The Best Noise Cancelling Headphones To Buy In 2026
VOLLSTÄNDIGE ABSCHRIFT
We can all agree that silence is golden.
Today, we're giving the best noise
cancelling headphones of 2026 their
flowers in our countdown to the top pick
for the year. We did the dirty work of
testing hundreds of headphones, and no
pair is perfect for everyone, but
there's a pair at every price point.

Our pick for budget noise cancelling
headphones in 2026 is the Anker
Soundcore Life Q20 2024. When you hear
budget, you might think that means
you're [music] compromising. But a lot
of features that were once considered
premium even just a few years ago can
now be found in fairly affordable
headphones. Case [music] in point, the
Anker Soundcore Life Q202024 packs
multi-device pairing, an app with
[music] a graphic EQ and presets, and an
excited sound, all in a sub $50 package,
powered by a whopping 49 hour continuous
battery [music] life. Their excellent
noise cancelling system goes toe-to-toe
with products that cost several times
more, and we are all for it. That said,
they're not perfect. Their sound
signature may not be for everybody,
although you can tweak [music] this with
the app. Also, the mic system can't
reject noise on calls as well as the ANC
keeps it out of your ears. [music]
So, if you're in meetings all day with
kids in the next room or constantly
making calls on your commute, that's
[music] worth noting. Their budget tier
also shows in their plasticky build, and
their soft carrying pouch won't do much
to protect them from drops and bumps. If
you're looking for something that's a
cut above our budget pick, our other
anchor entry, the Soundcore Space Q45 is
our best mid-range noise cancelling
headphone for 2026. With these cans, the
brand continues to do [music] what it
does best. Take features from premium
headphones and cram them into an
affordable package. This means the
headphones come equipped with a
high-powered adaptive ANC system to
block noise across the entire spectrum.
This is a step up from the budget pick's
already admirable ANC performance. For
the control freaks among you, you
[music] can even override the adaptive
algorithm and switch between five levels
of ANC. They're pretty comfortable, too,
and they can last up to 27 hours off a
single charge. If this somehow hasn't
convinced you, these headphones are an
amazing bang for your buck. They also
feature Bluetooth multi-device pairing,
LDAC support, and a graphic EQ and
presets in case you don't like their
bass heavy tuning. Of course, there's a
catch or two. Their plasticky build
quality doesn't inspire much confidence,
and the built-in mic is just fine. It
gets the job done, but you'll want to
look at one of our more expensive picks
if you're after topshelf mic quality.
For many of you, the way to go might be
our best upper mid-range noise
cancelling headphones, the Sony
WHh1000XM4.
[music] Even though they've been,
spoiler warning, officially surpassed in
Sony's XM lineup, you can still find
them easily and often at a steep
discount, sometimes under $200. Their
noise cancellation is superb,
particularly in the bass [music] range,
making them perfect for commuting and
travel. Even mid-range sounds like
co-worker chitchat are also blocked out,
so you won't have to switch to another
pair when you make it to the office.
[music] Out of the box, these headphones
have a warm bass heavy sound profile
that adds thump and punch to your
favorite Pearson sound tunes. While
there's still enough clarity in the top
end to ensure high hats sound crisp, a
small dip in the high mids and low
treble can make voices in dense pop
songs sound just a touch [music]
distant, but you can easily tweak the
sound using the EQ in the companion app.
The XM4 last almost 38 hours off a
single charge, and you can use them
wired or via Bluetooth with Sony's LDAC
codec for highquality streaming. The
main downside to these headphones is
their poor microphone. If you know
you'll be taking a lot of important
calls using your headphones, you may
want to stay away from these. We thought
we'd take a brief detour in service of
the audio files among you. Thank you for
your service. Sure, this video is mostly
about noise isolation, but which ANC
equipped cans sound the best? Don't
worry, we've got the answer for you. The
Sennheiser HDB [music] 630. Since
Sennheiser split its consumer and
professional divisions, the Senova run
consumer audio arm has focused on
serving up headphones with features like
[music] ANC and long battery lives. With
the HDB 630, they're showing that they
can offer audio file level sound. These
overears prioritize [music] balance and
accuracy, and they come closer to our
target curve than almost any other A&C
headphones we've tested. Out of the box,
they sound well balanced. Vocals and
instruments are rendered with plenty of
realism and feel true to life. There's
also a hint of extra low-end on offer
that ensures baselines in your favorite
disco tunes still sound immersive and
full. And as you'd expect, these cans
also perform very well technically with
amazingly well-matched left and right
drivers. They also last an [music] epic
54 hours off a single charge. The
companion app is superb with all the
Fixins. In addition to a standard
graphic EQ, Sennheiser includes a full
parametric EQ, [music] a personalized
sound feature, bass boost, and even a
crossfeed option that blends the left
and right channels slightly for a more
speaker-like [music] presentation. If
you like to fine-tune your sound, this
is one of the most flexible apps we've
[music] seen on a pair of wireless
headphones. What about that noise
isolation? Well, it's a step down from
the likes of the Sony [music] XM4 we
just looked at, but it's about on par
with our mid-range pick, the Anker Q45.
So, it's still [music] excellent and
more than enough to block out the sounds
of co-workers talking, but it can't cut
out bassrange rumble as well as the
class leaders like our upcoming top
pick. Like most overearc headphones,
these can be sensitive to fit and seal,
especially if you wear thicker framed
glasses. If that's you, check out the
Foccal Bathe Wireless. The Foccal offer
a similarly balanced sound with fewer
sound customization options [music] and
a shorter battery life. For most audio
nerds looking for portable Bluetooth
overears, the HDB 630 are the ones to
pick. You can use any of our picks with
your Apple devices, but when [music] it
comes to purpose-built headphones to
match your iPhone, the Apple AirPods Max
are the best. [music] Despite coming out
a few years ago, these still hold their
own in 2026. Between their unique H1
chip, letting you seamlessly switch
between Apple products and find my
location tracking, these make life easy.
These headphones pull off the magic
trick of having breathable mesh ear pads
while still providing fantastic adaptive
noise cancellation and passive
isolation. These sound great with a
balanced sound and warm treble with
excellent consistency between different
listeners. But part of the easy Apple
life [music] is a one-sizefits-all sound
profile. There's no EQ available. The
mic sounds all right, but our review
results aren't using Apple's [music]
voice isolation feature, which tends to
improve call quality, meaning noise
rejection depends on your device
settings. [music] You also can't
actually turn the headphones off either,
which is an odd quirk. [music] And while
over 21 hours of battery life is plenty
