Hello. Now we're going into

0:07

subbing and creating material for DHH.

0:10

So, as you can see, we are under the

0:13

DHH/audio

0:15

team drive. And this is within your

0:17

shared drives. So, I want you to see

0:20

some of the stuff in here. It's a little

0:22

bit less than the aiologist, but that's

0:26

because I tried organizing it as best as

0:29

possible. And just a reminder, if you're

0:31

unsure where things are, I made this

0:34

file, Where's Everything? And you'll be

0:37

able to click on these hyperlinks and

0:39

they will take you to the file. So, it

0:41

makes life so much easy. But let's start

0:44

with DHH materials because I want to

0:47

concentrate on what things you will be

0:49

making for the DHH.

0:52

So, as you can see, there's a couple of

0:54

things, but I want to point you in the

0:56

direction of PAR projects. I made this

0:59

as a way for a lot of DHH members to be

1:02

able to send you different things and

1:04

also they could look at other people's

1:06

projects to be inspired if they want it

1:09

or um if they are out in another school

1:13

and they needed to immediately um have

1:17

some slides or something it could be

1:18

within here so they could easily access

1:21

it. So, for example, this DHH teacher,

1:24

Kristen Henslick,

1:26

um she is someone who has given me a lot

1:29

of projects. So, I'm going to use her as

1:31

an example. And in hers, I made sure to

1:33

put finished and giving projects. So, if

1:36

she wanted to give me a project and give

1:38

examples, she could put it in here. I

1:41

save my projects and what is finished

1:43

into this. So, as you can see, these are

1:47

the things that I have created for her

1:49

as an example.

1:51

here are student services. These kind of

1:54

documents,

1:55

um,

1:57

vocabulary.

1:59

So, these are a lot of stuff that I

2:02

saved under there for them and other

2:05

teachers are able to access so that they

2:08

can have um

2:12

the ability to look over and see if the

2:16

material someone else is using could

2:18

work really well for them and their

2:20

students. And so, going back a little

2:22

bit,

2:25

let's see, let's go back to DHH

2:27

materials. There's a lot of other

2:29

different things. Um, teacher pay

2:31

teachers is a great source to be able to

2:34

find different documents on things. It

2:36

has idioms, worksheets. Uh, so if a lot

2:40

of DHH teachers are asking you for uh

2:44

like idiom stuff, you could find it or,

2:46

you know, that could be a great way for

2:48

you to look over and create your own

2:50

things for inspiration. although they'll

2:53

let you know what they're trying to

2:56

focus in on and what they need you to

2:58

make, but this is a great place to be

3:00

able to kind of find inspiration.

3:03

Um,

3:05

another thing is this is the DHH

3:08

library. It's under a lot of

3:10

construction. I've been trying to work

3:12

at it, but sadly I haven't been able to

3:14

finish it. So just see that this is um

3:19

not as updated but kind of updated to

3:22

what the inventory is. The other thing

3:25

that I want to show is the ASL

3:28

and this is important. Uh the

3:31

interpreter Donna Knight who is

3:33

absolutely wonderful. She has made um

3:37

sign language games and made videos and

3:40

they are absolutely wonderful. So, if

3:43

you need um ASL stuff, of course, go to

3:46

her because she will know ASL things,

3:49

but also there's material within here

3:52

that she has made that can help you with

3:56

your um

3:59

projects that they might give to you.

4:01

And the only other thing that I really

4:03

want to let you know about subbing is

4:06

they'll just come over to you and ask

4:09

you what day, what time uh you could be

4:11

available for a student and what um

4:15

school they're in. It's pretty easy and

4:18

uh very forward. When they give you

4:20

material, I highly recommend that you

4:23

make sure within the material, you have

4:25

a way to kind of record what you and the

4:28

student have been able to do. And if

4:31

there were any struggles or if there

4:34

were any things that the teacher would

4:36

need to know, whether it's comments that

4:39

the students have made or if the student

4:42

is struggling in certain areas, that

4:45

would be very important.

4:47

But those are all things that you would

4:49

easily be able to learn when you're out

4:51

there and doing it. But just to give you

4:54

a reference that when subbing, it's not

4:59

too difficult. Just make sure to look

5:00

over your schedule and see what time

5:03

you're available. Another great thing

5:05

you could do just as a recommendation

5:08

because a lot of DHH teachers like to

5:12

use their Outlook calendars is you can

5:14

connect your calendar with theirs and

5:17

just show when uh you're subbing for

5:20

someone because if someone else might

5:22

come in and say, "Ooh, could you sub at

5:25

this time?" and it's conflicting with

5:27

another time that you said that you

5:28

would sub for someone else. they could

5:31

see that or you could just show it to

5:32

them and they would they would

5:34

understand.

5:36

But it's a great way for you guys to be

5:38

able to communicate. So this is all that

5:41

you really need to see and know. Oh, and

5:44

just so you know, I am someone that has

5:47

kind of been flexible when it came to

5:50

materials. So, I would use either Canva,

5:53

I would use Google Slides, Google

5:56

Sheets, whatever you decide to make.

6:00

Just you do your own way. I'm going to

6:02

save material for you to be able to look

6:04

through, but just thought I'd let you

6:07

know that there are so many different

6:09

things that I have used. There is not

6:11

one wrong way. Just do what's best for

6:13

you and get feedback from them.
