Childhood trauma silently turns into
adult addiction. I'm not talking about
alcohol or smoking. People with
childhood trauma are actually addicted
to relief. See, maybe your parents
fought every night. Uh maybe you were
bullied and nobody protected you. Maybe
you were uh emotionally neglected or
abused. Whatever it was, you as a child
grew up in survival mode. And when a
child grows up like that, the brain
doesn't develop the way it should. The
prefrontal cortex, the part responsible
for decision making, impulse control,
and self-awareness, it stays
underdeveloped. And the emotional brain,
the lyic system, stays overactive. That
wiring makes your brain constantly
search for escape. You crave anything
that gives relief, even if it is just
for a few minutes. So now as an adult,
you scroll endlessly. You overeat, you
binge watch, you drink, you gamble, you
run from one relief to another, calling
it laziness, weakness, lack of
willpower. But the truth is that pain
didn't disappear. It just got disguised
as personality. And if you want to break
addiction, we have to stop asking what's
wrong with you and start asking what
