0:00

hey everyone me Kevin here in this video

0:01

I'm going to talk about how much I lost

0:03

and how much I did it first though I

0:06

have to thank all of those of you who

0:08

signed up for a day to shadow me I'm

0:10

totally flattered as we go look for real

0:12

estate by flying with the private jet to

0:14

a destination so we can meet real estate

0:17

agents chat about startups and YouTube

0:20

or social media real estate investing

0:22

whatever you want it's going to be a

0:24

wonderful day for you to Shadow me and

0:27

it's so exciting if you want to learn

0:28

more about that it's linked down below

0:30

right next to the links for the courses

0:32

keep in mind you can actually use the

0:33

coupon code that's expiring tomorrow for

0:35

that as well I think we underpriced

0:38

these uh you know this this sort of

0:41

shadowing uh and after the coupon

0:44

expires tomorrow we're gonna bump the

0:46

price a lot on these shadow days so

0:49

we'll be booking these out just so you

0:51

know starting probably uh Jan 15 and

0:54

then we'll go into January February

0:56

March April right we'll give you plenty

0:58

of notice and it'll be a great

0:59

opportunity for you to Shadow me for a

1:01

day so it'll be super fun really honored

1:03

all of those of you who are signing up

1:04

for it by the way do keep in mind you

1:07

can use that coupon code holidays which

1:08

is the same ones for the programs on

1:10

building your wealth expiring tomorrow

1:11

uh for that day of shadowing me uh and

1:13

again we we will be raising the price on

1:16

those Shadow days because uh way more

1:18

people signed up than we thought which

1:19

I'm honored by but I also want to honor

1:21

the expiring day which is tomorrow okay

1:24

so now we got to talk about how much I

1:26

lost and how

1:28

so in January of last year I felt

1:33

miserable right after I sold my stocks I

1:36

went skiing and I remember just looking

1:39

at stocks and I'm like man was it the

1:41

right decision to sell my stocks and I'm

1:45

skiing and I'm realizing I can't get

1:47

down the ski slopes I had gained way too

1:50

much covid weight uh in fact I uh well

1:54

let's just say I gained over 45 pounds

1:57

and it was uh way too much covered

2:01

weight in fact this is the before photo

2:04

and in just a moment I'll show you the

2:06

after photo to where when I was skiing

2:08

and going down normal slopes like Blues

2:11

double Blues single blacks I I couldn't

2:14

do it I couldn't bend my knees on the

2:16

double black uh sorry not the double

2:18

black I don't go double blacks I

2:20

couldn't bend my knees to get down the

2:21

the single black so I'd fall down them

2:24

uh on the blues I had to stop three or

2:27

four times I felt really bad about

2:29

myself I couldn't I wasn't running but

2:32

when I tried to go run I was running

2:33

like 11 minute miles on five minutes or

2:36

five miles and I'm just like this is

2:38

embarrassing like I can't move I feel

2:40

exhausted winded going up the stairs at

2:43

my home two-story home I can't get down

2:46

to ski slopes like this is ridiculous I

2:48

I need to fix this so from January of

2:52

last year to now I've kind of done my

2:55

best to lose as much weight as possible

2:58

and uh I've gone a little bit too far in

3:01

the other direction of the pendulum to

3:03

where I think I'm I wait too little

3:05

right now which is fine it's part of my

3:07

goal uh and I'm gonna talk about that

3:09

but I want to reveal how much I lost and

3:11

how I did it in this video so I lost uh

3:15

that 45 pounds I was just over 180

3:19

pounds uh and now I weigh about 139 and

3:23

a half which is like crazy here's the

3:26

after photo of mostly just cardio and

3:30

diet it's it's way too low I probably

3:33

need to weigh somewhere around 150 160.

3:36

uh after hitting the gym which is my

3:39

plan for 2023 and uh what I do want to

3:43

say though is I wanna I wanna share how

3:46

how I lost weight uh and uh in sort of

3:49

my beliefs surround fitness and health

3:52

because I think that's a an important

3:54

thing going into

3:56

2023 a lot of folks might might you know

4:00

take some inspiration hopefully or or

4:02

some ideas here so uh my basic rule of

4:05

thumb was uh very similar to what I do

4:08

now which is uh obviously uh you gotta

4:12

exercise right losing weight is a very

4:15

simple factor of calories in calories

4:19

out

4:20

genetics maybe make a five to ten

4:22

percent difference according to research

4:24

I was doing with Harvard but there's

4:27

very little evidence that says you can't

4:29

lose weight solely because of your

4:31

genetics again maybe it's five or ten

4:33

percent harder but most of weight loss

4:35

comes down to actually exercising and

4:39

and simply eating less what I did notice

4:41

is the more I exercised the hungrier I

4:44

was so sometimes if if I went through

4:46

sort of

4:47

periods of time where I'm like okay I I

4:50

don't have time to exercise I was

4:51

actually not very hungry and it was

4:54

easier to have a caloric deficit right

4:56

generally if you have a 2 000 calorie a

4:58

day diet and you eat 500 calories less

5:01

than in in seven days you'd lose about

5:03

35 100 calories or you'd have a deficit

5:06

of that which is nearly a pound right

5:08

about 3 600 calories

5:10

uh however I I don't like under eating I

5:12

like eating a lot uh I'm really a big

5:15

fan of eating very very healthy foods

5:17

and so what I found my my core diet uh

5:21

has and this has almost always been my

5:23

diet uh but like the vast bulk of what I

5:26

would eat throughout the day uh would be

5:29

cereal in the morning and then the bulk

5:31

of the rest of the day fruit and nuts I

5:34

know that sounds crazy to some folks I

5:36

would certainly have a meal uh maybe

5:38

once every two or three days uh Lauren

5:41

would we would have like a salmon meal

5:42

or we'd go to a restaurant or whatever

5:44

and so I'd get some variety but I feel

5:47

like I just lived off of fruit and nuts

5:50

and I'm actually I feel great like I I

5:54

feel so energetic I run really fast now

5:56

in my opinion I'm not super fast but I

5:58

can finally break eight minutes a mile

6:00

again on you know five miles which is

6:02

great I don't feel exhausted at all I

6:05

feel like super light I feel like I

6:06

gotta float around and it's awesome but

6:08

I'm a big fan of fruit and nut nuts

6:10

along with obviously a healthier meals

6:12

Mediterranean diet style but if you look

6:14

at the Mediterranean diet pyramid the

6:16

bulk of it is whole grains you know

6:18

whole wheat bread not not the junky

6:20

kinds of whole wheat uh which are roots

6:22

are like 10 blends of whole wheat real

6:25

good whole wheat uh cereal whole wheat

6:28

breads a lot of fruit and nuts big part

6:31

of the Mediterranean diet food pyramid

6:33

and then less so like fish and chicken

6:36

and then even less so obviously candy

6:39

chocolates uh alcohol you got to keep

6:41

that moderated because you could just

6:42

drink yourself to weight gain it's it's

6:44

that's very bad uh and what I found is a

6:49

lot of people thought that was crazy

6:50

because they'd say things like oh but

6:52

but nuts are so high in fat well nuts

6:55

are actually really high in good fats

6:57

especially if you get dry roasted nuts

6:59

they're extremely uh high fat in

7:02

polyunsaturated monounsaturated fats

7:04

which are extremely healthy for you in

7:06

fact you want to have more of those fats

7:09

in your diet because they fill you up

7:10

right they make you feel full and

7:12

they're extremely healthy unsaturated

7:14

fats with the exception of trans fats

7:16

which are also unsaturated but those are

7:18

more in like fried Goods uh unsaturated

7:21

fats really really incredibly healthy a

7:23

core of the Mediterranean diet olive

7:26

oils right have that on on a sandwich

7:28

instead of butter these things were

7:29

great and I just ate as I ate until I

7:32

was full I I never felt like I was

7:34

hungry because I was just eating as many

7:36

nuts as I wanted I'm a big fan of nuts I

7:39

love salty nuts especially and

7:43

fruit I would go on runs and then I'd

7:46

sit there and I'd eat a whole melon a

7:47

whole cantaloupe a whole uh you know

7:49

honeydew melon watermelon the and some

7:52

people like Kevin that's crazy there's

7:54

there's so much sugar

7:55

but when you actually do research on the

7:57

sugar that's in Fruit these are uh these

8:01

they are you know fructose is a simple

8:03

sugar but it's uh it's brought to you in

8:07

sort of a package that is so heavily

8:09

filled with water and fibers that you're

8:13

not getting this sort of insulin uh a

8:16

spike that you would ordinarily get if

8:18

you just had like a chocolate bar and so

8:21

you I never feel sort of like a crash

8:24

after fruit if anything I just feel more

8:26

energized and so uh the fruit that you

8:29

get in its natural form and the vitamins

8:31

and minerals that you get from things in

8:32

their natural form whether it's fruit or

8:35

or nuts or or beans or lentils or

8:37

whatever or chicken or salmon it's so

8:39

good uh like I feel 2022 was a very

8:43

stressful year for me in many regards

8:45

but in terms of like losing weight and

8:47

like physical health I I feel so much

8:50

better now than I did last year

8:52

uh so that was really probably my

8:55

biggest secret is uh I just I would run

8:59

uh you know I tried to run every day

9:01

although I wasn't the best of that uh so

9:03

maybe on average I only ran maybe three

9:05

times a week if I average it out over

9:07

the year I try to run more but again the

9:10

more I ran the more hungry I was but I

9:12

just filled that up with with uh nuts

9:14

and and fruit I'm very very healthy

9:17

natural food and and I never let myself

9:19

get to the point of feeling like I was

9:22

hungry yeah there were sometimes I would

9:24

feel a little hungry uh but that was

9:27

because I was kind of I purposely tried

9:29

delaying sometimes my breakfast in the

9:30

morning because I noticed that if I had

9:32

my breakfast too early I started to get

9:34

tired uh earlier and that's because my

9:37

breakfast always consisted of too big of

9:39

a bowl of cereal and so I would overeat

9:42

and then if you overeat you feel tired

9:44

uh in this case it wasn't the type of

9:46

food it was it was just that it was

9:48

overeating and I always like adding

9:49

flaxseed to my cereal as well but uh if

9:52

I'd delayed eating up until right before

9:55

my run have a banana or an apple right

9:57

before my run you know get a little bit

9:59

of energy right before the Run uh then

10:01

then I could eat afterwards and I always

10:03

thought that was uh that worked out well

10:05

so that was sort of if I ever felt

10:07

hungry you'd be somewhere around maybe

10:08

11 or 12 right before I try to run in

10:10

the middle of the day mostly because I

10:11

enjoy running in the Sun so some people

10:13

are like oh Kevin uh you know are you

10:16

spray tanning and it's like no I'm just

10:18

running in the Sun every day

10:21

uh and and so I really enjoy that I'm a

10:22

big fan of that I also am a big believer

10:24

that and I don't know this with

10:26

certainty you know I'm not a doctor or

10:27

whatever but I believe that if you have

10:30

some color to your skin it's a lot

10:32

harder to burn and burns are really bad

10:34

right burns are cancerous burns are bad

10:37

uh and so you want to try to if you're

10:39

going to be out in the sun you want to

10:40

do everything you can to avoid burning

10:42

uh so now my goal for 2023 and I haven't

10:46

really started I went to the gym like

10:48

maybe one day I have a gym uh but uh my

10:51

goal for 2023 is actually to on a daily

10:53

basis uh work out and go to the gym so

10:56

uh we'll see how how things can

10:58

transform in 2023 uh but uh yeah I'm

11:01

pretty happy right now I I know I've

11:04

gone too far to one side but I also

11:06

think that what's really cool is if if

11:09

you lose too much weight obviously it's

11:11

really easy to gain weight that's

11:12

generally an easy thing to do uh but uh

11:15

it's easier than to see growth as you're

11:19

at the gym and sort of muscle definition

11:21

and such so so we'll see what what I can

11:24

achieve for next year but uh yeah I'm

11:26

excited I'm very very happy check out

11:29

those programs linked Down Below in the

11:31

shadow cabin for 2023 uh flight days

11:34

those will be really cool look forward

11:35

to seeing you there uh we'll learn a lot

11:37

about real estate and otherwise and uh

11:39

we'll see you soon thanks so much for

11:41

watching this and happy
