Disaster For Gavin Newsom - His Presidential Dreams Just Ended
TRANSCRIPTION COMPLÈTE
Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is
Carmine Sabia for Explain America and
the presidential dreams of Gavin Newsome
take a new hit. It seems like every
week, sometimes more than one time a
week. This one,
this one might be something he can't
recover from. Before we get started,
please make sure you like, comment,

things really help us out and they help
our channel continue to grow.
The California governor has run his
state into the ground. Their gas
[snorts] prices are always higher than
everybody else's. Their taxes are always
higher than everybody else's. There is
an exodus from their state. People are
leaving in droves to go to conservative
states. Sadly, in many cases, bringing
the same liberal policies with them that
had them run from the state they're in
to begin with. But I digress.
Businesses are running out of the state.
You remember when Tesla did, right?
Well, they're not the only ones.
Businesses by the droves again leaving
California. It's just too expensive to
operate there.
But what's really startling is the
homeless crisis in California.
See, because they've encouraged it. They
reward it. They don't remove the
homeless from the streets. They provide
safe spaces for these people to do their
drugs. Instead of trying to help them,
they're helping their demise. [snorts]
It's evil.
Well, a local Fox station did a report
that guys, I got to tell you, it
disturbed me. And I'm going to warn you
even before I show you this video, it is
deeply disturbing.
For those of you that watched the movie
Demolition Man, this will remind you of
what you saw with Dennis Lir's character
[snorts] and others who were living in
the sewers. There are people in Los
Angeles
living in sewers.
and the conditions.
Again, I can't unsee this video. And
that's why I'm warning you before you
watch it. Like, you have to be strong.
So, [snorts] if you if you don't want to
see it, now is the time to take this
video off. That's as strong of a warning
as I can give because this is a
disturbing video. To see human beings
living like this,
it's an utter disgrace. I want you to
watch this and let me know what you
think in the comments. the city's sewer
and storm drain system. Mario Ramirez is
live in South LA to show us more. Mario,
>> hi Brooke. We're in the Broadway
Manchester neighborhood of South LA this
morning and what we found is shocking.
People living underground in the city
sewer system. I want to show you that
white doghouse with the blue roof there.
Well, underneath a manhole. It's
uncovered a space some of the unhoused
are now calling home. Take a look. Our
cameras captured a woman climbing out of
that manhole. She wasn't working down
there, living there. And what's below
the street, hard to believe inside this
storm drain. Piles of trash, human
waste, swarms of flies, and a smell that
hits you immediately. And this is where
some people are now using the city's
drainage system to survive. On the
surface, the conditions aren't much
better. The stretch near 88th Street and
South Grand Avenue lined with RVs,
tents, and some trash. And now,
according to a local nonprofit, this
isn't a one-time discovery. Take a
listen.
I can't explain that. You know, a person
living like a rat, worse than a rat.
Come on. I've been telling nobody
deserves to live like this.
>> Pisses me off. That's why I was like,
what y'all doing? Going to tell them to
clean this up. And you can only do so
much. I can only do so much. Like, you
know, we can't do it by ourselves. Like,
they need to come and do this.
>> Neighbors say they've been sounding the
alarm for months, but feel like no one's
listening. And the mayor's office
responding to us calling the situation
tragic and unacceptable, saying it's the
result of years of system failures. They
also say street homelessness is down 17%
but admit there's still a lot of work to
do. And now coming back out here live
with people living underground. The
urgency here is growing. We can actually
hear someone's voice this morning coming
from that sewer drainage system there.
City crews are expected to respond to
this area and we're going to have more
on the city's response this morning and
more reaction from neighbors here in the
area. For now, live in South LA, I'm
Mario Ramirez. Brooke, we'll send it
back to you.
>> All right, Mario. Thank you.
