he will call upon Jesus in his full
names
from shaw a servant of rebiah
that's his full names that's his titles
and they always start off by Rabbi
because he is the chief commander. Um
let's jump to another book. Let's go to
Galatians
one again. and he greetss the the the um
the people of that place and then he
always comes with
Hashem
grace
and covenant love
because he's talking to people that's in
covenant with God because of the blood
of Yeshua
to you. Shalom Hashem from Elohim Ain
God your father and
Adonai.
There's his full names.
Let's jump to the next one. Ephesians
again. He comes, he greets the people of
Ephesians and then he says
to you and shalom from Elohim and
Messiah.
Let's jump to another one. I'm just
going to read one more and I promise you
it's in every book. He greets them again
and then he says
in verse two and shalom from Elohim and
Adonai
Messiah
that's his full names. So we're just
looking at the first one of those names
now. So when he tells you in John 14 if
you call upon my name
which David read David read so beautiful
um when you call upon the go and read
John 14 again if you ask anything in my
name if you call upon my name for those
who love me and keep my commandments but
so you know him as your rabbi can ask me
anything
in the will of the father and I will
grant it. I will grant it. So many times
I see Christians that pray and do not
receive.
And my question is why?
Why? So I want to end off and then we're
going to talk a little bit. Um
it was the popup verse
in this week or Sunday. I think it was
Sunday.
And it's Ecclesiastics
12 verse3.
So the end of the matter. Uh, Monique,
please read it for us, please.
>> Ezekiel,
Bible, the scriptures.
especi
12 verse 13.
Okay.
Let us hear I got it. Let us hear the
conclusion of the entire matter. Fear
Elohim and guard his commands for this
applies to all mankind.
All mankind.
So I'm just going to read it slowly
again. The end of the matter.
Fear God and keep his commandments.
Now I want to
just um
read one John 4 verse 18. There's no
fear in love but perfect love
cast out fear.
Now the word Hebrew word for fear here
in 1 John 4:18 is
it's the fear of judgment
specifically the dread of punishment
or judgment
the fear that is written here in
Ecclesiastics 12:13 is yach
that's that all inspiring ing
honor
all that we have for the most high. And
so it's completely different words in
Hebrew. Don't be confused because it's
the same word in English. Don't be
confused. Bahad is from Satan. Yachae
mind flows directly out of the throne of
the most high. It's that all inspiring
um it's what the Holy Spirit puts in us
because we are um face to face with the
most high
and because we have no more fear for
punishment because the Lord came and
restored that on the cross. We have no
fear of the punishment that is because
of the transgression of the law. We can
serve
as faithful servants upholding the law
now because we have no fear because the
love in us is perfect. We keep the
commandments because we love him
not because we fear punishment and
therefore we are no longer under the
law.
So, I hope it makes sense.
Let's talk. Yeah, very important. Sorry.
Um,
you remember last time I talked about
there's certain in in the Torah, um,
there's certain
verses where a Hebrew letter will be
enlarged. Like in the shea the ain that
I talked about last time is enlarged and
the dal
this specific verse it's the only time
in scripture where the stomach is
enlarged.
So if you read that verse you the
stomach is
enlarged and you know it has to do with
the letter summit. So if you read that
verse in Hebrew and you see that in our
summit, you know it stands for love.
It stands for you are no longer in fear
of punishment. It stands for you uphold
the law because of your faith. you are
righteous now and not because of you're
trying to keep all the all the little
small um things in the law that was
written all 613 of them and you know
that we are working with the second
coming.
So only that small letter being enlarged
speaks volumes.
Speaks volumes.
Is there any questions? Please let's
talk a little bit.
>> Sorry, can I ask something?
>> I believe
>> what is that verse? Is it um Romans 3:31
where that letter is
>> near
Ecclesiastics 12. It's the very last
verse in
>> I say therefore the end of the matter is
fear God and keep his commandments. And
remember that fear is not dread. It's
not because we are afraid.
It's because we have all for the for the
creator.
Det.
>> Yes. In
>> relation to um the human heart. Just
just because I think the Lord reminded
me just in in that that this the Greek
symbol he used for it. Um
it kind of like um fits fits into that
symbol
if you
>> Yeah. I guess um but um it's a good case
I all respect I insist to speak in
English please.
>> Okay. All right.
>> Okay. So um
so um the the part where said something
about um when when you cut something in
the in the middle of the circle it will
not it will
fall out.
So the same way as as the um the two
tablets were created.
>> Okay.
>> Yes. Yes.
So the same way.
>> So so in the same way
I believe that God will says he will
write it on the tablets of our hearts.
>> Ah
>> in the same way that even that that that
what he written on our hearts shall not
through the power of the holy spirit
shall not
um fall
>> fall down.
I hope I understand you correct.
>> Yes. Is it about the heart? The thus of
Is is that what you're asking? Yes.
>> And and that what is written in the
heart is eternity. Do I understand you
correctly?
>> The laws which the Lord has written upon
our hearts. Yes.
>> Yes. Um so the heart I I hope I
understand you correctly.
>> So the heart is the seed
um of our souls.
Um, although it's a flesh thing, it's
where the spirit lives and it's also
where our emotion seeds are. And it's
because of the Hebrew word heart. And
it's the it's the lame and the bite that
spells the word le. It's the heart. And
that's why it makes also that sound
if you if you look at um medicine. Um so
the heart is not only a physical thing.
If you look at the Hebrew letters you
will understand it completely because
leop
which is the complete word of le the
heart means your spirit your soul your
emotions see. So it is the complete
inner being.
The fleshly heart is going to stand stay
behind. It's it's got actually nothing
to do with your flesh heart. It's about
the Hebrew word that compiles up what
the heart is about. And it's about the
soul and the spirit that's going to
heaven. Where Hebrews said, "And your
spirit, the Holy Spirit will testify
together with your spirit and your soul
that you are a child of God." It's about
that inner being of yours. And that's
why if it's inscribed in there, it's
going nowhere. It's going. It cannot be
ripped from there because it's not a
fleshy thing. It's about the Do I
understand you correctly? Did I answer
you correctly?
>> Thank you. Definitely gave me that that
little extra bit of clarity I needed.
So,
>> oh, and then I just want to clarify the
letter L for you. Lame is the shepherd's
book. When the Lord comes and he says
he's the good shepherd, he will guide
you and he's coming out of his house.
So it's the good shepherd that came
down. Isn't it beautiful? So that is
what he writes upon your heart. Okay.
Thank you, Dar.
>> Thank you. Thank you.
>> Dear Dre,
I've not heard your voice this morning.
I'm still processing.
>> Are you a first year OR A SECOND YEAR?
>> First year.
>> That's why you processing.
Listen. Um, it took Paul and Peter five
days to process and that's after they
received the Holy Spirit. So,
so take take your time. Honestly, take
your time. Is there anything that's
unclear? Do you understand the concept
that we um are not under the law? We are
not under that um
condemnation.
We are free from that. We live as free
children of God being accepted being
adopted as being our Elohim sons of the
most high.
Process that you are a son of the high.
>> Yeah. Yes. Okay,
>> I would like to ask you a question,
especially about the law and about the
Torah. Um, I have done a little bit of
uh research about the Ten Commandments,
but I've got two questions about the Ten
Commandments. It's about the Shabbat and
about the images of of what um Yahweh
said we cannot use. So the uh the image
is not that important right now, but I
mostly want to hear about the Shabbat.
Do we still have to do the Shabbat
according to the law? Like if I want to
understand it correctly, if you so we
are not under the under the law anymore,
but there are still Messianic people
that still believe that if you want to
be have more a blessing, you have to
keep the Shabbat. I want to understand
that one, please. Are you talking about
the Messianic Jews or the Orthodox Jews?
Because everybody
>> Okay. Okay. I've got to answer you. Is
the Shabbat Saturday? Okay. So now, now
we must remember. So the Shabbat is from
sun down to um sundown. You see that?
Not like we wake up with the kiss that's
outside and it starts in the morning and
tonight we go to sleep. No, no, no, no.
In Hebrew, the the start of the day is
sundown. So on Friday 6:00, everything
shuts down in in Jerusalem. Everything
until sundown Saturday. Y then they come
out in leaps and bounds and they start
partying. Okay. So when is Shabbat? Is
it that Saturday or is the Shabbat on
Sunday? like we keep the Sunday as the
holy day, the day of rest.
So first of all, if we want to talk
about the Shabbat,
we need to
answer the question, when is it? When
are we going to keep it? And when is it?
And here's my answer. Here's my answer.
Look at the Hebrew word. The Lord says,
"And on the seventh day, he rested." In
Genesis 2,
it kicks off with that that verse. It
ends in Genesis 1 and then it starts in
Genesis 2. It kicks off with the
Sabbath. Now, when he said, "And on the
seventh day, God rested is the first
time that the word Shabbat makes it
appearance in in the Torah, in the word
of God. And if you look at what
happened, he did not rest from his
works. His works continued.
Am I right? He rested from the work
that was done the first six days. But
then in Hebrews, and why I say is
because I I read in Hebrew scripture,
they they haven't something happened on
that seventh day. And I'm not going to
go into that now. Otherwise, we're going
to lose this part of this teaching.
But the Shabbat, the Hebrew word means
he dwelt in the kingdom.
So what he created on the first six
days, he started dwelling in it. And
that's why he dwelt with Adam.
So the Sabbath is a spiritual and that's
why the Lord says in Luke and I think um
in the other gospels as well where he
listen the the Orthodox Jews you cannot
even open a cupboard.
You're not allowed to open a cupboard.
Do you really want to go there? I don't
think so. They not allowed to pick up a
suitcase.
They not they stay in their houses from
sundown Friday to Sunday Saturday.
Sundown Saturday. They're not allowed to
pick up their keys.
There's no cars driving in Jerusalem.
And then the Lord did something. The
Lord Jesus Christ Messiah Adonai did the
following. He and his disciples walked
through a field with grain and they
picked the grain and they um ate the
grain and the Phariseeers went crazy
because of the desecration of the
Sabbath as they believed it should be.
And then the Lord spoke the following
words.
I am Lord over the Sabbath. The Sabbath
is not Lord over me.
So if we are in Christ and the Lord is
dwelling in his kingdom, he's coming to
take his kingdom. It's not good news for
Satan. It's good news for us though.
He's coming to take his kingdom back.
Adam was the ruler of Har the earth as
we know it. The Lord is coming to take
it back. But through the Lord, we are in
that position to take the kingdom back.
So the Sabbath is a concept of
understanding the kingdom, understanding
your position in the kingdom
and to dwell accordingly
in that kingdom.
Does it make sense?
It's good to rest.
The Lord
did put that day of sorry rest into
place for a for a for a reason.
We cannot continue 24/7. So that's also
a important concept. the things that the
Lord um uh in um oh now my English word
is gone pointed in in um in his rule
book if I can say it like that was for
the good of man not for the punishment
it was for the good of man so it's good
to rest
but if you remember that you are in
Christ and you are Lord over the Sabbath
the Sabbath is not Lord over you we
uphold that scripture
But with the right mind, the mind of
Christ.
Does it make sense?
We do not bend in front of anything
else.
as a means.
Okay.
Dr.
Hello.
Perfect.
Um, who did it
excited with
said, "And the Holy Spirit will teach
you everything that you need to know.
And because we love him, we want to
listen to him.
We want to listen to him.
>> That is the concept. That is the
concept.
Fore!
We love him and that's why we listen to
him and we do.
Yes.
Oh,
um, I
Um in Psalm 119 from verse 113 to 120
it's actually the the heading is called
>> oh
>> 119
>> oh
>> can I read it can I read it
the whole 190 it's got the whole Hebrew
alphabet
Oh wow. Okay.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Please read it to us. Yes.
>> It's seven verses. It says, "I hate
double-minded men, but I love your law.
You are my refuge and my shield. I have
put my hope in your word. Away from you.
>> I love your law.
Okay.
I hate a double-minded man, but I love
your law. You are my refuge and my
shield. I have put my hope.
Do you know that the Hebrew letter,
the ancient Hebrew is a shield?
>> Oh, wow.
>> Mhm.
Um, is a shield. The ancient later
is a shield
device.
Oh, okay.
Nice.
So
because it's about the law and the love,
the wedding band and the shield that the
sonic is. Isn't it beautiful?
And the he first come with I love your
law and then he comes with your word is
my shield.
It's beautiful, Nadia. Okay, continue.
Sit on. I speak again. Yeah.
>> I have put my hope in your word. Away
from me, you evildoers, that I may keep
your commands of my God. Sustain me
according to your promise and I shall
live.
>> Do not stop.
>> Sorry.
>> That's right.
>> The meaning of sake is to sustain, to
uphold, and to support.
Yes. How nice.
Okay. Sustain me according to your
promise and I shall live. Do not let my
hopes be dashed. Uphold me and I shall
be delivered.
I will always have regard for your
decrees. You reject all those who stray
from your decrees. For their
deceitfulness is in vain. All the wicked
of the earth you shall discard like
dross. Therefore I love your statutes.
My flesh trembles in fear of you. I
stand in awe of your laws.
So,
did the Lord just put it in your heart?
beautifully.
And that's what I want from this Bible
study. Um, I want us to interact. I want
one to come with scripture. I want one
to come with a revelation. I want one to
I want us to interact like the body of
Christ. I want someone to just ask a
question because that question opens up
a whole lot of other stuff. Um, Bible
study is about breaking bread together.
We are breaking the bread of God with
the with the um, uh, assistance of the
Holy Spirit together because this
scripture takes everything
and it puts it into a summary. So, we're
going to meditate on this
piece of Psalms 119. We're going to
meditate. Please um share it with us on
the group
um that scripture um so that we can go
and meditate because everything that
came out from all the different
scriptures that we did today is put into
those seven verses.
Spiritual perfection.
Wow. Nia. Wow. Thank you.
Wow.
Whom did I not talk to?
Is there anybody else?
Oh, Barbie. Barbara, where are you? Are
you still with us?
>> I'm here.
>> Yay.
Because you are not on my top bar, so
I'm searching for you.
>> What can you add for us? Would you like
to add something?
>> You know, uh, Dr. Petra, the only thing
I can say it is what I'm experiencing.
I'm also a first year. So I'm also still
still talkinging and processing you.
>> But it is just amazing how when you
actually start reading the scriptures
where a lot of people
may think that the Old Testament and the
New Testament is like two different
books but actually integrates
>> how we can use it in our daily lives.
It is just amazing how everything blends
in and how the Lord actually just
you know like in the body it's it's
built together
and the importance of us just spending
time and not disregarding the Old
Testament.
>> Absolutely.
Because the Lord is the same yesterday,
today and tomorrow. He's not going to
change. He's going to stay the same. And
um and what he said in the beginning, he
always said in the end and it stays the
same. And we need to take whole
scripture for our edification. We need
to look at all of it and and we will
find that was that what was written in
the Old Testament did not change. It did
not change.
It's design in the New Testament.
Well,
what happened?
You are still dead. Dr. Petra.
Yay.
Maybe
I'm so computer illiterate.
>> But thank you Dr. Petra for your time.
>> Oh, thank you so much.
>> Have a blessed day. Have a blessed day.
>> Thank you. Can I ask um Lady Noria to
end off for us please?
>> Thank you Lord for your goodness and
your mercy and thank you Lord for
teaching us. Thank you father that we
can just say you are a good father.
Thank you father that you are our
teacher. You are you lead us through
your spirit and we thank you father for
your spirit of truth father. Lord, I
bless each one receiving the word of
truth today, Lord, that it will uh bring
forth fruit, good fruit, Father, that
every um seed that was sown in our
hearts, Lord, that you will come with
your Holy Spirit, Lord. And we ask that
you will water those seeds and that that
it will bring forth life and life and
abundance in each one of us. Thank you
Lord that you will restore a a deeper
hunger and a thirst in each one of us to
understand your law and what it means to
love you father the meaning of true love
and the meaning of loving you and loving
your commandments. Thank you father that
you bring this to us and into our hearts
Lord and we choose to accept it today in
the name of Jesus. We bless also Dr.
Petra today for bringing the word and we
ask that you will be with her today
wherever she goes and also with each one
receiving it today. Lord protect us even
um as we go out today and Lord I ask
that you will help us to meditate
as we receive it in full in Jesus name.
>> Amen.
>> Thank you everybody. Have a good day.
>> You too. Bye
>> bye.
>> Thank you. Bye.
>> Bye-bye everybody.
Bye.
