0:00

and it's lowering the front of the car

0:01

down right now oh my god oh yeah

0:04

ready here we go

0:14

oh geez hey everyone meet kevin here in

0:17

this video you are going to get a

0:18

complete review of the tesla model s

0:20

plaid i think this video is important to

0:22

watch whether you are a shareholder of

0:24

tesla or you're interested in

0:26

potentially becoming a tesla owner i'm

0:28

going to show you and tell you some

0:29

things that might not be the most

0:31

bullish about tesla but i'm also going

0:33

to tell you things that i think are very

0:34

bullish for tesla so in my opinion

0:37

you're going to get a very non-biased

0:38

review in this video even though i'm a

0:40

tesla shareholder i'm not going to hold

0:42

back i'm going to tell you why i think

0:44

tesla is able to increase their margins

0:46

the way they are because i think they're

0:47

cutting some corners let's get into the

0:49

review of the video keep in mind that i

0:51

have had this tesla since december 10th

0:53

it was an early christmas present to

0:55

myself it is a butter purchase which

0:57

means it melts away in value it is not

1:00

an investment purchase but i did it i

1:02

did give my tesla model x which is a

1:04

2017 model which i'll be making some

1:07

compare comparisons between i did give

1:09

that to my father who is absolutely in

1:11

love and now i can say my dad rides my

1:13

black ex so dad

1:16

you like the x

1:18

tell me about it it's nice but there are

1:20

some things that this car has

1:22

that the x didn't have and there are

1:23

some things that this doesn't have that

1:25

the x did have kind of bugs me since i

1:27

just paid over a hundred and forty eight

1:29

thousand dollars for this car

1:32

the first of which

1:34

sounds a little first world problem-ish

1:36

but the frunk is substantially smaller

1:39

on this now it makes sense because this

1:42

is a smaller car or so it seemed because

1:44

this car actually i'm pretty sure we'll

1:47

put up the stats is longer than the

1:49

model x

1:50

but because it's not as tall the frunk

1:52

is relatively small on the model x you

1:56

have a much

1:57

deeper front which i much prefer i have

2:00

a lot of stuff that i could put in the

2:01

front can't put that much into here

2:04

somebody could definitely crawl in like

2:06

fully crawl into the front not that

2:08

anybody ever would of the other one and

2:09

you could close it comfortably this not

2:12

happening uh so it is what it is it's a

2:15

sand i get it maybe i'm being overly

2:16

critical with that one thing that the x

2:18

had that was really annoying was when i

2:19

went to close this with one hand it

2:21

wasn't possible i'd either have to sit

2:23

on it which is a bad idea because then

2:24

your pants could scrape up your hood or

2:26

you'd have to use two hands to close it

2:27

i'm gonna try to one hand close this one

2:29

that's good so they fix that on the

2:32

model s so that's good because this if

2:34

you have an older x you know this was a

2:35

big annoyance and it was mostly

2:37

something i think that tesla just kind

2:38

of failed to think about that you should

2:40

be able to close your frunk with one

2:42

hand uh something that i did notice as

2:45

well about the model s

2:48

is i pulled this up to a garage and i

2:51

opened the back and the model x is

2:53

really good about having sensors that

2:56

know if you're going to hit something

2:58

i don't believe this has sensors if

3:01

you're going to hit something

3:02

so the model x if you want to open the

3:04

falcon wings or the back it wouldn't

3:06

know if something was above you and it

3:08

would not open just

3:10

from whatever sensors it had i don't

3:12

believe this has that i'm just going to

3:14

kind of be here

3:16

yeah no absolutely not so if uh you

3:20

parked too close to a garage or

3:21

something this would definitely

3:23

cause some damage to your to your back

3:25

door now uh in my opinion and i've left

3:28

the trunk kind of a mess but that's okay

3:29

i just threw some things in here we'll

3:30

talk about the trunk in just a moment uh

3:32

in my opinion that is something that a

3:34

premium luxury car like this in 2021

3:38

should have the back trunk shouldn't

3:41

be able to smash into something without

3:43

sensor stopping you now obviously the

3:44

trunk is going to be a little bit

3:46

smaller than the model x you don't have

3:49

that same height that you do on the

3:50

model x but again makes sense

3:52

it's a sedan now with the model x if you

3:55

had all seven seats out you'd have less

3:58

space in this trunk the model x was

4:00

basically

4:02

a non-functional trunk vehicle if you

4:04

were using all seven seats this has a

4:06

lot of nice space and one thing if you

4:08

come a little closer that's really nice

4:10

here is that this this is pretty flimsy

4:13

so if you set heavy things on here like

4:16

in real estate i used to set tile on

4:17

here

4:19

you you want a good support under this

4:21

this is

4:22

pretty flimsy so i don't love that but

4:24

one thing that is nice is look at this

4:26

this frame all the way around right here

4:28

that's actually quite valuable because

4:30

if you put this down you want it to be

4:33

able to support that weight or if you

4:35

have little kids that go back here

4:36

that's a good thing the original model x

4:39

all it had were these two little plastic

4:42

pieces that stuck out like this to hold

4:44

the whole shelf that was really stupid

4:46

that because that actually broke and

4:48

then i get it fixed you do have a lot of

4:50

little other nooks and crannies over

4:51

here nook over here you've got a lot of

4:53

another i don't know what you would even

4:55

call that a little nook over there

4:56

although it kind of looks like no yeah

4:58

you could put whatever you want over

4:59

there and cover it up with this little

5:01

side panel here so that's neat um

5:04

doesn't this is kind of odd

5:06

this i don't love you know i i just

5:08

noticed this but it's for what it is if

5:10

you come in a little closer here for a

5:12

140 8 000 card this shouldn't be

5:15

unfinished like this especially since if

5:17

i peel this back it's really just the

5:19

body of the cars down here and you can

5:20

see some insulated foam if you come a

5:22

little maybe stand up and come a little

5:24

closer here you can get a good peek in

5:25

here

5:26

that's that's weird that it's like this

5:28

i mean whatever nobody sees it it's

5:30

under here but a little bit of that

5:33

kind of classic tesla fit and finish

5:35

yeah it's okay

5:37

i i imagine this has an auto stop if it

5:39

hits on the way down it does okay but

5:41

that's normal you would expect that

5:42

carbon fiber here probably shouldn't try

5:45

to close it from this i don't want to

5:46

cause damage to that so close this now

5:48

if you come close to this right here

5:50

when i go to unlock

5:53

the car that motor sounds pained i don't

5:57

know how long the servo in here is

5:58

actually going to last when it's already

6:00

making sound like that listen to this

6:02

closely i'm going to put my mic a little

6:04

closer to it i'm going to lock it here

6:06

not so bad on the lock but when i open

6:08

this

6:10

it sounds pained now i like it it's nice

6:14

one thing that you don't have on this

6:15

though is the option to have

6:16

self-presenting doors and that was on

6:18

the upper end model of the model x the

6:21

doors would actually open the handles

6:23

will self present and the doors could

6:24

open automatically for you when you

6:26

walked up to the driver door which was

6:28

awesome

6:29

this sounds really first world but

6:31

having driven a model x and having the

6:34

pleasure and almost the luxury of

6:36

getting in the car stepping on the brake

6:39

and then having the door close on me is

6:41

something i've gotten really really used

6:43

to and i know it sounds extremely first

6:45

world but it's odd because every time i

6:48

get in this car i step on the brake and

6:49

i'm like ah that's right i just spent

6:52

148 grand to do this

6:56

and again super super first world and

6:59

probably highly unrelatable unless you

7:00

have a model x but i'm just thinking

7:02

myself why did a car four years ago have

7:04

that and then this one doesn't so it

7:06

makes me wonder like

7:08

is this how tesla's getting the margins

7:10

up are they cutting out on sensors in

7:12

certain places like the back opener are

7:14

they cutting out on the feature of

7:15

having a self-closing door

7:17

bothers me a little now inside something

7:19

i love

7:21

this feels really nice the leather is

7:23

incredible seats are really nice really

7:26

nice quality it's

7:29

80 percent better i had the white

7:31

leather uh last time this feels a lot

7:33

more luxury i don't know if it's the

7:35

finish or the trim or what it is they

7:37

did it just gives you more of a

7:39

luxurious feel maybe it's the sort of

7:41

the breathability of the leather here or

7:42

whatever it is this feels a lot better

7:45

than what the model x had so definite

7:48

improvement there

7:49

now this one i gotta say

7:52

i've got some beef with the steering

7:53

wheel

7:54

and i love

7:56

innovations but this one bothers me

7:59

first of all you're driving you're in a

8:01

panic oh crap someone's cutting me off

8:05

nothing happens why because in a panic

8:08

someone cuts you off you want to honk

8:10

you got to somehow move your thumb over

8:12

here which your thumb ain't going to

8:14

reach because you got to push that

8:15

button

8:15

[Music]

8:17

i got time for that in an emergency and

8:20

the fact that

8:22

that does not work is a safety problem

8:25

in my opinion that that is not good this

8:28

should work as well as that button if

8:29

you want but have both

8:32

don't love that at all the horn should

8:34

function as an emergency intuitive

8:37

feature and it doesn't and for not to

8:39

function in this weird another thing

8:42

the the turn signals i know in the

8:43

future when we have autopilot all this

8:45

stuff is going to be auto weird the left

8:47

and right right here but this is

8:49

something to get used to i can get used

8:50

to the turn signals being right here i

8:52

will say what i do like is when i set

8:55

the turn signal and then i'm on the

8:56

highway or whatever and i change lanes

8:59

as soon as i'm done changing lanes it

9:01

automatically turns the turn signal off

9:03

see like in the bmws

9:05

if you would set the turn signal like

9:07

halfway it would just blink three times

9:09

and assume you were done with the

9:10

blinker after that or you had to set it

9:12

all the way and manually turn it off

9:14

this will turn it off once it senses

9:16

that you've actually made your turn or

9:19

change lanes love that that's a great

9:21

feature now uh in terms of of driving

9:25

this is probably best suited for when

9:29

you're actually driving so let's give it

9:31

a shot and i'll show you where my

9:32

frustrations are before i show you that

9:34

the turning issue with this let me also

9:37

mention that i do think this is not as

9:39

intuitive as it could be uh if i want to

9:41

go forward uh it i seem to always get

9:44

this backwards so i want it to go

9:47

forward but and i kind of feel like i

9:49

should pull it back to go forward and i

9:51

have my stuff on the floor there i'll

9:52

pick that up in a little bit uh but you

9:54

actually have to push the little icon

9:56

forward which it makes sense it makes

9:58

sense something else to get used to i

10:00

don't know if that's just a me thing but

10:01

i keep wanting to pull it back to go

10:03

forward

10:04

i don't know why but anyway let's go and

10:06

this is where i kind of noticed my first

10:08

annoyance is driving slow with this yoke

10:11

this is weird like i i never want my

10:13

arms to cross this in my opinion is very

10:16

dangerous uh so like with with a

10:19

circular steering wheel you could slide

10:21

your hands around but you can't really

10:23

do that because it's a weird pretzel on

10:24

this end and there's nothing to grab

10:26

onto on this end so i find myself kind

10:28

of doing this but then i'm also

10:30

restricted with my range of motion so in

10:33

in

10:33

slow driving

10:35

this is

10:36

weird so if i go to make a left turn

10:38

over here

10:40

what i found the best thing to do is

10:42

palm this yoke right here and then i can

10:45

kind of get back to my original turn and

10:48

i still try to slide but notice how my

10:50

hand fell off there in the slide i

10:52

usually like my hand to stay having

10:55

contact on the wheel while i let you

10:58

know while that turn finishes that's

11:00

something that i've just grown up with

11:02

driving so we'll do it again here we'll

11:04

do a left turn here

11:06

and again i palm it and i really have to

11:09

kind of stay with it

11:11

which is just weird it's just another

11:13

step to stay get used to that's okay

11:15

that didn't seem that bad because again

11:17

it's just something that you have to get

11:18

used to but they're definitely at slower

11:20

speeds times where it's like wow this is

11:22

bizarre now for driving faster this is

11:26

amazing so if you're going to launch

11:28

this you go into cheetah mode and you're

11:30

going to launch this or you're just an

11:32

autopilot great but again if i go to let

11:34

go here

11:35

there's nothing and all of a sudden

11:36

you're off the wheel kind of weird again

11:39

something probably just to get used to

11:40

but for autopilot driving you get

11:43

maximum visibility with this half wheel

11:45

here and i think that's really what the

11:47

car is designed for is that eventually

11:49

you're just not going to have to touch

11:50

this with the exception of the little

11:52

wobbles here now one thing i was worried

11:55

about upgrading to a newer tesla was

11:57

that because they have the in-cabin

11:59

camera uh i was a little nervous that

12:01

privacy wise i just was gonna get a

12:03

million more notifications about touch

12:06

the wheel more often because i'm looking

12:08

off into the distance or i'm changing

12:09

the song or whatever uh i timed the the

12:12

notifications because this does have an

12:14

in-cabin camera and i set it on

12:16

autopilot on the highway and i timed

12:18

that it would generally ask me to wiggle

12:20

the wheel every about on average 35

12:23

seconds

12:24

sometimes it would go as long as 59

12:27

seconds without having me to wobble the

12:28

wheel but that was only when i was

12:30

staring at the road with my eyes open

12:33

like this just bluntly staring at the

12:35

road which generally people don't do but

12:37

if you're blinking if you're looking

12:38

around you're gonna expect to wobble

12:40

this wheel uh yolk whatever uh every so

12:43

about 30 35 seconds and i found that

12:46

that was true whether you were just

12:48

looking at music or i'm just gonna say

12:51

it if you're looking at your phone

12:53

testing purposes if you were kind of

12:55

just doing this even just for giggles it

12:57

still had about that 30 second 35 second

12:59

cooldown in terms of when it would ask

13:01

you to wobble the wheel and that was on

13:02

a highway with autopilot on now another

13:05

thing is if you're one-handed driving

13:06

with your right hand

13:08

good luck setting the blinker you're

13:10

gonna have to get your left hand up here

13:12

and a single hand drive with your left

13:14

hand which i suppose isn't that big of a

13:15

deal depending on how you're used to

13:16

driving in the meantime though something

13:18

that i do really like is i love that

13:20

you've got these built-in contact

13:22

chargers right here so you just plop

13:23

your phone in here or here and your

13:26

phone's charged in the spot this is also

13:28

pretty cool

13:29

is this little thing you can kind of

13:31

just

13:32

pull this back and it opens up this

13:34

whole segment your cup holders here uh

13:36

your your little tray that you've got

13:38

here something where you could probably

13:39

hide things which nobody knows look at

13:41

that it goes down even deeper into this

13:43

black and this goes down deep i mean you

13:45

could definitely put two or three

13:47

handguns in there nobody would know not

13:49

that i have any

13:50

oh look i didn't even know this the cup

13:52

holder goes back oh that's incredible oh

13:55

and you have usbc plugs down here

13:58

and a cigarette lighter

14:00

that is incredible i did not even know

14:02

those were under the cup holder two usbc

14:05

plugs that's pretty cool see even i just

14:06

discovered that

14:08

uh this also

14:09

opens up to another little compartment

14:11

that you've got over here so i love

14:13

everything about the inside very

14:15

minimalist great

14:17

one thing that does bother me is the

14:19

whole like when you opt in for the

14:22

self-driving beta you will end up having

14:24

nightmares about your safety score i

14:27

woke up at 2am yesterday and swear i saw

14:31

my safety score was like 70 and i'm like

14:33

oh my gosh what did i do wrong and i was

14:36

up for an hour sweating about oh my gosh

14:38

what's my safety score and every time i

14:40

would look at my phone i didn't have a

14:42

safety score yet so i've had the car

14:44

four days now

14:45

and still no safety score now in

14:47

fairness i did uh opt-in late on when i

14:50

turned on my safety score so it's

14:51

probably been about

14:53

48 hours-ish that i've been opted in on

14:55

the safety score still no score

14:58

i hear rumors that you have to drive at

15:00

least 500 miles i don't know when i'm

15:02

actually going to get to 500 miles kind

15:04

of inconvenient because i want to

15:07

experience the full self-driving beta as

15:08

soon as possible which is actually one

15:10

of the reasons i got this car because

15:12

the model x would need a camera hardware

15:14

upgrade in addition to the chip hardware

15:16

upgrade which i had already gotten

15:18

but the camera hardware upgrade is not

15:20

available yet kind of frustrating but i

15:22

want to be and i want to see what the

15:24

cutting edge of technology is and i

15:26

can't yet now i want to be clear about

15:27

this i paid ten thousand dollars for

15:30

full self driving now you have to get

15:33

invited to the full self-driving beta

15:36

but you can only get invited to the full

15:39

self-driving beta once you have a safety

15:41

score that is relatively close to 100 so

15:45

like 100 99 98 97 i believe i'm not sure

15:48

if they're doing 97s yet they invite you

15:50

to full self-driving for the beta over

15:52

time but in order to even potentially be

15:55

eligible for the beta you have to get a

15:58

safety score i've spoken to many people

16:01

who have given me troubleshooting tips

16:03

like reinstall the apps make sure you're

16:05

updated make sure you're close to wi-fi

16:07

try a different phone i have used every

16:09

method possible i have taken this car to

16:11

tesla service and tesla service

16:14

literally just told me quote be patient

16:16

i will put up on screen their service

16:19

letter saying nothing's wrong just be

16:21

patient and i hate to say it but folks i

16:24

am coming up on one month of owning this

16:27

vehicle we are at 29 days of owning this

16:29

vehicle and i still do not have a safety

16:32

score with about 500 miles on the car

16:35

it's really frustrating because i bought

16:37

this car because i wanted to do videos

16:41

showing off the self-driving of this car

16:43

so i spent 148 000

16:46

excited to just potentially get invited

16:48

to the full self-driving beta i'm not

16:50

asking to skip anyone in line i'm just

16:52

asking the car to even give me a chance

16:54

to get in line it's kind of like

16:57

everybody's in line for the full

16:58

self-driving beta and i try to get in

17:01

line and there's a security guard going

17:02

no no you're not allowed in the line

17:04

like i'm not even allowed to get in the

17:05

line because this is what i get i kid

17:07

you not it has been

17:09

29 days and this is what i have so i

17:12

will say extremely frustrating so if

17:15

you're getting this car and you're gonna

17:17

pay the ten thousand dollars for the

17:19

full self-driving beta and you think

17:21

you're definitely gonna be able to get

17:22

in line

17:23

hold your breath okay you might not you

17:26

might never be able to get in which is

17:29

extremely frustrating and nobody at

17:32

tesla actually gives a crap about

17:34

helping you because i called in they

17:37

said sorry nothing we can do just wait

17:39

the service center sorry nothing we can

17:41

do just wait this is this is clearly a

17:43

bug when other people are getting a

17:46

safety score within 24 hours of owning

17:49

the car and it literally says the safety

17:52

score will be available after your first

17:53

trip but it's not

17:55

i have to say i'm pissed off i'm really

17:58

upset about tesla with this now i will

18:01

say as a tesla investor honestly this

18:04

means there's still so much improvement

18:06

for tesla and i've always said that once

18:08

tesla deals with all the problems they

18:10

have i'm not going to invest in tesla

18:13

anymore because that means we've

18:14

probably reached peak potential so as an

18:17

investor i actually like sometimes that

18:20

tesla still has problems because it

18:22

means we're going to have lower adoption

18:24

we're not going to get to that mass

18:25

adoption just yet and that's okay

18:28

because there's enough tesla demand

18:30

right now to maximize production at

18:32

tesla factories but when we get two

18:34

years down the road these problems

18:36

better be fixed because then tesla's

18:38

going to have more gigafactory capacity

18:40

and we're going to need those perfection

18:43

buyers the mercedes and the bmw buyers

18:46

who are like i want it perfect i want

18:48

the horn to work i don't want to have to

18:49

move my finger to press the horn in an

18:51

emergency if i pay 10 000 for full self

18:54

driving or more in the future i better

18:56

have a safety score after my first trip

18:58

like the app says when those people

19:00

start adopting tesla then i think that's

19:02

where tesla becomes

19:03

the the max mainstream that it can go

19:06

and then that in my opinion is where we

19:09

start getting potentially to peak style

19:11

growth maybe that won't happen until

19:12

2025 2030 so ironically the more of

19:16

these little annoyances i have the more

19:18

it's assigned to me that tesla still has

19:20

that room for growth and improvement

19:22

because as long as you have room for

19:23

improvement you have room for growth so

19:25

i know this is like a really twisted way

19:27

of looking at it but i i i will say i'm

19:30

frustrated i'm extremely frustrated that

19:33

i went from a model x which i cannot get

19:36

full self-driving in the model x which

19:38

is a 2017 vehicle because it doesn't

19:40

have the updated cameras yet and you

19:42

can't buy the updated cameras yet even

19:44

though elon musk said hey we're coming

19:45

out with the updated camera soon now i

19:48

hear rumors that they're coming out with

19:49

the updated cameras for the model x and

19:51

i bought a new car to experience full

19:53

self-driving and i still can't because i

19:55

don't get a safety score so i kind of

19:58

personally feel screwed i feel like i

20:00

got taken advantage of i don't know what

20:03

i'm doing wrong and nobody at tesla can

20:05

tell me if i'm doing anything wrong

20:07

because i've gone through all the

20:08

troubleshooting steps and i'm still not

20:09

getting what i feel like i paid for and

20:12

again i'm not asking in an entitled way

20:14

to get to the front of the line that's

20:15

not what i'm asking for i just do feel

20:17

like i'm getting ripped off now let's

20:18

talk about my experience with a launch

20:20

mode or a cheetah mode this is basically

20:23

where you hold down the brake of the car

20:26

then hold the gas after putting it on

20:28

drag strip mode you could choose to wait

20:30

for peak performance or not which it

20:32

shows you on screen

20:33

and then you let go of the break and the

20:36

car launches this is where you get that

20:38

about 1.9 second zero to 60. take a look

20:42

oh

20:43

cheapest

20:45

[Music]

20:49

oh my god

20:50

now i want to say i have tried launch

20:52

mode on dry roads

20:54

bumpy roads dusty and rocky roads and

20:58

wet roads and i will say

21:00

the car handles amazingly in all of them

21:03

even when you're launching the vehicle

21:05

on dusty and rocky roads you could feel

21:08

some of the traction lose on some of the

21:10

wheels but the car seems to auto correct

21:12

that extremely well the same is actually

21:15

true on wet roads when i launched this

21:17

vehicle on a wet road with no other

21:20

vehicles around i could feel my back

21:22

right tire about three times during the

21:25

launch freeze up and then continue to go

21:28

i believe this is because the electronic

21:30

motors are making about a thousand

21:32

adjustments per second to these tires to

21:34

make sure you're maintaining traction

21:36

it's extremely difficult to spin this

21:38

car and so even in a launch mode while

21:41

it was raining and launching the vehicle

21:44

i felt traction lose about three times

21:46

the car stopped that tire until it

21:48

regained traction and then continued

21:49

driving through a launch i've also taken

21:52

the car to a complete stop turned the

21:54

wheel all the way in and on wet roads

21:57

in the rain

21:58

and stepped on the gas just to see if i

22:00

could fishtail the car and i was not

22:02

able to i would feel that back tire in

22:04

this case much more frequently stop so

22:07

it kind of make this bumpy

22:09

feeling as you were as it was basically

22:11

maintaining traction but i could not get

22:13

the car to spam which in my opinion

22:16

phenomenal in terms of safety now

22:18

something i do like about the screen

22:20

though is it's very responsive so if i

22:22

want to move things on i mean this is

22:24

like an ipad so if you've got the map

22:27

here uh if you you want to see where the

22:29

superchargers are i can click on these i

22:32

could see that six stalls out of 20 are

22:34

available now unfortunately in my model

22:36

x i had a lifetime supercharging for

22:39

free here i'm going to get charged

22:42

because it's a new vehicle and that

22:44

lifetime supercharging does not carry

22:45

over i still have that x though since my

22:47

dad's driving it so technically we still

22:49

have that free supercharging in the

22:50

family but anyway rates are posted

22:53

obviously they give you idle rates and

22:55

peak rates at different times but the

22:57

responsiveness of this very very good

22:59

it's much more enjoyable than a model x

23:01

and the model x even playing games was

23:04

almost impossible because of how slow

23:06

the screen was so over four years

23:08

they've absolutely sped this up very

23:10

very well

23:11

the sync works well and the voice

23:14

activation actually works quickly and

23:17

promptly so let's give it a shot here

23:19

we'll do a live test

23:20

play

23:21

danger zone

23:25

okay we'll do live timing in terms of

23:27

how long it takes it says playing danger

23:30

zone my volume might be low oh no there

23:32

it is

23:34

okay so that gives you a little bit of a

23:37

real example without any speeding up in

23:39

terms of how long it took for that

23:40

direct not bad if i did that on the

23:43

model x it would have taken at least

23:44

five to six times as long if it even

23:47

worked now one thing that i didn't

23:48

notice that was really weird and threw

23:50

me off the first time was if i was

23:53

playing music through the infotainment

23:54

system and then i switched to my phone

23:56

let's say i want to play iris by u2 i

23:59

plus i press play here i can verify that

24:02

we're on tesla model s i could see it's

24:04

playing but it doesn't automatically

24:06

transfer over it doesn't automatically

24:07

start playing it still says kenny

24:10

loggins danger zone here while my time

24:12

is ticking on iris u2 hold me close

24:14

right

24:15

weird so it i feel like it should

24:17

automatically take over it took us quite

24:19

a while to realize that there's actually

24:21

this button right here and if i click

24:24

here

24:26

then it transitions over

24:28

so okay

24:30

little quirk little thing to get used to

24:31

not that big of a deal but otherwise

24:33

much more responsive infotainment

24:35

bluetooth and everything uh in the 2021

24:38

model here compared to the 2017 a lot of

24:41

improvements i will say before we go to

24:43

the back the car in terms of

24:44

self-driving

24:47

this car will change lanes substantially

24:50

faster than any self-driving vehicle

24:52

that i've seen before and i actually

24:53

purposefully set myself driving to a

24:56

distance of five seconds following

24:58

another vehicle and when it comes to

25:00

changing lanes i am a big fan of the

25:04

slow motes i believe that's under

25:06

customize here we go speed based lane

25:09

changes i have it on mild

25:11

because i don't require a confirmation

25:13

for when it changes lanes it kind of can

25:15

just do it

25:16

and even on mild this car will cut

25:19

people off and will change lanes very

25:21

quickly so

25:22

it has done so safely i have not felt

25:25

unsafe in the autopilot yet on this i do

25:26

not have the self driving autopilot yet

25:29

but i will say this is a much zippier

25:32

car let's hit the back i love about the

25:35

back is first of all we have three

25:38

heated seats in the back and you've got

25:40

this really cool monitor in the back

25:42

love it you've also got the temperature

25:44

control we've got it set to 69 right now

25:47

love this you got the music control back

25:49

here boom play that music

25:53

there we go love that gives the driver a

25:56

little bit more peace to where people

25:58

can just do whatever they want back here

26:00

apparently you can even pull up youtube

26:02

which i have not tried to do yet so

26:04

we'll see what happens but there are two

26:06

usbcs right here which i enjoy love the

26:08

heated seats back here i will say though

26:11

if you are back here with

26:13

three individuals

26:14

it gets

26:16

tight uh oh yeah look at that it opens

26:18

up a browser i wouldn't necessarily say

26:20

this isn't this is like an app it feels

26:22

a lot like uh like the actual browser

26:25

let's go ahead and type in meet kevin

26:27

here and just see what happens okay

26:28

let's try omicron first death here we go

26:31

let's let's play that oh we're going to

26:33

get our ad here

26:35

and a loud car we'll wait for the ad to

26:37

go by even now

26:38

now

26:40

that is cool i actually like that so

26:43

people can watch youtube back here

26:44

whether it's adults or children or

26:46

whatever if you need to change the

26:47

volume or switch or whatever look how

26:49

responsive that screen is and just drop

26:51

that down there let's go ahead and hit

26:52

that volume button here and you can

26:54

lower or increase or lower the volume

26:56

back here as well i haven't gotten

26:57

really good at figuring out exactly how

26:59

to do it because it's the volume button

27:01

is not the most responsive but i have

27:04

noticed this this screenplay here

27:07

is very very good why is that so crappy

27:09

hold on a sec

27:10

do you hold it am i doing it wrong

27:15

so i don't think i'm screwing up on the

27:17

volume here but it's not as reactive as

27:20

it should be on the volume here but i

27:21

have to say if i wanted to pop up

27:23

youtube here you do get a little bit of

27:25

this paused loading screen occasionally

27:27

it makes you go back if you do want to

27:28

change the volume a little inconvenient

27:31

because you have to swipe down to change

27:32

the volume unless the driver wants to do

27:34

it and if you have to swipe down and it

27:36

closes your video just to change the

27:37

volume a little inconvenient it'd be

27:39

nice if there was some kind of

27:42

easy way to pull up that menu without

27:45

having to close my video i'd prefer that

27:48

but

27:49

so obviously inflation

27:50

don't like all the rage don't see that

27:53

opportunity just yet of course you could

27:54

oh wait see if i move it a little bit no

27:57

no you see the menu pop up but it

27:59

doesn't stay long enough for you

28:00

actually to do anything of course you

28:02

could just use the youtube volume

28:03

control which that is actually extremely

28:05

responsive this is like an ipad what one

28:08

complaint some folks have had is that

28:10

this button is maybe not as intuitive so

28:12

you want to get out of the car

28:14

if you push it long it works it might

28:17

not give you the biggest open feel here

28:20

you've got you've got a ledge you've got

28:21

to get your foot over here you kind of

28:23

have to like lift your toes in a little

28:25

bit a little tight for what it is some

28:27

folks touch it and don't get it to open

28:30

right away uh if you do a short touch it

28:32

won't open which no problem there you go

28:35

so it's just a matter of getting used to

28:37

that might be something that guests are

28:39

a little more like oh how do i get out

28:40

of this now another safety complaint

28:42

here without actually having physical

28:44

opportunities for you to open the door

28:47

what happens in the event of an

28:48

emergency and you need to get out and

28:50

the power system's malfunctioning you

28:52

have no door handle now you might think

28:54

oh i'll just break the window not as

28:56

easy as you think first of all you've

28:58

got side curtain airbags side curtain

29:00

airbags like a big old cloth balloon now

29:03

in the way so you gotta move that and

29:04

try to break a window that's not the

29:06

easiest to break best option tends to be

29:08

your elbow you're probably gonna break

29:10

your elbow doing it one of the best

29:12

options could potentially be the glass

29:14

above you by just leaning back and

29:16

kicking the glass up above you probably

29:18

the best way since a lot of the sealing

29:20

in the car is glass on the inside and

29:22

then again getting out you're you're

29:23

kind of biffing up the side a little bit

29:25

not that big of a deal mostly because

29:29

i'm the driver i did also notice that if

29:31

you wanted to upgrade these calipers to

29:34

red you'd be paying about ten thousand

29:35

dollars in my opinion not worth it

29:38

but i have to say otherwise the car

29:41

really impressive

29:42

i like it i know i've listed a bunch of

29:44

complaints here is it worth 148 000

29:48

god no buy tesla stock instead now

29:52

people get mad at me when i say that

29:53

because they're like dude how could you

29:55

recommend people buy stock but then not

29:57

buy the car like that would bankrupt the

29:58

company people get to buy the car anyway

30:00

they're not going to listen to me i mean

30:01

if you like if you're watching this

30:02

video there's a chance you want to buy

30:03

the car or you just really like tesla

30:06

and the car company which is fine uh it

30:08

and look as a tesla bull i i tell people

30:11

buy the stock not the car here i am i

30:13

bought it this is butter butter melts

30:15

away this is not an investment but hey

30:18

if this can make me appreciate where

30:20

tesla's going more and i can start

30:22

understanding okay where are we cutting

30:23

from margin or where are we cutting from

30:25

the car to try to improve the company's

30:28

margin like we mentioned

30:29

the back hatch

30:31

the doors self-presenting and

30:33

self-closing some of these things they

30:35

make me just understand a little bit

30:36

more ah okay now i see how they're

30:39

getting away with increasing their

30:41

profits and potentially taking away some

30:44

features are those going to alienate

30:46

customers in the future

30:48

what they've done probably not minor

30:50

nuisances and annoyances sure would they

30:52

prevent me from buying this car like if

30:54

somebody told me those things up front

30:55

would i not buy this car no because it's

30:57

fun as anything that the cheetah mode is

30:59

crazy uh it's it's a fun experience it's

31:02

going to give me an opportunity to get

31:04

into the full self-driving beta sure i

31:06

could have gotten into that though

31:07

getting a model three or why so again is

31:09

this worth it versus like a three or

31:10

five probably not the reason why is i've

31:12

driven the new models phenomenal

31:15

really tight steering

31:17

you really feel like the car is well put

31:19

together at higher speeds

31:21

you didn't feel that you didn't have

31:23

that in 2017 model x's they felt a lot

31:25

shakier and looser in fact i'll say it i

31:28

have taken this car

31:30

the fastest i've ever taken a car uh

31:32

which was previously a record held by a

31:34

mercedes sl an old one from the 90s

31:37

on the autobot in germany totally legal

31:39

that was about 137 miles an hour and i

31:41

had death grip on the steering wheel and

31:42

i felt like the car was like the bolts

31:44

were going to start coming off because

31:45

everything was shaking older car uh this

31:48

vehicle i have taken 140 miles an hour i

31:51

didn't even realize i was going any

31:54

faster than 90. that is

31:56

scary it feels very well put together

31:59

especially at high speeds and that yolk

32:02

delicious at those higher speeds don't

32:04

recommend driving that fast because very

32:05

dangerous but if you're going to do it

32:07

this is definitely a car i would say

32:09

you'd want to be the one to do it in or

32:11

is the car that you'd want to do it in

32:13

anyway if you found this review helpful

32:14

consider sharing the video let me know

32:16

what you think in the comments down

32:17

below and folks we'll see in the next

32:18

one thanks bye
