Clearing Basics Of AMV | AMV Tutorial | After Affects | Phoninx
FULL TRANSCRIPT
if you're diving deep into learning
about mvs without basic information then
the lck of basic knowledge might put you
in
trouble hello how are you I under the
water in this video I will show you some
basic things that many editors like and
how to fix
that this video is not for people who
have no knowledge about envs it is for
people who have a bit of knowledge about
envs though and people who have just
started with it but not for people who
have no knowledge about it a beginner
friendly guide will coming soon and I
swear it is soon this time this is a
basic tutorial but it's more like
clearing Basics than teaching everything
in beginner
level stop using same frame size in
every aor if you're making eror in web
style then keep it to 1 R1 or 96 if
you're making a red and flow style then
keep it to 16 R9 and same goes with the
frame rates if you're making edit like
web style then you want it to be smooth
and for making it smooth you need to
keep it on 30 FPS if you're making edit
in flow style then keep it to 23 because
you don't want it to be smooth if it's
smooth there will be no impact in it
there will be no good shakes it won't
look good so keep it 2 23 where are the
crackers I'm getting them right
now oh man
is a to can make a break yours and I see
many people missing that up here are two
ways how I make Myra first way is for
vibrates and second way is for flates
the reason why that of fibat and flates
are different because in viibes we have
less movement in clips and in flates we
have high movement in Clips get your
clip stud and cut them on every
important Movement by important movement
I mean the movement in the character's
clothes character's hair character's
body movement or anything like that you
have to cut your Clips in every of those
important movement do not cut your Clips
on things like camera movement the
movement of background the movement of
smoke or those effects or anything which
is not important but for example look at
the cloth of this character it moved on
this Frame so I will cut the clip on
this Frame and then I will go to the
next frame where the cloth moves and I
will cut it again keep repeating this on
your whole clip once you're done with it
select all your clip make sure to select
your clip from bottom to top that way
you will have the clips aligned in the
right way if you select it from top to
bottom then it will be reversed and
that's not what you want grab it from
this Edge and pull it back then right
click on your clip key frame assistant
sequence layer press okay and there you
have it precompose it then search for
ttra pro grab it and throw it on your
clip if you have this in fps is out FPS
thing on your texture then keep it turn
on if not then keep the FPS same as your
composition setting FPS now copy my
texture
settings
and then you get this
texture first thing first all the clips
does not have to be textured there are
some clips which become very W when you
txture it because the movement in that
clip is a lot and the txture cannot just
slow it down so keep that in mind not
every clip can be twixted now let's
start with txture I have this C right
here I will use this one to texture and
then firstly I will disable the audio
and I will cut my clip how I
wanted I want my clip till here so I
will cut it here delete the next
one here I have it now I will precompose
it and now I will cut the clip on every
important movement as I talked
earlier so use control right arrow to
move a frame forward control back arrow
to move a frame backward right now I
want to move forward so I will press
control right arrow now you see here's a
movement I will cut it right here then
move a bit here is a movement as you can
see you can see a bit of movement is
happening here just a bit but you know
it's not really the movement of any
character he's not moving at all nor is
see it's just camera moving it just
shake of the camera to make impact in
the anime so you don't have to cut it
here so I will not cut here you see he
moved and he moved so I will cut it
right
here frame forward the camera movement
again I will not cut it here IM moved I
will cut
here the light movement it's not like
you know it's not important so I will
not cut here I will cut here he moved in
move move few frames forward this thing
I don't think it's much
important they moved so I will cut it
again C camera move it again I will not
cut on camera movement
okay I will cut it
now
now here's camera movement again but I
will not C it here because he and he
they both are not moving at all
it's just the camera moving so I will
not cut
here now that I have this thing I will
left click here hold shift and then left
click here and I will grab it and put it
back now I will right click here and key
frame assistant sequence layer okay now
we have this
thing in this clip every single frame is
moving there is not a single frame that
that is still every single frame is in
movement and that is exactly what you
want for your texture to be smooth now I
will grab all of these things contr a to
select
everything and precompose it
again now I will add texture
pro texure pro and then if you if you
have this version of texure you will
have this thing in fps Is AO FPS so if
you have this one then check it if you
don't have this one then you have to
keep your FPS same as your composition
in in my case I have
um this FPS 23 FPS and I will keep it
23 you see
and I will change Waring to inverse with
smart
blend now see every clip is not same you
know every clip has um different all
style different speed different
lightning different environment
different contrast so you might have to
adjust a bit you might have to sometimes
adjust from this Contra contrast Ed as
to this one or maybe from this to
inverse or maybe forward like it depends
on the clip so you will have to adjust
it by yourself like just keep
experimenting and slowly but surely you
will get an understanding of
it now I will go to main V layer
settings and increase this 100 I will
precompose it again you know what I
don't really want this part so I will
just cut
it
now I have this part and I will just add
timer map control
RT and you know like just go to the
graph and go to last frame and grab this
thing and pull it down just a bit right
now I will make
graph I'm taking that you know about
graphs because if you're watching it now
after reading disclaimer then I think
you know a bit about editing and after
effects when you making txture forlow
you need to keep in mind that you
texture does not have to be perfect if
it if it has little wops it's okay
because when you add effects and Shakes
and all thing the Ws will be hidden they
will be like not even noticed you don't
have to think a lot about it what is
that what the dog
doing don't make your keep having
movement on your Clips this is an
example of stied this is an example of
non stied now I will show you how to not
make your edit strip firstly I will add
n
objects and I will add two of them above
every single clip of
mine and now I will just duplicate
them right now if I just go to this null
and then scale it up
nothing will happen but if I left click
and hold on this whole thing of the clip
and I link it to the N above it and now
if I make some changes your clip will
move as well so if I grab this thing and
then put it on this one so if I change
this this one will change as well if I
grab this thing and put it on maybe this
one if I change
this this will change
again
right now when I grab this and Link it
to null two then if I moveed the null
two it will move as well now I will grab
this null and Link it to the null above
it now if I make movement on this null
then this null and this clip they both
will move because this null is connected
to this clip and this null is connected
to This n I hope you understand if you
don't understand it's no problem just
try to replicate what I did and you will
get understanding of it now that we are
done with nulls I will start making
transitions I will select this null
press s on my keyboard to bring up scale
make a key frame on the first frame and
then go to the almost end of it and make
another key frame here now I go the
first key frame and set it I want it I
want it to be zoom in effect so I will
just zoom in in the starting may be
about this much and then I will make gra
I will make gra and do not make your
graph something like this if you make it
like this then it's okay it's fine but
you should make a graph like this only
when you have key frames covering almost
your whole clip these key frames are
covering almost my whole clip so if I
make graph like this it will be okay but
if you have Clips if you have key frames
like this this much and if you make this
crop then it will be like you know very
stiff actually you can see it's very
stiff after this point it's just not
moving it's completely still so you
should not make that
graph
instead make a graph like
this in this graph the movement will not
stop until here the movement will keep
going on and on until here so this graph
is good for you know movement and all so
I will use this graph I now that we're
done with this N I will go to this L and
I will press s for scale again and I
will make a key frame here and then
maybe it last
again here and here okay and now I will
easy them and make a graph a sharp graph
actually usually I make things like this
because if you're adding a zoom out
effect then you have to make your graph
quick because if you don't then the tile
will be shown and the tile that are
visible does not look good trust me on
this they don't look good not even a
bit now you see our whole clip is not
stopping a second not a frame it is
still and if you find it still like for
example if I find like it is still here
so I will go to this Frame and pull it
back a bit or maybe just C after this I
will just do
this now you see it has movement all
along this is the thing that makes your
edit look very smooth and
good now secondly I will do the same
thing again I will go to the clip and
then press this thing and Link it the
null above it and then I will go to null
press this thing and Link it to the null
above
it now I make Str shells again press s
for scale keep a key frame here and then
another one maybe
here this and then I will make a what
yeah zoom out
effect now you see these styes they
don't look good not even a bit I'll will
show you how to fix them
first we do this and
uh make a grath like
this now as you can see the tiles are
very very visible and they don't look
good as I said so to fix that I will
just go to the clip and then press s and
then scale it if I do this then the if I
do this then the dial will be
gone it's visible here but if you
increase the motion blur or if you add
rsmb it will be gone again but if you
don't want to you know like add that
thing and if you want it to Disappear
Completely then you can just zoom in bit
more like
this now it looks pretty much good if
you think that um the zoom in effect is
not enough so you can just go in this
thing and zoom it from here a bit and
then make a
graph now the zoom in effect is much
more but I pretty much like the previous
version so I will just C it like
that Yep this look good and then I will
do the same thing that I did here I'll
press s for
scale go to last frame and
then dou like this you can see at the
end of my clip there are tiles so to fix
them I will just go like this and I will
press F9 and make a sharp
crow
like
this you see this is my last frame and
at the last frame the tiles are not
visible that is good enough they don't
have to be visible the transition in
this looks pretty much incomplete but
when we complete this part part it will
look good I will do this again click on
the clip hold this and then select it to
n above it then click on the null hold
this and then select the null above
it press s again and then repeat the
same thing now for this clip I want it
to be zoom out from here but zoom in a
bit at this point when he takes his
sword out I want to zoom it at this
point so for that I will will tell you
how to do that right now I will keep key
frame from to till here maybe yeah and
now I will add
Zoom there you
go if you think that it is very stiff at
this point you can
like make graph even
more like this this will make sure that
it does not
stop but for me graph something like
this is
perfect like it's not very fast lar
motion nor is it very slow or
stiff now as for this part I want it to
be zoom in when he takes his sword out
so I will click on this n press s for
scale make a key
frame here make a key frame before he
takes his sword out and make a key frame
after he takes his sword out and then I
will make a key frame again and zoom
in this much is good now I will go to
the point where he takes his sword out
this is the point I will grab both of
these clips F9 graph editor and then I
will select speed C I will make it
something
like
this it's not looking very good so I
will
just do it like this so it looks very
smooth like when I do this it will have
enough time to make up the
effect it will look smooth when I do
this you see now it's very good now it
looks very
smooth maybe I wanted to be be fast just
a
bit and now I will add another n for
zoom out effect that I will select this
null link
it then press s make zoom
out pretty much like this
now this looks good enough but if you
want it to be even better you can go to
this animation preset presets and
behavior V skill position now firstly
add a adjustment layer cut it to the
size of your
Clips or maybe just don't cut it just
keep it like
this put it above your clip make sure
this should be put above your clip not
above your nulls put it above your Clips
at vle position on adjustment layer now
in this thing like I will show you what
these actually do I delete this for now
and I increased vle speed first you
should know what vles
do so this effects give a bit of
movement on your clip as you can see the
clip is moving moving like this if I
disable the
effect the clip is not moving at all but
if I enable the effect the clip is
moving now the vle speed is how much
they move like if I increase the speed
they will move pretty quick it's like
Jeter or earthquake and now if I
decrease it to
1.5 the biggest amount is the radius of
the shet okay if I increase it it will
move a lot you can see it's moving a lot
I usually keep it to
45 this looks good enough now I will
restart or the now you see this thing
makes a lot of difference right now the
clip looks very stiff and boring if you
may see if we enable the effect the clip
looks much
better if you want you can play with the
settings if you want to increase the
radius the amount you can more make it
more or if you want to make it like slow
it will make it move slow you can make
it even 1
or5 one looks much good yeah now I will
just
duplicate move it here but instead of
moving it here like this you can just
make it something like this and then do
this thing and then C it from
here this way the pace of movement will
be different the movement here will be
different and the movement here will be
different so it w look very repetitive
I will do this thing
again and if you want you can also
change your speed and amount according
to your e
clipse right now I think that the
movement of this clip is allot like the
amount is allow so I will just decrease
the amount of
bit now looks
good if you want you can just um
precompose it all and then add rsmv on
your clip so it looks even
smooth don't mind my you can see there
is a bit
of there is a bit of dial here so I will
just go in and
then zoom in a bit even
more now it won't be here
anymore looks much much
better and FL R it is very much same as
well you just have to add the zoom in
effect and zoom out effect on just your
Clips I will go here make a zoom in
effect
maybe I love to make graph with plugins
because if you make it normally it will
take a lot of time and lot of effort so
you just have to use this plugin instead
it's called flow if you are
wondering and now for movement you will
have to add um adjustment layer cut it
to the size of your clip if you want it
go to this thing and uh add um this
position wiggle
again and now you have to keep your
speed a bit more and your amount a bit
less I mean for flow edits that is what
I use because it will give you the git
effect all right now it's not much let
me
it
keep it to five
maybe yep it looks
good like you see the slow movement on
this clip the the bit of movement it
actually looks
good like see this looks very Bland and
very
plain but this this looks a bit
better there are three ways how I make
my shakes twitch is shake and dissolve
Shake twitch Shake is like the fast
shake or the hard shake as many people
say for making T Shake firstly add
adjustment layer then I will add
twitch and then firstly enable uh
slide this way you will make sure that
you see your Twitch because if you
disable it your T won't be visible now
decrease amount to maybe
uh this much yeah then add a key frame
go few frames forward three frames maybe
and then make it to
zero and increase your speed
to this much I
guess yeah so easy just that's all
that's literally all you just have to do
this and you C your shake now I will
show you how to make different shakes
first duplicate
this then add it on your different clip
and then go to operator controls slide
and tweak with these settings may we
increase the slide amount uh increase
Twitches if you want if you want to
splited RGB then you can use this thing
wait let me show you yeah if you do this
the rjb will be split a bit you will
see like the this you see this thing if
you don't want it you can just keep it
to
zero and uh what else yeah and if you
want to like change direction you can
just rotate this like changing direction
will mostly change your whole pitch it
would look very different so just change
direction it's very easy just change
direction and that's
all and then you can maybe change the
speed decrease or increase it maybe
amount just a
bit and you've got a different twitch if
you want to add light then you can add
light as well if I increase the light
Twitches then it will add like something
like exposure effect for S Shake add an
adjustment layer and then add s Shake in
it make your amplitude six and speed
maybe
12 then make a key frame on your
Ure another key frame something like
here and then make it
zero if you have this and this looks bad
I know but if you make graph it will
look much better I will make graph
something like this and this
maybe and there you have a simple shake
you can adjust it however you like if
you guys don't already the amplitude of
a shake means the area your shake will
cover or the length of your shake and
the frequency of your shake means the
speed of your shake this shake looks
good enough but now I will show you how
to make different shake from one single
Shake we have these three things X shake
y Shake Z shake and even tilt Shake X
shake is the shake of x-axis y Shake is
the shake of y axis and Z Shake is the
shake of z-axis zxx is basically like um
the zoom in zoom out thing if I go to X
shake and increase this then the shake
will move Alert in the x-axis this is
x-axis if I play Shake
now you see it's moving Alert in x-axis
if I make it like it was before and I
change y- axis it will move AER in
y-axis you see it's moving Al by axis
now if I
change Z shake it will move in Z Shake Z
Shake is like zoom in zoom out thing
like it looks like zoom in zoom out Z
Shake is most visible when X shake and Y
Shake are low if I do if I make this low
and if I make y low as well and I
increase Z Shake then it will be more
effective do you see it
now if I increase tilt amplitude it will
move like this
now that's all that you need to know
about shakes right now I've made almost
almost four types of Shake while
explaining you just mess with these
settings for example if I make y Shake
zero till Shake zero and then just
increase X
exis maybe a bit
more
now now you see it's moving in xais that
is all percentage is like opacity of
your shake so increase this but do not
exceed 30 because if you go above 30
your clip will start to disappear so
keep it below 30 like I will give it
25 and then I will uh go to amplitude
make a key frame and then I will
increase the amplitude maybe
like8 or something yeah and then I will
go something like here I will make
amplitude zero the amplitude here is
eight and the amplitude here is zero
just play with the settings and you will
know how it works and it has same thing
as the S Shake X shake y shake and Z
shake they are the same thing so I will
not explain it
again as for sound effects just don't
make them too loud or don't repeat the
same sound effect again and again or
like same voh or any kind of sound
effect don't use it again and again
don't make it too loud or too low try to
blend it with your
[Music]
music for color correction don't make
your CC too bright or too dark and
please please don't make the sharpness
like
this and this is it for the tutorial as
always thanks for watching and see you
