Protect Your Peace: Avoid These 3 People
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Three types of people you should never
share your emotional struggles with. And
the third one is the worst. Number one,
the minimizer. You say, "I feel
anxious." And they say, "Everyone does.
Don't be dramatic." Uh, you say, "This
hurt me." And they say, "It's not a big
deal." These people don't mean harm, but
they lack emotional depth. They train
themselves to suppress emotion. So, they
end up shaming you for expressing yours.
Number two, the competitor. Every time
you open up, they one up. Their pain is
always bigger, louder, and longer, so
yours gets dismissed again. These people
make your struggle feel invisible.
Number three, the gossiper. They act
like a safe space, kind, curious, and
warm, but later your story becomes their
conversation. They trade your
vulnerability for sounding relevant. And
here's what you should observe. If they
gossip about others to you, they will
gossip about you to others. So remember,
not everyone deserves your
vulnerability. You don't owe people
access to your inner world. Share only
where there is safety, compassion and
respect.
