FULL TRANSCRIPT

0:00

hey everyone me Kevin here wow things

0:01

could have gone really bad yesterday

0:03

yesterday Russian made missiles as 300

0:05

missiles landed on a farm in Poland

0:08

killing two people the first attack or

0:12

at least perceived attack of EU and NATO

0:15

territory following the invasion of

0:18

Ukraine by Russia this was really bad

0:21

because it led to a lot of immediate

0:23

calls from folks saying that's it

0:25

Article 5 an attack on one is Attack on

0:28

all and that would essentially drag the

0:31

United States and the North Atlantic a

0:34

Treaty Organization into war or a

0:37

potentially into defense mode on the

0:39

border of uh Poland and Ukraine

0:43

potentially leading to aggression

0:44

directly between Russia and NATO and

0:47

therefore potentially World War III

0:50

however we now have a lot more

0:52

information yesterday while Poland

0:54

considered a calling on Article 4 of the

0:58

NATO guidelines which is essentially a

1:01

consultation uh call where you say all

1:04

right hey we've got a problem let's all

1:06

get together and let's come up with a

1:08

solution here which is the smart thing

1:10

to do you don't want one country just

1:11

unilaterally going that's it Article

1:13

Five you even had china coming out

1:15

yesterday who's not a part of a NATO

1:17

saying okay let's all be calm here and

1:20

when China comes out and says okay let's

1:22

all be calm you you know it's because

1:24

things escalated to a serious level

1:26

yesterday so uh the uh Article 4 has

1:32

been called on regularly usually it gets

1:34

used for concerns around a turkey

1:38

recently it's been used for concerns

1:40

obviously because of Ukraine and Russia

1:43

now did Poland end up invoking Article 4

1:46

the consultation article no Poland found

1:49

that it is not necessary they found that

1:52

this attack was accidental and that this

1:55

was not an attack it was unintentioned

1:58

and Not only was it unintentioned it was

2:00

not by Russia it was by Ukrainian air

2:03

defense systems using those good old old

2:07

school s-300 Rockets those things are

2:09

really fast by the way let's understand

2:11

a little bit more about the s-300s and

2:13

the location of these impacts and why

2:16

these were not cruise missiles from

2:18

Russia let's get into that right now oh

2:21

and quick note remember there's a 60 off

2:22

coupon code linked down below for the

2:24

programs they're building your wealth

2:25

okay here we go now where these missiles

2:26

landed is actually very important these

2:28

missiles have a range of about a 95

2:31

miles Max but Warsaw and the small town

2:35

where these missiles landed is about at

2:39

least 150 miles away from the border

2:42

with Belarus meaning these missiles more

2:45

likely came from the border of Poland

2:48

and Ukraine and this this led to an

2:51

investigation into okay well why are

2:53

missiles like this being used and why

2:55

are they ever used in the first place

2:56

well generally they're actually used to

2:59

counter-attack cruise missiles cruise

3:02

missiles have a very long range of

3:04

thousand to thousands of miles and

3:07

cruise missiles can be launched by

3:09

Russia then they could in theory fly all

3:12

the way across Ukraine and land in

3:15

Poland but those were not the missile

3:17

fragments that were found and therefore

3:20

well in addition to other investigations

3:22

of course but just providing more color

3:24

into the type of missile here polish the

3:27

Polish government and as well as the

3:29

United States the United States

3:30

apparently a leader in this

3:31

investigation have come to the

3:33

conclusion that these missiles were

3:34

actually fired by Ukrainian Defense

3:38

Forces these s-300 missiles are

3:40

regularly used as a surface-to-air

3:42

missile defense so in other words it's

3:44

like oh no there's a fast cruise missile

3:47

coming let's launch an S 300 to counter

3:50

attack now the s300 is really fast they

3:52

can get up to Mach 6 and they can catch

3:55

a lot of uh a lot of incoming slower

3:57

missiles that have a longer range and so

3:59

it's pretty incredible to see some of

4:01

the the detail in the Weaponry that's

4:03

used but it's terrible that two people

4:05

had to lose their lives for this and

4:07

also for no to cruise missile generally

4:08

has a speed of about two to three Mach

4:10

whereas those ballistic missiles are

4:13

somewhere around six so sometimes twice

4:16

to three times as fast anyway these uh s

4:18

300 Rockets have been concluded again to

4:22

come from Ukrainian air defenses

4:24

remember Russia has been shellacking

4:27

infrastructure within Ukraine it's

4:28

terrible half a Kiev was without power

4:31

yesterday some pretty critical

4:32

infrastructures getting hit and Germany

4:35

is indicating pretty strong restraint as

4:38

usual suggesting there's no way we're

4:40

instituting a no-fly zone it seems like

4:42

most countries have come to the

4:44

conclusion that no this was clearly

4:46

unintentioned by Russia and in fact if

4:50

it were Russia and it wasn't Russia we

4:53

believe it was now Ukraine and it was

4:56

their air defenses against the Russian

4:58

attack uh Putin actually praised this

5:00

and uh appraised the Restraint of all of

5:04

the countries which I think is exactly

5:06

what we need right now because nobody

5:07

wants to go into World War III you know

5:10

obviously we need this war to end and we

5:12

need some kind of negotiated and as soon

5:15

as possible in my opinion for Ukraine

5:17

and Russia so people's lives can stop

5:20

being lost especially innocent civilian

5:22

lives it's terrible what's happening and

5:25

it needs to end so what's come as a

5:26

result of this well it's not great

5:28

because you've got Finland rattling the

5:30

saber a little bit and this isn't

5:32

spectacular because Finland is a NATO

5:35

applicant but they also sit right on the

5:37

border of Russia and they say they are

5:39

militarily prepared I mean so was Poland

5:42

yesterday they scrambled Jets and raised

5:44

their military alertness level but

5:46

they've since calmed down and the

5:47

Kremlin has actually praised NATO's

5:49

response as balanced they've also

5:52

praised the United States which is quite

5:53

interesting but Finland has taken a

5:55

little bit more of an aggressive

5:56

approach and that's not ideal because

5:58

again Finland sits right on the border

5:59

of Russia and they're trying to get into

6:01

nato in fact some people already call

6:03

them a de facto NATO country and that's

6:06

not what Russia wants Russia wants a

6:08

buffer between eight and NATO and this

6:12

makes sense you don't want your

6:14

strongest Global adversary sitting right

6:16

on your border when Ukraine was first

6:19

invaded by Russia a lot of Russian

6:21

citizens actually fled Russia and

6:24

obviously Ukraine and many of them who

6:26

fled Russia went to Finland it's because

6:28

there are trains that connect Finland

6:30

and Russia they're really close together

6:32

and one of the things to remember about

6:34

buffer zones is what I the analogy I

6:36

always like to use and that's North

6:37

Korea see North Korea according to the

6:39

United States is a state sponsor of

6:42

terrorism that designation was filed in

6:44

1988 and since then the you know when

6:47

and even before that but but certainly

6:49

since then and they have not been a

6:52

friend of the United States as they've

6:53

been an enemy well there's a saying the

6:57

enemy of my enemy is my friend and when

7:02

you look at that from a Chinese

7:03

perspective you might say oh China

7:05

actually kind of likes that North Korea

7:08

is not too happy with the United States

7:10

and vice versa because it creates a

7:12

buffer between the United States is

7:14

power and China look at a map North

7:18

Korea sits squarely sandwiched between

7:20

South Korea to the South duh Japan is

7:23

below that obviously an island South and

7:25

and east of that a little bit and above

7:28

that you have North Korea above South

7:30

Korea but above North Korea you have

7:32

China so North Korea is really this area

7:36

that separates the United States and

7:39

their military bases in South Korea and

7:41

Japan from China and China likes that

7:44

sort of buffer but that's the sort of

7:45

buffer that Russia is really looking for

7:48

in Ukraine this is why they're very

7:50

fearful about the expansion of NATO and

7:52

remember Finland sits right on the

7:55

border of Russia and so this sort of

7:57

saber rattling by uh Finland probably

8:00

not the most ideal in this circumstance

8:02

anyway this gives you a little bit of

8:04

color into what's happening make sure to
