i JUST bought a tesla cybertruck... but
FULL TRANSCRIPT
oh man the day has come my friends the
day has come your boy meet Kevin as
finally finally purchased the Cyber
truck take a look at this it is complete
well at least the app says it's complete
because dang it I have some second
thoughts and and I don't I don't know
look at this it's complete no trade in
I'm going to complet I'm going to keep
my Model S I've got a WP coming for the
model S I think it's going to look
amazing pay with cash complete schedule
delivery appointment still great out but
that's Insurance complete amount due
zero it's already paid it's bought and
paid
for but I have to say I I'm I'm having a
bit of a struggle and there are two
reasons I'm having a bit of a struggle
uh number one was sort of reiterated
by what Jerry rig everything just talked
about when he said three things I hate
about my cybertruck after 13,000 miles
and he didn't mention one of the other
problems that I have with the Cyber
truck which is not the Cyber truck's
fault it's not really Tesla's fault at
all but I'll start with the second
reason first and then I'll go into the
Jerry rig everything
reason I
have a Tesla Model X that I bought in
200 17 loved it uh my dad rides my black
X now it is the seven seat version and
I'll tell you when you use the seven
seed versions you put those back you
know back couple up and you got the
bench in the middle seven you can't fit
anything in the trunk you're not fitting
a troll a stroller in there you can't do
anything and I have a lot of children
you might not know this but I have seven
kids and that that's no shame on you in
case you don't know that's okay I I'll
get to share that experience with you
here is just a really quick sort of
picture from the last couple days but
this is them all eating or getting ready
to eat at lunch that's summer on the
left she's alive she's actually coming
off that feeding tube uh today for the
first day which is uh for all day which
is really exciting our identical twin is
two over to the right anyway so I got a
lot of kids and the the model X even
with two kids is not functional like Mom
Dad two kids if you want passengers in
that third row it's just not functional
because you don't have room anymore for
a or bags or like I don't know uh you
know a cooler of beer or drinks or
whatever I don't drink anymore but that
was just sort of a long ago
thing the Cyber truck kind of solves
that because you have a big bed but you
still only have five seats in the front
and so I'm looking at this going okay
well Mom Dad two kids well I have the
model S you know that works for that if
we want to take the babies obviously
there's no way that ever going to fit
but the Cyber truck is pretty cool I'm
just trying to figure out like what do I
actually need it for I'm not going to be
Towing stuff I don't really need a truck
bed it's just it's just kind of badass
okay like I i' I've loved the Cyber
truck since they've announced it uh I I
I want one I want to wrap it uh you know
I want to like upfit it I want to do a
lot of cool things to it I'm really
excited about it because I think it's
cool and I think the kids are going to
love it and everything but then then I
came across this take a look at this
this is like a company that converts
Sprinter vans and this right here is the
front driver seat passenger seat
business style partition where they hang
a TV and then you have like this little
thing you can open and close right here
two Captain's chairs with drawers
underneath them and you know it kind of
looks like the inside of a jet
almost uh and I'll page through some of
these over here this is pretty cool uh
and I want to give you some price
comparisons here in just a moment but
you flip over to the other side you get
two more Captain shairs so you got four
Captain's chairs in the back these
almost lie down and kick out and you
could put tables out between them so
it's almost like a mobile office which
is cool because I if I ever wanted to
take you know the entire office
somewhere we could go somewhere with one
team and you can actually or one vehicle
and you can configure this in a way
where they'll put a table in the middle
and then you could kind of do like a
full round bench and make it more of
like an office setup or or in addition I
could also put latch systems on all of
these so I can put in all of my kids'
car seats and like this is kind of sick
I don't need you know the drink
container so we get rid of all that
anyway and you have storage in the back
on top of that and these are pretty tall
the Sprinter so you can stack stuff up
there but it's you know it's a
functional vehicle there's we could fit
the entire family in there plus a nanny
all the kids and the driver could be
separated from the noise so like from a
family point of view this is really
really functional now from a cost point
of view I look at my all-in cost on like
an upfitted cyber truck at about 160k so
you get the cyber Beast with taxes it's
about
$114,000 that's roughly what we paid
here let me see if I can pull up the
invoice because I know it's listed at 99
but uh yeah here look at this the total
cost cyberbeast
999 I got the wheels I got the
destination fee the car price is 105
registration license sales tax deposits
payment blah blah blah blah that's 115
266 so let's add this up for a moment
115
256 plus 8,000 for FSD because I'm
keeping the S that's
$123,000 plus wrap R's going to cost me
about four grand plus upfitting that I
want to do which is probably going to be
somewhere around another you know call
it 50k or something like that like
unplugged performance they're great
people they're wonderful there are a lot
of really cool things you could do you
could lift the truck you could put light
bars on the top on the front on the hood
you I mean there there's so many cool
things you could do uh upfitting these
uh it's it's amazing so and TBD on on
reveals for ideas like that but I mean
now all of a sudden I'm looking at a
$177,000 car and even if I don't do the
upfitting I'm still looking at a
$127,000 car and I know it's going to
depreciate Like a Rock cuz elon's you
know new models are probably just
different variants of existing vehicles
at lower prices and the the resale value
on these suckers is just going to
plummet we we know that they're re
they're so good at manufacturing that
they can manufacture a lot and the
resale value is just going to P we we
know that already okay but I'm not like
it's not like I'm going into this to
invest in it it's just it's cool I
really like it uh but then I look at the
cost of that Sprinter van and with
starlink tables starlink shout out to
Elon okay starlink tables the color I
want uh you know fit uh uh two people in
the front my entire family in the back
plus a helper uh or or maybe the older
kid up front with one adult and however
you want to do it right you have storage
for all your stuff you could use it for
for a team meeting rather than with the
cybertruck you're still only fitting
five people I really wanted the the
cybertruck when they pitched it as
Sixers vehicle as bummed that they got
rid of that little center console thing
in front you know when you when you put
when you stack all of that that cost at
177k versus this Sprinter that I showed
you the Sprinter is about
$164,000 plus tax it puts you probably
around 180 it's basically the same cost
and so then I'm like oh
okay I have FSD in the Model S
do I really need the Cyber truck is kind
of cool it's really cool like do you
just sell the model S but you know
you're going to take a big L on the
model S and you could transfer FSD but
you're still going to be out after
upfitting everything like you know 120
something K uh or maybe 100K or whatever
or do you go for something super
functional or do you just go DJ and go
for both I don't I I don't think that's
necessarily a good none of this is like
wise or like a financially Savvy but
it's like it's family it's fun but then
listen to this and and I you know me I
don't I don't have sponsors on the
channel so this matters less it's very
rare that I pitch sponsors anymore like
occasionally I'll pitch my old school
life insurance sponsorship or Weeble
sponsorship you know metkevin.com lifee
metkevin.com Weeble but I almost never
take
sponsorships and uh I I I kind of am in
a place where I'm just sort of like I I
just we just don't need sponsors
thankfully you know knock on wood uh and
uh we appreciate all of your support
obviously on the courses on building
your wealth or just watching the content
for free uh or or supporting uh the
various businesses whether you're a
stock hack client or a house hack client
or you're investing in house hack for U
the 5% yield plus upside in the company
that we're offering house.com you can
learn about that over there it's kind of
cool good way to diversify from the
stock market at alltime highs 100% of
The Upside in the company value and you
get a 5% yield pretty cool h.com read
read about the details there this video
is not a solicitation
but when you compare these and then you
hear stuff like this it is it is
interesting because I am also very
politically neutral and just listen to
what he says where I segwayed into a
rather
glorious finish the edit and sent the
video off to the brand as a preview they
and when I the video where I personally
I think the larger recall are still to
come it was at this point future the
motor does need to be swapped out but
they don't have replacements for that
just yet and we'll get ours in the
future personally I think the larger
recalls are still to come it was at this
point in the video where I segued into a
rather glorious sponsorship integration
and when I finished the edit and sent
the video off to the brand as a preview
they responded back and I quote we would
rather not be featured alongside
cybertruck content at this time which is
100% understandable and actually speaks
volume to the polarization of the
cybertruck when a well-respected brand
that you've all heard of decides not to
be featured alongside a cybertruck
because it would hurt their brand more
than help them and I don't blame them in
the slightest let's get back to the
video the first big personal issue I've
had with the Cyber truck is the
headlights if you take a look at all the
electric trucks that are out right now
all right so then he kind of goes into
discussions about uh you know how the
snow reflects uh uh and he talks about
some recall issues that they've had you
know whether it was um some of the metal
coming off the brake pedal thing you
know how he would have put two rivets
instead of one how the windows not
actually bulletproof even though they
suggested it would be like none of this
stuff really matters to me like this
loose bolt or you know backup camera not
working I'm not really worried about any
of this stuff this is just the nature of
like sort of V1 ownership of stuff
you're going to have to deal with some
of the chicken dly stuff trust me I was
like a V1 Tesla owner with uh autopilot
with uh the model X and dude I had so
many problems I mean I thought I bought
a lemon I went through hell and back
with that company and trying to trying
to like help them make it better uh but
that's that's okay you know that's just
the way it is when when you're an early
adopter but he has a good point he runs
this company called not a wheelchair and
uh he promotes this company in his
business and one of the problems that he
has and of course he talks about sort of
the frame of the truck one of the
problems he has is what happens if he
alienates his customers because he's
associated with Elon who is now so Pro
Trump and see I'm somebody who comes
across as like at least you know like I
I I seriously I I want to be so
transparent about this like I'm so in
the middle it it does not matter to me
who wins whatever happens I will cover
the news I will provide you value no
matter what
I spoiler aler I hate politics okay I
hate
it I care about what's best for
everybody watching and these
people
okay but he has a point like if you want
to be politically neutral are you now
aligning yourself with one faction by
being a cyber truck owner now of course
A lot of people are going to go well who
cares you know that's the right side to
be on anyway sure that's what 50% of
people are going to say maybe 49 51
somewhere on there but what about
everyone else so I don't know I feel
like I'm a little bit in a dilemma and I
wanted to ask you what your opinion is I
guess the options are both one the other
or neither I don't know I don't know
what the answer is so let me know what
you think uh but these are some things
that are going through my mind right now
and I do think it's very interesting
that Jerry rig everything is thinking
about potentially dumping his cyber
truck why not advertise these things
that you told us here I feel like nobody
else knows about this we'll we'll try a
little advertising in seeo
congratulations man you have done so
much people love you people look up to
you Kevin PA there financial analyst and
YouTuber meet Kevin always great to get
your take
