NEW Gas Charger vs M4 Comp vs RS3 // DRAG RACE

What happens when Dodge releases a new

muscle car with the exact same engine

style as the latest BMW M car, a

twinturbo inline [music] 6, but with

more horsepower. Surely it would be

silly to try to go toe-to-toe with the

Germans, right? You'd probably worry

that people might put them side by side

in a drag race. And maybe they'd even

bring out a smaller, way less powerful

German car with fewer cylinders [music]

as a bit of a litmus test. It would be

insane to think that people wouldn't be

curious what would happen here. What if

the Dodge loses? That would be terrible.

Well, we certainly wouldn't do it.

Look at that. The most powerful car of

the three in this weird cross-section of

enthusiast cars. It's a mishmash. We

know. Just want to place that charger.

Just trying to get my head around it cuz

it's so heavy. And those turbochargers

might as well be party poppers on the

back of an Abram's tank. All right, I

got everything set up. It took me a

while, but I got it figured out. There

is a drag mode, but you have to double

click this drive mode button and then

toggle really quickly and you'll get

drag and track. So, I've got it set up.

So, I got my launch control set at 3200

RPM. I've got all-wheel drive. This is

the best chance a Charger has ever had

against cars like these.

I am the slower of the three cars in

this race.

It's so Oh, there goes the M4.

a rocket. And there's the charger in my

wing mirror.

I did not think I'd stay that close to

the M4.

so cheeky with their launches. I wonder

if that Charger's got more in it on a

roll.

But when did horsepower take the lead

And it didn't matter. [laughter]

foe. And that's not the Hellcat, if

there is one coming. That's just the

Scat Pack, which and I think

that that's much closer than I think a

normal V8 Scat Pack from the previous

gen would have been to an RS3.

I don't know. I don't know what to make

about this.

It's It's uh It feels like it needs some

work no matter what you do.

Maybe it just needs a V8.

I'll just go I don't care cuz it's fun.

buck to beaver grill on it.

>> And it's so good. It is not grown on me.

It has not grown on me. The sedan maybe

a bit. That one. No.

Well, whether the M4 has grown on Thomas

or not, it's clearly the performer of

the three here with the Audi in second.

So, yeah. While the BMW and Audi are

German caring harder than ever, the

[music] Dodge attempts the same feat and

falls short. Just like Humpty Dumpty, it

feels like it needs putting back

together again. [music] and it's
