0:01

hey everyone me Kevin here boy oh boy a

0:03

Bloomberg has a four years been talking

0:06

about how oh Volkswagen is gonna take

0:10

over Tesla is the most dominant EV play

0:13

now look I have my criticisms of some

0:15

things at Tesla but I think any prudent

0:18

long-term investor should you don't want

0:20

to be blindly bullish and you want to

0:22

identify potential pitfalls right and

0:24

this is what we have previously done but

0:26

this video is all about analyzing how

0:29

wonderful Tesla is in the fact that it

0:32

doesn't have the Volkswagen problem

0:35

folks Mr Dees the CEO of Volkswagen was

0:40

just completely blindsided last week on

0:43

Thursday when essentially the families

0:46

in charge of running Volkswagen and the

0:49

union leaders in charge of of running

0:52

Volkswagen got together at a battery

0:54

plant opening uh

0:58

and basically acted like all was good

1:01

with the CEO to his face but then after

1:04

that had their own meeting amongst their

1:07

families and decided the Volkswagen CEO

1:10

is getting the boot and instead they're

1:12

going to install the CEO of Porsche as

1:15

the CEO of both companies especially

1:18

since they ultimately want to IPO

1:20

Porsche as a separate company to help

1:22

them raise capital in an IPO that's

1:25

where you do you raise capital and

1:27

further their EV developments but what

1:30

was the big problem well it turns out

1:32

the big problem had to do with

1:34

disagreements over how their software

1:37

their internal software company was

1:39

going to actually operate and coordinate

1:43

between the various different vehicle

1:45

makes that they had for example there

1:47

were requests that Porsche was making

1:49

that were different from what Volkswagen

1:51

was making and this reminds me of the

1:53

fragmentation days of Microsoft and it's

1:55

one of the reasons I've never invested

1:57

in Microsoft don't get me wrong I think

1:59

Microsoft has a lot of benefit to it

2:01

it's obviously performed extremely well

2:03

so I I don't want to be someone to say

2:05

that's it you know I'm here to poop on

2:06

Microsoft

2:07

but Microsoft has always had a

2:09

fragmentation issue where you'll have

2:11

the Xbox division doing one thing and

2:14

they won't coordinate with the windows

2:16

people and though the windows people

2:17

don't want to coordinate uh like the

2:19

specific Windows teams don't coordinate

2:21

very well with the Microsoft Office

2:23

teams and whatever okay I didn't work at

2:25

Microsoft but I've read many books and

2:27

stories about how Microsoft has

2:29

regularly had this fragmentation issue

2:31

and the fragmentation issue is just

2:33

basically a way of saying hey like we're

2:35

so big we have so many different

2:37

departments we have like departments for

2:39

different departments that it basically

2:41

makes it very difficult for us to have

2:42

one unified strategy for how to move the

2:45

company forward it to me sounds like

2:47

that is exactly the problem that's

2:49

happening at Volkswagen Volkswagen is

2:51

not a software company they're a Legacy

2:54

auto manufacturer they produce like over

2:56

90 different Vehicles it's absolute

2:58

Insanity uh no I mean people want

3:00

different toys for vehicles I get that

3:02

but what this is a signal of for Tesla

3:06

is that Tesla is once again unique

3:08

unique by being a ground up from the

3:10

ground up startup company that is

3:13

focused on technology software autonomy

3:17

and electric vehicles they are a company

3:20

that can continue to innovate where

3:22

everybody else can't even get on the

3:24

same page with what to do that is a big

3:28

key right there that's a big takeaway

3:30

Tesla does not have the fragmentation

3:33

problems of Legacy auto it doesn't have

3:35

the fragmentation problems of even a

3:37

company like Microsoft which is still a

3:38

great company

3:39

but it goes to show the real potential

3:42

of Tesla is still ahead not behind just

3:46

producing Vehicles is not the real

3:48

potential of Tesla it's the software and

3:51

how quickly we can update and adapt

3:54

autonomy like apps the website the sales

3:58

processes honestly I hate to say it but

4:01

it's kind of like

4:03

I kind of like having a little bit more

4:04

of uh of like a dictatorship as opposed

4:07

to an old school oligarchy okay elon's

4:10

kind of like a dictator whereas you got

4:11

the old school oligarchy at the Legacy

4:14

companies at Lakeville this is not how

4:16

we do things our departments we said we

4:18

want this and this department wants this

4:19

and this department funds this and I can

4:21

be angry German because uh well I was

4:23

born in Germany so I can knock that but

4:25

anyway

4:27

Tesla doesn't have that problem and it's

4:29

an advantage for shareholders Apple is

4:32

very

4:32

very Alert in that sense

4:34

and they have such strong leadership

4:36

that they can unify the company in One

4:38

Direction even though they have a ton of

4:41

different teams and departments

4:42

Microsoft hasn't done it as well as

4:44

Apple has but Tesla stands unique here

4:46

and I think that's why Tesla's one of my

4:48

favorite Investments going forward

4:50

especially at the prices where we are

4:52

now even the 800 range to me I don't

4:55

even think about selling Tesla until

4:57

we're

4:58

1500 to 3 000 maybe 1500 uh you know you

5:03

stop adding kind of thing and we get to

5:05

like three thousand four thousand

5:06

something like that obviously we know we

5:08

got to split a comment we have a split

5:09

coming up so we'll have to adjust that

5:11

for those uh for those numbers but but

5:13

beyond that it's not even a

5:14

consideration for me to to trim that

5:15

position I'm still building it I'm about

5:17

3 500 shares away from where I want to

5:19

be at 30 000 shares folks thanks so much

5:33

5:35
