Dr K Diagnoses Naruto Uzumaki with WHAT?? Which character do y'all wanna see next?
FULL TRANSCRIPT
What would you diagnose Naruto?
>> I mean, I I think he's got not even
PTSD. He's he's got his his personality
has been shaped by traumatic
experiences, ostracization. He has, I
would say, like hyperactive defense
mechanisms, an adaptive view of the
world. If I had to diagnose him with
anything, he's probably avoidant
attachment style. So, he has difficulty
forming relationships with people. He's
ultra self-reliant, doesn't need anybody
else, has a fictitious view of what
friendship looks like. So, he's like
obsessed with this fictional view of
friendship with Sasuke. So, he doesn't
know what real relationships are like
because he didn't have them. He
basically like invents his idea of what
relationships look like. The other
really interesting thing is there is a
nonzero chance that he's autistic now
that I think about it. So if you look at
the differential diagnosis for people
who have difficulty with relationships,
hyperfocus, right? So he's incredibly
perseverant. Maybe he's autistic.
>> He's also very annoying.
>> Other people find him annoying. Exactly.
He has a lot of difficulty with
relationships, hyperfocused on
particular things. He's also very
particular about what he eats. So he's
like obsessed with ramen. If he was my
patient, I would have to rule out autism
spectrum disorder. Also has learning
difficulties, right? So, he doesn't do
well in school, which is often times
comorbid with things like autism
spectrum.
