How to Finish a Cornhole Board
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Hey guys, how's it going? This is Dylan from Slick Woody's Cornhole Company. Today we're going to be talking about
finishing your board with polyurethane
It's a common substance. That's used to protect your board and add a little more slickness to it and
As you can see we're using a diy board these are available on the Slick Woody's website.
So for this we're going to be using an oil-based polyurethane as well as a paint brush
It's recommended that you use a foam brush, but for our sake we decided to use a paint brush
alright, let's get started.
Because we're using a oil-based polyurethane
It leaves more of an amber glow, if you were to use a water-based polyurethane, It would leave more of a clear coat
Which you might want to consider, depending on how you want your board to look.
Make sure you use vertical strokes when painting your board and
make sure you get every spot because if you leave a few spots unfinished it could really affect the gameplay
so we let our board dry for a few hours and
We came out and sanded it.
Now it's important to note that you're supposed to put five to ten coats of poly on your board to finish it
and then sand it down, and then add the last layer, so here we are adding the last layer of poly to our board
Alright, let's let's see how it dried
It should feel nice and smooth just like that.
Alright guys, thanks for tuning in be sure to tune in every week
We'll have some more Slick Woody's tips videos coming out and have a good day
