0:01

hey everyone me kevin here coming to you

0:02

with a market update on what the heck is

0:04

going on market why is the market

0:06

softening why are we seeing 10-year

0:07

treasury yields go down again they were

0:09

starting to go up we're now at a 10-year

0:11

treasury sitting at 1.243 we're seeing

0:14

crypto fall we see the indices down a

0:16

lot of things down right now i want to

0:17

break down exactly what's going on we've

0:19

got multiple things going on we're going

0:20

to talk about china delta afghanistan

0:23

the fed we got tesla to talk about we're

0:25

going to talk about crypto suddenly

0:26

tanking as well so we have to talk about

0:28

all these things here so uh number one

0:30

let's go ahead and quickly start with

0:31

china things are starting to slow in

0:32

china now part of this has to do with

0:34

delta which we'll talk dealt in just a

0:35

moment but part of it is just maybe when

0:38

you have a big boom after a pandemic you

0:40

get a little bit of softening again in

0:42

the market and this could be a precursor

0:43

for what to expect in america which

0:45

could mean maybe we're not going to be

0:46

seeing those crazy beats anymore in 2022

0:49

we get a little bit of a softer sideways

0:50

trading market take a look at this

0:52

retail sales in china in july were

0:54

expected to come in at 11.5 percent came

0:56

in at 8.5 so you had a miss still a good

0:58

number but it's a miss production same

1:01

thing 7.8 expected came in at 6.4 so you

1:04

start seeing kind of the slowdown in uh

1:06

in the market this is something that

1:08

we're going to see and we've kind of

1:10

already been seeing most of 2021 with

1:12

the exception of like the s p 500 which

1:14

is

1:15

straight up and so is google google's

1:17

been doing an amazing performing stock

1:19

in the portfolio but really broadly a

1:21

lot of stocks a lot of higher value

1:22

stocks backs really trading sideways or

1:25

down lately and part of it is because of

1:27

this this fear of slowing growth and

1:28

we're seeing that happen in china so now

1:31

the data is coming out and so this is

1:33

headline news and uh and that certainly

1:35

hurts our stock market as well

1:37

delta obviously one of the reasons we

1:39

could be seeing this slowing uh you've

1:41

got hospitals in texas complaining that

1:43

they're out of icu beds you uh did have

1:45

a record case count since our last

1:47

coveted winter come in this saturday

1:50

which would be a report of friday's

1:51

numbers we are seeing the numbers start

1:53

to slow in fact some doctors like dr

1:55

scott scott

1:57

the former fda commissioner he mentioned

1:59

that we're starting to see sort of a

2:01

flattening or maybe we've hit like sort

2:03

of peak delta if you will uh which would

2:05

be very good if we've hit peak delta we

2:06

want this to kind of go away we want to

2:08

see what happened in the uk happen again

2:10

uh or it happened in the united states

2:12

although in the uk you'll see the

2:13

numbers went up

2:15

and then we kind of fell off that

2:16

exponential growth but we still are at

2:19

an elevated level even in the uk so a

2:21

lot of uncertainties still uh still to

2:23

be had regarding delta obviously third

2:25

thing to consider afghanistan is taking

2:27

up all of the news right now and it

2:29

makes sense people are climbing onto

2:30

airplanes to hang into the hang on to

2:32

the under cargo of planes and then when

2:35

these planes take off people are falling

2:36

down to their death in afghanistan

2:38

they're trying to escape with taliban

2:39

control in afghanistan folks are fleeing

2:42

uh disaster does that i mean people are

2:44

getting executed outside of their homes

2:46

in afghanistan there's some media that's

2:49

being allowed to be portrayed and and uh

2:51

the taliban is trying to

2:53

convey that don't worry everything's

2:55

under control here meanwhile in in you

2:57

know in the alleys people are getting

2:58

executed it's it's a big problem uh

3:01

we've got now essentially got this

3:02

potential of an entire terrorist country

3:05

uh in in the middle east again which

3:08

which uh was eliminated over the last uh

3:10

20 years and uh it was actually

3:12

pseudo-democratic for uh you know sure

3:14

maybe it wasn't the most stable but

3:16

obviously given how the taliban has

3:18

searched in but this is a problem uh and

3:20

this kind of

3:21

geopolitical uncertainty or this fear of

3:23

oh my gosh how many more troops are we

3:25

going to have to send afghanistan these

3:27

are things that are going to weigh on

3:28

the market and they're going to lead to

3:29

more

3:30

fear uh and we know what fear

3:32

uncertainty and doubt does prices go

3:33

down want some more fear uncertainty now

3:36

look at the fed jerome powell talks

3:37

tomorrow he's got a town hall tomorrow

3:39

i'll be covering this ah now they're so

3:41

loud again i'll be covering that

3:43

tomorrow we've got uh fed minutes coming

3:45

out from their last fomc meeting coming

3:47

out on wednesday not really expecting

3:49

anything from the minutes the minutes

3:51

are rarely a catalyst but we've also got

3:53

the jackson hole symposium coming up

3:55

next week and all of these things

3:57

related to jerome powell are all going

3:59

to be helping us understand all right

4:01

we've hit have we hit substantial

4:02

further progress are we going to taper

4:04

in september october or we're going to

4:06

start doing that kind of like we're

4:07

expecting but more importantly and this

4:09

is what i think the market is going to

4:10

pay attention to more than whether or

4:12

not we're going to taper because now

4:13

we're kind of expecting the tapers

4:15

after the taper how long are we going to

4:18

wait to raise rates reason generally

4:20

markets are fearful of tapering is

4:22

solely because it's a precursor to rates

4:25

going up sure when you taper there's

4:28

less cheap money flowing around in the

4:29

markets but i think the market's less

4:30

concerned about that we have plenty of

4:32

cash sitting on the sidelines right now

4:34

uh and really uh that's why we're also

4:36

starting to see in my opinion crypto

4:38

start going up but we're going to talk

4:39

about crypto in a moment because i first

4:42

want to talk about tesla okay tesla is

4:44

now getting officially investigated uh

4:46

by uh uh by the us government for uh 30

4:50

crashes into emergency vehicles

4:52

allegedly on autopilot

4:54

11 crashes that actually started this

4:56

this investigation uh started back in

4:59

because when i first heard this headline

5:00

i have to say i thought these were all

5:01

going to be like old crashes like 2014

5:04

16 things but i was wrong actually the

5:06

11 crashes that spawned this

5:08

investigation started january 22nd 2018

5:11

and the most recent crash was on july 10

5:14

2021 that's like your most recent

5:17

software here at tesla which is kind of

5:19

scary but anyway san diego driver

5:21

apparently intoxicated uh allegedly

5:24

crashed into the back of a stopped chp

5:26

car supposedly on autopilot

5:29

so that's not good that's not good that

5:30

happened on like 309 a.m so something uh

5:33

pretty hot we've also hit see uh cb i

5:35

just actually got an alert here cboe

5:36

volatility index just hit its highest

5:38

level since august 5th we're at 17.65 uh

5:42

which is since august 5th i mean this

5:43

one that was like 11 days ago but

5:45

obviously we've got more volatility in

5:46

the market today we get a lot of things

5:47

going on at the same time this mark the

5:50

more this morning when the market opened

5:52

crypto all of a sudden started selling

5:54

off this came shortly after uh aida a

5:56

coin that we've been buying in in uh and

5:58

talking about buying in the stocks and

6:00

psychology money course since it was

6:01

around a dollar it was an easy double

6:03

here within the last month which is

6:05

incredible but ada became the third

6:07

largest crypto which is really really

6:08

cool at a price of two dollars and 12

6:10

cents per coin so now uh and that's my

6:12

portfolio actually is bitcoin ethereum

6:14

and ada uh ada cardano

6:17

many different ways people like to

6:19

define it but anyway uh yeah look

6:22

i i'm very excited about ada and i'll

6:24

take advantage of of decline so if we

6:26

get more declines here i'll send out

6:28

more alerts for uh buying crypto because

6:30

i'm still in the position of rcc folks

6:33

real estate cash and crypto right now

6:35

crypto i'm still a little skeptical on

6:37

though because if we do have a downward

6:38

inflection in inflation i i really want

6:41

to see how crypto ends up reacting uh so

6:44

you know i'm still not sort of all in on

6:46

how much i've got allocated for would

6:49

i'd be willing to be all in on crypto

6:51

but i mean look folks we've got a lot of

6:53

drama happening in the markets right now

6:55

afghanistan is going to cover the

6:56

headlines in in most media over the next

6:59

i would imagine a few weeks here

7:01

and joe biden's response is going to be

7:03

a big factor for uh how the market

7:06

prices in the potential for

7:08

you know setting more troops to

7:09

afghanistan again

7:11

these these sorts of uncertainties do

7:13

hit the market especially since wartime

7:14

efforts are oftentimes associated with

7:16

inflation we all know that inflation

7:18

associates with the market but uh

7:21

slowing down in china an increase of

7:23

delta the federal reserve talking these

7:25

are times of uncertainty in my opinion

7:28

times of uncertainty are wonderful times

7:30

to get into the market especially when

7:31

you see softening pricing i as always

7:34

just caution stay away from leap call

7:37

options they're very very tempting but i

7:39

would stay away from them in this kind

7:40

of uh market so this kind of gives you

7:42

an update as to what the heck is going

7:44

on there's a lot going on in fairness

7:47

there's a lot uh and so i would uh i

7:49

would stay cautious i wouldn't get too

7:50

excited to buy the dip

7:52

until you get to that pricing where

7:54

you're like yeah this is where i have to

7:56

strike and in case you ever want uh

7:58

alerts on when i'm buying or selling

8:00

something make sure to check out the

8:01

program link down below on stocks and

8:02

psychology money you could use that

8:04

forty percent of coupon code folks we'll

8:06

see in the next one thanks for watching
