0:00

well we just got earnings and here's a

0:02

quick rundown of everything that you

0:03

need to know before we get into all the

0:06

details of the earnings calls here you

0:08

go first of all watch reddit reddit this

0:11

thing just came in with a crazy surprise

0:14

I mean it is up 177% right now uh in

0:18

after hours this is going to Skyrocket

0:20

this to alltime highs we've never been

0:23

at this level before uh for Reddit uh

0:26

Reddit comes in with average revenue per

0:29

user

0:30

$5.88 per quarter which means if you use

0:33

Reddit every quarter You Were Somehow

0:36

earning this company

0:39

$5.88 and they've got like

0:42

48.2 million daily active users in the

0:46

United States they've got

0:48

97.2 million active users worldwide and

0:53

this company was not expected to be

0:55

profitable until next year so uh they

0:58

were expected to have a 13 .8 million

1:01

loss they actually came in with uh a

1:04

gain here of

1:07

$29.9 million which is actually really

1:11

really incredible uh if you consider the

1:13

um net income they're expected to have

1:15

next year of about 226 million that's a

1:19

net income bottom line they're expected

1:20

to be at about a buck a share for uh for

1:24

EPS it still puts their valuation pretty

1:27

dang Rich up there because you know

1:30

you're looking at now basically a $95

1:32

stock selling for a 95p ratio but their

1:36

revenue could also double over the next

1:38

you know it's expected to go up 85 86%

1:40

in 26 another 90% in 2027 and 23% in

1:44

2028 so maybe it's a growth story might

1:47

be a little early to tell though how

1:49

their um their actual earnings look uh

1:53

and how sustainable that could be

1:55

because sometimes when they take

1:56

adjusted EPs and they're like oh yeah

1:57

all of a sudden we're we're profitable

1:59

you know there could be kind of

2:00

gamesmanship going on in there I'm not

2:02

trying to sound jaded on Reddit but I

2:05

mean hey we'll just take a quick look at

2:06

their financials their revenue exploded

2:09

so I mean they're pulling this cat you

2:11

know bunny out of a hat or whatever you

2:13

want to call it somehow I mean look at

2:15

the 9 months ended you went from 554

2:18

million to 872 million you went from uh

2:20

the quarter ended from 207 to 348 this

2:23

is a great boost of Revenue now you did

2:26

boost your sales and marketing but I

2:28

mean you almost doubled your revenue and

2:32

uh your sales and marketing are up like

2:34

50% so so you have this positive

2:36

operating leverage you are spending more

2:38

money on research and development but I

2:40

mean you're still making money you're

2:41

bringing money to the bottom line now so

2:43

a lot of people pretty excited about

2:45

what's going on over at Reddit uh they

2:49

do have at the moment it looks like

2:51

you've got uh free cash flow which is

2:53

great they did sell some crypto how dare

2:56

they sell they paper handed some crypto

2:59

uh so it looks like they sold about oh

3:00

what do we got here this looks like

3:02

thousands million about $7 million worth

3:04

of crypto and if I jump into their

3:06

balance sheet for a moment I see assets

3:09

of about $2 billion and I see total

3:12

liabilities of $194 million this company

3:15

is like cash Rich so honestly good job

3:20

Reddit this is really impressive I don't

3:23

use the product I don't know much about

3:25

it but you know what good for them uh

3:28

then you got AMD and Lisa Sue says that

3:31

there's insatiable demand for more

3:34

compute they matched on earnings per

3:37

share on an adjusted basis however their

3:39

Q4 forecast was down by just 66 basis

3:43

points just to like reiterate what that

3:45

means for a moment that means they were

3:47

down

3:49

66% on the forecast uh and uh then their

3:53

stock fell 4% and then their forecasted

3:57

forecast margin fell by 20 basis points

4:00

and then you started getting the Doomer

4:02

headlines AMD forecast falls short

4:05

suggesting a slower pace of AI growth

4:07

and now the stock's down I mean I'm

4:09

watching it right here it's down you

4:10

know 7% it's only taking Nvidia down

4:13

like a quarter of a percent with it so

4:15

it's pretty nominal for NVIDIA but you

4:18

get a little bit of a bleed Here In

4:19

fairness the stock was up 4% today and

4:21

it's kind of been rallying going into

4:23

this so maybe it's not that big of a

4:24

deal and quite frankly you know they're

4:27

still growing pretty well because when

4:29

you actually look at their earning

4:31

statement which is right here you can

4:33

see that they're expecting to see

4:35

year-over-year growth of 22% and 10%

4:39

quarter like sequential growth which

4:41

means from last quarter to this quarter

4:43

still 10% that's really really good so

4:47

you know I don't I don't actually see

4:48

this as bad uh I actually think this is

4:51

just this is just good the problem is

4:54

when you get markets that are at sort of

4:55

all-time highs and they have lofty

4:57

expectations you kind of think you just

4:59

keep growing forever but then the law of

5:01

large numbers catch up and it's sort of

5:03

like reality sets in you're like oh yeah

5:04

that's right we can't really do that

5:05

forever now one company that I think

5:07

really crushed it here that I think

5:09

should be up way higher than this so I

5:11

have no exposure to the stock right now

5:13

I I wish I did after this it's up 4.2%

5:16

but but I don't uh and it's Google uh so

5:19

Google beat on Cloud by 5.1% YouTube

5:23

basically math matched expectations but

5:24

their earnings per share were up

5:28

15.2% at Revenue beat by about 5050

5:31

basis points which is really low I think

5:33

the reason the stock isn't up more

5:34

though is because ad revenue is the vast

5:37

majority of this business uh just a

5:40

fraction of the business is cloud we'll

5:42

look at the statement in just a moment

5:43

uh and and you know a lot of people are

5:45

saying they don't give forecasts I don't

5:46

have a forecast or anything from them so

5:48

you know who knows uh but at least for

5:50

the quarter ended in September they

5:52

killed it I mean just look at the

5:54

statement for a moment Google services

5:56

up 133% Cloud up 35% total op operating

5:59

income up 34% and I'm a a Google Cloud

6:03

customer and frankly they're they keep

6:05

introducing new AI products and they

6:07

keep wanting to charge more and more for

6:09

them for for Enterprise uh AI products

6:12

and and uh you know I I keep I feel like

6:14

I keep giving them more and more money

6:16

so maybe I should have been my own

6:17

indicator uh sometimes I feel like I

6:19

should just listen to myself but anyway

6:21

uh it's worth noting that 12.8% of

6:23

Google Revenue comes from cloud uh most

6:26

of their revenue comes from like YouTube

6:28

and network and Google Google search and

6:30

I will say the AI built directly into

6:33

Google search is pretty amazing it's

6:36

it's a very very smart integration of

6:38

artificial intelligence I love it I

6:40

think it's very useful and I'm a big fan

6:42

so shout out to Google here I think they

6:43

did a fantastic job uh read through a

6:46

little bit of their statement here and I

6:48

think they have very very reasonable

6:50

operating leverage increases here their

6:52

margins are moving up uh they've got

6:55

over uh $16 billion dollar of free cash

6:58

flow and this is just a yeah 17.6

7:01

billion this is just a fantastic company

7:03

so so big fan here uh Google just tried

7:06

and true I mean it it it feels like a

7:09

great company so so great great great

7:10

job Google I I don't really have

7:11

anything bad to say here we'll see what

7:13

happens in the earnings uh next one to

7:15

mention is uh since I haven't yet uh

7:18

house hack has uh a really cool offering

7:20

in case you want to invest in house hack

7:22

then we're going to talk Snapchat and

7:23

chiple it uh we've got uh uh a pretty

7:26

awesome offer so if you want to learn

7:27

about that go over to house hack.com you

7:29

get all the the upside in the stock uh

7:31

you know once we go public or get a

7:32

valuation in the future but in the

7:33

meantime you lock in a 5% Distribution

7:36

on an annual basis that we pay out to

7:38

you monthly learn about that over at

7:40

house act.com there's a whole video and

7:42

presentation disclosures and a PPM so

7:45

make sure to read all that stuff okay so

7:47

Snapchat came in with uh an alert that

7:50

there might be slower holiday

7:51

advertising sales which is interesting

7:54

because it's kind of also what UPS

7:57

warned that there might be sort of a

7:58

tempered Outlook for this holiday season

8:01

the stock still went up about

8:03

4% and their Q3 basically matched

8:07

expectations but they're also doing a

8:08

$500 million buyback so that could be

8:10

what's what you're getting there uh then

8:14

you had Chipotle so Chipotle missed they

8:17

did authorize a $900 million buyback but

8:20

they missed about 1.6% on their revenue

8:23

forecast and they missed by about

8:26

7.9% on new stores

8:30

and they missed on comp sales by about

8:33

6% all of those were sort of enough to

8:36

maybe tell the market like hey the

8:38

Chipotle valuation is a little on the

8:40

rich side may maybe we don't want to be

8:42

paying this much money for this sort of

8:45

stock and so I mean it's still you know

8:47

it's closed at like 60 bucks today it's

8:49

only down 5% like big deal it's still

8:52

you know pretty remarkable in terms of

8:54

where its pricing is but I mean consider

8:56

this is a company that's selling for a

8:57

55 times uh you know multiple and you've

9:02

got a projected growth of maybe 18% over

9:05

the next four years on average so you

9:08

know when you divide that out that's 55

9:10

divided by 18 you're trading for a three

9:12

peg for a company that's giving you rice

9:14

and beans it's a little Rich uh but

9:17

their margins are great you know

9:18

operating margin at 16.9% beat the 15.7%

9:23

expectation I got give it to us pretty

9:25

damn good First Solar Miss uh they

9:29

missed on uh Revenue they missed on

9:32

operating income by

9:33

11% uh they are down about 6.9% in after

9:38

hours they are reducing their capex and

9:41

uh their um operating income forecast

9:44

unfortunately there's probably just a

9:46

lot of uncertainty around solar right

9:48

now in general because like markets are

9:51

basically pricing in at Trump which is

9:54

you know he's obviously a little bit

9:55

more anti uh how dare you say uh you

9:59

know clean energy but I mean you heard

10:02

him on the if you want me to do a

10:03

summary on The Joe Rogan pod I'll do the

10:05

summary on The Joe Rogan pod but you

10:06

know Trump's anti- windmills and EV

10:09

mandate and all I I think we all kind of

10:11

already know that uh but anyway uh so

10:15

you know take a look over here as we

10:17

approach the end of 2024 we remain

10:19

pleased with the progress across our

10:21

business navigating against a backdrop

10:23

of Industry volatility and political

10:26

uncertainty there it is Al Berto here

10:29

says Market is screaming melt up all

10:33

right uh so then you've got over here

10:36

with a continued focus on balancing

10:37

growth profitability and liquidity we

10:39

expect our disciplined long-term

10:40

approach will get us through the uh us

10:42

election so they're basically just going

10:44

to blame the election the problem is if

10:47

these sort of like negative numbers keep

10:50

coming in I mean look look at this

10:51

downside the 3 months ending June 30th

10:54

they had over a billion in revenue and

10:56

now they're at under

10:57

900 million

11:00

you know that's a hit their gross

11:01

profits down like 10% that's a hit their

11:04

sgna is the same their R&D is the same

11:08

production startup costs down a little

11:09

bit but then they have a litigation well

11:11

and then they're comping against the

11:12

litigation loss so that's a benefit for

11:14

them uh since they don't have that here

11:17

but uh you know when we look at net

11:18

income they're net income still down

11:20

like 10 to 15ish perc or whatever so so

11:22

you are getting slapped in the face a

11:24

little bit they're blaming the election

11:25

but once the election comes and goes

11:28

there going to be a little bit of a

11:29

problem

11:30

so uh we we we'll see what happens here

11:33

uh some people in the comments are

11:34

asking yeah what's going to happen with

11:36

Tesla uh you know I think that is also a

11:38

big irony is that like you know Donald

11:40

Trump is so blunt about like I'm going

11:41

to get rid of the EV mandate and Elon is

11:44

such a you know proponent of of Elon or

11:47

of of Donald Trump but then I think the

11:49

counterargument here is that you know

11:51

Elon thinks Tesla will be the Eevee

11:53

maker to survive and it'll really just

11:55

hurt the Fords and the GMS and the other

11:57

ones okay Visa is uh laying off about

12:00

1,400 employees by the end of the year

12:02

4.6% of their staff gone this is not

12:05

good especially with that weaker jolts

12:07

report it just sort of reiterates again

12:09

that one of the ways companies are

12:11

bumping profits is just by firing people

12:14

uh that is unfortunate because

12:16

eventually that is going to catch up to

12:18

the economy especially in an environment

12:19

where yields are

12:21

rising this is this is a slow growth

12:23

economy you know the econom is

12:26

slowing and and everybody hopes we're

12:28

going to have that soft Landing but you

12:30

know as it's slowing they're actually

12:31

adding more weight to our back with

12:34

these uh with with with higher yields in

12:36

markets it's not exactly ideal uh with

12:40

that said though Visa is still

12:41

forecasting an increase of high single

12:43

digits to low double digit Revenue

12:45

growth uh for this holiday season coming

12:47

up uh and then cheesecake actually beat

12:49

on comp sales 1.6% versus the

12:51

expectation of 1.03% expected it's

12:54

pretty good and Caesar's matched

12:57

expectations but they were still down

12:58

like 5% cheesecake's actually up like 5%

13:01

though on this by the way they they're

13:03

they're pretty enthused and I think

13:05

that's just because they've gone nowhere

13:06

over the last 3 years so is what it is I

13:08

guess uh but uh some things to watch for

13:11

tomorrow and if you want we can do you

13:14

know sort of another S I don't I don't

13:15

know if you find these useful or

13:17

whatever but if if you do you know let

13:19

me know uh but uh we're obviously going

13:21

to get some more earnings tomorrow we're

13:24

going to get uh Wing Stop caterpillar

13:26

Eli Lily in the morning we'll get the

13:27

ADP report GDP annualized we'll get the

13:30

advance report price index for GDP uh

13:34

Wednesday p.m we'll get Microsoft meta

13:36

coinbase Robin Hood carvana Etsy Roku

13:38

Starbucks Dash St Dash lemonade and eBay

13:41

uh and the Thursday we'll get pelaton

13:42

MasterCard Uber Norwegian the employment

13:44

cost index report in the PM we'll get

13:46

Amazon Apple Intel Friday morning we'll

13:49

get Wayfare assignment Property Group

13:50

Chevron and the jobs report which is

13:52

expected to come in poopy dupy so we'll

13:55

see what happens but so far this is a 7%

13:57

drop on AMD kind of curious to see what

14:00

this is going to end up doing to you

14:02

know markets tomorrow I'm looking at

14:05

Tesla down about 43 bips I got the q's

14:08

almost flat although they're pretty much

14:09

at alltime highs 500 on the q's is

14:12

really impressive and BTC dropped a bit

14:14

after some of these AMD earnings but it

14:16

looks like you're already kind of on its

14:17

way uh back to to uh to sort of recovery

14:20

here so we shall see anyway uh that's

14:26

all I got for us if you got questions
