"Can you make money with Muse?" is one of the top questions people search, and the YouTube answers range from sensible to wild. Meta's own leadership has said they believe Muse will make people money. That is true in a narrower way than the thumbnails suggest.
Here is our honest take, based on 14 hands-on reviews we transcribed and cross-checked. We split it into saving money (where Muse is reliably good), earning money (possible, with caveats), and hype (where the claims run ahead of the product).
Saving money: the most reliable wins
1. Find and cancel forgotten subscriptions
This is the single most consistent "Muse paid for itself" story across reviewers, and Meta says it is the moment many users first see the point of an agent. People report finding hundreds of dollars a month in forgotten plans.
Go through my email receipts and statements from the last 12 months. List every recurring subscription with price, billing date and when I last used it (if you can tell). Sort by cost. Don't cancel anything; I'll choose.
Then cancel the ones you pick, approving each step.
2. Find money you are owed
Muse can search for class-action settlements you might qualify for and check state unclaimed-property databases. One reviewer found a few hundred dollars across an old settlement and unclaimed state funds.
Search for open class-action settlements I might be eligible for based on the products and services in my email receipts. Also check the unclaimed property database for my state. For each, tell me the deadline, what proof I need, and whether it looks legitimate. Don't submit anything.
Check every claim yourself. Only file where you genuinely qualify.
3. Negotiate bills
Muse can draft (and with your approval, send) emails asking your internet or insurance provider for a better rate, using competitor prices as leverage. Results vary, but it costs you two minutes.
4. Catch overspending early
Every Sunday, look at this week's spending (from my bank Connector) and flag any category more than 20% above my monthly average. One short message, no lecture.
Earning money: possible, with caveats
5. Sell your stuff on Facebook Marketplace
Give Muse photos of something you want to sell. It writes the listing, suggests a price, posts it after you approve, and answers buyer questions in Messenger. Reviewers have sold furniture this way.
The catch: keep prices, your address and pickup times under your control. A widely shared story involved Muse accepting a lowball offer and sharing a seller's address after being told to "handle" Marketplace. Our Marketplace guide covers a safe setup.
6. Flip underpriced items
The step up from selling your own things: have Muse watch Marketplace for items below a price you set within a distance you choose, then resell. Some creators claim 20 to 40% margins. Muse handles the searching and messaging; you still judge condition and value, pay upfront and meet people. Treat it as a hobby business, not passive income.
Watch Facebook Marketplace within 15 miles for [item type] listed under $[price]. Only message me when you find one, with the link, price and why it looks underpriced. Never contact sellers or agree to anything without me.
7. Offer small-business services you already know how to do
Muse now has Connectors for Shopify, Klaviyo, QuickBooks, Stripe, HighLevel and more. If you already have a skill (email marketing, customer follow-up, social media), Muse can do the busywork, so you can serve more clients:
- Email-flow reviews for online stores (Shopify + Klaviyo)
- Following up old leads for local businesses (HighLevel)
- Social media upkeep: content calendars, comment replies drafted for approval, competitor tracking
The value is your expertise; Muse just makes it faster. Be wary of anything touching bookkeeping or tax: errors carry real liability, and Muse itself declines to give financial advice.
8. Do your own freelance work faster
For freelancers, the money is in time saved: Muse drafting proposals, tracking invoices, chasing late payments by email, and preparing weekly client reports. See our autopilot workflows for setups.
The overhyped ones
"Muse runs Facebook ads for you"
Some videos pitch running paid Meta ads for clients through Muse. A hands-on tester who actually tried it reports Muse cannot access Facebook ad accounts today; it works with organic posts and comments. Even if that changes, running profitable ads is a skill, not a button.
"Ask it to make you $10,000"
People have tried. Muse will happily write a plan. Meta's own Muse lead points out that you still have to do your part. An agent removes friction; it does not replace a business.
Watch the pitches (with a pinch of salt)
The most detailed video on side-income ideas is below. Watch it alongside the caveats above, especially on ads:
And for the money-saving side, this one includes real examples of subscriptions and settlements:
Bottom line
Start with saving (subscriptions, money owed, bills). It is low risk and the results are immediate. If you have a skill people already pay for, use Muse to deliver it faster. Skip anything that promises income without work.
Frequently asked questions
Can you actually make money with Meta Muse?+
Yes, but mostly by saving money and by doing paid work faster. The most consistent results people report are cancelling forgotten subscriptions, finding unclaimed money and settlements, and selling items on Facebook Marketplace. Muse does not create income by itself; it removes busywork.
Can Meta Muse run Facebook ads for me?+
Hands-on testers report that Muse cannot access Facebook ad accounts. It can help with organic posts, comments and creative ideas, but treat claims that it runs paid ads for you with caution.
Is it safe to let Muse sell things on Marketplace?+
It can be, if you keep control of prices, your address and pickup times. Give Muse specific limits and set those actions to Ask in Settings > Permissions. See our Marketplace guide for a safe setup.
Does Muse give financial advice?+
No. Muse will organize statements, spot unusual charges and summarize numbers, but it declines to give financial advice. Any decision about money is yours.
