0:00

everyone meet kevin here this is

0:01

essentially worst case scenario for

0:03

afghanistan and this is what i've been

0:04

concerned about i've been concerned i've

0:06

been talking to friends family we've

0:07

talked about it on youtube that once we

0:09

pull out the odds are we're gonna go

0:12

right back to suicide bombings well

0:14

folks today is the day

0:16

today so far we have had upwards of now

0:19

three

0:20

bombings

0:22

outside the kabul airport in afghanistan

0:25

last night the united states embassy in

0:28

kabul said there was a credible threat

0:30

incredible terror threat that is and to

0:33

stay away from the airport

0:34

the united kingdom said there was a

0:37

highly lethal terror threat

0:39

uh hours before the attack

0:41

and australia also issued an alert

0:44

saying that a

0:46

credible threat was imminent and that

0:48

people should leave immediately

0:50

unfortunately because people are

0:53

struggling to escape afghanistan people

0:55

did not leave the airport and now we

0:57

have had at least two explosions with a

1:00

possible third explosion and 12 u.s

1:03

service members have died including 11

1:06

marines and one

1:08

navy medic

1:10

in the last 18 months

1:12

before this disastrous withdrawal we

1:14

have not lost a single

1:17

military

1:18

member

1:19

so this is a really sad and uh dark day

1:22

now we understand that uh our prior

1:25

administration had agreements with the

1:27

taliban

1:29

but the reality is the taliban is not

1:33

solely to blame here

1:35

the expectation is that these suicide

1:37

bombings

1:39

occurred

1:40

either under isis k guidance or under al

1:44

qaeda guidance

1:45

we're not exactly sure yet

1:47

but the reality is clear

1:50

the

1:50

taliban do not have control

1:53

no control

1:55

there is a deal currently in place that

1:57

the taliban will provide folks a safe

2:00

passage to the airport

2:03

and american military members along with

2:06

nato allies have been providing

2:08

whatever passage they could to create

2:10

safe passage and safe convoys to get

2:13

people into the airport

2:15

like american citizens or citizens of

2:17

nato countries or

2:20

contractors military contractors

2:22

reporters

2:23

but

2:24

the taliban here are completely failing

2:27

and unfortunately

2:29

when these explosions happened more

2:31

chaos was evident taliban were shooting

2:34

into the sky freaking out we've got

2:37

about 60 people in total killed again

2:39

about 12 american service members 140

2:42

people plus wounded

2:44

there are people and i won't show images

2:47

but you could just look at hashtag

2:50

afghanistan on on twitter's video or

2:52

images section and it's it's horrible

2:54

you'll see

2:56

bodies being thrown into

2:58

rivers

2:59

bodies everywhere blood everywhere

3:01

people running with injured babies

3:04

victims being carried away in in

3:06

wheelbarrows

3:07

uh it's it's complete

3:09

chaos

3:11

and lawlessness and and just

3:13

uh

3:14

it's sad it's really really sad

3:18

and it's not as if the taliban doesn't

3:20

have enough equipment

3:22

the taliban just took over an entire

3:24

country

3:25

full of hundreds of humvees

3:28

helicopters

3:29

mostly american-made military equipment

3:32

such as boeing surveillance drones

3:34

rocket launchers

3:37

military grade

3:38

m4 carbines

3:40

uniforms bullet profess you name it

3:43

and

3:44

there is such a lack of coordination of

3:46

taliban leadership uh this is where i

3:48

agree with joe biden that the taliban

3:50

are a quote ragtag force

3:53

that there really is no security or

3:55

stability here

3:56

and now the big question is is the

3:58

united states just going to

4:00

end this withdrawal sooner

4:03

or how many more people have to die

4:06

trying to bring control and stability

4:08

back to afghanistan and is that even

4:10

possible

4:11

look it's easy to say at this point and

4:14

i've said it myself that

4:16

it would have been much easier to leave

4:18

a small contingent

4:20

of of troops to maintain stability in

4:22

afghanistan to provide that leadership

4:24

and guidance for the afghan military

4:27

but that's all hindsight what matters

4:29

now is is what we do going forward

4:32

joe biden talks about

4:34

strategic attacks

4:36

on

4:36

isis or

4:38

whatever

4:39

well how do you do that

4:41

how do you identify who's a civilian and

4:44

who's isis sure we've got cia we've got

4:47

intelligence but really

4:50

i mean there are so many

4:52

isis sympaths sympaths

4:55

in uh afghanistan same thing with the

4:57

taliban

4:58

i mean you're you're in a sea of of uh

5:01

if you put goggles on

5:03

that told you where your enemies are you

5:05

would just be in a sea of red because

5:07

you're just surrounded by

5:09

a taliban and

5:11

isis

5:13

and how do you distinguish between the

5:14

two

5:16

this is a really big

5:18

bad problem

5:20

you know suicide vests

5:22

cost like 100 bucks there's plenty of

5:25

bomb material too and these explosions

5:27

are huge

5:28

they're massive explosions there's no

5:31

surviving these explosions when uh when

5:34

you're near them and there are plenty of

5:36

crowds especially uh around evacuation

5:39

points where it's not difficult for

5:41

uh a bomber just to walk in the middle

5:43

of a crowd it's so devastating and

5:46

horrible

5:47

people are refugees being attacked

5:50

and really it's it what it is is it's a

5:52

symbol it's uh

5:54

it's a stake

5:56

of

5:57

america's failure

5:59

that's what this is these these bombings

6:02

the bombers it's not in my opinion at

6:04

least it's not like the bombers are in

6:07

afghanistan saying you know what let's

6:09

go kill innocent men women and children

6:12

at the gates of the airport

6:15

it's

6:17

let's

6:18

show

6:19

how nobody has control over our region

6:21

that's really what this is it's the

6:23

opportunity to prove

6:25

that there is no leadership in

6:27

afghanistan

6:28

that this entire country

6:31

in my opinion is subject to falling to

6:34

the whims of anarchy

6:36

leaderless

6:37

tribal warfare

6:39

between

6:40

uncoordinated taliban militants

6:43

and various different terrorist groups

6:46

like

6:47

afghanistan or isis k

6:49

in other words i believe

6:51

the united states will leave afghanistan

6:54

by the august 31st deadline which is

6:56

jack's birthday

6:58

my son's birthday

6:59

he turns six

7:02

and uh

7:03

the united states will leave

7:05

we might even start seeing evacuations

7:07

pause sooner we saw that happen with

7:09

norway norway has paused evacuations

7:11

already given the crisis at uh

7:14

maybe

7:15

there'll be ways for people to escape to

7:17

borders and and get through uh

7:19

you know the border too i mean i don't

7:21

know where you've got pakistan

7:23

uh iran maybe you could get out of the

7:25

northern borders so it's gonna be

7:27

difficult for the united states i feel

7:29

like to coordinate with iran i mean

7:31

maybe they can coordinate with pakistan

7:33

but

7:35

it's just a mess this is massive

7:37

instability now one place that people

7:39

are fleeing to which is an area

7:43

where actually one of my campaign

7:45

rallies an iranian individual uh

7:47

mentioned that a lot of people are

7:49

fleeing too and i don't know anything

7:50

more than

7:51

than this

7:52

but uh and then i did i i shouldn't say

7:54

that i did a tiny little bit of research

7:57

and it does appear

7:59

that

8:00

rebels are are preparing to fight

8:03

the

8:04

taliban

8:06

in pancheer

8:08

p-a-n-j

8:09

s-h-i ear punch here and that a lot of

8:12

people are trying to escape to punch

8:14

here

8:15

but otherwise this is just uh this is a

8:17

devastating disaster now right now on

8:19

twitter you have where's joe biden

8:21

trending

8:22

i imagine he's he's in a situation room

8:24

trying to figure out exactly what's

8:25

going on but but i don't know that

8:28

i really don't have faith that

8:30

our military knows right now exactly

8:32

what's going on and that's not to say

8:34

it's the military's fault it's not to

8:35

say that they're not capable

8:37

it's just to say that

8:41

how when you have rogue individuals

8:43

wearing suicide vests

8:45

it's not like there's a country you can

8:46

attack

8:47

what we have is just a complete lack of

8:49

stability in this region and it's going

8:51

to lead to massive tensions especially

8:53

coming from a nuclear armed or

8:56

potentially to be clear-armed iran

8:59

in pakistan india

9:02

it's a mess it's it's a big mess it's

9:04

devastating i'm devastated to see this

9:07

happen it's heartbreaking

9:09

and and i am concerned that over the

9:12

next

9:14

well through the end of the year

9:15

especially christmas time or

9:17

thanksgiving time we're going to go back

9:20

to what it felt like 13 years ago in

9:23

2007 and 8 where every day it was like

9:26

you had a new headline

9:28

50 more people died at a suicide bombing

9:30

in a church 100 more people died at a

9:33

school 50 people died at a soccer game

9:37

and that's when we were there

9:40

i'm just worried it's going to get even

9:42

worse now and at some point

9:45

this could turn into another

9:47

another

9:48

war uh certainly you've got china and uh

9:52

and and russia trying to build relations

9:55

with the taliban but

9:56

again what what kind of coordinated

9:58

effort and leadership do you really have

10:00

are they really capable of running a

10:02

government or are they going to get run

10:04

over

10:05

by isis

10:07

and then the weapons

10:09

that now we essentially armed the afghan

10:12

army with

10:13

go from us

10:15

to

10:16

the taliban to then isis

10:19

yeah here we go suicide bombers now id'd

10:21

as isis fighters

10:25

oh

10:26

man this is uh it's a sad day

10:29

august

10:30

26th all right folks well

10:34

thank you so much for watching and we'll

10:36

see you again next time thanks
