How do you know if someone is
gaslighting you? I'm Dr. Julie and
here's your super quick rundown of the
three stages you need to look out for to
help you spot it as it's happening. For
it to be considered abusive gaslighting
that's damaging, you do need all three.
Number one, denial of your reality.
They're not only going to disagree with
what you're experiencing, they're going
to deny it all together and say you are
flatout wrong for thinking or feeling
that at all. Number two, next they're
going to tell you that there's something
wrong with you that allows them to shift
the blame to you. You're so paranoid,
sensitive, or crazy. And number three,
this is key. Occasional disagreements
are normal, but abusive gaslighting
happens repeatedly. Over time, it chips
away at your confidence and your trust
in your own judgment until you begin to
rely solely on them to tell you what's
real and true. Remember, healthy
relationships build confidence. They
don't destroy it. So if you notice these
