if you struggle with anxious thoughts
here's something people learn in therapy
that can be life-changing grab a pen and
paper and split the page in two write
your anxious thought at the top then
rate how much you believe that thought
to be a true fact so 10 out of 10 being
completely true and zero being not at
all in the left hand column I want you
to write down all the evidence you can
think of that this thought is true
opinions don't count here we want good
evidence that would stand up in a court
of law once you've done that then use
the other column to write out all the
evidence that suggests this thought
might not be true all the evidence that
suggests we shouldn't take on this idea
as fact once you've done that try rating
your belief in that original thought
again has it changed a thought has the
power to make you feel anxious when you
believe that thought to be true so given
that not all thoughts are fact it makes
sense to check out those thoughts that
are causing you anxiety
