How to make a Matcha Latte Macchiato Using Matcha Pods for Nespresso | Quick & Healthy Drinks Recipe

hey guys, something a little bit different for you today and if you follow us on instagram it's

@a2b_productions by the way, if you follow us on there then you'll have noticed that we made like

a sort of a matcha cappuccino drink earlier and i posted a picture of it and just said

should we make it on the channel or not and the majority said yes so i didn't want to leave you

too long hanging, waiting for that and so i just thought i'd make it today. Now i've got these

Rockit matcha nespresso pods now i ordered these the other day and i really like them,

unfortunately i got sent the old plastic version and they've actually got a new compostable version

now and so i've ordered some of those, so we'll be doing a review of the pods when they come

the new version but i just was enjoying them so much and i thought you know i don't want to

leave you too long waiting around for this drink, so i've just used the plastic one today just to

show you how to make it and what we're going to try and make is rather than just your standard

matcha latte i'm going to try and make a matcha latte macchiato and see if we get that nice band

of separation in the middle, as we would get with a standard latte macchiato so i'm going to use the

aeroccino 4 but you can use an aeroccino 3 on the standard setting, don't worry you can use

that but i'm going to use the extra froth setting, i'm also going to shake the pod first to get the

matcha mixed up inside and the benefits of these is that you don't have all the mess of trying to

measure it all out and apparently it can be quite a messy process - or that's just the advertising

of these pods - i'm not sure but anyway we're also going to pour a shot of water through with

no pod inside the machine and that's just to get any coffee residue out from the last pour if

you've been drinking coffee with it, as you can see we get a bit of cloudy water coming through

so we'll get this extra froth setting going and yeah i just thought when i looked up matcha latte

on youtube i didn't see any macchiato drinks and i think well it's such a popular drink and it

could look so good and these matcha the matcha pods by the way, the amount of antioxidants in

them is crazy when you actually look up the figures compared to just like

standard fruits and things have a look at that see how many antioxidants are in them and I'm not the

biggest health freak my wife is she loves it but to be honest when i drank this I thought do you

know, i actually feel better and so i don't know whether it's a placebo effect i'm not sure,

I'll leave that here because the milk is going in first, so yeah extra froth setting on the

aeroccino4 like i said i'll leave a link in the description on amazon to nespresso

matcha pods and you can have a browse through, see which ones look the best to you the best value

and you can get them on there, these ones i think are also available on Ocado these are Rockit

available on Ocado and they're also on yeah, just amazon really or their own website but you've got

to spend over 20 quid on their own website and order in bulk to be able to get free delivery

so yeah, i'll give a link in the description to the amazon page where it shows all the different

ones that are available then that'll probably be more use to you won't it.

So this takes about 60 seconds you see it's whipping up, just have a look in the top now

it's whipping up the froth really well, going to get a nice froth, i tried it without milk but to

be honest all i tasted was cereal when i tried it with oat milk so i thought i'll stick with milk

but if you've got any suggestions about how you make these drinks and which combination of milk

and alternative milks you think works well, leave it in the comments we'd love to hear your comments

the extra froth setting on the aeroccino 4 you can pour it up quite high in these recipe glasses

because obviously the higher you get the more volume there is in the top for your 40ml pod

so it's just a shot of espresso you could use two pods if you wanted

we're getting that band there a green latte macchiato coming through the middle

you can see all the little bits of matcha coming through into the milk below it as well,

i'll take that out and let it settle, well i'll let it a bit more drip through if you noticed

a little bit of water coming through there that will be the plastic pods are sometimes not great

and it does put a little bit of water through first, i'm hoping that the new pods from Rockit

when i review them the compostable ones will be better than that,

i'm hoping because i think they look similar to the halo pods we have a review of the halo

coffee pods on the channel they look similar if we just have a look on top look at that little dot

looks pretty cool that doesn't it, if i just maybe shake it a little bit it might get that

separation going you can see it started to get that separation going a little bit more and then

eventually it sort of mixes together but i'll have a little taste now see what it tastes like

yeah it's nice is that, you could have a double shot if you wanted

but what i would say i think because it's a macchiato and it's settling a little bit in the

middle rather than mixing it in as a full latte you're getting that matcha flavor a little bit

more one more look on top again just that great little dot that's come through as well, smart

looking drink to give to your friends something healthy in between all your coffee drinking
