FULL TRANSCRIPT

0:00

well Google and Tesla just reported

0:02

earnings and they might be the Catalyst

0:05

for pushing the market over the edge and

0:08

not in the way that we want it to go

0:10

right before election season let's get

0:13

started with what the heck just happened

0:16

first of all sort of an intro here the

0:19

expectation and concern was that we

0:21

might hear something about slower

0:23

artificial intelligence revenues slower

0:25

growth combined with higher valuations

0:28

and the election and with well that's

0:30

kind of what we got Google confirmed a

0:32

Slowdown or more patience being required

0:35

before seeing uh AI profitability keep

0:39

in mind quality of their products is

0:42

increasing and the output of their AI

0:44

Innovation is increasing we'll talk more

0:46

about that in just a moment and Tesla

0:48

complained that Nvidia chip demand is so

0:50

high that they're basically forced to

0:53

make their own Dojo chips which once

0:55

again reiterates that Dojo is more of a

0:57

side project even though Elon does think

1:00

Dojo will be competitive at one point

1:02

with Nvidia they still need their Nvidia

1:05

chips and despite all of this nvidia's

1:08

stock is down about 1 and a half% in the

1:10

post market now that could change and

1:12

fluctuate rapidly and it seems like

1:15

demand should still be pretty dang well

1:17

there for NVIDIA especially with what we

1:20

heard from Tesla but the question now is

1:23

what are the details of what happened

1:25

here and could this lead to an AI

1:27

selloff I'll start broadly yes this

1:31

earning season could lead to a market

1:34

smaller kind of Correction before the

1:37

election but I've had that thesis for

1:39

about a week and a half to two weeks now

1:42

and what I've been doing is I've been

1:43

trimming positions in my course member

1:46

live streams I've been explaining my

1:47

positioning I'm about a five out of 10

1:50

on the bull bear scale and I've

1:52

increased the cash positioning in the

1:53

fund that I manage to up to about 30%

1:57

somewhere between 24 and 30% we also

1:59

trimmed our Tesla exposure by more than

2:02

50% going into these earnings and we

2:06

talked to course members this morning

2:08

about the concerns going into these

2:10

earnings some of those concerns that we

2:12

talked about going into this earnings

2:14

that we kind of already had a little bit

2:16

of a short squeeze over the last period

2:18

where Tesla ran up to

2:20

265 we also talked about

2:23

how it's right here this is like just

2:27

slap together some notes uh this was our

2:29

course live stream this morning uh and

2:32

uh we talked about Robo taxi the delay

2:34

killing momentum Robo taxi event likely

2:37

to be by the rumor sell the news going

2:39

to be years before Robo taxi is

2:41

commercially viable euphoric pricing

2:43

implies that these are all right around

2:45

the corner but they're not uh and today

2:47

for the stock you need what you really

2:49

need is even better margin in q1 a lot

2:51

of that unfortunately we saw in the

2:52

earnings came from regulatory credits a

2:56

return to free cash flow though look at

2:58

this I even wrote the Market's pricing

3:00

in 1.9 billion in free cash flow and I

3:04

wrote yikes that's a huge ask and sure

3:07

enough we missed on that free cash flow

3:09

we have to beat Market enthusiasm to

3:11

justify maintenance of 250 which I

3:14

didn't think it was going to happen uh

3:16

and uh Elon will be drilled about Robo

3:18

taxi sure enough this is what happened

3:21

and this isn't the place for

3:22

announcements sure enough that's exactly

3:24

what he said although we did get a few

3:26

insights none of them enough to actually

3:29

create any kind of sustained Euphoria

3:31

and therefore I wrote Ken it rally of

3:33

course but I lean towards not and that's

3:36

why I went in trimming uh going into

3:39

this earnings uh release so what did we

3:41

hear uh well let's get into some of the

3:43

details quick shout out we got prices

3:45

going up on the courses on building your

3:47

wealth soon so check those out at

3:48

meetkevin.com bundle coupons email us at

3:51

staff meetkevin.com we've got a

3:53

mastermind at meetkevin.com Mastermind

3:56

that's really popular we've got small

3:58

groups and private one-on-one

3:59

masterminds now uh so check those out at

4:05

and architect and Structural Engineers

4:08

if you are an architect or a structural

4:10

engineer and you want to relocate to

4:11

California we'll pay your relocation pay

4:13

you a great salary even if you're both

4:15

gosh but we'd hire separately as well

4:16

like a licensed architect licensed

4:17

engineer will help you get licensed out

4:19

here in California we need you send us a

4:22

uh a jobs request uh send us a resume

4:24

and sort of a 60-second uh pitch on you

4:27

to jobs meetkevin.com stru R engineer

4:30

and architect could be two separate

4:31

people all right folks let's get into it

4:34

Tesla regulatory credits increased 3x

4:37

year-over-year 2x sequentially from q1

4:39

all the way up to $890 million this is

4:42

remarkable and it's in part because what

4:45

you're seeing is a reduction in well

4:48

frankly other oems competing for these

4:51

regulatory credits as they're leaning

4:53

away from well quite frankly uh you're

4:57

leaning away from producing electric

4:59

vehicles

5:00

interest rate buy Downs helped Drive the

5:03

production and delivery numbers that we

5:04

saw in Q2 but I worry that this is a

5:06

little bit of what I call a good kitchen

5:08

sync quarter in other words it happened

5:10

to be the best quarter for Elon to have

5:13

a stock comp plan vote and so what did

5:16

we get in that quarter capex reduction

5:18

now it's ramping again in Q3 production

5:21

reduction now it's ramping again in Q3

5:23

interest rate buy downs and those are

5:26

also here in Q3 which is lowering the

5:28

average selling price of these vehicles

5:30

uh your average selling price right now

5:32

is down to about

5:33

$447 74 and it does look like the

5:37

average selling price uh is a reflective

5:40

of the interest rate buy Downs so those

5:42

interest rate buy Downs are coming off

5:43

that Top Line apparently uh anyway

5:46

you've got uh you've got a lot of

5:47

expenses that are still coming later

5:49

this year you do have a lot of cash

5:50

you've got over 156 billion doar of free

5:53

cash now about $2.5 billion of that did

5:57

come from debt that they just raised but

5:59

but you definitely have expenses that

6:01

are going to grow in the rest of the

6:03

year they still and they reiterated they

6:05

still expect to spend $10 billion in

6:07

capex and uh given that uh they slow

6:10

down their spending in Q2 it means we

6:11

got a lot of spending ahead of us

6:13

supercharger growth slowed to just 3.5%

6:17

sequentially which annualized to about

6:19

14% which is down about 10 percentage

6:21

points year-over-year this isn't great

6:24

this might lead to more congestion as

6:26

Tesla invites other charging customers

6:29

uh to use Tesla's supercharging Network

6:31

so you would actually expect the

6:32

supercharger Network to grow faster not

6:34

slower not seeing that at the moment the

6:36

Tesla did start delaying some of the

6:39

roll out to some of these other

6:40

thirdparty oems and you did end up

6:43

seeing uh some of the Tesla

6:44

supercharging team

6:46

rehired uh Tesla still focused on cost

6:49

reductions they were actually pinged on

6:50

this they're like why are you focusing

6:51

on cost reductions if you're trying to

6:52

grow more uh the same question came up

6:55

about Giga Mexico which I actually

6:56

thought the answer was pretty

6:58

interesting about when about this we

7:00

knew that gig of Mexico was on pause but

7:04

why was interesting it was previously on

7:06

pause because macro is concerning now

7:09

it's on pause because well if we

7:11

manufacture more outside the United

7:12

States like in Mexico we could get

7:14

screwed by

7:16

tariffs via a a you know president Trump

7:19

Administration which is also interesting

7:21

because we have essentially Elon himself

7:24

has confirmed that yes he is donating

7:25

about $45 million to a super pack that

7:28

is his which is supporting Donald Trump

7:30

for president anyway uh margin beat at

7:33

18% but again that margin

7:36

growth mostly moved because of that

7:39

expansion in regulatory credits so not

7:41

great increased deliveries from Shanghai

7:44

that's good audibles now available on

7:45

the car fine more affordable options

7:48

remain on track for 2025 and they are

7:51

expected to be built on the same

7:52

manufacturing lines as current Vehicles

7:54

only the robo tax is supposed to use the

7:56

unboxed method of uh Manufacturing this

7:59

is where you're not going down an

8:00

assembly line but rather multiple parts

8:02

of the vehicle are being assembled by

8:04

let's say Optimus robots at the same

8:06

time energ may continue to grow at a

8:08

faster Pace than cars that's exactly

8:10

what we're seeing right here you did get

8:12

a profit Miss EPS Miss again this is the

8:14

fourth straight time in a row Tesla uh

8:17

is also likely to go negative

8:19

year-over-year on vehicle deliveries

8:22

Elon on the conference call says

8:24

competing electric vehicles haven't done

8:25

well they do expect again that more

8:27

affordable model to begin production in

8:29

the first half of next year and it

8:31

sounds like one of the reasons They

8:32

delayed the robotaxi event to 1010

8:35

October 10th which is a momentum buzz

8:38

kill which isn't great for for the stock

8:41

uh is because they want to introduce

8:43

other models at that moment as well

8:46

which could be the lower cost model and

8:48

we also got a hint on the uh the

8:49

Roadster here that the Roadster

8:51

announcement might be coming for

8:53

production next year so you could see

8:55

something at the robo taxi event as well

8:57

for uh the Roadster higher end vehicle

9:00

now I personally have what I call a uh

9:03

sort of a I call it my this is inspired

9:06

by rust it's a video game Sorry I call

9:08

it my 2 by two foundation for investing

9:10

in stocks and the 2 by two Foundation is

9:13

built on four premises valuation pricing

9:17

power sentiment and momentum and

9:18

bankruptcy risk Tesla does not have

9:21

bankruptcy risk however Tesla's

9:22

valuation is very high before this

9:25

earnings report we were sitting at a 3.1

9:27

Peg for the next four years of growth at

9:29

32% EPS growth priced in that's

9:32

expensive that's because the PE Ratio

9:34

right now sits for this forward year at

9:37

100 now obviously you're going to have

9:39

about a 7% discount to that now given

9:40

that the stock is falling 7% the

9:43

valuation is very high for a

9:44

Manufacturing Company though which

9:45

should be closer to about 1.67

9:51

Peg pricing power in the industry though

9:54

pricing power in general for Autos is

9:56

substantially weaker than pricing power

9:58

at other companies sentiment and

10:01

momentum just got Buzz killed and again

10:03

I don't think there's bankruptcy risk

10:04

here so you're really missing two of

10:06

these foundations right the valuation is

10:07

high they do have in-class pricing power

10:10

they don't have bankruptcy risk but

10:11

sentiment and momentum really started

10:13

dying after that Robo taxi event got

10:14

killed and unfortunately this earnings

10:17

call is probably just going to

10:19

accelerate sentiment in the negative

10:21

Direction which isn't great uh so

10:24

near-term pricing not super excited

10:27

about it again there's a reason why it r

10:29

reduced my exposure to it by over 50%

10:31

leading into this earnings report and

10:33

we've been talking about this and

10:34

sending alerts about this uh in the uh

10:37

uh in the course member live streams and

10:38

talking about this as well but anyway

10:40

continuing on uh Elon believes we have

10:42

the scale uh and production capabilities

10:44

to be the most efficient EV producer in

10:46

the world and that that will be really

10:48

useful for Optimus production I just

10:50

want to be clear as much as I love the

10:52

whole idea of robotaxi and as Elon puts

10:54

at the Airbnb on Wheels you know

10:56

introduce your car to the fleet we've

10:57

heard all this crap before we're not

11:00

there yet and and I understand the

11:02

market can get really enthusiastic about

11:04

pre- pricing in these things but until

11:06

we actually see Revenue it's almost

11:09

impossible to price it in and to stand

11:11

on that valuation because we haven't

11:14

gotten to full self-driving unsupervised

11:17

yet we're still trying to get to you

11:19

know more than a few miles between

11:22

interventions and it's probably going to

11:24

take years before we get there this

11:26

doesn't mean I'm bearish long-term Tesla

11:28

but short-term

11:29

it's not good you don't want to price in

11:31

Robo taxi and you don't want to price in

11:33

Optimus in the short term yes Optimus

11:37

was doing something productive they

11:39

alluded to initially uh in their uh

11:42

their press deck release and then in

11:44

their slide deck release it's funny

11:46

because I I joked and you could fact

11:48

check me on this I joked about it live

11:50

I'm like what are they going to have the

11:51

Optimus putting batteries in a box

11:53

because they're like oh yeah we have the

11:54

Optimus working with batteries and uh

12:00

well I'll just I'll just let you look on

12:02

screen and yeah anyway 12.5 release for

12:06

FSD should be a big shift now we're

12:09

going to merge the highway and City

12:10

stack that's great uh this idea about

12:13

other oems using uh FSD have has once

12:17

again resurfaced in the earnings call

12:20

I'm tired of hearing this they literally

12:22

say yeah yeah other oems have expressed

12:24

interest they've been saying it for over

12:27

a freaking year now I'm overhearing it

12:30

it ain't happening especially when you

12:33

have the CEO at Ford going we're going

12:35

to make money with software they want

12:38

their own crap and guess who's going to

12:41

give them their own crap

12:45

Nvidia you could literally just take the

12:48

Nvidia Drive platform and plug it into

12:51

your garbage at Ford and build your own

12:54

software rather than paying Tesla for it

12:56

I'm not saying it's going to be close

12:59

but in five years they're all going to

13:01

have their own FSD and they're all going

13:04

to use their own crap this OEM stuff uh

13:08

licensing Tesla FSD I put a 1% chance on

13:12

it happening and if it happens by all

13:14

means I will eat my words I was wrong

13:17

about Google mind you and we're going to

13:18

talk about Google in just a moment they

13:20

really impressed so I absolutely can be

13:23

wrong and I I guarantee you I will be

13:25

wrong in the future again just saying

13:28

I'm I'm highly confident this whole OEM

13:30

licensing thing sorry anyway uh

13:35

Optimus is already starting to perform T

13:37

whatever this is nonsense uh eventually

13:39

yes he expects that Optimus will will be

13:41

able to perform tasks inside of the

13:43

facility uh at Tesla for Tesla uh and

13:47

that they'll have maybe a thousand robot

13:50

or um Optimus robots doing things

13:53

practically uh inside the facility so

13:55

that'll be Optimus version one and they

13:58

expect to get to Optimus uh version 2 in

14:03

2026 which maybe third parties can then

14:06

license license rent or buy uh long-term

14:10

Optimus achieves arcs valuation several

14:13

times over says Elon Musk but again that

14:15

implies that you don't have substantial

14:17

robot competition which you will also

14:20

have a substantial amount of robot

14:21

competition anyway uh when do you expect

14:24

the first Robo taxi uh ride the answer

14:27

was depends when we can get to

14:28

unsupervised FSD so it doesn't actually

14:30

sound like robotaxi is anything other

14:32

than just here's a car that uses FSD so

14:35

if you really want to know how well FSD

14:37

is going you just need to uh own a Tesla

14:42

and then watch the FSD upgrades now I

14:45

want to be clear FSD is really good when

14:49

I drive I use it all of the time uh so

14:55

I'm a big fan of it and it's gotten

14:57

better you know some of the first

14:58

versions of of 12 like 121 2 3 weren't

15:01

that great 124 is fantastic I absolutely

15:04

love it so don't get me wrong it's great

15:07

is it going to be driving itself anytime

15:09

soon

15:10

no uh next uh we've got uh this

15:14

potential Osborne effect Elon was

15:16

talking about which is where people

15:17

cancel their current orders because a

15:19

new uh product is announced and that's

15:21

why he doesn't want to announce any kind

15:23

of uh new product yet sure okay Elon uh

15:27

let's see here FSD and Europe is well

15:29

behind working on approvals to get

15:31

supervised FSD in Europe and China

15:33

hopefully by the end of the year uh in

15:35

the future you'll be able to open up

15:36

your app and we'll send a car to come

15:38

pick you up I understand this Arc thesis

15:41

that you know you're going to get 25

15:43

cents per Robo taxi mile or whatever I

15:46

also think that is broadly bull sh9t the

15:50

reason for that is I think every if

15:52

literally everyone who owned a Tesla in

15:55

every city submitted their car to the

15:57

robo taxi Network when they weren't

15:59

using it the value of a taxi will

16:02

plummet the cost will compress so

16:06

freaking rapidly you'll barely make a

16:10

dime uh over your cost vehicle

16:13

depreciation charging cost that it it is

16:15

going to compress instantaneously now

16:18

that'll destroy uberon lift but I think

16:20

you still got a few years for that all

16:22

right uh Google so okay Google I

16:27

actually have to say I'm really

16:29

impressed with oh yeah anyway so

16:31

short-term bearish

16:32

Tesla longer term I like it but I'd like

16:36

it cheaper uh so yeah you really also

16:41

need to get back over 230 otherwise on a

16:44

technical

16:45

basis you're going to probably go back

16:47

under 200 for Tesla anyway it's

16:50

something I've been warning about for a

16:51

few weeks in the course member live

16:53

streams as well people keep asking me

16:54

like oh what's going on with Tesla I go

16:56

it's going to go down like Q3 Q4 it's by

16:59

then it's going to go down it might

17:00

happen a little sooner than we

17:02

thought this going me be bearish I'm

17:04

just trying to be realistic and you go

17:05

back and get the receipts uh anyway when

17:08

you join those courses mind you you get

17:10

all my course member live streams going

17:11

all the way back to like 2017 so you

17:15

just pick my

17:16

brain all throughout the evolution it's

17:19

kind of

17:20

cool Google wants to bring AI to

17:23

everyone you know they're they're trying

17:25

to do a very similar to Apple thing it's

17:27

like oh what did I eat in that

17:28

restaurant at Paris last year I I don't

17:30

know why that's super functional but

17:32

whatever I guess it's cool uh and um it

17:35

sounds very apple-esque what they're

17:37

finding is that they're able to increase

17:39

efficiency uh for advertisements uh for

17:42

example their pmax product which is

17:44

performance Max it's what you could set

17:46

your uh ad account to uh it converts 25%

17:50

better than the non- pmax version that's

17:53

AI pmax uses Google's AI so what you're

17:56

finding is AI is just making products

17:58

better

17:59

quality of products is going up costs

18:01

are going down within companies but

18:03

they're not really driving incremental

18:05

revenues they're not necessarily

18:07

increasing the revenue line they're just

18:09

decreasing costs and making all products

18:11

better like more functional and useful

18:14

for end users which is a good thing like

18:17

net net AI is great but is it really

18:19

going to be this Revenue windfall

18:21

everybody's

18:22

expecting probably not in the in the

18:24

very near term uh and at some point we

18:27

don't know when that is that could be

18:29

you know quarters from now it could be

18:30

years from now at some point the cost of

18:32

AI chips will collapse because the AI

18:34

infrastructure will be built

18:36

out uh YouTube second most watched after

18:39

Disney for streaming YouTube's

18:40

benefiting from connected tv YouTube

18:43

benefits uh from more advertisers as

18:45

well search remained the largest

18:47

contributor to revenue growth retail

18:49

search specifically uh and they are

18:52

really kicking butt because they're

18:54

integrating Gemini right into Google I

18:57

actually think this was well played

18:59

I was wrong on this I thought people

19:01

would just use AI search apps as opposed

19:03

to Google and it would replace it but

19:05

frankly AI 40 or uh Google AI Google 4D

19:08

chest this and just basically built the

19:11

AI search results right into search and

19:13

now they put ads above and below it and

19:15

they're expecting to have product ads

19:17

within the AI

19:19

results brilliant absolutely brilliant

19:22

hands down loved what I heard from

19:24

Google loved what I'm seeing from Google

19:26

I'm a Google Cloud user all my companies

19:29

use Google we we're big fans uh 32%

19:32

operating margins YouTube subscription

19:34

revenues were growing healthy watch time

19:36

much slower pace of hiring with a slight

19:39

pace of growth going into Q3 this is

19:42

great that's anti-recessionary you don't

19:44

want to hear more layoffs they're

19:45

already negative like 2,000 it's about

19:47

1% smaller Workforce than what you had

19:49

year-over-year uh and and you are

19:51

growing so that's good but it shows you

19:53

you're kind of on a little bit a little

19:54

bit of a teeter there right planning to

19:57

invest $5 billion into way self-driving

19:59

car unit we uh are they're committed to

20:02

privacy but they're not getting rid of

20:03

cookies yet which I'm not really sure

20:07

how that is going to affect trade desk

20:10

because getting rid of cookies was kind

20:13

of what trade desk was really excited

20:15

about with uid 2 and this is their sort

20:19

of solution to cookies but then again

20:22

maybe you can get better data if you do

20:23

have access to cookies so it could just

20:25

be a net net neutral there for trade

20:27

desk so but anyway uh yeah it seemed

20:31

like markets reacted pretty negatively

20:33

to this idea that you weren't going to

20:35

get more revenue from

20:38

AI n phase uh despite a

20:41

19.5% Miss on micro inverter shipments

20:45

the stock is remarkably up 4 and a half%

20:47

and afters I think people were expecting

20:48

the worse they're expecting a big

20:50

collapse so hence the stock is up and

20:54

they indicated that customer demand is

20:55

up 5% in Q2 that 85% of Q Q3 shipments

20:59

are already booked inventory is

21:01

normalizing the sales Channel and uh

21:03

sales outside of Cal California is flat

21:06

sales are up 7% in Q2 outside of

21:08

California so you know for me you know

21:12

if I'm looking for Bu The Dip uh maybe

21:14

it's end phase or honestly it's just

21:16

waiting because I think there's a chance

21:19

going into this election you're going to

21:21

want a little bit of a cash buffer and

21:24

that's why I've been increasing like I

21:27

put my money where my mouth is

21:29

I I I can't advertise uh my Fund in here

21:32

I'm not trying to advertise my Fund in

21:33

here I I use it most I it's my own sort

21:36

of tool I I love it I think it's

21:38

fantastic but I just put my money where

21:41

my mouth is there so that's uh that's a

21:43

sort of a long-term uh vehicle and and

21:47

uh when I see opportunities for

21:48

short-term balancing uh I do that so I

21:51

like building cash uh and then when the

21:54

market dips bang I personally think

21:57

broadly not personalized advice for

21:58

folks now might be an opportunity for

22:00

some cash building so with that said

22:04

let's go ahead and pull up the sticks

22:06

here Tesla now down 7.91 per. I want you

22:09

to see we lost the 250 support this was

22:12

a really critical line we got rejected

22:14

there mostly throughout the day uh was

22:17

able to also uh make some profitable

22:19

well actually we had one profitable I

22:21

only made one trade today uh but anyway

22:23

profitable trade today if you want all

22:25

my uh short-term or long-term Buy sell

22:27

alerts can't guarantee you'll make money

22:29

but you'll get all my perspective make

22:31

sure you join the stocks and psychology

22:32

money group any of the courses on

22:34

building your wealth will give you

22:35

access to the course member live streams

22:37

for Life uh including all the the TA we

22:40

talk about short-term long-term alerts

22:42

the Discord Community you name it

22:44

Tesla's almost down 8% here the next

22:46

support level right now is sitting about

22:49

225 and if if we lose these 220s

22:52

unfortunately we're going to be back to

22:53

the 195s so watch these levels here at

22:56

Tesla uh Nvidia down after that Google

22:59

earnings call and NASDAQ futures also

23:02

down half of a percent Bitcoin is

23:05

sitting roughly around the levels that

23:07

we saw when Biden

23:09

resigned I think there could also be

23:11

some near-term risk offness in the cues

23:13

that spills over to bitcoin uh Google

23:16

negative about 1.76 1.8 so not too much

23:20

of a big move here uh on Google however

23:22

it is getting rejected by that 194 line

23:25

you can pretty much see that perfect

23:27

rejection here next stop is 152 if we do

23:30

start a downtrend I don't think Tes um

23:32

Google's earnings were bad enough to

23:33

really support that kind of downtrend

23:35

you'd really need a larger market

23:36

correction but we might end up getting

23:38

that so there you go thank you so very

23:41

much for watching really appreciate you

23:42

all uh remember we've got that amazing

23:45
