what is your most interesting encounter

with the police I've carried a pocket

knife clip to my pocket for as long as I

can remember one day in time swear an

officer came up behind me on my right

side and grabbed at the knife reacting

instinctively I pinned his wrist and

pulled him in front of me almost

knocking him down as soon as I realized

he was an officer I apologized and asked

what are you trying to do can I help you

with something he explained that wearing

my knife like that was considered

brandishing and said I could be sighted

or it might be confiscated I asked if it

would be okay to just put the knife in

my pocket instead he agreed that was

fine so I Shrugged and did just that

later I was heading home on the subway

and there were two plain clothes

officers near the station entrance as

usual I walked over to the them and said

officers I just got lectured by a young

rookie in Time Square then I explained

the whole situation one officer looked

at me and said brandishing no that's not

brandishing he glanced at his partner

and added what's that word again I can't

think of it the partner smirked and

replied ludicrous that's the word the

three of us burst out laughing and

commuters passing by gave us odd looks

when I finally stopped laughing I said

thanks guys I've carried it this way

forever and never had a problem before

they handed me their cards and told me

if this ever happens again have the

officer call us they were awesome
