0:15

price will be going up down below and

0:17

let's get into the video hey everyone me

0:18

kevin here is kathy wood paper handing

0:21

tesla she just sold 297 million dollars

0:25

worth of tesla stock just this month

0:27

alone and folks are wondering

0:29

what's happening has kathy's insanely

0:32

high conviction in tesla shifted has her

0:36

3 000 plus price target by 2025 of tesla

0:40

stock

0:41

changed is she now a paper-handed weenie

0:45

baby and why even would she remotely

0:48

consider selling tesla is it the

0:50

infrastructure bill being drafted to

0:52

purposefully exclude teslas because the

0:54

united auto workers union lobbyists

0:57

that's a mouthful hate the fact that

0:59

tesla doesn't use unionized labor

1:02

i don't think so

1:03

is it because tesla's finally honoring

1:06

their contracts on their solar roofs and

1:09

not doubling the cost of people's solar

1:11

roof installations but instead in court

1:14

documents obtained yesterday

1:16

suggests that hey we'll honor the

1:18

contracts we signed we'll install those

1:21

solar roofs at the co at the cost that

1:23

we originally quoted not that inflated

1:25

cost we wanted later

1:27

no i don't think that's why kathy's

1:28

selling easier either

1:30

what about the fact that tesla is ending

1:33

their solar subscriptions which i

1:35

thought was an absolutely incredible

1:37

feature of tesla to essentially get

1:39

tesla solar panels installed on a lease

1:43

at essentially no upfront cost other

1:45

than the monthly fee and you could pause

1:46

that monthly fee at any time but tesla

1:49

has now canned these solar subscriptions

1:51

probably proved not profitable enough

1:53

which makes sense because it was a deal

1:55

that was too good to be true

1:57

what about that no that's probably not

1:59

why kathy's selling either what about

2:01

the fact that tesla's autopilot

2:03

still shows some issues although version

2:06

10.1 has been pretty freaking amazing

2:10

from everything that we can tell and the

2:12

vehicle continues to get smarter and

2:14

smarter and smarter driving itself now

2:16

that that actually seems like a good

2:18

thing that that probably would make me

2:19

want to buy tesla more so it can't be

2:22

can't have anything to do with autopilot

2:23

what about all those investigations into

2:26

tesla's accidents

2:28

well now they're notoriously few of them

2:31

compared to other manufacturers so i

2:33

don't i don't think it's that one either

2:35

uh well then why why would kathy wood be

2:39

selling so much

2:41

tesla stock you know when we compare

2:43

ourselves to kathy wood we think well

2:45

wait a minute like we love tesla at

2:47

least most of us probably do

2:49

we we wouldn't sell tesla unless all of

2:51

a sudden our conviction had changed

2:52

would we well maybe we would because

2:55

there are three reasons why kathy wood

2:57

is actually selling in my opinion there

2:59

are two primary reasons why kathy wood

3:02

is selling tesla and it has absolutely

3:05

nothing to do with any of the fud in the

3:07

news or any of the things that we just

3:09

talked about

3:10

instead

3:11

it's a lot more basic

3:13

now it's helpful to know what an etf is

3:16

which is what kathy wood sells you a

3:19

product an actively managed exchange

3:22

traded fund and it's really important to

3:25

separate this because we hear etf and we

3:28

just think it's one thing but really

3:29

what an exchange traded fund is is just

3:31

like a mutual fund it's a pool of money

3:35

and it just happens to be

3:37

on the stock market because it follows

3:38

certain rules and registers which means

3:40

anybody who buys the ticker symbol is

3:42

basically depositing money into the fund

3:45

so let's do an example here let's say

3:47

you had your very own actively managed

3:50

exchange traded fund

3:53

and somebody deposited a hundred dollars

3:55

into your etf and you said hey you know

3:58

what i'm going to put ten dollars into

4:00

tesla five dollars into apple and five

4:02

dollars into uipath the other tech

4:05

company

4:06

now you have these allocations right 10

4:08

tesla 5 apple 5 path

4:10

well what happens when apple goes up

4:13

tesla goes up and uipath goes down let's

4:15

say tesla's now 12 dollars six dollars

4:18

at apple and uipath is at two well now

4:20

assuming you have the same pie your

4:21

allocations are off you've got twelve

4:23

dollars in tesla you got six dollars in

4:26

apple you got two dollars in uipath so

4:29

what do you do well you sell some tesla

4:32

and you buy some uipath which is

4:34

literally exactly what kathy has been

4:36

doing which makes complete sense because

4:38

if you look at the sticks tesla since

4:40

may has been going up pretty

4:43

consistently if you type in path to see

4:46

the tickers here you'll see that path

4:48

has since may been pretty consistently

4:51

going down in fact here's may and it's

4:53

been going straight down so now this is

4:56

not always as simple as oh okay one

5:00

stock went up the other stock went down

5:01

so let's rebalance although that's

5:03

exactly what kathy does sure there are

5:05

some cases she might say hey uipath is a

5:08

three percent allocation we're gonna

5:10

bump it to a four percent allocation and

5:12

we're going to take one percent off of a

5:14

different stock like apple or whatever

5:16

else which is something that kathy does

5:18

she sees apple and amazon as cash parks

5:22

and plays like a uipath or tesla as big

5:25

return opportunities so that when it's

5:27

time to buy the dip she'll lower her

5:28

allocations in other these sort of cash

5:31

park stocks and instead she'll

5:33

concentrate down into these stocks that

5:35

have dipped and so her opinion and sort

5:38

of the way she kind of manages her fund

5:41

is that the more frothy the stock market

5:43

gets the more she'll broaden out her

5:45

investments and the more the stocks uh

5:48

the stock market in general falls or

5:50

stocks individually fall the more she'll

5:53

concentrate into those opportunities

5:56

that's been her management style her

5:57

belief and she's been very very clear

5:59

about that so this could be a method of

6:01

her diversifying into opportunities that

6:04

she thinks are going to be strong

6:06

profitable opportunities essentially

6:08

buying the dip while at the same time

6:10

just rebalancing her tesla allocation to

6:13

consistently be where she wants it to be

6:16

so this is in my opinion not a signal of

6:18

oh my gosh kathy is selling out of tesla

6:22

it's just a signal of rebalancing and

6:24

basically buying the dip in accordance

6:27

with the rules of the exchange traded

6:28

fund she set up but it's not just that

6:31

it's also the fact that kathy's funds

6:33

have been seeing more net withdrawals

6:36

unfortunately see this red line here

6:39

anytime the line is above the red line

6:41

like what we had at the end of last year

6:43

or beginning of this year right here

6:45

anytime the line is above the red line

6:47

it means kathy wood

6:49

and her funds are growing her funds are

6:51

getting larger which is good you get

6:54

money coming in that means you could

6:55

literally just keep buying if you have a

6:57

hundred dollars and ten of that is into

6:59

tesla and then somebody deposits another

7:01

hundred dollars you could go buy another

7:02

hundred dollars of tesla right but now

7:05

if somebody deposits a hundred dollars

7:06

and then the very next day takes that

7:07

hundred dollars back out you may have

7:09

bought a hundred dollars or that i'm

7:11

sorry that ten dollars of tesla the very

7:12

next day you might have to sell that ten

7:14

dollars of tesla because people want

7:16

their money back that's the way an

7:18

exchange traded fund works it's a big

7:20

pool people put money in kathy buys

7:23

people take money out kathy has to sell

7:25

and if you look at the line over here

7:27

the last three months the line has been

7:29

substantially below on average the red

7:32

line versus above there have been more

7:35

net outflows as compared to inflows this

7:38

is about 200 million dollars here on the

7:40

spikes per day of outflows i would say

7:44

the average is probably somewhere closer

7:46

to about 30 to 50 million dollars in

7:49

outflows per day and that would be

7:50

netted with with some of the gains over

7:52

here so maybe closer to 30 40 million

7:54

dollars of outflows per day but the

7:55

point is those are still outflows per

7:57

day you are having people net net

8:00

withdraw money from your fund so you

8:02

have to sell stocks to give them their

8:04

money back that is just the way an

8:07

exchange traded fund works hopefully

8:09

this gives you some perspective keep in

8:10

mind kathy wood is still very bullish on

8:12

tesla she's expecting a 300 return by

8:14

2025 especially based on or

8:17

you know if you look back at some of our

8:19

earlier by the dips uh in may where

8:21

tesla's price was in the 500s and folks

8:24

if you like my perspective always

8:26

remember check out the programs linked
