Percentage of Code Written By AI at Microsoft
FULL TRANSCRIPT
Hey Mr. Ojen, I just saw your video
regarding Microsoft State. Yes, I'm
pretty sure you already uh know this,
but I've been working on their org
suite, Power Platform, and SharePoint
for more than 10 years, and it's also
never been this bad either. The culprit
Microsoft pushing uh blindly co-pilot.
Yeah, I mean, I think it has I think it
has direction. Again, I think I was hold
on,
we're going to pause the music. I
actually think I was right on the
assessment, which is that I don't think
it's the fact that AI is writing 30% of
their code that's the problem because
that's a gamified metric. We all know
that's a gamified metric. Really simple
way to show you this is watch this. I go
like this. Okay. See,
um, boom. I know that wasn't a correct I
know that wasn't like the type's not
correct. How much of this code did I
write versus how much did tooling write?
I wrote a C. I wrote the C. It autocomp
completed to here. I wrote that. Wrote
the I. It autocomp completed to here. So
I only wrote two letters. Three, four,
five, six, seven letters out of 22. So I
I mean really I only wrote 33% of this
code, man. So it's like 60% or more is
being written by if statements commonly
known as artificial intelligence, right?
I mean there was some really, you know,
that was kind of like a fast baseline
artificial intelligence that just wrote
that code there. So, it's one of those
things where it's like, okay, what's the
actual truth here? I don't know what the
actual truth is. I don't think 30% is
being written by AI in the sense that we
think of it like that. I think the real
culprit here is that they're pushing for
features beyond actually fixing and
taking the time. They're just going as
hard and and as fast as possible and
just ruining the world more than
anything else. Because this, again, this
is my personal thought. I think Satia is
trying to not be Steve Balmer so bad
that he's becoming worse than Steve
Balmer. And what I mean by that is that
Steve Balmer missed the mobile
revolution because he didn't consider it
a big deal. So Satia is never going to
make that mistake. He sees the writing
on the wall. He sees that Microsoft
needs to be a part of um part of the AI
revolution. So much like missing the
mobile revolution, he's gonna say, "I'm
never gonna do that." And he's gonna
jump all in. Bill Gates, on the other
hand, Bill Gates jumped in on the
computer revolution and did a great job.
Bill Gates also wants to produce a super
condom to avoid the fact that he gave
his wife an STD from sleeping with
Russian hookers. Apparently, crazy
Epstein file revelation. Nobody knows
what's happening here. Okay, I don't
know what's going on. Okay, I have no
idea what the hell's going on with
Microsoft. All I know is that there's
Russian hookers, there's Epstein,
there's bombers somehow did a better job
than than Satia and AI's ruining
everything. Thank you for coming to my
TED talk. May God have mercy on all of
our souls. Amen.
