0:00

hey everyone yeah it's me Kevin and I'm

0:03

wearing a Christmas sweater on January

0:06

21st uh seven days literally uh a week I

0:10

don't even have my watch on so I don't

0:11

know why I'm looking here a week before

0:13

uh my birthday a week before my 31st

0:16

birthday uh and uh I'm coming to you on

0:19

sort of a special occasion because it

0:21

also happens to be the one year

0:23

anniversary of me having made this sort

0:26

of groundbreaking video that all of a

0:29

sudden I had changed my mind and I was

0:30

selling all of my stocks uh January 21st

0:34

of of 2022 uh and uh I wanted to make

0:39

this video to reveal a few things that

0:41

I've never revealed before on the

0:42

channel and I'll also talk about some

0:45

some hard things uh and as well as some

0:48

some plans and uh some direction for the

0:53

channel and for you as a viewer so uh I

0:56

I wanted to start with this

0:58

this is kind of embarrassing I wanted to

1:00

start with this letter uh that I

1:02

actually wrote uh about six and a half

1:05

years ago oh wow uh actually coming up

1:08

on seven years ago in about a month

1:10

it'll be about seven years uh and it's a

1:13

it's a letter that I wrote uh on

1:15

Facebook

1:16

to uh a study abroad group that I was

1:19

with and I want to share that experience

1:21

with you uh the letter that I wrote then

1:23

and talk to you a little bit about how

1:25

things are now uh and and then we'll get

1:28

into some plans for the future because I

1:30

think

1:31

ultimately everyone's human and well

1:34

things are always perfect so let's take

1:38

a look at this so

1:41

I wrote this February 23rd of 2016. uh

1:44

oh at 11 PM okay yeah

1:47

uh anyway I wrote um and this is crazy

1:50

okay 2016. mind you this is uh again

1:54

almost seven years ago uh that's uh

1:56

that's wild what am I doing I wrote

1:59

I have some thoughts that I feel I must

2:01

share with my fellow Parisian Travelers

2:03

we we were all you know right we were

2:06

big into writing and trying to be

2:08

somewhat fancy but I also tried to be as

2:10

uh as sincere as possible here

2:12

uh many of these thoughts have been

2:14

brewing within me for the last 19 months

2:16

that's because 2015 was a particularly

2:19

hard year uh 581 days to be exact I

2:22

wrote money sucks I don't mean that to

2:25

sound ostentatious because I don't have

2:28

much I mean that to say I feel driven to

2:30

make more money beat those on the

2:33

relativity race focus on buying bigger

2:36

things a better house a nicer car a

2:38

fancier home automation system yet I'm

2:41

miserable waking up early working

2:44

extremely long hours just for a bigger

2:46

number somewhere is rewarding in the

2:48

short term but the result of stress and

2:52

results in more stress it's sort of

2:55

ironic but it just sort of as an aside

2:57

you know people are like oh you have

3:00

more stuff and it's like yeah you know

3:03

more stuff isn't all it's chalked up to

3:05

be the more iPads you have the more

3:07

iPads you got to do software updates too

3:09

you know and I'm just saying that as

3:11

sort of like a generic way and know it's

3:13

it's nice to have iPads you can get them

3:15

for like 329 now the the basic 10.9 inch

3:19

ones uh but but yeah I mean

3:23

it's true the more stuff you have the

3:25

more you look around and you're like

3:27

there's another battery I have to change

3:28

there's something else I have to deal

3:30

with there's something else I have to

3:31

optimize oh wow you have a plane great

3:33

now your windshields are broken and you

3:35

gotta send it in for maintenance and now

3:37

you don't have a plane you know it's

3:39

like

3:40

anyway when I spend 12 hours working in

3:44

real estate this was pre-youtube keep in

3:46

mind right

3:47

but I spend 12 hours working in real

3:49

estate I follow it up with more hours

3:50

working on household projects that will

3:53

better the business and lead to what

3:55

more work I spend more time focusing on

3:58

budgets and Investments more time

4:01

reading books on markets and sales I've

4:04

always been a big fan of like the macro

4:06

economic cycle uh if I'm not a hundred

4:09

percent focused on work I'm not being

4:11

efficient and then I feel guilty

4:14

this um could not be more True by the

4:17

way uh you know I have two children now

4:19

I always told myself that I'd spend so

4:21

much exponentially more time with my

4:24

children once I had children but I

4:25

didn't have to worry about that because

4:26

I didn't have children so it's easy to

4:28

say

4:30

in two days I have a four-year-old that

4:33

turns five and a seven-year-old

4:37

and I turned 31.

4:39

it's been nearly seven years and I still

4:42

have not figured out how to actually

4:44

balance my life

4:47

this letter that I'm reading you from

4:49

seven years ago if anything is more true

4:53

today than it has ever been before and

4:56

it was really true back then

5:01

if I'm not 100 focused on work I'm not

5:03

being efficient and I feel guilty yet

5:06

the more I work the less time I spend

5:08

with family and my then six month old

5:10

Jack who by the way just rolled over on

5:12

his own for the first time and I was at

5:15

work

5:16

I consider you all my YouTube family

5:19

I was working 80 hour weeks immediately

5:22

before our trip so this this is a

5:25

reference okay let me just be clear here

5:28

I was in um

5:31

I was in a history class in at UCLA uh

5:36

and and don't think I'm like critically

5:38

smart or something because I went to

5:39

UCLA and got into a major that had like

5:42

a 10 admit rate I had I figured out the

5:45

hack you go to a community college you

5:47

get in-state tuition because you support

5:48

yourself and you prove that to the

5:50

college system and as long as you get

5:52

straight A's you get a highlighter

5:53

through your name and guess what wow

5:54

they prioritize people from the in-state

5:57

community college system so yeah I got

5:58

straight A's of the community college

6:00

but I didn't get straight As I usually

6:04

um

6:05

anyway uh I so I remember this political

6:08

class and not paying attention doing

6:11

work emails because I'm like this is

6:13

boring I'll just read the book and so

6:14

I'm sitting there doing work emails I

6:15

wasn't paying attention and these people

6:17

come in and they provide this

6:19

presentation I didn't listen to a single

6:21

word of it until about their their

6:23

wrap-up line I'm like oh good they're

6:25

almost done okay what was this all about

6:26

and then they're like

6:28

so yeah you can go to Paris and Venice

6:31

for three weeks and get a whole semester

6:33

or it was quarter there on the quarter

6:35

system get a whole quarter of credits

6:36

and I'm like

6:39

wait a second can you

6:41

like rewind everything you just said and

6:44

start over basically uh what it was was

6:47

you could go on a summer trip to Paris

6:49

for two weeks and Venice for one week

6:53

and you get a whole quarter of credits

6:55

and I'm like

6:56

where do I sign

6:59

because anything again I could do to

7:01

optimize my life at that point and spend

7:03

less time while getting more was a good

7:05

thing uh and but what was really

7:08

remarkable about this I don't know if I

7:10

talk about it I haven't read this in in

7:12

years but uh what was remarkable is I

7:15

went from the most ridiculous real

7:17

estate schedule ever to where I was

7:19

begging Lauren to drive me around so I

7:21

could do my files for real estate

7:23

transactions because I was doing it all

7:25

myself

7:27

and continue to do more real estate

7:29

transactions

7:31

and so I thought three weeks okay abroad

7:34

great my father-in-law offered he's

7:36

retired at the time he offered he said

7:39

you know what I'll step I'll just I'll

7:41

I'll try to keep everything afloat for

7:42

you I'll answer all the phone calls the

7:45

emails if somebody needs the door

7:46

unlocked I'll do it set it up perfectly

7:48

for me and then when you come back and

7:50

putting it all back on your desk

7:52

and so the cool thing about that was I

7:53

actually got a taste of what three weeks

7:55

of no work was like

7:58

I have not had three weeks of no work

8:02

since 2014 which is when this trip was

8:06

bear in mind I wrote this post in 2016.

8:10

so I was reflecting back on 2014 which

8:14

now is like coming up on nine years ago

8:17

which is when I was 21.

8:19

anyway back into the letter

8:22

I consider you all my Parisian family I

8:24

was working 80 hour weeks probably more

8:26

honestly before our trip and right back

8:28

to 80 hours immediately after our trip I

8:30

paid my father-in-law six thousand

8:32

dollars to run my entire business while

8:34

I was gone damn that was a bargain

8:36

uh I hated writing that check oh damn it

8:39

Kevin today I wish I had the money to

8:42

pay someone six thousand dollars every

8:44

week

8:45

for the rest of my life to go back to

8:47

the style of life we were fortunate

8:49

enough to taste in Paris

8:53

you know what's actually really special

8:55

about Paris is I um I actually met

8:58

Lauren in Paris in 2008. you might not

9:00

know that but

9:02

in 2008 I was on uh my dad spent on his

9:07

credit card he had no money

9:09

we took out credit card debt and made

9:12

the minimum payments to send me on this

9:14

Europe trip because I begged the crap

9:15

out of them

9:17

and I met Lauren on that trip in Paris

9:19

on a boat next to the Eiffel Tower on a

9:22

river

9:24

so Paris has a really special place in

9:26

my heart so that another reason why when

9:28

I had an opportunity to go to Paris I'm

9:29

like yes anyway

9:32

we're fortunate enough to taste in Paris

9:33

don't mistake this to mean don't work my

9:36

intention is having work in such balance

9:39

that you can enjoy a museum without

9:41

having chest pain because of all of the

9:44

thoughts floating in your head so much

9:47

so that when you go to the cardiologist

9:49

for pain you can't even focus on the

9:52

picture in front of you on the treadmill

9:54

this is true this is called a stress

9:57

test they make you look at a picture and

9:58

they try to tell you to relax and and

10:00

they're like I don't know are you dying

10:01

or are you just having like an anxiety

10:03

disorder or something anyway see even

10:05

when I'm quote off work I'm thinking

10:08

about work yeah this is still true today

10:10

I wake up at you know 4 a.m and it's

10:12

like the minute the alarm goes off I go

10:14

oh I got a lot of stuff to do and as I'm

10:17

going to sleep I'm like oh still got a

10:20

lot of stuff to do

10:21

I laugh but it's bad

10:24

anyway the stress doesn't go away I've

10:26

tried forcing myself to take Saturdays

10:28

off ooh that was terrible that was like

10:30

the worst time of my life is taking

10:31

Saturdays off because I ended up getting

10:33

nothing done and I felt like zero

10:35

accomplishment and pushed it all off to

10:36

Sundays that was bad but anyway what do

10:38

I do Saturdays I spend the day thinking

10:41

about what I need to do Sunday you know

10:43

or better yet I work on building my home

10:45

office so I can be more efficient at

10:47

work and tell all my potential clients

10:48

that I have a soundproof fully automated

10:50

office

10:51

that's actually what I'm in right now

10:53

see somebody asked me the other day

10:55

they're like hey man like how did you

10:57

how did you like blow up in 2020 and

11:00

2021 and and I I told him I'm like this

11:02

sounds cliche this was actually somebody

11:03

who paid to Shadow me for two days in a

11:05

row and uh because my okay this sounds

11:09

like pompous and ridiculous but it's

11:10

true because and it's like extremely

11:12

stressful like I thought this would

11:13

reduce stress in my life it's not

11:15

because my plane is in maintenance for a

11:18

stupid like heating element uh repair on

11:20

the windshield uh fortunately it should

11:22

be an under warranty repair

11:25

um but anyway it's it's been in

11:26

maintenance for like a week and I'm like

11:28

like I bought this to make my life

11:29

easier and now I'm having to rearrange

11:31

stuff it's making my life more stressful

11:32

anyway

11:33

um

11:34

somebody shot on me in person though the

11:37

last couple days and they're like Hey

11:38

Kevin like how hot like how were you

11:41

able to work so efficiently in 20 20 21

11:43

and and I'm like well I spent like six

11:47

years before 2020 building a studio and

11:50

a home office that was exceptionally

11:52

efficient at producing content quickly

11:55

live whatever we needed to do which was

11:57

great during the whole you know stimulus

11:58

and finance boom and era of 2020 and

12:01

2021

12:02

uh but but but yeah that was actually

12:06

around the time I was building this

12:08

which is weird because I didn't actually

12:09

make YouTube videos for another two

12:11

years after this point more religiously

12:14

which is remarkable because it like

12:16

shows like

12:18

you know people don't become successful

12:20

overnight it takes a lot of prep and I'm

12:24

not trying to Pat myself on the back

12:25

here I'm like I I you know I've there

12:27

was a whole lot of luck that went into

12:28

it too it's sort of it's sort of in my

12:30

opinion people people like to say oh

12:32

it's when preparation meets opportunity

12:33

I like to say it's when preparation

12:35

meets luck anyway all right so I

12:39

continue and I say look this may sound

12:40

so terribly first world problem-esque

12:43

part of me feels selfish venting because

12:46

I hope that I can Inspire myself to find

12:48

a way to change what I've fallen into

12:50

nope still haven't figured it out part

12:52

of me wants to share the desire to live

12:55

the Parisian and Venetian lifestyle yeah

12:58

dude I'm jealous okay like I would wake

13:01

up at eight in the morning

13:02

[Music]

13:03

find an English newspaper and have a

13:06

coffee somewhere on the side of a

13:08

beautiful Parisian Street it was summer

13:10

so the weather was phenomenal and I'd

13:13

ride my bike to the grocery store I

13:15

didn't own a bike so I had to get like a

13:17

city bike which is fine because you drop

13:18

it off wherever you know at the city

13:20

bike stations anyway

13:21

again I'm not suggesting don't work I

13:23

used to think wow Paris nobody works how

13:25

lazy oh Italy must be nice let's have

13:27

another cappuccino and not work

13:29

wow how ignorant I was their culture has

13:33

life I should say more figured out I

13:36

feel I'm failing by overworking and a

13:39

leading and unbalanced life I know now

13:42

yet still can't solve my own issues that

13:45

I'm simply robbing the days of my youth

13:49

and donating those to uncertain days of

13:53

retirement in the future

13:55

oh damn

13:57

yeah that hits deep I mean that's

13:59

basically what you do when you like

14:01

overwork yourself right you're robbing

14:03

your

14:05

guaranteed time now

14:08

for an uncertain future you know you

14:11

could build all this wealth and get hit

14:12

by a bus tomorrow and then it's like

14:14

well what the hell if you didn't enjoy

14:15

the journey what the hell right

14:18

anyway

14:19

I think the problem is quote or Colin

14:22

rushing to make more money having that

14:24

fancier car trying to appear successful

14:27

to others oh man you know the first

14:30

video that I made on YouTube uh in in

14:33

finance YouTube was because I actually

14:35

made a video in 2018 reviewing a game I

14:38

should have realized how critical

14:39

YouTube was at that point because the

14:41

game developers called me it only got

14:42

like 5 000 views but it was on Heroes of

14:44

telara you could actually still find it

14:46

you probably type into YouTube meet

14:47

Kevin no it probably wouldn't have been

14:49

under meet Kevin

14:50

just type in Heroes of telara review on

14:53

YouTube you'll probably find it you'll

14:54

see Kevin like 15 years ago so I would

14:58

have been like 16. but anyway

15:00

um my first video in 2017 on finance was

15:03

talking about the toxicity of Relativity

15:05

comparing yourself to other people

15:06

anyway so I write who cares

15:08

true

15:10

what I want is experiences with those I

15:13

care about that's probably r but anyway

15:15

I want to share feelings emotions

15:17

stories and opportunities with family

15:19

friends and peers real estate is great I

15:22

worked over 50 clients last year sadly I

15:24

would have rather worked with five and

15:26

lived in a modest Bungalow with my

15:28

family the problem I feel greed I feel

15:32

some almost innate urge to keep going to

15:36

basically look more impressive and seem

15:38

more impressive right to keep booking

15:40

appointments over lunch plans with

15:41

family to cancel trips to forego outings

15:44

with Jack in favor of getting that new

15:46

client

15:48

clients Pat me on the back and say keep

15:49

it up you're great

15:51

no I'm not

15:53

and I shouldn't

15:56

leaving Paris and Venice already

16:00

581 days ago wow is the memory I keep

16:06

going back to

16:07

I directly feel the most difficult

16:09

transition ever going from a ridiculous

16:11

amount of work with no lifetime to a

16:14

modest amount of work our classwork wall

16:16

abroad that was like nothing and plenty

16:18

of Lifetime to a ridiculous amount of

16:21

work again right that was that

16:22

transition I talked to you about about

16:23

my father-in-law uh you know what he's

16:25

retired taking over during that window

16:29

I'll never forget coming back and him

16:31

being like

16:33

here you go and I'm like no this is not

16:36

the life I want to go back to

16:38

here I am

16:42

almost eight years later still doing the

16:44

same thing

16:46

yeah when I visit our group page I see

16:49

the ultimate reminder of why I'm failing

16:52

Ron is how [ __ ] I forgot about this

16:56

um one of our members passed away

17:01

this is this is a small group mind you

17:03

okay this this was a small group of um

17:08

a folks and

17:11

um

17:12

I don't think it's necessary to point

17:14

out but one of these people is no longer

17:16

here

17:17

and I wrote that in 2016. holy smokes

17:22

um okay

17:24

anyway wow uh so anyway

17:28

um let's keep going here

17:30

Ron is no longer with us why am I

17:32

subjecting myself to be a slave for a

17:34

larger number when my days as well are

17:37

limited when I realized that Aristotle's

17:40

mean that's average is what's important

17:43

balance not the extreme

17:46

you Diamond ear is the good life the

17:49

balance

17:51

not the extreme perhaps my problem is I

17:55

really want to do great things

17:57

see and this is a problem I've always

17:59

realized is I've always wanted to do

18:00

great things uh yet I wish I could

18:03

resign myself to enjoy great things

18:05

rather than trying to be great how sad

18:08

that I even feel I would have to resign

18:11

myself for that that should be the only

18:14

goal I should have yeah I mean you know

18:16

there's a joke that Caesar Julius Caesar

18:19

think about think about this for a

18:21

moment okay

18:22

Julius Caesar

18:25

looked at Alexander the Great and said I

18:28

want to be him I'm not good enough I

18:30

must be like him

18:32

and Alexander the Great is like I'm

18:35

better than Caesar but then behind

18:37

closed doors he's like

18:40

damn there's this guy named God who's

18:43

better than me and I must be better than

18:45

him I must be more revered and it just

18:48

makes you think like that's so

18:49

ridiculous it's like ludicrous right

18:53

I wish you all the greatest success this

18:55

should not be considered living in the

18:57

past or missing College this is a

18:59

realization that a relatively

19:00

inexpensive trip to Europe made me

19:03

happier than I've been at any point in

19:05

the last

19:06

ah

19:08

eight years nine years

19:10

this is not how life should be why is it

19:13

not Jack's birth or some of his first or

19:16

birthdays or Vacations or Christmas or

19:17

anniversaries the toxicity that a

19:20

Relentless pursuit of more creates is

19:22

why

19:23

and then I put some pictures over here

19:25

this was a particularly fun one by the

19:27

way because I was at a French or France

19:30

versus Germany soccer game a football

19:32

game as they say and I'm hiding my

19:35

German rhizopus because the the Germans

19:39

were not very popular

19:40

there so I was hiding that anyway

19:43

um yeah yeah this this is a big deal and

19:47

uh I have to say you know the last uh

19:50

certainly two or three years I feel as

19:52

though I've been continuously adding

19:54

maximum stress to my plate I've lost

19:59

best friends I've made mistakes both

20:01

personally and professionally and uh

20:05

though you know the the you know through

20:07

these mistakes uh and and the stress of

20:10

trying to continue to grow I've

20:12

struggled through sleepless nights and a

20:16

very difficult decision making

20:18

so you know I've tried almost every

20:21

single day to post value totally for

20:24

free on the channel obviously many of

20:26

you know that I uh yeah okay okay I make

20:29

money I sell programs on building your

20:31

wealth yeah okay there's a coupon code

20:33

expiring January 30th uh and it'll be

20:36

the best price that we have for bare

20:38

minimum the next multiple months uh

20:41

because that's a promise I'm making it's

20:42

actually a problem you'll learn about

20:43

that in a moment but I have a plan

20:45

coming up for improving uh the channel

20:47

but anyway

20:49

you know I ran for governor I launched

20:51

house hack I launched an ETF I bought a

20:54

plane it rang the bell at the New York

20:57

Stock Exchange you know actually

20:59

I really enjoy this jacket the New York

21:01

New York Stock Exchange vest I should

21:03

say I think it's really cool you know

21:06

all these things are really cool

21:09

they don't necessarily make you happy

21:11

they they can be kind of hellish on the

21:13

inside

21:14

you know I struggle maintaining

21:15

friendships time with family balancing

21:17

time with kids worrying about the safety

21:19

of our family uh trying to optimize

21:22

businesses while getting hate mailed to

21:24

you and your car tires slashed on your

21:27

Tesla to where you have to remove the

21:29

face from the side of your Tesla because

21:30

you're the target of hate uh you know

21:32

I'm not trying to like be here and be

21:34

like oh what was me it's like dude I

21:36

brought this all myself okay like I've

21:37

done things well I've done things poorly

21:39

uh it's it's more to say that you know a

21:42

lot of people in life uh CEOs people

21:45

like Elon Musk they go through life and

21:47

they're like damn you know

21:49

you don't want to kind of wish always

21:52

working on anyone else it's kind of like

21:53

Elon Musk says he has a hard time

21:55

switching his brain off and he's not

21:57

sure anybody else would want to be in

21:58

his position and by no means am I

21:59

comparing myself to him that'd be crazy

22:01

but it's like

22:03

you know I used to roll my eyes when

22:05

people would say they had anxiety uh and

22:08

say things like oh only peace in life is

22:10

when you're asleep and now I'm like

22:14

hmm it's kind of true it's like the only

22:18

peaceful time is when you're sleeping

22:20

when you know when you kind of try to

22:22

turn it off at least

22:24

so uh I've I've

22:28

this isn't supposed to be like it

22:30

like sad or like oh make you feel bad or

22:33

whatever it's just to say that every

22:34

everybody goes through difficult times

22:36

right and I feel like I kind of haven't

22:39

figured out how to get out of that sort

22:41

of time for the last long time

22:45

and so I I made a goal uh I have a plan

22:50

because I I think one of the things that

22:52

is best that you do is

22:54

you acknowledge uh the issues that you

22:58

have and then you do your best to

22:59

improve them

23:00

and one of the things that I've realized

23:03

is

23:04

you can't do it all yourself

23:07

and you gotta have people to talk to

23:09

I've I've never valued talking to other

23:13

people or or really building a team

23:16

honestly probably

23:19

up to a month or two ago I honestly you

23:22

know what it was it was it was ringing

23:24

the bell of the New York Stock Exchange

23:25

it was the opportunity of a lifetime to

23:28

push that button 15 seconds before the

23:30

closing bell

23:31

and then picking up that gavel that

23:33

gavel that

23:35

you know

23:37

not a lot of people have held

23:39

and hitting it to Mark the closing bell

23:43

to me that gavel represented

23:47

a change uh and it's one that I've been

23:50

so terribly grateful of uh over just the

23:52

last couple of months here but it's one

23:54

that I've never been used to

23:56

and it's actually investing in people

24:00

in 2020 2021 I pretty much did

24:03

everything myself in 2015 I did

24:04

everything myself before 2015 I did

24:06

everything myself most of the time it's

24:08

always just been me

24:10

and I've come to realize that

24:13

the best thing that I could do is hope

24:17

to create the best possible work

24:19

environment

24:21

for co-workers and for a team and to

24:25

make sure that I'm doing everything I

24:26

can in my power to make them have the

24:29

best opportunities because if I can make

24:32

them have the best opportunities and the

24:34

best success I believe the companies

24:36

succeed all of the companies win if they

24:39

win the company's win

24:41

and I have committed

24:44

because I have no idea how deep this

24:46

recession is going to go

24:48

so I have committed

24:51

all of my net worth because I I feel

24:54

that net worth and money is is just an

24:57

object and it's not it's not a factor of

24:59

Happiness Beyond paying the bills

25:01

I've committed all of my net worth

25:03

whatever that may be at any given day

25:06

given real estate or stock fluctuations

25:08

or whatever I've committed everything to

25:10

the idea of building out the best

25:13

possible teams ever

25:16

and that's actually been really freeing

25:18

to me because it's it's made me feel

25:21

very happy about the idea of paying

25:24

three incredibly intelligent interns

25:27

paying one of the most hardest working

25:29

investor relations people ever paying

25:31

one of the most diligent uh and creative

25:35

CPAs ever paying the bookkeeper who

25:38

grinds more than anybody else I've seen

25:40

someone grind the videographer who just

25:42

who gets it gets advice and insights and

25:46

adapts the compliance officer who who

25:49

rolls with the punches the the chief

25:53

operating officer who literally does

25:55

whatever the hell I need help with to

25:59

the Four Construction and property

26:01

management team members who are like

26:03

let's go let's grow you know I've gone

26:06

from a team of of no one to quite a

26:09

large team uh and and I bear the cost of

26:12

of the entire team right now uh at least

26:16

up to this moment you know my startup

26:19

for example house hack hasn't been built

26:21

a dime uh for for anyone on my team

26:24

because

26:25

we're not really operating yet I mean

26:27

there's some expenses obviously that

26:28

house hack is paying but we'll I'll do a

26:31

househack update in a moment

26:32

but

26:34

I'm I'm committing to people uh and I

26:38

think that's probably one of the most

26:40

important things that I can do going

26:41

forward to make sure that I could

26:43

streamline the value that I could

26:44

provide at all of the different

26:46

directions that I'm being pulled in so I

26:48

think the easiest thing to do at this

26:50

point is just provide a little bit of

26:51

insight into the different directions

26:52

that I'm being pulled into and the plans

26:54

that I have

26:56

because I've kind of committed to going

26:58

all in

26:59

I

27:00

I bought a plane that cost me about 5

27:04

500 a day

27:06

and whether I use it or not

27:08

and that's me personally you know

27:11

I signed up for that not my startups I

27:15

did okay I'm taking that risk and it's

27:18

not because I want to go you know oh

27:20

look at me sipping my Mai Tai while I'm

27:22

flying my private jet honestly I think

27:24

if you made it this far in the video

27:26

you're like yeah no that ain't Kevin

27:28

like

27:29

Kevin's gonna be working maybe he'll

27:31

he'll work and at the end of the day

27:32

have a mai tai but he's he's working all

27:34

the time it's like a curse I don't wish

27:37

it on anyone

27:38

but um but yeah I uh right now as as as

27:41

an individual and I talked with course

27:43

members about this the other day because

27:45

I do these sort of casual course member

27:48

live streams every day the market is

27:50

open your life's lifetime access to

27:52

those by the way if you join

27:53

before January 30th but anyway

27:56

um you know I I talked about how my

27:57

monthly or sorry my daily cash burn

28:00

right now is about twelve thousand six

28:03

hundred dollars a day

28:04

that's not that has nothing to do with

28:07

househack okay house hack right now is

28:09

cash flow positive like 70 000 a month

28:11

it's great

28:14

this is stuff that I've signed up for

28:15

but anyway let me go through sort of my

28:17

plan so

28:18

YouTube plan YouTube plan is the

28:20

following

28:22

I have uh come to realize uh some of my

28:25

shortcomings uh and I have read a lot of

28:28

your feedback in the last few days about

28:30

long versus uh shorter content like

28:33

medium length content you know 40 minute

28:34

videos versus say 15 20 minute videos

28:38

I've done a lot of studying about uh

28:41

short form content whether that's Tick

28:43

Tock or Instagram or YouTube shorts or

28:46

whatever

28:47

and I have a plan

28:51

my plan is every day

28:54

probably starting Monday the 23rd which

28:56

is actually Max's fifth birthday

28:59

starting Monday the 23rd every day I

29:02

plan

29:04

to consistently and and this is my

29:07

promise uh you know hopefully I don't

29:09

flip-flop again but for as long as

29:11

possible to post a live stream video

29:15

every day starting at 4 45 or 5 right

29:20

around that window 4 45 to 5 a.m Pacific

29:22

time

29:23

and that live stream video will be the

29:27

culmination of almost all of my content

29:30

for the day I'd say about 90 of the

29:31

content for the day

29:33

and uh this is a strategy that I hope

29:35

will work well because it will give the

29:38

viewer what I think is a very beneficial

29:41

it will give you the opportunity to

29:43

essentially podcast my content

29:45

between uh the hours of now Eastern uh 7

29:49

45 a.m to about 9 00 a.m eastern time

29:53

California Time 4 45 to about uh 6 A.M

29:57

and you can sort of podcast my entire

29:59

content for the day news politics crypto

30:02

memes the sticks the charts uh the five

30:05

year break evens treasuries my opinions

30:08

my reactions again politics crypto real

30:10

estate socks all of that right

30:12

and uh what we'll do is we will

30:15

chop that up into uh various different

30:19

probably uh you know core content

30:21

segments of 15 to 25 minutes so for

30:24

example if I have a Tesla segment or a

30:27

Dixie short segment or a globalization

30:30

segment or a debt ceiling segment we'll

30:32

post those separately later in the day

30:34

maybe 11 A.M 1 p.m 3 P.M 5 p.m whatever

30:40

but what I'll do is I'll number the

30:41

podcasts so that way people who want to

30:44

see the podcast will just see me Kevin

30:46

report episode one episode two episode

30:48

three right and we'll put a date on

30:50

there probably as well so that way you

30:51

could just watch the podcast on the date

30:53

they're done it's kind of like

30:54

podcasting my content and if you just

30:56

want to watch specific shorter videos

30:58

well those will be chopped up later in

30:59

the rest of the day and there will be

31:01

times where there will be unique content

31:03

uh that won't be in the podcast that'll

31:05

be posted the rest of the day but we're

31:06

going to try this

31:08

and I think that'll be the best of both

31:10

where if you just want to play meet

31:12

Kevin and it's you know an hour hour 15

31:14

minute video you could do that you want

31:16

to hop over and switch to the course

31:17

member live stream at 6am you kind of

31:19

just want to listen to that passively

31:20

great you could do that as well then

31:21

then you get a lot of me Kevin content

31:23

all together if you just want to watch

31:25

the specific information on one topic

31:27

great we'll have that for you as well

31:29

uh and I plan to do that every day

31:31

Monday through Sunday so that is uh that

31:33

is a plan that I have uh and

31:37

then

31:38

house hack

31:40

we have some uh okay well throughout the

31:45

day uh I will be researching content and

31:47

the early morning hours I'll be

31:49

researching content for that longer

31:51

video in the morning so much of the day

31:54

when I'm traveling or driving somewhere

31:56

uh you know somebody else driving or

31:58

it's the evening or whatever all of that

32:01

content ideally will be condensed into

32:03

that morning live stream

32:04

and that will then free me to team build

32:07

I'll be able to work with the team work

32:10

on Research together but also work for

32:12

house hack

32:14

because in the last two or three days

32:16

for house hack uh which keep in mind all

32:19

the money is invested in treasuries I

32:21

think I almost timed the top of the

32:23

market for treasuries perfectly which is

32:25

excellent because the yield we're

32:27

getting is great this is not to be

32:28

confused with like buying a stock at the

32:30

top of the market this is to be like

32:32

timing the top of the yields at the top

32:35

which is what you want you know we're

32:36

getting somewhere around four and a

32:38

quarter percent net yield on the money

32:40

that we invested with house hack while

32:41

we wait to buy real estate and you know

32:43

now now it'd probably be closer to three

32:46

and a half maybe three point six three

32:48

point seven percent with the Blended

32:49

portfolio that we have laddered but

32:51

anyway my plan is is to really go very

32:54

deep in house hack because we have an

32:56

insane plan for househack insane

32:59

uh we have actually come up with an

33:03

extremely what we believe I can't

33:05

guarantee this obviously but profitable

33:08

way extremely profitable again no

33:11

guarantees no guarantees okay I want to

33:13

make this very clear this is just a

33:14

vision it's just a plan but we believe

33:16

we have come up

33:18

with an extremely profitable way to

33:21

compete with crowd Street fundrise

33:24

Invitation Homes Zillow and Redfin like

33:27

no real estate company has ever competed

33:30

before

33:33

we expect to allow accredited investors

33:37

come probably March or April I don't

33:39

think February is going to happen but

33:40

probably March or April

33:43

uh it's going to be a combination of

33:45

Technology the likes of which we we have

33:48

not presented before

33:51

uh and real estate and we are extremely

33:55

bullish on on what we're about to

33:57

present but it's going to take a lot of

33:59

time and a lot of investment and there's

34:02

a reason I'm personally signing on the

34:04

debt for a plane none of the house hack

34:06

money was used for the plane house hack

34:07

has paid zero uh dollars for the plane

34:13

I just want to be very clear about that

34:15

um I I you know ultimately my view is

34:17

that I want to make sure that house hack

34:19

investors

34:20

look at their house hack investment

34:22

they're like wow can I do another deal

34:24

with me Kevin you know like like I'm

34:27

building a reputation

34:28

I'm about to turn 31. if I want to do

34:31

Wall Street and investing for the next

34:33

30 40 50 years as long as I may live

34:37

I need to do the right thing

34:40

so we've got some really incredible

34:41

announcements but they're going to take

34:42

a lot of work and I think scheduling my

34:44

YouTube out this way and and providing

34:47

this value to you live in the mornings

34:49

will be very very important uh and and

34:51

very useful and it'll also be very

34:53

interactive because uh those of you who

34:55

do pay uh to be a member here you know

34:57

my goal is to integrate your commentary

35:00

into my videos as well and so that'll be

35:02

very very cool it's only like 4.99 or

35:04

whatever to be a member here

35:06

not to be confused with the Course

35:07

membership which is different but anyway

35:10

I also have big plans for

35:12

actually building out in the future some

35:14

form of uh investment advisory business

35:17

I'm a licensed financial advisor I plan

35:20

to be able to send for various different

35:23

exchange traded funds ETFs buy and sell

35:26

alerts for free publish research and

35:29

news for free these are all plans that

35:31

are in progress

35:33

not ones that I really want to mention

35:34

here

35:36

um

35:37

well because they're still being worked

35:39

on but I believe that uh narrowing my my

35:43

YouTube Focus down into basically the

35:45

morning so I'll probably wake up around

35:47

3 A.M

35:48

and work YouTube until about seven a.m

35:51

keep in mind I'll still be doing

35:52

research throughout the day with my team

35:54

but a lot of that research will be

35:56

investment advisor focused and how Sac

35:57

focused but a lot of that research we do

36:00

for those businesses which a lot of it

36:02

involves macro and stock analysis will

36:04

be incorporated into what I consolidate

36:06

at 3am in the morning so like I believe

36:08

strongly I can build all three of these

36:10

businesses very very very well so I'm

36:13

very excited about that but um it does

36:15

mean I'm investing massively money and

36:18

time into these businesses and taking

36:20

huge risks building team and and

36:22

whatever else

36:23

uh so you know I believe I have a plan

36:27

I think it's a good plan

36:30

um but I really want to provide you a

36:33

little bit of advice before I go because

36:34

there's nothing that that I honor more

36:37

than than the people who watch me here

36:39

and I sincerely owe you a massive thank

36:42

you uh I am

36:45

you know I'm just a dude on YouTube

36:48

as much as it seems like oh but you know

36:51

you have a plane you have an ETF uh you

36:53

know you got a team you got this or you

36:55

got money or that or whatever

36:58

you know I really feel like I could sit

37:00

down with all of y'all and have a glass

37:02

of wine or beer or drink a coffee I

37:05

don't know whatever you're into or water

37:06

was you want to go Topo Chico it's

37:08

finally

37:09

you know

37:11

it's um

37:13

I wouldn't wish all of this madness on

37:16

anyone

37:17

but I'm very excited about it and and

37:19

even though this this video probably has

37:21

a little bit of a of a Down tilt to it I

37:23

want you to know I'm extremely

37:25

optimistic but I do want to share that

37:28

you know for those of you who have ever

37:30

been in pain or or feeling pain right

37:32

now

37:34

don't give up

37:36

have someone to talk to find someone to

37:39

talk to anyone

37:41

and the most important thing you could

37:43

do is make a plan and then take baby

37:45

steps towards that plan

37:49

this happens to be a baby step for me

37:52

so to all the

37:55

clowns and flip-floppers which I am

37:58

honored to be a part of

38:00

I truly believe that all of us are going

38:03

through this journey just trying to do

38:05

our best with the information we have

38:07

available to us

38:11

huh and I think that's all we can expect

38:14

of each other

38:15

so with that said uh thank you

38:18

and we'll see you Monday
