0:00

holy smokes what is SoftBank doing with

0:02

open AI what does this have to do with

0:04

the whole AI race Nvidia drama Microsoft

0:08

meta we got to talk about it Apple

0:10

earnings in new crypto ETFs in we'll

0:14

talk about those we'll also talk about

0:17

some potential risk factors as well as

0:19

what's still going really well in the

0:22

economy right now let's get started

0:24

today on January 31st for news that

0:27

makes new money uh folks a quick

0:31

reminder it is January 31st which means

0:32

that trumponomics coupon code is

0:34

0:37

save a lot of money if you join today

0:40

you get lifetime access course member

0:48

for the alpha report but you'll get

0:50

course live uh live streams the trade

0:52

alerts starting Feb one options trading

0:55

ideas perspectives actual you name it

0:59

taxes Entre R preneurship sales

1:01

marketing this is a phenomenal product

1:04

and the amount of content that's in the

1:05

course is just getting started so go

1:07

check it out at me kevin.com email us if

1:08

you have questions at staff atme

1:09

kevin.com and for now let's get into the

1:12

topic of the video all right so with

1:14

that out of the way the SEC has approved

1:16

a part of an application for an ETF that

1:18

would track both Bitcoin and

1:20

ethereum this is sort of a prediction

1:22

that I made a couple years ago that in

1:24

the future we would actually have basket

1:26

ETFs and they're finally starting uh

1:28

this is really kind of think about I

1:30

mean this isn't a big prediction but

1:31

think about it like a almost like an S&P

1:33

500 but of the crypto world where you

1:36

know you don't have to pick which

1:38

cryptocurrency you want to invest in you

1:39

just throw a 100 bucks in and $20

1:42

automatically goes to salana and 10 goes

1:45

to do and 50 goes to bitcoin whatever

1:48

the allocations are right it's an

1:50

interesting start and it looks like

1:52

we'll be starting with Bitcoin and

1:53

ethereum though there was also a filing

1:56

for a doge ETF and the more you get

1:58

those individual ETF filed the more

2:01

likely it is that you're going to end up

2:02

getting more of these basket ETFs and

2:04

then of course you'll end up getting

2:05

more of the leveraged basket ETFs as

2:07

well like we have on the triple NASDAQ

2:09

you end up getting for the Triple

2:11

cryptos right anyway uh the corporate

2:13

buyback window is open which is actually

2:15

kind of bullish for the stock market the

2:17

corporate buyback window was mostly

2:19

closed for about the last 3 weeks 28% of

2:22

the corporate buyback window opened on

2:23

Monday 45% is open by next Monday and

2:26

60% by the end of next week this should

2:28

lead to about 7 billion a day of buying

2:32

support so in other words retail has to

2:35

payer hand to the tune of $7 billion a

2:38

day just to keep stocks where they

2:41

are kind of crazy depending on obviously

2:43

the BuyBacks and where those BuyBacks

2:45

are let's be real okay there's a company

2:47

called end phase I don't know if you've

2:48

ever heard about it you don't need to

2:50

know about it

2:51

anyway they buy back stock all the time

2:55

it doesn't

2:56

help anyway uh UBS by the way calls the

2:59

AI selloff this week troubling but

3:02

contained mostly because they see that

3:05

it's been contained heavily to uh Nvidia

3:08

and some of the more uh chip related

3:11

plays Super Micro arm uh AMD but the

3:15

broader sectors continue to expand uh in

3:18

part uh this is likely because what

3:20

we're seeing uh is this idea that well

3:24

first of all what SoftBank is doing with

3:26

open AI but also this idea that hey wait

3:29

a minute you know AI like what what deep

3:33

seek innovated is actually good for a

3:36

whole lot of people think about this for

3:38

a

3:39

moment and we talked about this La over

3:42

the weekend on on Monday as well but who

3:45

benefits when we end up having deep seek

3:49

winning and the answer is you do

3:52

everybody wins right like consumers win

3:57

startups win small companies that don't

4:00

yet have the money to pay for big

4:02

language learning bottles they win

4:05

there's a lot of winning that goes on

4:07

frankly when AI costs come down so now

4:12

what while deep seek is getting

4:13

investigated over how they potentially

4:15

got their Hands-On h100 chips through

4:18

shell companies in Singapore which isn't

4:20

really that big of a surprise uh what is

4:23

actually really exciting is hey you've

4:26

got a lot of people saying just don't

4:28

worry about it there's plent plenty of

4:30

opportunity like this isn't the AI

4:31

bubble popping in fact this could be the

4:34

unleashing of the beginning of AI

4:37

because a bunch of new companies can now

4:41

actually access training compute more

4:43

affordably now what is interesting is if

4:45

you look at the Google trends for deep

4:47

seek some people are saying deep seek

4:50

might be a flash in the pan and it'll

4:51

just be a moment of time or a moment in

4:53

time before you actually end up seeing

4:56

uh deep seek just gone entirely it's

4:58

still number one in the App Store but if

4:59

you look at the Google Trends here deep

5:01

seek was really only raining Supreme

5:03

there on about the 26th and 27th uh and

5:06

it's come down over to where we sit now

5:09

on January 31st hey that's coupon

5:11

expiration night uh anyway so uh does

5:14

this really mean anything for deep seek

5:15

no not really because it's not so much

5:18

that we need to use the Deep seek app

5:20

versus other apps it's the training

5:23

efficiency that came from it that could

5:25

end up being sort of a thorn in the side

5:27

to some of the chip makers that's it but

5:29

but that is again a benefit to companies

5:31

like Microsoft and meta and apple apple

5:34

obviously who just reported earnings uh

5:36

and other companies who want access to

5:38

artificial intelligence and quite

5:39

frankly I don't think the C you know the

5:42

you know Sun from SoftBank is you know

5:45

really heavily concerned I mean look at

5:47

this guy's house this is this guy's

5:49

house in Japan and uh now they're

5:51

offering to invest 43 billion do into

5:54

open AI at a valuation three times as

5:57

high as what the valuation was uh back

6:00

in uh 2023 when they first hit the scene

6:03

there was a valuation estimate of about

6:05

$105 billion now they're trying to raise

6:07

money at 300 billion which honestly

6:10

after the Deep seek moment I would

6:12

imagine that uh the the valuation would

6:14

have sunk on open Ai and even anthropic

6:18

because their ability to raise money has

6:20

actually gone down and so part of me

6:21

thinks that SoftBank is just so exposed

6:24

to AI uh and arm as another beneficiary

6:27

partnering with open AI right

6:30

that soft bank which owns a lot of arm

6:32

basically has to prop up open AI with

6:35

talk about a big funding round at a huge

6:38

valuation to prop up all their other

6:40

stocks call me Jaden but that's just

6:43

kind of what I think uh now In fairness

6:46

uh B OFA argues that uh there are this

6:49

is haret he's actually been pretty dang

6:52

bullish the last couple years he did

6:54

give a little bit of a warning though He

6:56

suggests hey look one of the reasons GDP

6:59

has outperformed so well over the last 5

7:02

years was because of excess government

7:03

spending High immigration and artificial

7:05

intelligence capex but all three of

7:08

those are expected to slow and even if

7:10

you get more beneficiaries out of the AI

7:14

efficiency models or strategies for AI

7:17

efficiency that we can adopt now it's

7:19

still worth remembering that AI capex is

7:22

a large contributor to GDP and if we do

7:24

end up getting downward revisions over

7:26

time to AI capex at the same time as we

7:29

get lower immigration or even net

7:31

negative thanks to deportation and lower

7:33

government spending due to Doge these

7:35

are all going to be a drag on GDP and

7:38

they could end up pushing us into a

7:40

substantially lower GDP regime but don't

7:43

worry this is all offset so far by the

7:46

consumer still spending money like there

7:48

is no tomorrow and they just have to

7:50

dump it all Morgan Stanley points out

7:53

that real consumer spending grows 4.2%

7:57

above the consensus of a 3.2 % estimate

8:00

goods and services coming in stronger

8:02

than expected clothing stronger durable

8:05

goods stronger although whirpool didn't

8:07

do so well after earnings real Services

8:09

spending picked up despite the

8:11

expectation for a Slowdown even Autos

8:13

did better after the Hurricanes as

8:15

people had to go buy new cars now

8:17

obviously some of that is paid for by

8:19

the insurance companies it's not

8:20

necessarily a gauge of of what's going

8:22

on with the consumer but still uh this

8:25

is uh this is pretty remarkable okay the

8:28

amount of spending we got going on in

8:29

America is wild now something that you

8:32

ought to pay attention to is saving uh

8:35

like the savings rate in America

8:37

especially even like versus Europe see

8:39

Robo questions hey can this sort of

8:42

spending keep supporting the economy uh

8:45

and at least in the United States what

8:48

you're seeing uh is a savings rate that

8:51

is actually below before the pandemic

8:54

levels so in other words people are

8:56

spending their money at a higher rate

8:58

today than they were were before the

9:00

pandemic before the pandemic we were

9:01

saving like 5 6% of our money now we're

9:05

saving like 4.8% of our money uh and and

9:08

when I say five it's probably more like

9:10

five and a half to 6% there uh maybe

9:13

even a little higher since this is 5 to

9:15

10% you can see it on the chart here uh

9:17

anyway if you look at Europe Europe

9:19

actually has a higher savings rate than

9:21

before the pandemic so they're actually

9:22

exactly the opposite which is really

9:24

interesting because if our savings rate

9:26

is so low and our GDP is so high

9:29

and Europe's GDP is so low and their

9:32

savings rate is so high let me make sure

9:35

I said that right Europe High savings

9:39

rate low GDP America High GDP low

9:42

savings rate then it begs the question

9:45

that could Europe actually see a boost

9:49

in GDP this year if people start

9:51

spending we got a little bit of an

9:53

inflation Point here Robo bank's

9:54

wondering hey maybe Europe will bottom

9:57

this year and maybe Europe outperform

10:00

the US hm interesting so far though

10:03

there's really no sign that people are

10:04

going to stop spending money I mean

10:06

honestly even Apple did better than

10:08

expected uh Apple intelligence Goldman

10:10

Sachs says uh and Bank of America I

10:13

think uh is going to drive upgrades more

10:15

vertical integration more higher margin

10:17

remember Apple has like incredible

10:20

margins on their software like 70%

10:22

margins whereas on their products

10:24

they're really only sitting around 35ish

10:26

per. Microsoft makes most of their money

10:29

from from software Apple makes most of

10:31

their money from products but software

10:34

makes more money it brings more to the

10:36

bottom line the good thing for Apple

10:38

though is despite that iPhone sale

10:40

slowdown you have an installed base of

10:42

2.35 billion people now that keeps going

10:45

up and yes iPhones went down 8%

10:48

year-over-year

10:49

but listen to this iPad up 15.2% Mac up

10:54

15.2% services up 13.9% the earnings

10:58

were actually really good I actually

10:59

just increased my exposure to Apple a

11:01

couple days ago and I was talking to

11:02

Coors members about this as well this is

11:05

this is kind of exciting uh this this

11:08

Apple is is a great company and I think

11:10

they are a huge beneficiary of more

11:12

efficient AI so that eventually when

11:16

they get up to scale because they're

11:18

always they're always slow okay they're

11:19

always incredibly slow with the

11:20

artificial intelligence

11:22

Integrations all right now Apple might

11:25

soon be able to actually make some more

11:26

money like oh yeah do you want to Apple

11:29

Cloud family plan or do you want the

11:31

Apple Cloud family plan with AI now that

11:34

might sound cheesy but frankly it's

11:35

exactly what Microsoft does and it's

11:37

been pumping their earnings okay so it's

11:38

just a matter of time until Apple does

11:39

it as well uh now something else uh to

11:43

look at is we've got uh the probable

11:47

impacts of this this sort of maybe more

11:50

slowdown in artificial intelligence uh

11:52

for capex uh do watch what happens with

11:56

the valuations of companies like Claude

11:58

and open AI because I think those will

12:00

help you dictate what happens with

12:02

stocks like arm super micro computer AMD

12:04

Nvidia because if those valuations and

12:07

investments in those companies stay high

12:09

then they might continue to still throw

12:11

money at capex I'm kind of curious to

12:14

see if we end up getting drawbacks and

12:15

capex I think we should know by April if

12:19

we're getting capex revisions or not

12:21

from from this sort of AI moment and

12:23

then this will either Fade Into

12:25

nothingness or we'll go oh crap yeah no

12:28

this actually matters data this morning

12:30

pce and ECI the employment cost index

12:32

matched honestly there's really nothing

12:34

to talk about here that matters uh we

12:35

could really keep this video shorter

12:37

because there's there's just there's

12:38

very little to talk to you about today

12:41

uh so I out of respect for your time

12:43

we're going to keep it a little simpler

12:44

uh plane crash update 41 bodies

12:46

recovered one black box recovered we

12:48

don't expect to get a black box from the

12:51

um uh the helicopter so it's the planes

12:54

black box that was recovered uh and uh

12:57

Donald Trump used it used this as an

12:59

opportunity via his press briefing

13:01

yesterday it was like back to the good

13:02

old days should I say good old days I

13:04

guess that that would be a biased way of

13:05

saying it when I said good old days I

13:07

really meant that like the past like

13:10

everybody always refers to the past as

13:12

oh you know back in the day the good old

13:13

days anyway uh back in the days when

13:15

Trump would go in there and just shout

13:17

at reporters yeah I I thought you'd ask

13:19

better questions it was like a flashback

13:21

to co whereas in there in the briefing

13:23

room just yelling at the reporters and I

13:26

expect it better from you it's so so

13:30

entertaining but anyway uh Donald Trump

13:33

ended up uh um bagging on uh the

13:36

helicopter suggesting that uh they flew

13:39

too high they were going in opposite

13:40

directions mistakes were made and Dei

13:43

might be to blame at the FAA and he

13:45

ended up reading a list of initiatives

13:46

that supported Dei from uh the Biden

13:49

Administration okay probably a little

13:52

extreme uh there are reports though at

13:55

the moment that uh the uh air traffic

13:58

control tower was potentially under

13:59

staffed this has been true at every

14:01

single Air Traffic Control Center in the

14:03

entire country for a very long time

14:05

there have been so many Staffing cuts

14:06

and shortages and I see it I mean I was

14:08

flying a twin engine yesterday uh and

14:11

we're in a very busy airspace in

14:12

Southern California and these folks are

14:16

overwhelmed I have multiple times been

14:20

on short final to land and these air

14:22

traffic control a short final by the way

14:24

means I'm like close to Landing I'm

14:25

landing within the next you know 30 45

14:27

seconds here uh and then I I I hear uh

14:30

another plane in front of me get cleared

14:32

to take off and I'm like bro are you

14:34

blind like I'm I'm about to be on the

14:37

runway and you're clearing somebody else

14:39

to take off in front of me and like I'm

14:42

a faster plane and you're clearing a

14:43

Cessna to take off in front of me so I'm

14:45

like here it comes I'm going to have to

14:47

go around and then sure enough I'm just

14:50

going to say Kevin instead of the tail

14:51

number Kevin go around diver offset to

14:55

the South and I

14:56

like back in the pattern

15:00

anyway so uh that's uh this isn't

15:03

uncommon now I'm not trying to defend

15:05

the ATC uh but I am trying to say that I

15:08

do think they don't have enough funding

15:11

uh that there aren't enough people and

15:12

then there's also some drama going on

15:14

about how oh the air traffic controller

15:16

was monitoring two

15:17

channels this is like also not very

15:20

uncommon like they sit on ground uh and

15:23

and Tower all the freaking time it's not

15:26

that big of a deal that part but I do

15:28

think they're underst staffed uh but

15:29

anyway it's a tragedy what happened

15:31

hopefully there are a lot of uh lessons

15:32

that can be learned from it uh really to

15:35

me I think uh identifying you know I saw

15:37

some comments people like oh Kevin you

15:39

can't ask Air Traffic Control what the

15:40

tail numbers are airliners are different

15:42

they don't have tail numbers bro shut up

15:44

I I float around in the LA The Lax

15:48

airspace and landed at LAX and I've done

15:51

the same thing even with lax hey am I

15:54

tracking this flight like the numbers

15:57

are right there on your iPad it's not

15:58

like a looking out of the window looking

15:59

at the tail number you just look at the

16:01

iPad okay you want me following this one

16:02

right a affirmative cool done it's it's

16:05

so fast to verify which plane you have

16:08

in sight and if this helicopter simply

16:11

verified uh yep and you're just

16:13

verifying you want us to uh F you know

16:16

keep an eye on flight you know XYZ that

16:18

we see taking off over there no no no

16:21

there's another one holy crap one extra

16:23

sentence would have solved the damn

16:25

thing on Final and people like oh they

16:27

don't have the stuff I agree they don't

16:29

have the staff so what does that mean

16:31

you just have to space the planes out

16:32

more hey I guess you're staying the

16:34

holding pattern a little

16:36

longer safety is very important I don't

16:39

I don't think one little confirmation of

16:40

which plane you're following is is uh

16:42

that big of a a cost uh and I think the

16:45

benefit is is very valuable too too many

16:48

too many near misses and I see it too

16:50

like the amount of traffic congestion

16:52

you get to these airports it's crazy uh

16:55

Daily Wealth topic today goals and

16:57

deadlines are meant to be set but

16:58

they're also meant to be missed uh that

17:01

might sound crazy but consider this uh

17:03

if we said I'll be able to score a 150

17:06

in Bowling now or or by July 4th when

17:10

would you start bowling the answer is

17:12

you'd probably start bowling

17:15

now uh but if you said one day in my

17:17

life I'm going to score 150 bowling when

17:20

are you actually going to start probably

17:23

not for years and it'll take you like 20

17:25

years to score that 150 it's kind of sad

17:27

but if you said I will bow 150 now you

17:30

would start now and the point is even if

17:33

it took you until September instead of

17:35

your July goal to Bull it at 150 at

17:39

least you're making progress so if

17:40

there's something you want to get done

17:41

in your life you want to work on that

17:43

six-pack you want to get better at

17:44

bulling you want to be a better golfer

17:47

you want to be a better YouTuber or

17:48

person you know worker whatever it is

17:50

that you're doing start

17:52

now and go to meet kevin.com and get

17:54
