Inside Azov’s FPV Pilot Gear. How Much Does It Cost?

Hi, I'm Manik and behind me is Viking

and he's serving in the ZOV

International Battalion as an FPV pilot.

>> I'm not too bad myself. Uh, could you

>> My favorite of everything of my

equipment is my weapons is my savior is

my best friend is my lovers. My rifle is

my main one.

>> Okay. But the closest I always have on

me is my pistol. I always have with me

is a 420, a standard issue weapon we get

in unsolve. I have attachment with an O

light. It's a white light and a green

laser.

>> And can you switch it on?

>> Uh I can switch it on for you if you

want.

>> Of course.

>> You can see I have a holster on me.

>> Mhm.

>> Now it's just for show. I have my pistol

in a different way. Always concealed and

it's always for my own protection. Shall

>> Yes. The main weapon is the standard

issue urra 15. It's a standard issue

weapon in Azov. And to this I have a

Bashnau red dot. Simple red dot to it.

>> Okay. And um like do you use the rifle a

lot?

>> Sometimes we're going to have to defend

our positions. Sometimes we're going to

engage in firefights. Sometimes we're

going to have to clear some tree lines.

Let's move on. Next, you I've seen a

night vision.

>> It's correct. It's not an ideal new

night vision. It was given to me by a

volunteer uh from my home country.

Something people should bear in mind

with night vision. They are really good

to to detect drones with at night. Full

cover helmet. Why full cover helmet?

Personal preference, but also an advice.

We're in a war where we have a lot of

artillery and a lot of drones, a lot of

grenades and a lot of explosives. Uh you

get a little bit more extra weight but

more protection.

>> I see gas mask and uh it's not a very

common thing like not many people have

it.

>> The Russians are using gas and chemicals

and gas mask is a must.

>> What's the story behind it? How did you

get it? Where did you buy it?

>> This was given to me by a volunteer

>> that was used in the Swedish army

before. Uh as I suggest uh we gonna run

some tests uh in this uh building. Uh

how you feel about that?

>> Normal.

>> Normal. Okay.

>> Someone else is disturbing my image.

>> Uh I don't know if you knew but this uh

building was previously um made for

recreational purposes. It used to be a

sanatorium. The building is made of

concrete and I know that there is a

certain limitations to work in a

concrete u I don't know buildings areas.

Can you explain what's uh what's so

difficult about it?

>> So as a drone operator uh it's very hard

to work with uh when we use signal

drones to work in buildings that is made

out of concrete uh because it basically

is blocking the signals. So we

preferably move into buildings with

concrete with fiber optic.

>> How often do you have to work in such

environment? Since we working a lot in

urban areas, it's a lot of houses and

basement. Now, we don't necessarily have

to fly inside, but we have to strike

inside.

>> Okay. Well, we don't have fiber optica

today with us, but um I'm going to try

to like to hide in this building.

Imagine that I'm the enemy. Let's say it

that way. And you're going to find me.

>> Thank you. Well, good luck finding me

Well, uh, let's, uh, see if, uh, Viking

can find me. I'm going to sneak inside

one of the basin rooms. And now you can

see the, uh, aftermath of Russian

attack. This building, if I'm not

mistaken, is was hit in the beginning of

Full Scale Invasion 2022. This room was

made for some water procedures.

Uh there's a bath tub indicating the

purpose of this. There is like cabins

with water I suggest. And I see the

perfect little spot

>> So yeah, I hear the sound indicating the

drone uh the drone was switched on. So,

I'm gonna

wait.

All right. Um, test.

>> Yes,

>> it is very heavy. Okay. I'm uh going to

help you. Yes.

>> Okay.

>> Uh, so what did you put in it that it

weighs

150 kg?

>> Okay. I will explain why it's so heavy.

I choose mobility. What do you mean with

mobility? Because it's so heavy. because

we have to use battle belt. It's good if

you use a battle belt with soft armor so

you can protect your pelvis but it's

also a uh for me a hinder to how I move

which is a warrior assault DC uh which

is a very good brand. It's very simple

and it has 11 file 115 plates inside. My

player has soft armor on the side

>> Yes. I also use uh my front pouch which

I had before as second IFAC. I buy what

I think is what is more effective for me

at work. And what I have is six

magazines right now which is going to be

more uh cuz it's going to be a double

pouch. One extra that's going to be one

more

>> So six you would have seven.

>> Seven on the play carrier.

>> Why would you need so many? Sometimes

we're going to have to shoot maybe a

drones or explosives or something or

mines. But

>> if we are getting engaged into a

firefight with Russians, you want the

ammunition with you. Here, uh, I have a

radio pouch and I have the radio pouch

on the side due to so it's not in the

way or hinders anything. Tourniquets,

>> how many?

>> Minimum. Minimum four.

>> Inside here, I have a water canteen. Uh,

it's enough water for me to move

somewhere.

>> M. And if it is like a long distance, I

usually have a backpack. And in a

backpack, I will put in more water. This

pouch, it's the most important pouch. I

have my multi-tool. This is uh one of my

best friends also. Uh it's used for my

weapons. It's used for uh the FPVs or

anything. I have headlamp. It's white.

It's not supposed to, but it's red

light. More I have here is just a small

compass and my earplugs. Why do I have

these small earplugs? because I don't

want the big ones. We're in a modern

warfare with a lot of drones. If you're

using the modern ones, sometimes it

cancel out the sound of the drones. You

can hear that from a distance. You can

at least move somewhere and take cover

in time.

>> Right now we just have a a uh drone for

demonstration. And this drone is a 7in

drone. Basic drone. It can carry

explosives up to 1 kilo.

>> If you're working in a field with this,

would you be able to mount on it?

>> Anything you want.
