Why Luigi Mangione Killed the United Healthcare CEO.
FULL TRANSCRIPT
hey so I wasn't planning on making a
video today but now that the United
Healthcare CEO shooter has been captured
I thought it would be a good idea to
break down what's in this guy's head and
let me tell you head is exactly what I
think is on his mind as in mental health
that didn't sound right anyway the guy
going through his social media post
really seems to be focused on anxiety
depression and what Corporate America is
doing to America an especially younger
American men and he actually Compares
America today especially what the
corporate orita are doing to Rome and
the collapse of ancient Rome where uh
basically ancient Rome had Elites
running circuses and uh entertainment
venues uh to entertain the masses and
give them more holidays and give them
more social handouts more socialism
essentially while the Elites controlled
that
messaging and because of that lack of
activity amongst Society the
overall fabric of society and military
strength militari strength of Rome
weakened and eventually collapsed the
culture of Rome and then the country the
fall of the empire of Rome and he
Compares this to America uh how
potentially by even retweeting tweets
like uh well posts like Alex heroi
suggesting that Netflix and door Dash
and True Crime shows on TV are basically
the death of America you kind of combine
this with his analogies to Rome and his
comparisons to mental health and you
start getting this this more complete
picture about who this person is this is
a 26-year-old uh apparently named Luigi
I'm going to mess up the last name but
I'm going to go for it Luigi
M sounds like an Italian name apparently
the guy's into fitness okay I let's um I
I don't know what gives that away the
Pokemon or I don't know it looks like
he's got some uh uh uh you know screws
those are four screws here somewhere in
uh frankly what looks like his lower
spine here that doesn't look uh those
are jeez those are big you know those
are like
3in screws there uh here's the full
picture so it seems like this is
somebody who has a lot of uh uh you know
opinions about health uh and then really
just success in society but also
somebody who's potentially had problems
with the healthc care industry you know
somebody who has this in them has
probably had a lot of experience with
health care and uh and anybody who's
really experienced Health Care has had
frustrations with healthc care you might
know I had uh triplets in February on
the second of February and one of them
almost died uh and of course if it
weren't for medicine and doctors today
she would have died summer would no
longer be here but what's remarkable is
as a family you can have a maximum out
of pocket on your insurance which we had
a family maximum out of pocket of
$7,500 but we had another 30 or 40 it
might be up to $50,000 of bills now that
came to us and and these are companies
like sorry your insurance denied this
and this and this anesthesia this you
know care for this that specialist out
of network and we're like what do the
words maximum out of pocket even mean
you know like we're like oh okay yeah
7500 bucks turns into $30 to
$50,000 if we were in the situation
we're in now I mean knock on would thank
thankfully we could pay that we'll be
like what the
hell anyway let's take a look at uh a
little bit of the postings uh here and
and try to understand a little bit more
about this person this is allegedly
their X account which it's possible it's
going to end up getting removed before
uh uh before long but anyway this
account had like a few hundred to few
thousand followers and now it's almost
at 100 thousand so the person's just
going viral on X right now uh they did
get arrested uh there's a there's a
video picture of him somewhere sitting
in the back of a police car but anyway
the person's
arrested it is suspected that this is
the potential killer 26-year-old pen
student or ex pen student and so let's
go through some of the things he talks
about one of the books that he
highlights in sort of his ex history his
post history here is what's our problem
and it's a self-help book for
societies and just a preview about it is
this frustration over
tribalism and how the media really
shapes narratives one of his other
expost which I'm trying to give you a
condensed version of everything that's
going on here compares the titling of
media posts from here's an informative
let's say newspaper title to one that
actually engages in uh people clicking
on it right and the point of news media
is getting people to engage the problem
is our society has turned into almost
just headline driven Society where you
know something positive about Trump
makes those on the right happy and
something negative about Trump makes
those on the left happy and the sort of
segment Society with titles and not the
Nuance of what's actually happening
because usually what I find is titles
are really engaging for one side or
another but then when you kind of go
through the details you kind of see more
similarities than you see differences in
sides usually like I personally think
80% to 90% of Americans can all get
along with one another you know for the
last nine days I've been taking pilot
lessons and if if you want I'll I'll
I'll do a breakdown video of what that's
been like and and the experience and how
much it costs and all that leave a
comment down below more on the pilot
stuff but uh I anybody that I meet in
the world whether it's in piloting or in
finance or in banking or whatever I feel
like I can you know go have a coffee
with
99% of people out there like you know I
don't care where you're from or what
your name is or your culture or whatever
like I feel like we just get along so
and I think that's kind of what what
he's trying to highlight here is this
idea of how social media is causing
really a mental health problem and
what's really interesting is uh there's
actually a mental health program that
United healthc Care has remember the CEO
that was shot was the CEO of United
Healthcare and since then you've had
like LinkedIn postings popping up
everywhere for more executive protection
for CEOs like Amazon CEO and otherwise
everybody's kind of freaking out a
little bit but anyway United Healthcare
offers a mental health program
apparently it's a subscription style
program and uh while I can't say with
certainty Luigi does strike me as
somebody who does a lot of reading on
the internet including potentially on
Reddit uh and if you type into just
quick Google here United
Healthcare uh Reddit uh you actually get
a lot of results for mental health as
well like here's a person who says
United Healthcare has consistently uh
consistently had on their customer
portal recommendations for in network
and zeroc cost Mental Health Providers
like pathway and bright side after using
Brightside for 2 months roughly with no
problems I woke up this morning to an
email that United Healthcare did not
approve my insurance for brid side and
now I have to pay $395 a month to
continue with my mental health care in
addition I now owe bright side roughly
$800 for my previous two treatments
spent over an hour on the phone getting
transferred around blah blah blah blah
blah suggesting these are estimates and
problems and problems and problems and
if you go through there you'll find more
and more comments United Healthcare is
also ruining my health with a similar
flare and I mean look insurance
companies get a lot of complaints but
I'm trying to put together the fabric of
of the motive of this killer and there
is a a very like everything links back
to mental health and look at some of
these things here is United Health uh uh
you know mental health complete Plus
subscription legit good hey does this
seems to be too good to be true blah
blah blah uh and you know then you have
people who repli back and said that hey
you know $60 wouldn't even cover a full
session that it's sort of like intro
baate if you
will this is somewhat to be expected
with insurance companies and it's really
really sad to see but look at some of
these other postings that we have so if
I go in over here look at this I just
finished reading John hates best-selling
new book The anxious generation this is
a post that Luigi reposted and look at
this how the great rewiring of childhood
is causing an epidemic of mental illness
the author argues that major tech
companies are responsible for an
epidemic of Teen Mental Illness see how
this is all tyed together with what I
opened this video with by designing a
fire hose of addictive content that
entered through kids eyes and ears those
these companies have changed human
development on an unimaginable scale the
book Marshall is an abundance of
evidence to show that rates of teen
anxiety and depressions depression began
surging across Western Nations between
2010 and 2015 in the years when Facebook
introduced the like button and Instagram
took over the world and you can sort of
see this sort of inflection point right
here and then chart at least around 201
16 and where you see these reports of
anxiety and depression really
skyrocketing from stable around 10% to
now closer to 20 to 25% it's worth
noting by the way my personal experience
with anxiety is that I've I've I've
quite frankly feel like I've battled
like 15 years of anxiety which puts us
around 2009 which is quite interesting
because I uh you know the App Store came
I had I had an iPhone in 2007 when the
first one came out there was no app
store until 2008 I signed up for Twitter
in 2009 when the App Store was out which
came out in 2008 kind of interesting but
I also sort of aligned that with
potentially alcohol which I haven't had
a sip of alcohol in almost what 3 months
now uh I so I don't know what came first
like the social media or the or alcohol
because you know if you drink alcohol
your anxiety goes away instantly it
feels great but then around the same
time next day you have anxiety again and
so it's sort of like all right back to
the CL I mean the
coffee some people say coffee causes
anxiety but nobody drinks more coffee
than I do nobody knows and uh it doesn't
give me
anxiety anyway uh let's keep going with
this let's let's look at Z because I
want to get to the Ram parts as well
it's important to note that the Advent
of web and flip phones in the late 90s
wasn't accompanied by a corresponding
rise in depression or anxiety but with
the introduction of the smartphone and
social media in the late 2000s the
transformation was immediate this is a
very antisocial media kind of like
posting here in fact I mean look at this
uh Andrew huberman repost uh you know
Luigi reposted smartphones on social
media the impact on mental health and
brain
plasticity uh there's talk about people
with Asbergers and how they're really
good at at you know maybe running
startups uh there's talk about
artificial intelligence there's
complaint there are complaints about how
artificial intelligence could
potentially damage uh Society uh and how
uh you know there's a little bit of talk
here about atheism and
Christianity but what I even found more
interesting was look at this this is an
actual right rather than a repost by
Luigi just so you could see some of his
writing modern Japanese Urban Environ or
the modern Japanese Urban environment is
an evolutionary mismatch for the human
animal okay so in other words he's
basically saying Japan today doesn't
work with humans got it okay that's the
premise let's see what his point here
is the solution to Falling birth dates I
think he means rates isn't immigration
it's cultural encourage natural human
interaction sex physical fitness which
we know he's into physical fitness we
saw the pictures uh inp in fact if you
go through Tik Tok they're like Tik toks
romanticizing you know the shooter
because of just the images people have
seen with his face mask off okay so ban
porn star
uh replace conveyor belt sushi
in restaurant Vending machines with
actual human
interactions replace esport cafes where
young males earn false Fitness
signals uh with Athletics in school okay
so no orts and actual Athletics heavily
stigmatized made cafes where lonely
salary men pay young girls to dress as
anime
characters interesting by the way I will
say when I go on runs I feel way happier
like when I'm actually out in the
environment
my happiness just goes through the roof
Revitalize traditional Japanese culture
uh you know whether it's karate or
whatever else take a look at this uh
this quotes sort of a photo here of uh
Japan being at the brink of being unable
to maintain social
functions uh so kind of interesting no
he this person's getting flamed mind you
now how dare you be so cringe Millions
thirsted for you oh hell no I'm confused
as to why everyone in the comments is
saying he's right wing isn't he just
saying we have to have more human
interactions what like just be careful
with how I I'm purposely trying not to
read like the comments because I just
want to have sort of my own
raw opinion of of this so I'm trying not
to look at the recent stuff that's
posted on him uh what was this if you
want to understand men better just look
at all the movies there uh they've made
books they've written and games they've
invented when they're young this is by
Daughter of wolf
okay anyway uh almost every single one
of the things that young men write or
script is about a young man being thrust
into a position or situation he doesn't
know he can overcome many times he
actually believes he cannot so he
initially refuses the challenge
reluctantly he is forced out of the
comfort of his home by an unlikely group
of future friends or an imposing threat
on his life or the life of the woman
loves in the end he rises above and wins
he conquers he conquers first himself
and then he conquers the threat first of
all by the way like this is very
relatable to me uh I I believe that
people don't actually get happiness from
money uh or things like you I'm not
trying to say like I have all the money
in the world I I don't but we're happy
uh you know money money is is not a
problem have a plane trying to learn how
to fly like it's it's fine I'm trying to
say materially I think we're very very
satisfied but what I found is that
correlates to happiness like negative
it's almost like the more you have the
more problems you have
so what I found creates much more
happiness at least in my own personal
life is uh struggle and success and
that's somewhat similar to what they're
saying I'm not trying to say I got that
idea from them actually if you've been a
part of the channel for a while known
that I've talked about this that you
know people are most unhappy when they
retire you the first period of
retirement is great yay I can do
whatever I want my ti is on the beach
but eventually that gets old you need a
challenge you need a project it's like
my dad he's retired I'm like Dad we need
to this this new dog that is a member of
our family the golden doodle he needs
professional
training but my dad refuses to let go
and let us take the dog we'll pay for it
to get professional training so doesn't
jump on my 9-year-old and six-year-old
and knock them back into a wall and bang
their head you know if it does that to a
baby you could kill a baby right like
the dog is a puppy it needs to be
trained and so it's kind of weird but we
kind of invite him over less because he
comes with a dog who is now a threat to
the children because it's a playful dog
but it's huge it's 80 lbs and we have
five one-year-olds right I guess long
story but my father doesn't want to
train the dog at a third party trainer
because he wants to train the dog my dad
has zero experience training dogs but I
could I I sort of liken this to him
needing a project something to do and
how like how dare we want to take that
away from him okay well logic would have
it that you should but this is the
nature of humans is you must have some
challenge to
conquer men are made for impossible
situations and daring Feats they are
born with a hero's heart this is inate
I've watched it myself and my husband as
he figures out how to provide a
desirable quality of life for his
growing family I love this 69,000 likes
let's go I've watched uh as he's pursued
that more and more aggressively over
time and I'm watching it again but in a
different way with my son and the games
he invents this is the heart that
Society is so trying so hard to quash
and women are the ones who can help
protect it now this is very interesting
because see like these are all like
messages that are almost catered by this
Luigi person to to to make everybody
sort of stop and pause for a moment and
go hm is society truly doing this I
would argue yeah I I actually you know
I'm not here to express an opinion on on
murder I think murder is terrible and
bad and uh
but again this video is not about
whether killing is right or wrong it's
about analyzing Luigi and this is very
very interesting uh the sort of
breadcrumbs see here's that Alex heroi
post that he reposts Netflix door Dash
and True Crime podcast have stolen more
dreams than failure ever will all right
that's sort of like the Harry Potter uh
JK Rowling quote it is better to have
tried and failed than to have never
tried be uh than to have never tried at
all because failure to try is failure by
default yeah I have that one memorized
because it's it's impactful to me like I
I I always say billionaire or bankrupt
and that's like like for example house
hack or Robo hack Robo hack. house
hack.com you can learn more about we got
fundraises closing for those this week I
think there are only a few spots left
for the roboh Haack one because that's
limited to 99 investors house hack is is
limited to um uh I think like few
thousand so the limits much different
but anyway what's really interesting is
that line I haven't memorized because I
I I always joke billionaire or
bankrupt and it's because I really
believe like I I I would rather fail
doing what I believe in than to not
try uh so anyway okay so what else do we
have here
H it'll soon become ubiquitous amongst
upper class families to restrict kids
under 16 from using social media and
he's reposting this he's basically
saying look like I I support this I
support this restriction of social
media I don't like I I know it's weird
for me to say because I'm obviously on
social media but I'm kind of antisocial
media too I I I I somewhat always have
been when I started in my real estate
career when I was 18 years old uh I'm
I'm like I hate this Social Media stuff
uh it just seemed so surficial and you
couldn't actually have like a real
conversation with people it's one of the
reasons I'm not actually the biggest fan
of a although I use it all the time uh
because depth is frequently missing
usually what does well on X or very very
short things and that's why like making
videos on YouTube and and being able to
share more context uh which I think
context makes the world go around
smartphones rewired childhood here's how
to fix it it's very interesting uh
hopefully the trend spreads to All
Families before too long 100 easier 100
times easier to reinforce the rule when
all parents are doing it that's true uh
and then so if you actually look at the
article and you kind of get to where
roughly the pay wall begins look at this
daily average time with friends look at
the plummet in time with friends amongst
15 to 20 year olds uh at minutes per day
right here right when that social media
Revolution started from you know 2 and a
halfish hours per day to less than an
hour per day of time with
friends I remember when I was a kid I'd
have to pick up the the the the phone
and dial my friend's phone number I
still remember some of their phone
numbers by heart and you'd pick up and
go want to play you know cuz you're like
eight all right uh yeah so uh your
commitment what is this uh the battle to
the death with the anti-civilization
woke mine virus my positions are
Centrist secure the Border safe Clean
Cities blah blah blah somebody quote
tweets Elon your commitment to the
long-term
civilization uh or success of
civilization Elon is not usually
universally shared it's not even the
majority position
what you called Mo woke mind virus cares
about one thing equality the levelers
want to destroy everything because in
the rubble we will all be equal in other
words let me try to like distill this I
think Luigi is retweeting this by saying
that the elite uh you know who who are
basically trying to do what Rome did
which is just keep everybody plated and
happy with you know their tribalism or
whatever uh is if you destroy everyone
else the elites get everything I think
that's sort of somewhat the takeaway
here which obviously is interesting
because you know elon's like a third of
a trillionaire so like kind of the elite
but also you know he has positions that
relate to really what a lot of men feel
you know Elon I think is the epitome of
what a lot of men believe in not
necessarily like the political you know
stuff but the common sense stuff here it
is look at this ancient Rome was the
world's most powerful Empire for 500
years at its height Rome boasted of
Roads public bats and much else that was
close to miraculous for the rest of the
planet here's how it came to fail uh and
if you go through this you really see
what I talked about at the beginning of
this uh see the great City set up its
own demise in two ways bread and
circuses uh and basically this this idea
of just give people some food and let
them go be entertained plate them the
ancient Rome ancient Rome became
prosperous as it became prosperous it
became an unsustainable welfare state so
being again anti the sort of woke mind
virus Mumford writes that indiscriminate
uh uh
public okay L isn't this uh isn't this
when basically like public laziness I
don't know what this is L
Gacy generosity oh oh okay okay so
giving away socialism basically let's
just replace that indiscriminate public
socialism became common a large portion
of the population took on the parasitic
role for a whole lifetime in other words
people were recipient of socialism for
their whole lives so like of course the
entire fabric of society was starting to
fall apart handouts from bread to public
storehouses indust you know the desire
to lead an industrious productive life
had severely weakened remember how we
also saw that in the Japanese commentary
just moments ago what did people spend
their time on distractions which meant
circuses uh Rome the Roman people not
working for their livelihood but living
off the prosperity of the city had
become numb to recover the bare
sensation of being alive the Roman
populace high and low Governors and
governed flocked to the great arenas for
games and distractions the entertainment
in Rome included chariot races
spectacular Naval battles set in an
artificial Lake right cuz you could used
to be able to filled a Coliseum with
water uh theatrical whatever
performances in which elude sexual acts
were performed out of 365 days more than
200 were public holidays and 93 were
devoted to games at the public expense
consuming entertainment became the
primary priority of Roman citizens in
Rome's decadent phase you know luxury
phase not to be present at the show was
to be deprived of life liberty and
happiness in other words you need to be
at the show if if you're not enjoying
Leisure a Leisure Life that you're
failing and remember the Arista tilian
thesis of udonia which is you know the
art of the good life basically or to
live a good life udonia was essentially
the good life is the life of balance
where you properly balance nothing to
the extreme whether the deficit or the
extreme uh but rather you have the right
balance of politics friends uh the
healthy balance of you know some alcohol
but not too much but not too little uh I
mean that it's not trying to make an
anti- sobriety argument it's just I mean
you could say that about cocaine like oh
just have a little no no no no it's like
the overarching idea of not too much
exercise to where that's all you do when
it sacrifices other things right because
I think we can all agree that exercise
is healthy no exercise is bad a good
amount of exercise is great but too much
exercise can also be bad not just
physically for you but the time you now
sacrifice for other things and so that
balance is very important to the ancient
Greeks but here in the ancient Roman
culture we basically have Leisure to the
extreme some Leisure is great too little
Leisure is bad because you burn out too
much Leisure breaks you and it breaks
Society ancient Rome could put half of
its population in its circuses and
theaters at the same time a new public
holiday was declared to celebrate every
military Victory but the number of
holidays kept Rising even when Rome's
military power began to fall fail or
fall abundance of idle time to fill with
idiotic occupation uh was what uh the
Empire of Rome had eventually gotten to
and they make this illusion today to the
rise of debt in America and uh the rise
of distractions like The Vision Pro hm
interesting so okay we've reviewed this
we' reviewed this reviewed this what is
this uh we talked briefly about this we
talked about this look at some of his
emojis here computer and reading ninja
emoji working out the ninja Emoji one I
think hits hard cows and
judges equals balance in life mushrooms
oh psychedelics okay uh and then the ape
mind that's interesting because there's
actually a post as well where they talk
about uh like he literally says 92% of
murders are caused by men uh I think
that's what it was it was somewhere in
here uh and they actually compareed to
Apes as well which is interesting that
male chimpanzees are usually the
aggressive Killers if you will so this
is a lot of very very interesting
commentary here but it all comes back to
this idea
of why is everything about this mental
health balance antisocial media anti-
tribalism anti- uh socialism and pro uh
struggle
success uh you know Pro uh if you will
the manliness of of exercise and
Conquest rather than distraction and
Netflix and chill
right so um take a look at this who
believes the media controls people
everyone who believes they are being
controlled no one so you're seeing this
more and more the sort of paradox if you
will the irony uh that hey that
tribalism no that doesn't control us uh
anyway this I I don't think I need to go
much more into detail on some of what
we're finding here in these reposting
that go all the way back to to 22 and
further because over and over and over
again you have this balance bunch of
random tweets here from 200 16 but
really his account became a lot more
active in 2022 it really seems like you
have bread Crums of his political
philosophy and Outlook that have really
been look at this just in the of
recording this he gained 30,000
subscribers it's crazy uh but anyway
these these breadcrumbs have been here
and a lot of them really reiterate a
mental health problem caused by social
media and then potentially how United
Healthcare is screwing people out of
mental health the mental health support
that they actually need if you look at
some of the recent items we have here we
have that uh he was identified at a
McDonald's uh police received the tip
and sure enough there he was he lived in
Maryland uh you know he probably wasn't
a professional assassin he was just a
26-year-old person who was kind of if
you will radicalized some will say
others will say enlightened online and
trying to bring attention to a problem
remember on the shell casings he had
deny uh defend and defer engraved on the
shell casings for the bullets uh so like
not the the bullets themselves I don't
think I actually have one here uh but
the actual casing that sort of gets
spent and lies on the floor those had
that inscribed on them and there's a
book uh that has this title and it's
basically about how the insurance
industry tries to ignore your claims
deny your claims and then defend
lawsuits when denies are claimed and
that's sort of the business of how they
make more
money so clearly it kind of all aligns
uh and really this the killing of the
CEO is used as the Catalyst for bringing
attention to all this anyway Luigi was
found carrying a gun a silencer false
IDs similar to those believed to be used
at the hostiles that he stayed out on
the west side of Manhattan uh the gun
appeared to be a ghost gun assembled
from Parts uh that may have been made
from a 3D
printer uh anyway was found about 280 Mi
uh over from New York to the West no
criminal record cited for potentially
trespassing in in you know uh Hawaii
$100 charge who cares nothing strange
co-workers said he was a nice guy uh in
a co-working space in
Honolulu um shooting over here this is
where he was
found fake Jersey ID there he is the
back of a cop car from the
mask uh so uh yeah there you have it
there's a little bit
about potentially the motive on why
Luigi killed the CEO of United
Healthcare to bring attention
to the collapse of society via uh social
media and mental illness so to him this
is probably a Justified killing to bring
attention to hopefully spark a
revolution in amongst probably in his
view men since that's what we saw here
uh to to wake up to what social media is
doing to them
so huh very interesting anyway if you
like this sort of breakdown let me know
what you think in the comments down
