here welcome back to

an update on the whole governor campaign

so here's the thing after i posted the

video

running for governor with a full 20-part

plan

i got an insane amount of support

not just from those of you in the

comment section but in email

on phone and text and twitter and

instagram

everything i mean it's crazy the amount

of youtubers with

millions of followers or fewer followers

someone with like

14 million followers celebrities rappers

you name it i mean there's been an

insane outpouring of support especially

from people

who have left california and they're

like i want to come back to california

somebody just needs to fix california

and the

consistent theme i'm hearing is i can't

believe you actually

have a real plan it's not something

generic like yeah

we need better schools housing yeah

yeah yeah better

it's like actually a detailed 20-part

plan

with how to cut taxes how to fund the

tax cuts how to make things

better i've even gotten messages and

emails from law enforcement like

hey here's how we can make some of these

ideas even better

here are some thoughts on this like the

amount of insane support is crazy and i

love

hearing so many different ideas because

i know i'm not an expert in everything

i want to surround myself with experts

with people who know

what the best solutions would be whether

they're business folks or ceos or

expert police folks or expert you know

civil justice folks

whatever everything but there are a few

issues

and that is the uh the update for now

and i'm hoping to

get your help on some of these issues so

the first issue is

there's some other dude named kevin uh

also potentially running

in this recall which potentially creates

some issues

given that i go by meet kevin but i

don't think meet kevin could end up on a

ballot

so it like do you go with like meet

kevin p

you know my last names not uh the most

easy

to pronounce or to read i mean i think

it's pretty easy

when you've heard it said before but

when people hear it the first time they

get very confused

it's paff wrath which i know is not very

like

campaigny you know it's not like trump

maybe i should change it

i don't know but but the point is uh

it's obviously a little bit more

challenging so i got to figure that out

like meet kevin p and i i don't know if

you have suggestions

on how to actually brand that uh you

know meet kevin something

or something different i i don't know if

you have any suggestions i'd love to

hear

from you let me know what you think in

the comments because uh yeah the last

thing we want to do is brand for some

other

kevin okay uh then

uh the the other thing is i like

apparently

you to run a campaign and i mean this

makes sense you you need a whole

lot of people i mean like people who are

really good at doing pulls and people

who are campaign managers and then

finance managers and donation managers

and fundraise managers and

marketing managers are like okay i'm

not quite sure where to begin finding

people who are experts at this kind of

political stuff

so if you know somebody or you think you

would be fit

for helping in any way shape or form

because you've got experience in

politics

or or you're down to campaign or you're

down to

whatever if you've got any kind of

experience um

or even if you don't have experience and

you would just want to help say that

it's all in the right place

you have experience in running campaigns

or you don't you just want to help

or you're a videographer you're an

editor your marketer or whatever you

know how to do any of this kind of stuff

or anything related to a campaign

part by part okay so name issue

people issue uh and then

there's there's this third issue which

uh is

a little challenging and i want to have

a conversation about that

so my whole video about running for

governor was

about my 20-part plan and my vision is

seeing that 20-part plan

executed like i want as much of that

20-part plan executed as possible

i want all of it actually i think it's

great and sure are there some things

that'll probably need modifications of

course like we'll have to

figure out all the logistics and details

of the future schools idea of the

taxation idea

of the virtual id thing i mean these are

things that

i mean there's a reason when you have

government there's a reason government

is big

you i mean especially when you have big

ideas you need lots of people to help

actually make it happen uh and the most

important people

to initially get the ball rolling when

it comes to running government is

congress

and in california you have a

very very democratic congress elected by

californians so californians have given

democrats

in california a super majority

now i think i'd like to think that

with strong new leadership we can do

some amazing amazing things in

california

but here's a little bit of an issue so

this is a recall election right now

nancy pelosi gavin newsom

and the democrats running the show in

california and the democratic party

are branding the recollection which is

what's happening this year in 2021

they're branding this recall election

as a republican assault to overthrow

the democrat governor and so my concern

is

let's say somebody like caitlyn jenner

gets in okay caitlyn jenner republican

takes over

and takes gavin newsom's seat what do

you think

the democrats in control are going to do

for the next year

until the 2022 election and the real

general election comes up where

basically democrats would have another

shot

to get a democratic governor elected

again my guess is

democrats as soon as a republican walks

in his recall election are going to go

hands on the butt and do nothing

and in some ways that's just classic

politics democrats have a super majority

that is what californians elected they

elected

democrats have a super majority and then

you think oh well i mean the governor

would have negotiating power because

they could veto stuff

wrong because when democrats in congress

have a super majority

they can override any veto so literally

they could run the state

without the governor the governor would

would pretty much be worthless

in that potential scenario best case

scenario the governor survives for a

year

as a republican wins again in 2022

but then tries to change the balance of

power in congress to flip california to

all republican

which let me just give you the numbers

in in that case scenario that and i'm

saying best case scenario for a

republican right

let me give you the numbers here right

now the california assembly is 58

democrats

and then 20 non-democrats i think it's

19 republicans and one independent

so like you would literally have to flip

a vast majority

it's gonna be very difficult uh then the

senate is 31 democrats and nine

republicans

same problem like you're going to have a

democratic majority probably for the

next

decade in this state so then

the issue is okay well then oh and then

you've got to know this as well the way

the recall election works is like this

people get a ballot and it's one ballot

and it says should gavin newsom be

recalled

and it's either yes or no if

a simple majority of people vote to

recall gavin newsom so more than 50

percent of people say yeah get rid of

gavin newsom

then people on the same ballot are asked

at the same time

okay who would your other candidate be

that would get tallied up at that point

and then whoever got the most votes

would become governor which is really

complicated because you you kind of have

to win two elections

you have to win the dethroning of

newsome

but then you also have to win as

governor the like the person who gets

the most votes

as long as newsome gets recalled so it's

really really complicated

so most people are running as

republicans because the idea is well

it's easy as a republican

to run because you're like yeah recall

newsome you're campaigning for the same

thing

you're campaigning for yeah get rid of

newsome and vote for me

that's consistent that makes sense

if you vote but then again you might get

stuck in congress

where nothing gets done because the

democrats put their hands under their

butts and they have all the power right

the other flip side is you give

californians

an alternate option as a democrat if you

give an alternate option as a democrat

you get in you could probably actually

make big changes happen because

well you would be a democratic governor

in control of a democratic

uh state and and potentially you can

lead the change as we talked about

ideally all of the changes in the

20-part plan

by working with the negotiating with the

people in congress it would make sense

and you'd be in the same party

so it would make sense that you'd be

able to work together

more easily okay so that's an idea

but the problem is if you run as a

democrat

the big issue is you run as a democrat

all of a sudden

you're saying yeah recall gavin newsom

while at the same time saying

vote for me instead as your democrat but

the democratic party

wants newsom to stay so you're kind of

like

you're kind of in a really weird spot

for this recall election because if you

go republican and win

you might get stuck with no power if you

go as a democrat

and win you have power but

you have to burn the existing democrat

who's in office

to get in or you have to try to brand it

as

hey we're not trying to screw the

existing democrat if newsom gets kicked

out

he can't be a an alternate replacement

so hey you could be that next best

thing that next best choice that could

usher in new change so now

i'm gonna leave this to you i really
