0:00

Congress has just revealed their 1.7

0:02

trillion dollar spending package is is a

0:06

4155 page Bill

0:08

1500 pages more than last year that's

0:12

like a whole stimulus Bill more of pages

0:16

than last year's spending bill now of

0:20

course this does avert a government a

0:22

shutdown should it be passed which of

0:24

course it is expected to be passed and

0:26

that it can sometimes be nice to go into

0:28

the holidays knowing we're not going to

0:30

have a shutdown but it's also going to

0:32

come with a whole lot more spending and

0:34

some of it raises some eyebrows we're

0:37

going to talk about just that in this

0:39

video hey everyone me Kevin here

0:40

remember the only sponsor for this

0:42

channel are the programs linked down

0:43

below I'm building your wealth let's get

0:45

into the program of congress's spending

0:48

so defense spending is expected to be up

0:50

850 or up to 858 billion dollars for

0:55

this particular spending package for

0:57

next year that's up 76 billion dollars

0:59

about eightish percent 40 billion

1:02

dollars for disaster relief think

1:04

hurricanes fires uh earthquakes right

1:07

electoral count reform now this is an

1:10

interesting one this tries to basically

1:12

prevent Another January 6 from happening

1:15

by making it clear that the vice

1:16

president's role is simply to count the

1:19

votes publicly in Congress and that he

1:21

doesn't have any power to actually stop

1:23

the transfer of power remember Mike that

1:26

it depends you know hey maybe Mike Pence

1:28

can just

1:29

refuse to count and there the electoral

1:32

votes and therefore maybe the transfer

1:34

power could stop that was a thesis uh at

1:36

the end of 2020 and the beginning of

1:39

2021.

1:40

now there are also 16 billion dollars in

1:44

earmarks in this legislation which 16

1:47

billion dollars is is a smaller fraction

1:49

of the 1.7 trillion dollars that's in

1:52

this entire package but earmarks are

1:54

really interesting because earmarks are

1:56

basically this tool that allows Senators

2:00

to put individual little requests in a

2:02

bill and they stick those requests in a

2:04

bill like what I was looking at was

2:07

857 thousand dollars for a new fire

2:11

truck and it can be really really

2:14

specific little line items and what's

2:16

fascinating about it is when you

2:19

actually look at the Appropriations

2:21

website and then you think to yourself

2:22

okay I'm going to start going through

2:24

all of the Appropriations at first

2:26

you're like okay all right so Senator

2:28

Baldwin's got some in here he's got 4.3

2:31

billion dollars for the construction of

2:33

a new food bank serving Western

2:34

Wisconsin or 2.5 million dollars for

2:38

child care center Construction and

2:39

Equipment okay like some of these seem

2:42

reasonable like hey these are

2:44

improvements to local areas maybe

2:46

improvements to Public Safety but then

2:49

when you try to understand how many of

2:51

these line item entries there are to

2:54

actually go through them and like who's

2:56

going to actually check on all of these

2:57

right there are 14 048 appropriation

3:01

requests apparently when you go through

3:03

this Appropriations uh segment of the

3:05

Senate website now those don't

3:07

necessarily all have to be related to

3:09

this bill but it's just like oh man

3:12

those are a lot of line items and you

3:14

know most of these are probably just uh

3:16

whatever slide it in and one of the

3:18

reasons we know that is because there's

3:21

one individual who happens to be

3:23

retiring and this individual is sliding

3:26

in a whole lot of them Richard Shelby

3:29

who is a retiring from the Senate uh as

3:33

someone on the Appropriations Committee

3:35

has

3:37

656 million dollars in appropriation

3:41

requests inserted into this particular

3:43

bill

3:44

17 projects in total just for one

3:49

Senator so one Senator basically is

3:51

getting 656 million dollars to Dole out

3:54

to departments like the Port Authority

3:56

Department of Transportation hey go fix

3:58

that road by my house I'm not saying

4:00

he's doing that just staying like hey

4:02

I'll get you that if you fix that road

4:04

over there hey I'll get you like

4:06

that's Congress for you right like could

4:08

you imagine being an individual with the

4:10

power to have 656 million dollars money

4:13

you could give away you will get invited

4:15

to everyone's parties okay there are so

4:19

many earmarks that's crazy some of the

4:21

big ones are a 45 billion dollars in the

4:24

actual bill moving away from earmarks

4:26

now the actual bill some of the big

4:27

items in the actual bill are 45 billion

4:29

dollars of more funding for Ukraine

4:32

that's actually more than the 37 billion

4:33

dollars that Joe Biden requested some

4:35

say that it's actually more than Joe

4:37

Biden requested because Democrats think

4:40

this might be the last opportunity they

4:42

have before Republicans take over to

4:46

send money to Ukraine and as a result

4:48

what do we have we have Mr zielinski

4:51

President zielinski himself coming and

4:53

traveling from Ukraine to DC to conduct

4:58

his first in-person joint meeting with

5:01

Joe Biden at 2PM and they will be since

5:05

the invasion and they will be conducting

5:07

a public joint statement in front of

5:09

Congress at 4 30 PM eastern time today

5:13

so stay tuned for that that's about 1 30

5:15

Pacific time we'll get to see zielinski

5:17

and Biden together make a statement

5:19

zelenski is

5:22

nailing timing pretty well here I'd say

5:25

as he's coming right as it seems like

5:27

Congress is about to hand him almost

5:29

another 50 billion dollars I guess I

5:32

would make the flight over to America as

5:34

well for 50 billion dollars

5:36

there's also a segment for Michelle

5:38

Obama Trail for 3.6 million dollars

5:42

Nancy Pelosi is apparently getting her

5:44

name on a building there is a tick tock

5:47

ban that is a ban for a removal of tick

5:51

tock on any government devices and a ban

5:54

disallowing Tech talk from being able to

5:57

be installed on any government devices

5:58

this has to do with uh spy concerns by

6:01

work concerns contact downloading

6:03

concerns from the Chinese Communist

6:05

party and potentially implications that

6:08

you know could sneak through uh tick

6:10

tock's data servers if data happens to

6:13

also be stored in Asia and outside of

6:16

America which so far it seems like

6:18

research is suggesting copies of data

6:20

that's supposed to stay in the United

6:21

States has already been found or copies

6:24

of that data have already been found in

6:26

places like Singapore and that's leading

6:28

people to be a little bit concerned that

6:29

oh maybe Tick Tock Isn't So safe on our

6:32

phone there are some new tax rules

6:34

around a land easements that are given

6:36

to the government for big tax write-offs

6:39

this is actually in my opinion a direct

6:41

slam on Donald Trump who took massive

6:43

tax write-offs using these sorts of

6:45

strategies and those have come under

6:47

scrutiny lately so that slipped into

6:49

here we've seen a security boost listen

6:51

to this one the Capitol Police will

6:53

extend protective details for the former

6:56

house speaker for up to one year after

6:58

they leave office and we know that Nancy

7:00

Pelosi is about to step down from being

7:03

the house speaker and of course her

7:05

husband was violently attacked in San

7:07

Francisco potentially longer as well if

7:09

warranted so kind of an Open Door there

7:11

to potentially have security forever and

7:14

also two and a half million dollars of

7:16

funding for residential Security

7:17

Programs for senators I'm kind of

7:20

thinking to myself what are they going

7:21

to install like a hundred ring cameras

7:23

and charge you know 10 grand a piece for

7:25

them or I guess I'd be more like 25

7:26

Grand a piece for them who knows anyway

7:28

uh what's a not in this bill and then

7:31

I'm going to go through some actual

7:32

Provisions here on screen are an

7:34

extension to the child tax credit

7:37

remember that was thirty six hundred

7:38

dollars per year per child uh up to six

7:41

years old and then three thousand

7:42

dollars per child six to Seventeen years

7:44

old for the 2021 tax year half of that

7:47

was paid in 2021 and uh the other half

7:50

was paid when you filed your taxes this

7:53

year for 2021. the Cannabis safe Banking

7:57

Act did not make it into this bill as

7:59

well but don't worry some things that

8:01

did make it into the build are the

8:04

following we here have here yehiri for

8:09

necessary expenses associated with

8:11

Pacific salmon populations yes salmon

8:14

populations are getting 65 million

8:17

dollars some folks are calling this

8:18

fishy although it is worth noting that

8:20

Canada is spent is spending like 647

8:24

million Canadian dollars so I guess

8:26

that's probably way less than we're

8:27

spending uh I'm kidding on slowing the

8:31

decline of the salmon population in the

8:34

Pacific so this is actually an issue but

8:37

some people are pointing this out as

8:39

fishy anyway there is 7.5 million

8:43

dollars here in funding towards

8:46

developing a better understanding for

8:47

domestic radicalization phenomena that

8:51

this would be like School shooters and

8:53

things like that it's like okay well

8:54

what are they going to spend that seven

8:55

and a half million dollars on Don't

8:57

Shoot the schools who knows here's

9:01

another section here of the amounts

9:03

appropriated in this act there will be

9:05

410 million dollars that shall be

9:09

available to reimburse Georgia Lebanon

9:12

Egypt Tunisia and Oman

9:15

for the National Defense authorization

9:17

act now keep in mind every single year

9:22

we do a budget uh everybody freaks out

9:25

over the foreign aid that is sent uh to

9:29

other countries now keep in mind every

9:31

single year we have any kind of foreign

9:34

aid in a bill it automatically attracts

9:37

attention from individuals to say we

9:39

should spend all of that money only on

9:40

America and not on foreign aid for the

9:42

rest of the world we have a total of

9:44

about 51 billion dollars of annual

9:47

foreign aid expenses to other countries

9:49

and you can actually go to foreign

9:51

assistance.gov and just scroll around

9:53

like 3.7 billion dollars allocated for

9:57

Afghanistan I expect after the Taliban

9:59

have taken over that might change a

10:01

little bit so we'll see Ethiopia 1.2

10:04

billion dollars and you can see the

10:06

breakdown here the most goes towards

10:07

peace and security then health and

10:09

humanitarian assistance Economic

10:11

Development and so on and so forth these

10:12

things are of course used in trade

10:14

agreement negotiation as well so these

10:16

things can get very complicated worth

10:17

noting that 51 billion dollars of

10:20

foreign aid just represents three

10:22

percent of the 1.7 trillion dollar

10:25

spending in this bill kind of wild can

10:29

the wild okay let's go to the next one

10:31

this one got a lot of drama online this

10:33

one here says 1.5 billion dollars for

10:36

Border management requirements of the

10:38

U.S Customs and Border Protection Agency

10:40

so basically 1.5 billion dollars for

10:43

border patrol but wait a minute here it

10:45

says to acquire maintain or extend

10:48

border security Technologies and

10:50

capabilities except for technology and

10:52

capabilities to improve border patrol

10:54

processing so people get really confused

10:56

by this uh this is because the way

10:59

Congress divide thing divides things can

11:01

be a little confusing if you go like 60

11:03

Pages earlier in the bill you could

11:05

actually see a separate 230 million

11:07

dollars specifically for those types of

11:09

Technologies so just worth kind of

11:11

showing that sometimes these things get

11:13

taken out of context but what doesn't

11:15

get taken out of context is the fact

11:17

that the vaccine injury Compensation

11:19

Program trust fund is getting a 15 boost

11:21

to its trust fund and it is going up to

11:24

15.2 million dollars keep in mind the

11:28

New York Times just ran a front page

11:29

story about how fewer older folks are

11:31

actually getting their covet boosters

11:33

although I don't think anybody's really

11:34

surprised by that

11:36

we've got over here uh 524 million

11:39

dollars going to minority health and

11:41

health disparities research

11:44

then we have on the next page right here

11:49

we've got

11:50

300 million dollars that should be

11:53

available for the purchases of vaccines

11:55

antivirals and medical supplies for the

11:59

flu total of 335 million just for the

12:04

flu we also have

12:07

535 million dollars going to the

12:10

corporation of public broadcasters those

12:13

are like organizations that put together

12:15

NPR National Public Radio

12:18

we have over here this is a one that got

12:21

a little bit of attention online

12:23

575 million dollars going basically to

12:28

areas uh under uh the guidance of the

12:32

United States leadership against HIV

12:33

AIDS tuberculosis and malaria acts which

12:37

in my opinion is going into areas

12:39

probably like really destitute in poor

12:42

areas in Africa but some folks read this

12:44

and and they see this as oh my gosh 575

12:47

million dollars is going towards Family

12:49

Planning and reproductive Health what

12:51

kind of agenda is this going to I

12:53

personally believe it's probably going

12:55

to areas where population growth could

12:57

could impact uh not only the environment

13:00

but but potentially lead to more poverty

13:03

or like things like incest right so it's

13:05

really just more of a breakdown of

13:07

foreign aid in my opinion but it's

13:09

something that got a lot of attention

13:11

online

13:12

here's another one we have 200 million

13:15

dollars may be available for gender

13:18

equity and equality action fund with not

13:21

less than 50 million being available or

13:24

Des designated to increase leadership

13:26

opportunities for women in countries

13:29

where women and girls suffer

13:30

discrimination due to the law or policy

13:33

or otherwise

13:34

over here we have three million dollars

13:37

for carrying out the pollinator friendly

13:40

practices on roadsides and highways act

13:43

okay so this is basically saying I I

13:46

wrote a little note here that this has

13:48

to do like people are calling this three

13:49

million dollars for bees well to some

13:53

degree if we just look at the title it

13:54

is somewhat true it is also a matter of

13:57

trying to reduce irrigation at the sides

14:00

of Roads reducing mowing on the side of

14:02

Roads reducing the need to use

14:04

herbicides and pesticides on roads so

14:06

that way there are more natural flowers

14:07

on the side of roads which are

14:09

beneficial to bees but it's also

14:11

beneficial for less expenses on mowing

14:13

it's beneficial for less water costs

14:15

it's beneficial for the environment to

14:17

use less chemicals right so there's a

14:19

lot more to that and my expectation is

14:22

that three million dollars goes to sort

14:23

of research on the type of plants and

14:25

things like that and don't get me wrong

14:26

I'm not trying to like defend all the

14:28

provisions of of this bill I think it's

14:30

kind of crazy some of the wild things

14:31

that are in here and I bet you the vast

14:34

majority this lines people's pockets who

14:36

don't deserve it and a lot of it is

14:38

wasted I really believe that but uh at

14:41

least some of it probably has a good

14:44

intent I don't know I'm not endorsing it

14:46

I'm just trying to share it there's also

14:48

I guess a money going to designate a

14:51

certain Park the Ukrainian Independence

14:53

Park so you've got a lot of stuff going

14:55

in here but there you go there's a

14:56

little bit of look at the Omnibus

14:59

spending bill for 2022 that's going to

15:03

help us prevent a government shutdown
