0:00

- G'day guys,

0:01

Nick here again from Cpap reviews,

0:03

it's great to be with you today

0:04

we're going to be taking a look at the new ResMed f30i.

0:09

Now not too long ago,

0:10

I did a review on the ResMed f30

0:12

And in that review,

0:14

I suggested perhaps hold off for the release of this mask.

0:18

The reason being is that the F30

0:20

just wasn't getting great reviews,

0:22

and I had a feeling that perhaps

0:25

they'd learn from that feedback

0:26

and those bad reviews and implement some changes

0:29

with this new mask,

0:31

which I think they've done.

0:32

So in this video,

0:34

we're gonna be having a nice look at the mask.

0:35

I'm going to show you the different components

0:37

and how the mask fits together, and just be guiding you

0:39

with some of that feedback that we've received

0:42

from this mask. Okay, I think it could be a winner,

0:45

especially if you're someone that's struggling

0:47

with perhaps the claustrophobia

0:49

of a big full face mask,

0:51

or if you're struggling with the bridge of the nose,

0:53

or maybe you just want a little bit more freedom.

0:56

When you're moving around over nighttime.

0:58

Now one thing with this mask, is there's a lot of variety

1:01

when it comes to sizing.

1:03

Okay, there's this frame section,

1:07

you can get it in a small, medium and large.

1:10

And with the cushion section at the front,

1:12

you can get that in a small, medium, small wide and wide.

1:19

So because there is so much variety in sizing,

1:22

I think it's an important point

1:24

that if you want to go and get one

1:26

to not buy it online, you should probably go into a clinic,

1:29

have it properly fitted, go home, try it out,

1:32

and if you're not confident with the size,

1:34

that way you can go back to the clinic

1:36

and then maybe exchange it for a different size.

1:38

So that's my advice to you just regarding

1:40

the purchasing of this mask, okay a lot of variety in sizing.

1:45

But anyway, let's have a quick look at the mask

1:47

so you can see it nice and close.

1:48

And that way you get a better understanding

1:50

of how it all fits together.

1:51

Alrighty so this is a close up of the F30i,

1:53

I spin it around nice and quick

1:55

so you can have a bit of a look.

2:04

So the old F30 had the connection here now it's at the top

2:07

of the head.

2:08

We've got these nice magnetic clips on the bottom,

2:10

and we have exhalation ports at the front here, here,

2:13

here where the air is going to come out.

2:15

And also at the top, you can see there's holes there.

2:17

Beautiful thing about this mask, obviously,

2:20

you don't have anything up here so you've got nice,

2:22

clear line of sight as well.

2:24

Very less claustrophobic mask,

2:26

compared to some of the other full face masks available.

2:29

Obviously, when you don't have the connection here

2:32

and you have it at the top of the head,

2:33

means when you're lying down

2:34

like so the tubing connecting here,

2:36

you're not gonna have anything

2:37

sort of dangling around at the front of you here.

2:39

So it makes it easy just to sort

2:41

of turn around when you're sleeping.

2:42

Alright, I'll take the mask apart

2:44

so you can have a look what it looks like,

2:45

when you take the components off.

2:46

So these little frame sections,

2:48

you just literally just sort of, push down nice

2:51

and they pop out.

2:53

And this is the cushion.

2:59

This section here where the nose fits that's the part

3:01

that changes size.

3:02

I don't believe the actual mouth section changes size.

3:05

I think they've made it wide enough,

3:07

sort of a silicon part and then a harder silicon part here.

3:10

And then we have our frame assembly,

3:14

which is this silicon part with the hard plastic parts

3:17

on the end, and a headgear section.

3:19

And then last but not least, is the elbow section.

3:23

Okay, it's got little quick release parts.

3:25

But that's it nice and easy to take apart.

3:27

Nice and easy to clean and nice and easy

3:29

to put back together.

3:30

Okay, guys, I'd like to talk about the feedback

3:32

regarding the F30i.

3:34

The feedback for the F30 was horrible.

3:36

To put it bluntly,

3:38

but it was, especially for ResMed standards.

3:42

For the F30i, although it hasn't been around

3:44

a long period of time, the feedbacks been excellent.

3:48

Out of the 20 reviews I had a look at,

3:50

it was writing at 4.5 out of five stars,

3:53

and the reviews were glowing,

3:55

people were ecstatic that they'd found such an amazing mask.

3:58

So it's definitely one to put on your radar.

4:01

Most of the positive feedback was surrounding

4:03

the fact that this is a minimalistic full face mask,

4:07

and people were loving the fact that

4:09

they weren't having bridge of the nose issues.

4:11

And they felt more comfortable

4:13

when they were moving around over nighttime

4:15

going from back to side and so forth.

4:18

They also found that was a great seal,

4:20

and they also liked the fact they had that clear

4:23

sort of vision.

4:24

Another positive feedback

4:25

was they weren't getting tangled up

4:27

in the tubing when they were turning around.

4:30

Because this mask connects at the top,

4:32

it means it's much easier to maneuver in the bed.

4:35

Some of the negative feedback was regarding mask seal,

4:37

and that's common with most of my reviews.

4:40

Obviously, there's a large amount of faces and face shapes

4:43

and no shapes so it's quite hard for these manufacturers

4:46

to come up with masks that's gonna fit everyone,

4:49

ResMeds come up with quite a large variety

4:51

when it comes to the frame and the shapes

4:54

of the cushions for this mask.

4:55

So if you do go to a clinic

4:58

and try out the different cushions

5:00

you more than likely going to find one

5:01

that does fit your nose face mouth shape.

5:05

All right, guys, I'm gonna leave it at that,

5:07

I hope you enjoyed the video. If you did find it useful,

5:10

please give me the thumbs up, show your support

5:12

and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

5:14

On a final note, remember this mask

5:16

does have a lot of variety,

5:18

so if you are thinking of looking at it,

5:20

make sure you go into a clinic

5:21

and pick one up in the clinic.

5:23

Don't buy it online I know sometimes it's convenient,

5:26

and it's just easy to go and do it.

5:28

But go and show you support, go into a clinic, say hello,

5:32

get some face to face contact with a consultant.

5:34

And that way you know you're supporting those guys

5:37

that are putting a lot of money into having places

5:39

for you to go when you do get stuck with the gear.

5:42

So, I know there's online and now it's nice and cheap,

5:44

but every now and again just throw a bit of money

5:47

into the clinics. Otherwise,

5:49

they'll all be gone and you'll be left with me for support.

5:53

(chuckles)

5:54

Anyway, guys, I'll leave it at that,

5:56

I hope everything's going well with your sleep apnea,

5:58

and have yourself a great day.

6:00

Cheers.
