TRANSCRIPTION COMPLÈTE

0:23

Good evening, Sunderland.

0:27

It was here in the early hours of the

0:31

24th of June, 2016

0:34

when the returning officer read out the

0:35

result that made us realize that a

0:39

dramatic political earthquake was about

0:41

to happen and the British people had

0:43

voted against the main parties, against

0:45

the trade unions, against the big

0:47

businesses, against much of the media,

0:50

and they voted to leave the European

0:52

Union and DONE IT DECISIVELY.

1:03

AND THE reason

1:05

that I chose Sunderland

1:08

to launch our local election campaign in

1:11

England for May the 7th, 2026

1:16

is that in the early hours

1:18

of the 8th of May,

1:21

we are going to witness another even

1:24

bigger

1:25

more dramatic political earthquake when

1:28

reform achieved results in Sunderland

1:31

and elsewhere that nobody can yet

1:34

believe.

1:41

And of course we'll campaign on local

1:45

policies. Of course we'll campaign on

1:48

the record of Durham just over the road.

1:51

And didn't Andrew do a great job

1:53

earlier? Isn't he doing a great job as

1:55

council leader?

1:59

And as Richard said, we've saved

2:01

hundreds of millions of pounds in our

2:03

first year. Our council tax rises are

2:07

lower than the other parties. We've got

2:09

much to be proud of. So, of course,

2:11

we'll be campaigning here and elsewhere

2:14

on local issues.

2:17

But there's no denying

2:20

that here in the northeast where the

2:22

Labour Party have held sway in local

2:25

government and in terms of the MPs

2:27

they've sent to Westminster since pretty

2:30

much the end of World War I.

2:33

This here will be a referendum on

2:37

Karma's premiership of this country.

2:49

What a record it is.

2:51

The man who doesn't just give away the

2:53

Chaos Islands, but pays to do it.

2:58

The man who tells our American allies

3:01

they can't use our bases and then

3:03

U-turns a few days later.

3:07

The man who is proud, it seems,

3:10

of the fact that it took three weeks and

3:12

one day

3:14

to send a single naval vessel.

3:18

You can't believe it, can you?

3:21

A single naval vessel to Cyprus to

3:24

defend an RAF base that is British

3:27

sovereign territory. Mind you, he

3:30

thought that was bad. The defense

3:33

secretary, John Healey, doesn't even

3:35

know how many ships we have in the Royal

3:37

Navy.

3:46

This is the man who will not stand up

3:49

for British values. This is the man who

3:52

will not prescribe the IRGC. And think

3:56

about it. There's now an active terror

3:58

cell in North London that attacked the

4:01

Jewish community. It is directly linked

4:03

to the IRGC. And all that Starmmer says

4:07

is we have sympathy. Our thoughts and

4:09

prayers are with the Jewish community.

4:11

They don't want his thoughts and

4:12

prayers. They want action from a

4:15

decisive leader. They'll never get it

4:17

from him.

4:26

This is a man who worked

4:31

against

4:32

British servicemen who wereounded

4:35

through the courts many years after they

4:37

did their duty for queen and country.

4:41

This is the most unpatriotic,

4:44

the most dishonest, the most

4:47

dissembling, the most undeserving prime

4:49

minister we have had in any of our

4:53

lifetime.

5:03

And on May the 7th

5:05

here in Sunderland and elsewhere,

5:08

if we deliver the kind of result that I

5:11

believe is possible as the Labour Party

5:13

craters support to us and on the other

5:17

sectarian wing to the Greens.

5:24

Not many heroin smokers here this

5:26

evening. that one time.

5:32

Here in the northeast, the voters in

5:36

these areas can deliver a decisive blow

5:40

and a blow that would mean Star would be

5:43

out of office by the end of May. Isn't

5:46

that worth fighting for?

5:58

more broadly, more broadly

6:01

across the whole of England where we

6:04

have labor areas like this, but equally

6:06

the conservative counties of Norfolk, of

6:09

Suffukk, of Essex, of Hampshire, of

6:13

Surrey. I think more broadly

6:17

these May the 7th elections may be

6:18

looked back on in history as the moment

6:22

that the two party system that has

6:25

dominated British politics at both local

6:28

and national level this effectively will

6:30

be a referendum on our entire political

6:34

class. And our message,

6:42

our message is simple.

6:45

If you want real change, if you want

6:48

different people, if you want those with

6:50

the courage who are prepared to stand up

6:53

and put the interests of British people

6:55

first, not international treaties or

6:58

bogus organizations. If you want people

7:01

who will make sure that it's British

7:04

people that go to the top of social

7:06

housing lists and not young men who've

7:09

just arrived by boat,

7:21

if you want change

7:23

on May the 7th, you've got a chance to

7:26

vote for change. And what we learned on

7:29

May the 1st last year in the English

7:31

county elections is if you vote reform,

7:35

you get

7:38

>> Oh, you've written the script. That's

7:39

marvelous.

7:43

I have to say that I was I was actually

7:46

astonished on May the 1st by just how

7:50

many councils we won. I simply could

7:52

never have dreamt of a result on that

7:55

scale. And whilst running local

7:58

government is not easy with the

8:00

pressures of adult social care, send

8:04

children and all the rest of it. And

8:06

whilst no one can wave a magic wand, I'm

8:09

proud of our record of the first 10

8:12

months in government. I really, really

8:14

am.

8:22

that this year we have a bigger, better,

8:27

more professional, more well-funded

8:29

campaign with better structures with

8:33

thousands thousands of enthusiastic

8:36

candidates.

8:38

And some people tell me we I shouldn't

8:41

set expectations too high.

8:45

I should be very modest in my ambitions.

8:50

Well, I'm not.

8:53

I'm not.

9:00

This important interruption is brought

9:02

to you by ExpressVPN and their massive

9:04

spring deal. Step into spring with a

9:07

huge saving of up to 82% off if you act

9:10

now. You're busy planning your summer,

9:12

but hackers are planning to get into

9:14

your accounts. ExpressVPN locks down

9:17

your connection so you can start the

9:19

year protecting your data. Scan the QR

9:22

code or click the link in the

9:23

description now. But hurry and get this

9:26

deal before it's too late.

9:32

We have to have the mentality that we

9:35

fight to win absolutely everywhere we

9:38

stand. That is the only way.

9:47

And what a huge pleasure it's been for

9:49

the last three weeks. I've been in the

9:50

aisle of white, Hampshire, Sussex,

9:53

London, Milton, Ke, Suffukk, Essex,

9:55

Yorkshire. Um I've been all over the

9:58

country and night after night like this,

10:02

packed out audiences. And most people

10:04

who come to these events have never been

10:08

to a political meeting in their lives.

10:11

And it shows me, it shows me something

10:16

is happening out there. Something

10:18

remarkable, unusual, never seen, not at

10:23

least for 100 years since Labor overtook

10:26

the Lib Dems. Something remarkable is

10:29

happening out there. And it's because

10:32

people understand that the two-p partyy

10:34

system has broken Britain. IT DOESN'T

10:39

WORK ANYMORE.

10:48

AND IT'S SAD THAT WE SHOULD say that,

10:51

but because we understand that and

10:53

accept that, we're in a position to do

10:56

something about it. Karma says Britain's

10:58

not broken.

11:01

Kem Badno,

11:03

you've heard of her. Come on.

11:07

Kemby Badnock says Britain's not broken.

11:10

Unless you get the correct diagnosis

11:12

from the doctor as to how severe the

11:15

condition is, you can't begin to get the

11:18

right treatment to sort out the problem.

11:20

And we we are bringing

11:24

one very important and very powerful
