0:03

check out the 39 off coupon code it's

0:05

probably expiring

0:06

this friday so get in before the price

0:08

goes up hey guys i just

0:09

heard that robin hood might be

0:11

officially revealing

0:13

their ipo docs next a week

0:16

this is really incredible because first

0:18

of all based on website analytic data

0:20

we've actually seen robinhood hit a peak

0:23

of website analytic data in around

0:25

january 28th

0:27

grow from there and lately it's kind of

0:29

been flatlining

0:31

but it's not declining when you look at

0:32

website analytic data

0:34

for companies like weeble or public you

0:37

actually see a decline in analytics data

0:39

so robinhood has been kicking butt

0:41

they're

0:42

consistently ranked at the top of the

0:44

app store for finance their top 10

0:46

in overall apps in the apple uh itunes

0:49

or apple

0:50

app store or whatever and folks i have

0:52

to say this ipo

0:54

is gonna be insane you know why it's

0:56

gonna be insane first of all coinbase

0:58

coinbase big disaster it was a not an

1:00

ipo it was a dpo so it was a direct

1:02

listing a direct offering which meant

1:04

there was no lockup and all the people

1:06

who wanted to become overnight

1:07

billionaires who were insiders at the

1:09

company were able to dump shares

1:11

and they can dump more shares than

1:12

retail buyers can buy this at the same

1:14

time as crypto is selling off

1:16

coinbase was a big ouchie ouchie and i

1:19

think it was because it was a direct

1:20

listing

1:21

had this been a properly priced ipo with

1:23

lockups

1:24

we wouldn't have seen the disaster that

1:25

we just saw at coinbase it's too much

1:28

cell saturation at one time

1:30

robinhood is going to be a traditional

1:31

ipo traditional ipo means they're going

1:33

to be shareholder lockups which mean

1:35

they can't dump shares day one they have

1:37

to usually stay for certain periods of

1:39

time depending on what position you have

1:40

or you can kind of tranch out over time

1:42

but here's the big thing coinbase was a

1:45

big play off crypto revenues

1:47

what i want to see at robin hood is how

1:49

much money they're actually making

1:51

off payment for order flow now in my

1:53

interview with vlad

1:55

the ceo of robin hood robin hood has

1:57

suggested that payment for order flow is

1:59

one of their highest income sources

2:02

we'll see

2:02

in the actual ipo filing now i want to

2:04

make it clear i think robinhood is here

2:06

to stay i know a lot of people do not

2:08

like robin hood

2:09

uh and and you know i don't really like

2:10

to take sides i just like to report the

2:12

information

2:13

uh i will say this uh a robin hood's

2:16

payment for order flow system

2:17

where essentially they can take our

2:19

orders uh and

2:20

work to get the best uh execution and

2:23

pricing

2:24

is something that has been very very

2:26

controversial we haven't gotten clarity

2:28

or light on what the difference is

2:29

between potentially best execution and

2:31

preferred or premium execution

2:33

is that just a rumor does it exist that

2:35

was a question that vlad the ceo was

2:37

asked on capitol hill

2:38

we never got an answer we never got

2:40

clarity that and the media never really

2:42

kind of picked up on insights on wait a

2:44

minute what is that difference

2:45

robin hood's ipo might reveal that we

2:47

might actually see okay

2:50

how profitable is payment for order flow

2:52

and a company like public

2:54

which is i believe public is getting

2:57

ready to raise

2:58

a another seed round or maybe they're

3:00

not even called seed rounds anymore

3:01

probably funding round

3:03

in the private market this robin hood

3:05

ipo is going to be

3:07

very very critical for valuing public

3:10

because

3:10

well although there's this like wrinkle

3:13

because not only is public trying to do

3:14

what robinhood is trying to do

3:15

public publicly told everyone that

3:18

they're not going to use payment for

3:20

order flow anymore

3:21

so how profitable is payment for order

3:23

flow at robinhood

3:24

so that is going to be a big reveal when

3:27

we finally get something called the

3:28

public s1 which is the statement of

3:31

intent to file it's all disclosures in

3:33

here

3:33

coinbases was like 700 pages long you

3:36

get

3:37

all of of the the devilish details and

3:40

all the good

3:40

is in this for robin hood so far we

3:43

don't know

3:44

anything about their financials how much

3:46

money are they making off

3:47

crypto are they making any money at all

3:50

of crypto or is crypto a lost leader for

3:52

them

3:52

because we've done experiments before

3:54

and robin hood has had

3:55

the best pricing consistently uh for

3:58

crypto purchases

3:59

and as we know on robinhood you can't

4:02

transfer out your token

4:03

but vlad has been suggesting introducing

4:06

a crypto wallet so people can transfer

4:08

their tokens

4:09

personally if i was robin hood i would

4:11

uh during my ipo go

4:13

yeah yeah we're going to have a feature

4:14

to let people transfer their tokens

4:17

but not do that until the ipo happens

4:20

because

4:20

what if people can transfer their tokens

4:22

and they move a bunch of coins out of

4:23

robin hood

4:24

i don't know maybe maybe they have a lot

4:26

of development to do it's totally just

4:27

speculation

4:28

now i want to be clear i support robin

4:30

hood going public i think it is going to

4:31

be

4:32

a phenomenal amount of transparency for

4:34

the company

4:35

and quite frankly i hope they do well

4:37

now i know there are going to be a lot

4:38

of people

4:39

on especially in our wall street bets

4:41

community in our youtube community

4:43

that are going to be looking to

4:44

potentially short this company

4:46

especially after what happened with

4:47

coinbase

4:48

the one thing that i would caution is go

4:50

to that s1

4:51

and compare what happened to coinbase

4:54

and so here's how you got to stack this

4:56

up coinbase had

4:58

high transactional revenues uh because

5:01

of cryptocurrency

5:02

however we expect those transactional

5:04

revenues because of cryptocurrency

5:06

to go down at coinbase and then other

5:09

revenues

5:10

like providing other services for

5:11

existing customers like lending or

5:13

whatever these sort of secondary

5:15

uh sources of revenue we expect those to

5:17

go up so while transactional goes down

5:19

we expect this to go

5:20

up and the goal is at least my vision is

5:23

that if i set transactional revenues

5:25

to zero at coinbase you take let's say a

5:28

70

5:28

growth rate on their non-transactional

5:31

revenues which

5:32

last quarter they grew at 129

5:35

so if you say hey coinbase can grow

5:37

these other revenues if they can

5:38

by 70 over the next four years this is

5:41

hands down easily a five

5:42

six hundred dollar stock it's not right

5:44

now it looks like crap right now because

5:45

we're kind of we're kind of in this

5:47

phase

5:47

where it's like down and then where's

5:49

that up gonna come until we get that

5:50

certainty on up coinbase is not going to

5:52

perform well

5:52

especially with the problems with lockup

5:55

but beyond that

5:56

the other thing to consider here is

5:58

robinhood's going to be different

6:00

we're not actually expecting robinhood's

6:02

transactional revenues to go down like

6:04

coinbase

6:04

so we can't directly compare robin hood

6:07

uh and coinbase

6:08

because i don't think robinhood's going

6:10

to have transactional revenues going

6:11

down

6:12

i think they're going to be on that slow

6:13

and steady up because that's what we're

6:16

seeing on the website analytics data and

6:17

we don't expect there to be that kind of

6:19

weird transition with the sort of a

6:20

convergence of fees that are made in

6:22

crypto i don't think robin hood makes a

6:24

lot of money in crypto

6:25

personally i think crypto is a lost

6:27

leader for them and they're basically

6:29

giving people crypto at cost

6:31

to get them on the platform hi there and

6:33

keep them on the platform

6:34

that's my guess for robin hood if that's

6:36

true and this company is insanely

6:38

profitable

6:39

at uh at uh you know their their stock

6:42

brokerage side

6:44

this could be a very big ipo now in

6:46

terms of comps

6:47

it's tough coinbase obviously was slated

6:50

to be this hundred billion dollar

6:52

valuation

6:52

and the darn thing plummeted

6:54

substantially because of what we just

6:55

talked about

6:56

uh i think we're under 70 billion

6:58

dollars in valuation now

7:00

robin hood privately has been valued

7:02

between 40 to 60 billion dollars in

7:04

valuation

7:05

and folks are kind of looking at oh what

7:08

if robin hood could potentially also be

7:10

a hundred billion dollar

7:11

uh company in which case an interesting

7:14

thing about robinhood the way their

7:15

shares divide

7:16

is their share price usually aligns with

7:18

their market cap

7:20

at least what i've seen in the private

7:21

market so like when they're valued at

7:22

around 40 billion dollars their shares

7:23

sell for around

7:24

40 which is kind of cool it's like easy

7:27

math

7:27

so if they end up getting a hundred

7:29

billion dollar valuation because they're

7:30

kicking butt with profits

7:32

and those profits are sustainable not

7:33

like coinbase where you're gonna see

7:35

this down

7:35

and then up which really when you get

7:37

the ultimate crossover of down and then

7:39

up

7:40

that's the point that you really wanna

7:41

buy coinbase is let the hype settle down

7:44

let it go down then load the boat more

7:46

dollar cost average down if you're in it

7:47

and then ride the wave up hindsight

7:50

obviously but also trying to have some

7:51

foresight on it

7:52

uh for robin hood i don't know that

7:54

we're gonna have that same pattern

7:56

who knows we'll see but it's all gonna

7:58

be in that s1

8:00

how profitable are they with payment for

8:01

order flow is an investment in robinhood

8:04

going to be

8:05

uh going to be worth it i don't know

8:07

we'll see when we get that s1 there's

8:08

gonna be a lot of research doing that

8:10

uh but i will say i think institutions

8:13

potentially have the edge of taking

8:16

advantage of

8:17

retail buyers who are gonna be pissed

8:18

off at robin hood so you're gonna have i

8:20

think a lot of

8:21

retail buyers trying to sell or short

8:24

robin hood as soon as possible

8:26

institutions are going to be looking at

8:27

the numbers and if the numbers are

8:29

really really good at robinhood

8:31

institutions are going to plow into

8:32

robin hood

8:33

uh whereas they're kind of doing the

8:34

opposite on coinbase because again

8:37

and then this right you got that that

8:39

inverted triangle like coinbase which we

8:41

don't think

8:41

robin hits gonna have so we just got

8:43

news that robin hood is planning on

8:45

releasing this filing next week

8:47
