0:00

hey everyone meet kevin here in this

0:01

video we're going to talk an eevee

0:03

update electric vehicle update we're

0:04

going to talk tesla neo but most

0:06

importantly we're going to be talking in

0:08

this video about a potential

0:09

newer company that we haven't talked

0:11

much about on this channel it is a spec

0:13

that merged earlier this year it's only

0:16

got about a two billion dollar valuation

0:18

and folks there could be some potential

0:20

upside in this particular company

0:22

because it's been flying under the radar

0:23

but they're doing some pretty incredible

0:25

things so let's get right into talking

0:26

about this right after i mentioned that

0:28

you should check out the programs on

0:29

building your wealth link down below

0:30

with a coupon code expiring when my

0:32

birthday comes up i'll be 30 soon so

0:34

check those programs out price will be

0:36

going up on those programs on building

0:37

your wealth okay look first update that

0:40

we've got as the following electric

0:42

vehicles there's a fun fact here killed

0:44

1.5

0:46

million barrels per day of oil demand in

0:50

2021.

0:52

now even though investing in oil has

0:55

been phenomenal over the past a year

0:57

because commodity prices especially

0:59

energy prices are up 30 to 40 percent

1:01

oil natural gas and they've only

1:03

recently started inflecting the downside

1:05

this has led stocks like exxon mobil to

1:08

do extremely well

1:10

evs are taking a bite out of oil demand

1:13

1.5 million barrels per day in 2021

1:18

we're expecting that to substantially

1:20

balloon over the next of four to five

1:23

years

1:24

uh folks tesla the neo and then this uh

1:26

smack we're gonna talk about tesla tesla

1:29

won approval to build more test cars and

1:31

it's yet unfinished a german berlin

1:34

gigafactory now they are still waiting

1:36

for final permitting but they can now

1:38

test at manufacture as many as 2 000

1:41

electric vehicles at the factory this is

1:44

up from 250 previously they're not

1:47

allowed to sell these test test cars but

1:49

it does allow them to get the factory to

1:52

an operational state to train their

1:53

employees and to check for quality

1:55

control on these vehicles that they're

1:57

producing

1:58

now it's worth noting that the max

1:59

capacity for giga berlin could

2:01

potentially exceed 1 million vehicles in

2:04

the future but right now we're expected

2:06

to go through phase one of 250 000

2:09

vehicles a year and then phase two of

2:11

500 000 vehicles per year the plant will

2:14

also have the uh the the capacity to

2:17

produce a 500 million cells totaling 50

2:20

gigawatt hours

2:22

a year when it's a fully operational

2:25

this is pretty incredible especially

2:27

since when we add this for tesla uh even

2:30

500 000 here plus about 600 000 at giga

2:33

shanghai plus 500 at fremont and growing

2:36

and the austin gigafactory we should

2:39

easily be at over 2 million deliveries

2:41

for tesla within the next year to 18

2:44

months at an annualized rate and we're

2:46

up from there

2:48

now regarding neo there's an interesting

2:50

update regarding battery swapping

2:53

chinese companies as companies

2:55

throughout china are expecting to build

2:58

over 8 000 battery swapping stations in

3:01

2022 and 26 000 by 2025. now remember

3:07

tesla used to try or used to have

3:10

battery swapping as as a prototype in

3:13

america they never ended up going

3:15

mainstream with battery swapping because

3:17

elon must believe that american

3:19

consumers don't want to swap their

3:20

batteries they want to be responsible

3:21

for their own battery they don't want

3:23

somebody else's battery and they'd

3:24

rather just use a supercharger because

3:26

it's fast enough now supercharging your

3:29

tesla instead could still take 40 to 50

3:32

minutes to fill up on average

3:34

battery swapping can take as little as

3:36

three minutes the problem is you've got

3:38

to build the stations you've got to have

3:40

more batteries that are charging and

3:42

then more batteries

3:43

on sort of in inventory basically to be

3:46

prepared for people to pick these

3:48

batteries up

3:49

and so

3:50

a lot of folks have had complaints about

3:52

battery swapping but i'll tell you if

3:54

china is planning on building 26 000

3:57

battery swapping units by 2025 that

4:01

tells us something now battery swapping

4:02

is probably here to stay neo is expected

4:05

to have 4 000 of these units or 15.3

4:09

percent of all of these units by 2025

4:12

the biggest though uh is actually this

4:14

company called alton which i don't

4:17

believe is a public company that's

4:18

a-u-l-t-o-n

4:20

and they are producing the vast majority

4:23

of these chargers uh compared to all of

4:25

the others like a geely also producing

4:28

alton expected to produce over 8 000 or

4:31

over 30

4:32

of these uh battery swapping stations

4:36

not expecting to see these swapping

4:37

stations in the united states though who

4:39

knows that could change when and if neo

4:41

finally delivers vehicles in america

4:44

right now it seems like they're focusing

4:45

on the european market especially norway

4:48

which has an extremely high ev adoption

4:50

rate right folks now let's talk about

4:52

this back that has definitely had some

4:55

massive pain on the charts this is a

4:58

stack that well 10 par value ran all the

5:01

way up to 31

5:04

in january of 2021 it today sits at

5:07

about 10

5:09

just recently in the last couple weeks

5:10

at a low of eight dollars and 26 cents

5:12

and the company we're talking about is a

5:14

two billion dollar company and it is a

5:16

company that is potentially slated to go

5:19

to the moon

5:20

especially following the passage of the

5:22

bipartisan infrastructure plan and the

5:23

implementation of five billion dollars

5:26

in investments into folks

5:28

electric buses

5:30

proterra is the company it was a merger

5:33

between the arc-like spac and proterra

5:36

and proterra is now a public company

5:38

again trading for about ten dollars

5:40

roughly its back par value

5:42

lockups for the company are not expected

5:44

to expire uh at least the espaka lockups

5:47

until the company trades over twenty

5:50

dollars so some insulation here from

5:52

lockups and proterra estimates that

5:55

their current addressable market is over

5:57

260 billion dollars

5:59

is selling

6:00

electric buses especially since states

6:03

like california are required to con

6:06

convert to completely zero emission

6:08

vehicles by 2040 so electric bus is

6:11

likely uh to be the uh the vehicle of

6:14

choice for uh for city buses and school

6:16

buses but this also includes currently

6:18

cities like new york city chicago and

6:21

seattle

6:23

proterra

6:24

conducts about 80 percent of their

6:26

revenue by selling city buses and the

6:29

other 20 percent is made up of chargers

6:32

and school buses at this point though

6:33

this dynamic could change they only

6:35

delivered five vehicles in quarter three

6:38

of 2021 we'll see what q4 numbers look

6:40

like when earnings come out but they are

6:42

expecting 407 million in revenue in

6:47

two 2022

6:48

means they're really only selling for

6:49

about five to six times 2022 sales

6:53

relatively low especially compared to

6:56

when the spec merger was conducted and

6:58

some of the euphoria we've seen on the

6:59

chart previously

7:01

they're expecting 784 million or nearly

7:04

a doubling from 2022 in 2023

7:07

that would put you at a price to sales

7:09

ratio of about three out to 2023 no

7:13

current path to profitability and that's

7:16

because the company is spending money

7:18

substantially trying to

7:20

expand their business operations they do

7:22

have over 600 million dollars available

7:24

in cash currently burning about 50 to 60

7:27

million dollars per quarter uh that

7:29

gives them a nice run rate of about uh

7:32

potentially up to a couple years uh in

7:35

in cash the company has two battery

7:37

production facilities as well right now

7:39

so they're taking a very tesla-esque

7:41

approach their current annual capacity

7:43

is about a

7:45

one gigawatt per hour or one

7:47

gigawatt-hour annual capacity they're

7:50

looking to build their third

7:51

multi-gigawatt facility so this will be

7:54

their third battery production facility

7:56

introducing an additional

7:57

multi-gigawatts of power

8:00

uh this uh third facility is expected to

8:02

cost 76 million dollars to get up off of

8:04

the ground so

8:05

some cash headwinds could be coming for

8:07

the company as they continue to build

8:08

out factories uh by comparison tesla

8:10

does produce about 38 to 39 gigawatt

8:13

hours they're working on getting over to

8:15

50. pradera proterra excuse me also

8:17

provides chargers for commercial vehicle

8:19

operators and really their goal is to

8:21

create a mini ev ecosystem and this is

8:23

pretty much the goal of any electric

8:25

vehicle company when you look at a

8:26

rivien they're trying to get their

8:28

customers to use their chargers they're

8:29

charging products to buy their charging

8:31

services at charging and destination

8:33

chargers throughout this is this is a

8:35

very common additional revenue model uh

8:37

for evs so nothing super proprietary

8:40

here

8:41

their chargers charge at about 250

8:43

kilowatts uh per uh per hour that's

8:45

about the same speed as the fastest

8:48

tesla superchargers

8:50

they uh their their lithium ion

8:52

batteries are expected to be as large as

8:55

6 megawatt hours

8:57

which is about 60 times the size of a

9:01

battery that you would see in a regular

9:02

vehicle which does make sense given

9:05

the size of the vehicles that these are

9:07

going in the uh average weight of a city

9:10

bus by the way just just for comparison

9:13

is somewhere between 25 000

9:15

and 40 000

9:18

pounds that's about 10x the weight of uh

9:22

of a regular vehicle and makes sense you

9:24

can carry about 10x the amount of people

9:27

uh but substantially larger battery

9:29

sizes to really keep those ranges going

9:31

and get these vehicles moving throughout

9:33

the day now in october they also

9:35

announced that they were considering

9:37

using electric school buses to turn them

9:40

into electricity generators during the

9:42

day to basically provide power to the

9:44

grid when school buses aren't being used

9:46

and potentially during midday

9:48

electricity usage so this is kind of an

9:50

interesting opportunity for potentially

9:52

school districts to invest in these

9:53

electric school buses and then be able

9:55

to park them in such a way that they're

9:57

actually feeding power

10:00

back to the grid and offsetting some of

10:01

the energy cost of let's say air

10:03

conditioning uh in schools here's just

10:05

an example of a proterra branded

10:08

school bus you've got the proterra

10:10

charging systems here bi-directional

10:12

power capabilities uh so again being

10:14

able to support the grid here are just

10:16

some examples of the proterra electric

10:18

buses and really interesting charging

10:20

system where essentially the bus can

10:22

drive under a charger and almost like uh

10:25

like an electric monorail in a city or

10:27

maybe not even a monorail more more just

10:29

like a an electric street car and say

10:31

san francisco where you've got these

10:33

these overhead lines that are charging

10:36

or powering uh the streetcars here's an

10:39

example where proterra has uh charging

10:42

stations that you could just drive under

10:43

and then the vehicle charges uh by

10:45

making contact with the charging units

10:48

here

10:49

so uh overall proterra is is something

10:52

some folks are beginning to speculate uh

10:55

might be hit with a rotation here though

10:57

you got to remember this is a small cap

10:59

when you're under five bill you're

11:01

relatively small under two bill is

11:03

technically the definition of small cap

11:05

though that continues to shift and a

11:06

round two bill that makes them a prime

11:08

target for hedging for short sellers

11:10

right now the company has a current

11:12

short interest of six point three seven

11:14

percent that is up from the low four

11:16

percent and just four weeks ago so

11:19

you've definitely seen an increase in

11:20

the shorts and this could be one of the

11:22

things that is depressing the stock so

11:24

you do have some potential capital calls

11:27

coming up as they expand their battery

11:28

facilities and they expand their

11:30

production you have a risk they're not

11:32

producing they're not a profitable

11:33

company so it's very easy for algorithms

11:35

to sell this company off but it's at

11:37

such a low level that folks are

11:39

wondering two billion dollars for an

11:41

electric vehicle manufacturer that could

11:43

benefit quite well off the bipartisan

11:45

infrastructure package

11:46

seems quite fair and quite interesting

11:49

you've got the vertical group projecting

11:51

that this is a 40 per share company in

11:53

2025 that would be a 4x by 2025 with a

11:56

fair value they believe of 25

11:59

today which is about 20 times 2025

12:03

ebitda uh and that uh that compares to

12:06

the russell 2000 which trades for about

12:09

17 at times 2021 ebitda additionally its

12:13

lockups ended 120 days and 180 days

12:16

after the merger that occurred on june

12:18

12th so we shouldn't have a lockup

12:20

headwinds which potentially means the

12:22

price could be lower because of lockups

12:25

that have already expired which could

12:27

potentially again create another

12:28

opportunity to get in on proterra so

12:31

there you have an ev update if you found

12:32

this video helpful consider sharing this

12:34

and of course check out the programs on

12:35

building your wealth link down below

12:36

thanks so much bye
