take a moment to imagine that you're in
the sea up to about waist height and
there's huge waves that need to pass
over you in order to get to the shore
now if you try and hold back and fight
those waves to stop them from getting to
the shore you're going to take a massive
tumble right
but if you accept that those waves need
to pass by
then the way that you face each wave is
different
you can focus on looking after yourself
in the process you can change your
stance ready you still might get lifted
off your feet for a moment but you're
going to be braced and ready to land
back down on your feet once it passes
now if you imagine that that ocean
you're stood in is all the painful
emotion you're dealing with when we try
to block it out and fight it we get in
trouble
but when we allow it to be here and take
its natural course that's exactly what
it does
and then instead of using all of our
strength to fight against that emotion
we can use it to look after ourselves in
the process while it passes naturally
