hello and welcome to another karo

tutorial video in this tutorial we will

have an overview on senses and their

applications sensor blocks encapsulate

specific readings received from input

devices which are connected on the

engineer controller in karo sensor

blocks are characterized by the

following features one light blue color

and rounded rectangle shape they can be

placed in slots found in other blocks to

an input icon each sensor has its own

unique symbol to indicate its purpose

three port property a drop-down list

that enables the selection of the port

in which the sensor component we want to

use is connected while the program in

the sensor block is executed the program

received the senses readings at that

very instance and processes them as an

input value depending on the sensor

block the input takes the form of a

numerical or a boolean value some senses

require some sort of calibration before

their use in order to work efficiently

in different environments for example

the IR sensor can distinguish a black

from the white surface or can detect an

object from a distance thus it must be

calibrated at the optimum triggering

distance so that the robot will know

when to act in a true awful situation

the calibration is done from the live

readings panel state true activates the

IR sensor for wide surface and for

distances equal or smaller than the

distance to the object state false

activates the IR sensor for black

surface and for distance is larger than

the objects distance using a combination

of sensors can change the flow of a

program and provide a wide variety of

options to program your robot
