you know we're not taught how to be
happy you know we're taught we're not
even taught our nervous system is
designed to survive
you have to think about it the brain
that you and I have is about 2 million
years old roughly and it hasn't altered
a huge amount in that time and the
number one focus is survival
so our brains are always looking for
what could go wrong what could be messed
up what could cost us what could we lose
and it used to be to protect us from a
saber-tooth tiger so we've learned to
fight or flight run from it or freeze
and open didn't notice it those are the
three patterns most people do under
stress they fight they flight or they
freeze and the problem is there is no
saber-toothed tiger anymore
so today we get freaked out like life
and death like what do people think
about us or were they right about us in
social media and don't get me wrong all
those are challenging things but they
get into survival if we don't learn to
run our brains our our brain is going to
make you survive it's not going to make
you happy your job is to create the
happiness in order to do that you have
to wake up and not be on automatic pilot
